Why am I skipping ahead on my queue?

No one has actually asked or complained about this but I figured I should clarify before someone does.
You may have noticed, at least my commissioners might have, that commissions up to 3 weeks into my schedule were completed over the last few days while people ahead of them were left there. The simple reason for this is I take my weekends off. And if I feel like working on a weekend I basically give myself leave to pick from where-ever in the queue I like. The basic reason I have a schedule in addition to my queue is so everyone has a guaranteed completion date (provided nothing happens to me). I'm terrible when it comes to working on a queue out of order so to keep everyone's mind at ease I give you all dates instead of a specific working order. If I have free time I work on what I feel like, but I will always (hopefully) get the right things done by the right time.
Also if I am getting ahead of myself, like I have been lately, it's more beneficial to my work that I leave some commissions that are coming up that week just so I'm not tempted to take the week off. If I had have finished everything on my schedule this week there would have been nothing stopping me from sitting back and waiting til I had to do more. I know it sounds stupid and like I have no self control... and that's probably true, but at least this way the entire queue as a whole gets done all the sooner.
This is all especially true with CFG commissions because frankly I got a hoard of emails at once and the order you're in was simply down to luck. You're frankly all on the same level as far as I'm concerned.
I hope this clarifies things and puts some people at ease. I can't please everyone but I do have to keep myself motivated and happy otherwise I can't work. I hope you understand.

2018 Furries in Underwear Calendar - Early Info
Posted 9 years agoNo I'm not taking page commissions yet, that would be insane. But I would like to give those interested some preliminary information so that they can save and be ready to claim pages when the time comes. I will structure this as a FAQ. Should you have any additional questions I'll add them and keep this as a reference throughout the calendar process.
When can I commission a page for the next FiU Calendar?
I intend to open slots the moment I finish the CFG queue I currently have. At this stage that looks like it will be around the beginning of March. I'll give notice if it'll be any earlier.
How much will it cost to commission a page and what level of detail will it be?
There will be two tiers of cost this year as I got asked often if a calendar was included in the purchase. It will also be slightly more expensive to adjust for my commission price changes that occurred in June last year.
1. $180 AUD - A full detail image containing one character and a full scene background. Additional character +$100 AUD
2. $200 AUD - Same as above plus a calendar once printing commences.
How many characters can I have on my page?
1 - 3... but here's the catch!
You can of course, as in previous years, buy the page for you and some friends, that's fine, so long as communication is through one person I'm happy. However, I'm adding an extra incentive to sharing pages this year. Should you buy a page, have no one to share it with but not want to have your character alone, you may give me the idea of the page and I shall create a YCH for the remaining character/s, the number of which you can determine (1 or 2). The YCH buyers will cover the additional character costs (plus $20 if they want a calendar too), and the initial commissioner covers the base price ($180 AUD). I can immediately hear the cries of "THAT'S NOT SPLIT EVENLY" but remember this initial commissioner gets to pick the page theme, character actions and background. The YCH buyers just get to stamp their characters into the fun. It's up to you guys in the end and offers a cheaper way into the calendar for those who can't afford to buy a page themselves.
Will I be able to get a return customer discount when I commission a page?
Unfortunately not. The commission price is already discounted and the calendar in the 2nd tier is almost half price when you factor in shipping.
Does my character HAVE to be wearing underwear?
First off this is strictly a PG rated calendar. Even bulges are kept to a respectably subtle size (sorry horses) and suggestive themes are kept as mild as possible. However I maintain that so long as all mature rated body parts are covered we can discuss alternatives. April in particular has a running theme of a character's underwear being stolen. I hope to continue this. If you want something more risque then get 12 of your closest friends together and try to convince me to do a nude calendar as well. Go on. I dare you. Mind you... could be harder for me to get bound.
What are the specs of my commission and the calendar?
The resolution of your image will be A3 size and also printable to that size. The calendar itself will be portrait A4 printed on double sided 155gsm gloss paper with a 260gsm front and back cover. Wire bound. If any of this changes it will before I start taking the commissions as I'll have to adjust everything early.
Once it's done when will I be able to order the calendar?
With the exception of commissioners who should get the calendar almost the moment I can get them printed, orders will open in the second half of the year. Due to ConFurgence being later in the year calendars will not be available to collect at the con, however, on the off chance this all happens as early as I'm hoping, I may be able to provide some at this year's FurDU, and any other con I get convinced into going to... I'm looking at you WAFF and Neonfur.
Can I reserve my page now? I really really want x month!
I'm sorry but no. I have one exception to this because they asked a year ago and I'm a little indebted to them but otherwise I'm making sure everyone has an equal chance to be a part of this... and that means me trying to find a time to offer the commission that's time zone friendly to everyone.
I'm still waiting on my copy of this year's calendar!
I know and I am so sorry! I have 7 copies printing now which I will drive off to bind tomorrow and ship on Monday. 2 of you are waiting on invoices and frankly I can't ask you to pay until I get yet another shipment of paper (ordered today, should be here early next week). If anyone is fed up with me and wants a refund you are so so welcome to demand one before I send these out but otherwise I thank you all SO much for your patience. This was a huge learning curve for me and thanks to you guys it won't happen the same way again. (All this depends on me having enough ink to get through all 7 calendars... *looks nervously at printer charts*)
I think that's everything. Final price of the calendar will be announced when orders open but I can't see it changing from this year's.

- There are currently 16 people waiting on their high res files. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN! The delay was due to con prep as you know. I will send them out Tuesday at the latest.
- There are currently LOTS of CFG attendees awaiting on an email from me. I will also send those Tuesday at the latest. In addition, my queue will be built based on who replies first, not who got to me first at the con. So the more prompt you are the better.

While I'll leave orders open in the new year, this is the last chance you'll get to order one and have it sent out before the year ends.
I am running short on... well... everything when it comes to supplies due to con prep so those who ordered in the week before Christmas may have to wait a short while longer while I wait for paper and ink orders to come through.
There will be 3 more calendars on their way to their new homes today and then I'm out until I can make more. The sooner you order and pay, the sooner I can buy more printing supplies.

I am not a person at my table I am an artist and I am working. It's like one of the first things they tell you at 'my first fur con'... don't hover around the dealers.
Grump aside, yes we can totally hang out after hours if you'd like (should I not be dashing for food or hiding in my room). If you can't catch me, come along to the Traditional Art Jam Sunday afternoon or for that matter the Intro to Traditional Artistry Sunday morning, which no one is going to because ffs it's Sunday morning and who has the energy, both of which I'll be hosting (the second one along with

I shall be abandoning the online world for a few days after today so I can do some real and proper family time! (I'm stealing someone else's family though.) I should be back to work next Tuesday.

Commission Delays - Apologies

So I guess I had too much faith in myself to stick to my schedule at such a demanding time of year. I'm going to regretfully ask you all to completely ignore the order of my queue and my schedule and just take my word that it will all be done before CFG (first weekend in Jan). At this point I have to make sure all Christmas themed commissions and CFG badges are done and ready as a priority (granted I think all the badges are done) and everyone else will have to wait a tiny bit longer. Hopefully no one will be pushed back further than a week (bar one person who completely gave me permission to set them aside for now *massive hugs*) and hopefully this won't mess anyone up. Again if your commission is Christmas themed or you've told me it's a Christmas gift, IT WILL BE DONE THIS WEEK! I will stay home all Christmas Eve day if I have to.
Also, calendar peeps... I'm a horrible person and am still packaging your calendars ready to send off, however I got more bound and officially have enough to cover all paid orders. Those of you who have not paid yet, well I don't need to tell you you won't get one til you do sooooo, if you've changed your mind please tell me. At this stage I just have to address envelopes and organise some cardboard backing. But they're all in plastic so there should be no water issues which is something I've had in the past.
So yes, I'm sorry I haven't lived up to at least my own expectations this month and I hope next year I'll either plan better for my own unorganised...ness or get on the ball!
New Commission Types? Suggestions?

I introduce and remove commission types constantly so I want to know what you guys want in the new year!
So far I'm looking to introduce/change the following:
- Traditional animal portraits
- Cell shaded avatars/icons instead of cell shaded head shots
- Cell shaded pin ups (same as the current ones, thigh up views)
- Comic page commissions (cell or flat... haven't quite fleshed this one out yet)
- Little Ferals will now be considered cell shaded chibis. Only change is that anthro will now be available, body style may also move slightly more towards my regular chibis.
And that's about it.
If you like the ideas above or would like to give me ideas and suggestions for new commission types please let me know!
Also while everyone is still asking, commissions won't be open until I finish what I take at CFG in early January. As I won't have a limit on what I take I can't tell if that'll be mid-late Jan or Feb.
Any commissions I take between now and then are simply due to me... not having money.
On that note if you are interested in a cell shaded pin up uh... send me a note. I might need an example or two before I can offer them.

Request - Animal Photos

So as I keep reminding everyone, ConFurgence is just around the corner. And recently I've been playing with traditional art and animal portraits.
At conventions I really enjoy being able to sell original images. I love how people seem to react knowing they're getting something one of a kind and it will give me something to work on this convention as I won't be doing table tops (absolutely no time if I actually want to enjoy myself and attend some panels for once.) However there's one draw back. I'm no photographer, and finding quality images of wild animals and pets without stepping on a professional photographer's copyrighted toes is difficult. So I'd like to make a request of anyone who's willing to help.
If you have any clear, well lit images of animals (preferably close up face images) and you are willing to give me permission to use them in my artwork (that artwork being heavily referenced from the image but entirely hand drawn) and sold as originals (or used for a future portfolio), I ask that you send them my way. I don't mind if they're pets or wild animals (although some wildlife would be awesome), and the background of the image doesn't matter so long as the animal is clear. I obviously can't guarantee I'll use all or even most of what is potentially offered to me, I am just hoping for a safe and permitted stock of references for my work.
Finally, just so you all know. These will be for sale purposes and also may not all be posted online. If you do decide to send me a personal pet photo or anything like that, I won't be setting aside the image for you. If you do want a pet portrait or an original based on a photo you own please hold onto that image and talk to me when I open commissions next year. And if you want to send me photos and commission something, know that I don't mind drawing the same animal/pet twice, but I won't draw from the same photo twice. So hold onto your bests if that's the case.
Thank you in advance to anyone who wants to give me permission to reference their photography. How you get those images to me is up to you, note, email etc. I'll keep them safe on my computer for future use.
EDIT: This has come up already. For small animals/birds etc, should you want to throw them my way, of course full body shots are fine. An A4 image of a wren head would just be weird.
LESS THAN 20!!!

I have less than 20 commissions on my queue for the first time since... well... May this year!
It has been super hard pulling money from my long earned savings to make sure I could dig myself out of that overload but knowing that I'm almost there makes it so worth it.
An update for those waiting on collabs as you're not on the main schedule, I hope to have the last two sketched out and sent off to Hunter by early next week. The first one on the list is almost finished, I started shading it today and Hunter finished the bg yesterday so that'll be out soon.
In terms of calendar send outs, I have 5 printed and I want to get them bound BY MONDAY at the latest and thus sent out. I still have to go to the post office to work out shipping costs so I can invoice everyone. I have 6 orders so I also have to print more but I ran out of ink today after printing for ConFurgence so there's more on the way which should also arrive early next week.
Finally to those who have asked or have wanted to, yes I'll be making pet portraits like those I posted earlier this week available for everyone in the new year. I have a bunch of new copics on the way just for those.

Just info for everyone on my queue. I've pushed everyone's deadlines back 2 days. I fell behind when I hit a block last week and I refuse to pressure myself into a second one. This leaves less time for con prep but you guys come first.
I'll also make sure all Christmas themed commissions are done in time. I may have to shuffle a few people. Sorry about that.

Posted 9 years agoPaper for the calendar has arrived. I'll be setting up an order form today so I know how many I need to print after a test run. I won't be able to bind any until early next week so there will be a week's delay on postage. Australian orders should arrive in time for the new year, CFG attendees can pick theirs up, international orders may come within the new year as I assume Christmas mail rush may slow them down.

Posted 9 years agoFirst day of summer... in Christmas tree mode... house is a disaster as I haven't cleaned all week. Yeah nah, I'll catch up on commissions this weekend, today is for vacuum cleaners and tinsel!
