Re-posting my work | When you can | When you can't
Posted 4 years agoIt's getting pretty bad with my art being re-posted lately. Now I'm realistic, there will always be some idiot that won't give a crap about me, my art, how it's shared and is just in it for the likes or whatever. These are the people I report until they have to disable their account (I've done it before, I'll do it again.) So for those who DO care, I'm going to share a simple guide to when it's okay to post my art and when it's not.
When it's okay ~
- Reddit -
With proper credit (linking back to one of my original posts on FA or Twitter) I am very comfortable for my work to be shared on Reddit. Both SFW and NSFW in appropriate subreddits. And of course, only in a positive light, nothing in like r/cringe or anything like that. Also try to credit the character owner if you can either in the title or source comment. My reddit username is KitaClaws if you ever see me pop into one of those reposts to say hi or answer a question.
- Instagram -
With proper credit (either a link to an original post or tagging my insta (Silvixen) or even having my name in there). Only re-post on Instagram after getting written permission from me and only if insta doesn't crop my signature off. Again please credit the character owner by name.
- Twitter -
Please don't. Please retweet or quote retweet my original posts. This is just more of a courtesy to me than anything. It helps my posts spread better.
- If you're the commissioner -
Obviously you can post work you've commissioned from me, wherever you like, as per my ToS. (Unedited and with credit)
When it's not okay ~
- Posting anywhere other than the sites above mentioned (unless the commissioner).
- Posting without credit and/or original links
- Posing as me
- If my work has been edited, cropped or made into a meme
- If my work has been traced or copied
- If you 'found this on google and I don't know who drew it' (My name is on every piece I do, this is not an excuse)
- I think this is a cool drawing so wanted it as my avatar (most of my works are commissions, do not use other people's characters please)
Why this matters.
More than anything I like to know where my art is. I like to know who is looking at it, what they're saying about it and I like them to know I drew it. This is for an abundance of reasons including everything from growing my platforms, running a business, respecting my copyright and just a big fat... They're mine and not yours. Yes, sharing and all that is flattering but there are ways you can do it that benefit me, and ways you can do it that circumvent me. And art circumventing the artists is how you have incredibly talented artists who just can't get a following even if you feel you've seen their work everywhere. It's how work can get stolen and used by third parties because without a name on the art, it looks more victimless. It's how you see art suddenly on dodgy t-shirt sites for scam profit and things like that. When we respect the artists and make sure their rights are respected too, we ensure that they're getting everything they possibly can out of their time, effort and talent. Sharing someone's art can support an artist's growth, but more so if you do it the right way.

Those who've been with me for a while know what happens now, my gallery goes into scraps and I start fresh. You can still use my folders to find all my past work easily but I like my gallery to be new every year. I'm weird like that.

Posted 5 years agoAs of June my prices will be changing slightly. My price sheet will be retired. I won't be making a new price sheet immediately as I want to test the prices with the public first to gauge demand. You may notice small fluctuations in my prices over the next couple of months as I work out what suits each commissiom type.

Together we produced enough (amazing) art to put together an 88 (ish) page book packed with full colour artworks of the incredible biodiversity in South America. This stunning book is now available to everyone through an Indiegogo campaign along with loads of extra perks and rewards.

Furries in Underwear 2021 Calendar - INFO JOURNAL

I'm going to start opening slots for next year's calendar soon, however this time around it'll be run a little differently. Mostly due to the length of my queue, wait time and my desire to finish a couple of pages in April so I can start pre-orders, I'm making things a little smaller, a little more restricted and a lot more streamlined.
This year I will be offering all slots on a YCH basis, it will work as follows:
The first page (January) will be released as a YCH on FA and advertised on telegram and Twitter. The YCH will be a single character pin up image or something fun, one female version, one male version (different poses and expressions) sharing the same background.
The price will be set and it'll be first come, first served. Price has not yet been decided but expect it to be between $200-$250 USD.
These images will belong to two calendars, a female specific one and a male specific one. Same backgrounds and themes but different characters. Trans and non-binary characters are of course also welcome to be in the calendar they think will fit their character best.
Rinse and repeat for the rest of the months! It'll be a slower release process, two calendars and genuinely easier for me in the long run. It should span a few weeks. Pieces will be completed in April and May. Calendar pre-orders will launch at FurDU and be available online after that.
At this stage I'm claiming the cover pages for my own characters, I have two in mind that should work well.
At this stage this process is only for this year but if you guys like it maybe it can continue with more than one character per page in future when I'm properly organised and not a ball of panic lol.
Anyway, feedback is welcome, I hope to have a page ready by the end of the week. My goal being to finish backgrounds before releasing them so they're easier later.
