Just in case you wanted to know what you're saving for, here a complete list of things I will be happy to draw in July (and what I won't). This will include things I don't normally accept and emphasis on things I'll be super happy to accept! So let's get the won'ts out of the way first.

Is that something you'd all like to see as a way of noting my progression? Or would you all prefer to keep your personal commissions private?
It's kinda all or nothing here. I do it for everyone unless individually requested not to each time.

July Sneak Peek No. 1

Here's a tiny insight into what I'll be doing in July!
First off, and I think I've mentioned this, commissions will be open ALL MONTH!
My queues will most likely get nice and fat so I can only suggest applying early.
Secondly, I'll be offering a lot of subject matter than in the past I've either turned down or said I won't do.
There will still be restrictions, but those who've gone "WILL YOU DO THIS?!" and I've gone "Mmmm probably not..." should most definitely ask again.
This will be limited to July however. So if you see uncharacteristic things popping up in my gallery never fear, it won't be continuous.
There'll be heaps more stuff like specials and auctions, but more on that as time draws near.
Hope that's a little something to get excited about!

EDIT: Nevermind guys... I bought one...
With potential travel interfering with July and the possibility of taking on more than 2 cons next year I was hoping to look into a more portable way to work on digital art than my laptop. I've spoken to a couple of people but would like further opinions as buying a computer tablet... Thing is an expensive prospect for me. Just in general, how does working on a surface pro or anything of the like compare to working on a computer? Is it worth the investment or should I just stick with my Mac for travel?

FurDU queue is being kept separate for now.
All other commissions are currently priority especially the overdue queue. I hope to be back on track by the end of the month.

Heya! I'm back from the Gold Coast and missing that tropical sun already. I'll be heading off to pick up my cats and computer tomorrow and hope to be back in action by Thursday at the latest.
I won't be opening for any commissions in June. My queue after the con is officially too long. I have a lot of emails to send and a lot of art to do so forgive me if I'm blunt, slow or simply all business over the next month or two. Next opening is officially July 1st no matter what. I'll try my best to work through my current queue in order but I may combine the con queue and you guys just so I can mix up larger commissions with smaller ones.
If there are any changes to the info above I'll let you know. If you have any concerns feel free to contact me. Thanks so much guys, I appreciate you all a butt load.

Two Week Hiatus

I know I was clear last time but this is just a reminder that I'm out of action for the next two weeks. This includes me doing anything to existing commissions, future commissions and past commissions. Put simply, my computer and its cables are in two different places so I couldn't access your files if I wanted too.

About Next Week and Beyond

Hello everyone.
Once again I must thank you all for your extended patience and support.
Okay so in the week ahead it is unlikely I will get any digital work done at all. Tomorrow I have a full day of work (my last day at work) and that's followed by dinner with co-workers as I say goodbye, so no art tomorrow (unless you count my bumming around at the register.) On Sunday, Monday or Tuesday I will be heading off to drop my cats and computer off with my mum so she can take care of them (YES MY COMPUTER... don't ask). Whichever of those days I'm not doing that, I'll be preparing the remainder of my stock for FurDU. Wednesday is my birthday so you can all get stuffed, I'm gunna do whatever I want!!! And Thursday I'm off to FurDu which will take up the remainder of the week. So work, travel and not having a computer because reasons, yeah, no work done. Plus upon my return I must also collect cats and computer so add another day or three to that.
When I return the following week (provided the con goes well) my commission queue will be long... LONG! So it may be mid June or later that I'll open commissions again. Also take into account that around mid-late June I will be moving house so hey, take another week out of my schedule. If I make enough money at FurDU to last me the month I will probably hold out until July 1st, and I'll post more info about that when the time comes. Hopefully by taking no commissions all June I may just kick this queue in the butt.
So everyone on my queue right now I must ask you to be patient for the next two weeks. I've updated the overdue queue and you guys are my priority but I simply can't knock those few commissions over tonight with work in the morning, and today was my last shot. I hope to get through most, if not all of you by knuckling down in June. July completion at the latest!! I don't like giving 2 month estimates but that's how unorganised I am right now. Post charity month I hope to strangle my work load back down to only 10 or so commissions at any one time. Fingers crossed this move makes me more productive.
Again thank you for your support and a HUGE thank you to those who watch my streams. I really appreciate the attention!

Commission or Auction ideas for July

So my big money raising month creeps closer and I have some big plans. Stuff I've never offered before and a lot of things with my own characters! I need to make commissions enticing as possible because I really want to have the funds available to make some kind of difference.
So, what would entice you to get one, or many commissions from me (with the next month or two to prepare your wallets) :3
Maybe something you've seen other artists do and want me to do?
Maybe there's something on my not draw list that'd make you super happy if I did?
Maybe there's an idea you just don't think I'll tackle under normal circumstances?
I'll be far more flexible for that one month but I'll have to make an event schedule too. For that I'll need fresh ideas from your perspective! Something beyond what I could come up with. And if you guys have no ideas for me, well at least I have a fair few of my own ;)

Animal Suggestions?

I did this on facebook and people were pretty happy to get on board!
So you see the pics I posted yesterday, well 3 of those were suggestions/requests from furs on facebook because basically I was having a great time drawing them but was having trouble choosing for myself. I still have a few to get through but hey, if you guys wanna add to the pile of suggested animals for me to draw portraits of, go for it!
Guidelines: The animal must suit the paper. Try to stick with brown, grey, white and black variations of markings.
If you don't believe how important this is then go check out the leopard in the first one... it's eyes are supposed to be blue.
All portraits will be from photo reference, be species specific if you can. Oh, and one suggestion per person.

So far I can't accept any commissions due to so many form errors (which leaves the door open to those who read carefully).
The everlasting need for money always has me break my word about not taking commissions for a while.
So this time I won't say anything. I don't know what likelihood there is of me taking more this month or not. *shrug*

Little Update

First off let me once again say, please don't re-post my work, especially on sites like instagram, unless you commissioned the piece or own the character. If you want to repost my work on tumblr, reblog from my tumblr. If you want to share a piece on facebook, share from my facebook. If it's not there yet, give me time to post it. And again, instagram especially because it automatically crops my work (something I don't allow under any circumstances) and most people don't even both to credit the artist. This isn't up for discussion. If you appreciate me and my work, just don't do it okay?
A quick message to anyone whose commission was completed in the last week or two. I'm a bit delayed on sending out the high res files due to work on the weekend and going to see houses etc. I'll be sending everything that's done out to those waiting at the end of this week. Also anyone from the last month who didn't get their high res and wants it let me know, I think I may have missed one batch.
In terms of commission productivity. I'm going to try and have all overdue commissions complete by the end of this week. Check my queue to see if that includes you. As for everyone else, FurDU may soon have to take priority. I will sketch as many as I can but they may all be facing June completion. In addition, the likelihood of me taking many commissions in June is minimal and dependent on how many people commission me at the con.
I ask that all those who are happily saving for any art from me or waiting for an opening, save you money for July! Those who were with me last year will know I started a tradition of having a charity month. Commissions will be open all month and 10% of all earnings will go to a charity of my choice. More on that later, there's a little info on my profile page.
As a teaser let's just say Kita may be a little more available than she has been in the past...
So overall I ask for your continued patience. Anyone waiting on prizes or any free stuff I ask you to hold out for another month or two. I will soon be adding those images to my queue.

We're back here again... SILV CAN'T PRINT SHIT BECAUSE SUPPLIERS ARE TERRIBLE land.
Relying happily on 1 - 3 day deliveries I figured this round of attempting to get my prints done would be easy. I have my printer. I have all the files ready. Let's go right?
Nope.
Officeworks... I think I'm the only person who owns the printer I use because it looks like I've bought Officeworks out of the ink I need, well, the grey cartridges anyway. So I have one and a bit left to use while I face that dreaded 14 - 21 day waiting period that, last time, meant they somehow LOST an $800 printer in their warehouse. But no, they won't lose two tiny inkies... surely not.
And the paper. I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I found this supplier. However the first time around when I paid for super speedy delivery (stress week 3000!) it took 5 days and was delivered by their standard service... wasted $15 that was. This time they've sent me two packets of the wrong paper. I kind of hope this will work out as a win where they replace my order and I get to keep what I've got because I'll use them for badges and stuff. But still. I wanted to spend tonight printing because I didn't feel like drawing. Instead I guess it's another night on the couch cutting out stickers.
I just want this shit to go smoothly for once. What is it with me and not being able to get shit even a month in advance?

Hello again everyone.
This is just a short announcement that the first batch of commissions from this round have been chosen but I'm willing to take a few more, hopefully to keep me fuelled in terms of funds for the remainder of my con prep.
So if you want a chance I can only suggest to get your applications in. I don't know how many, if any, more I'll take before FurDU. Less than 24 hrs to go.

SPONTANEOUS WEEKDAY OPENING!
I need ink for my printer and seeing as it eats ink fairly quickly I was hoping to get 2 - 3 of each cartridge so I could get all my prints done. Which could cost me upwards of $300...
So rather than wait for the weekend I figured I should get on top of it... FurDU is too close for comfort! I need some display stuff too.

Artistic Freedom Changes

I did it... I smooshed all my commission types onto 2 forms! General commissions and Character References are now the only two different application forms you'll have to deal with. The trick will be reading it carefully so you don't fill out stuff you don't have to, but I think I've made it clear.
"OMGOODNESS my precious Artistic Freedom commissions are gone!!!"
Nope, they've gone the same way as Con badge commissions. Both are still very much available but you must select an option on my form now. This will ensure you know the exact quality and type your commission is going to be without simply throwing random amounts of money at me. It also means that now ALL commissions (except for refs) will have that option, chibis and little ferals too! But wait, that's not the best part. By giving me artistic freedom, in return for receiving no progress updates you'll get 20% OFF your commission price!! Initially I was adding more detail than what was paid for anyway so this was an easy step.
BOOM!
Okay I'll shut up and get back to work.
Pay What You Want... with a twist?

No I'm just going to float an idea past you guys :D
I had this thought... it was a strange thought.
When the day comes that I have money and stuff and my queue is under control I'd like to try something. Rather than the old 'pay want you want' commissions that I've seen that often leave the artist short changed, I wondered about trying 'pay WITH what you want' commissions. WTF are you on about Silv? Well basically, for one commission opening (or a whole week, I dunno) I'd basically say you can pay me with what ever you like so long as it meets the value of the commission you pay for. I'd choose the payments that suit me best (I'm not going to accept like... a horse or something) and then when those payments come through or are at least confirmed... commission time!
The idea in my head has ranged from general gifts sent to me, to gift cards or even commissioning someone else (maybe someone I wouldn't be able to afford generally) for one of my characters? I dunno the idea sounded cool to me. To not be reliant on just money but to be more creative. For some people it may work out better because you may have easy access to something I might like or it could just be a little extra fun in the whole commission process.
I don't know if this would be too difficult or too risky, I've never really seen it done. Might be a fun thing around Christmas time, I dunno. Thoughts?
Artist Spotlight - Give this user some love!

A while ago while streaming a young, talented artist was brought to my attention.
Today I read that they quit their job to ease their anxiety and pursue art as a full time job exactly like me. But I notice that despite their high quality artwork (they've got anatomy down, much more than I do) and dirt cheap prices... for real I'll commission them the second they open, their following lacks the number they deserve.
I know this person is saving for things but due to a backlog they're hesitant to open commissions. So I say let's give them as many watches and words of encouragement as we can and bring a new full time artist into the world! Hopefully a surge in attention might encourage them to raise their prices and charge what their work is worth! And also get so much closer to their savings goals.
While I catch up on my own queues, give this person your attention and business!
