Thanks so much to those who bid. I'm trying my best to recover my savings after a few bills and events drained me a bit and I can't take as many commissions as I'd like because then everyone would have to wait forever.
Because!

Progress Update
Posted 9 years ago
Just a general update, I'm just as tired of apologising for being slow as you guys are of hearing it so here's where I'm at.
Queue as it stands: One commission nearing completion, five others sketched, four of those are either approved or not in need of approval. Those commissions are marked with a green strip.
All others have not yet been started.
How the queue is laid out on my dash: Basic order at the moment goes - regular commission, IA, head shot - rinse and repeat. Regular commission alternates between whatever needs to be done (chibis, refs, full bodies etc).
I am doing my best to work in that order but often I gravitate towards some commissions over others. At the moment I am struggling to complete larger commissions and will often take priority on faster ones, I apologise for this.
This week as it goes:
Today - Had my one entire work shift for the month, only minor sketch edits were done.
Tomorrow - Have to take a trip out of town, most of the day will be taken up.
Rest of the week - at this stage nothing but art.
Commissions from the weekend, I have not added you to my queue yet but I have received all payments. Bare with me, you'll be added the moment I can sit down to work again.
Deadline of having everything completed by mid-May is increasingly unlikely, so it'll just be an everlasting cycle of waiting and I thank you for your patience. Digital commissions WILL be available at FurDU (maybe even a couple at special prices!) so in the two or so weeks leading up to it I will not be taking more commissions. June may well be dedicated to completing what I take at FurDU and any overdue from now. (AND THOSE 5 CONFURGENCE COMMISSIONS I HAVEN'T DONE YET... because I'm awful). Also I'll be moving house (again) so bleh. July will be 'Silvixen's Charity Month' (charity to be announced in late June) and so commissions will be open all month. Then another couple of months of catching up on overdue stuff I guess. So that's what to expect from me this week and in the weeks to come.
If... IF you have a deadline and you're in my queue do not naturally expect me to meet it. Please let me know that deadline and the reason for it and I will judge whether your commission should be pushed up or not.

Thanks for the input on my previous journal guys. I have the info I need for making any future decisions in relation to fur and sharing it with the fandom.
Animal Products - Your Thoughts
Posted 9 years ago
There's been a question floating around in my mind for a while now so I figured I'd throw it out there and see what kind of reaction I get.
I've found numerous artists and furs alike who use or wear animal products. There are art dolls made with rabbit or fox fur (they look amazing btw) and furs who like to wear real tails.
What are your thoughts on this? I'm not asking about your opinion on fur trade exactly but rather the relationship between animal products and the fandom.
If you saw someone selling animal tails at a convention would you find this interesting, would you be indifferent or would you find it lacking in taste?
Does the source of the product effect your opinion? If you were given a full history of where the product came from would this be appealing to you?
Comment away! Keep it friendly, I have a suspicion there will be vastly different opinions.

Hey everyone,
My commissions are now closed. The people I chose should now have a message in their email and an invoice.
Those whom I didn't choose will have a much greater chance of being chosen next time so don't worry. Sorry if you missed out.
Thanks to all who applied.
Some forms that were filled out incorrectly. All I ask is that when you all apply please read the questions carefully and make sure you're aware what type of commissions come with what things (for example, sketch commissions don't come with backgrounds but a lot of people were asking for them). Also all my forms have been updated/replaced and a few applications came through on my old forms. I don't know where you hunted down the old links but please apply via my website, not from outdated links on FA.
Commissions Open - Please Read First!
Posted 9 years ago
Please read ALL of the following information before applying for a commission this round, it applies to everyone.
Terms of Service - I have revised my Terms of Service and all future commissioners must please note a large change. This is the introduction of the 'additional charges' terms. Most are straight forward and common with commission artists but one I will detail here to hopefully stem any confusion.
- A 'ref image' charge will be added for failing to provide a character reference that clearly shows all character details and colours in one image. Specifically a character reference sheet is an image designed to show all aspects of your character with easily selectable colours (flat colour or providing a colour chart) where all markings of the character are visible. (Exceptions made for Character Reference commissions and case by case for Artistic Freedom should you want the artist to play with the character design.)
To explain this in extremely clear terms, if you do not have a character reference you will be charged up to $10 AUD extra per character that doesn't, EVEN if you are commissioning someone else's character. This also applies to ref sheets that are unclear (missing details, inconsistent markings over views etc.) This is due to many instances over the years where I've been pulled up on a colour, markings or accessories on a character that weren't clear or consistent over the 3 - 4 ref images I was given. Also it's impossible to colour pick for markings on a fully shaded character.
For the sake of being blunt:
Reference Sheet: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19664120/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19691722/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12308128/
NOT a Reference Sheet: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14168536/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13441471/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7755396/
There are dozens of free character templates out there for anyone to use as well as even more friendly artists willing to make one for you. If "I can't afford a reference sheet" is your excuse then I guarantee you there are ref sheets available for the same price you would pay for any commission of mine (I've genuinely seen decent refs offered for $10 or less), low quality is better than nothing. Or... you can commission ME for one.
Please make sure to read my ToS before applying, there are other small changes. I know this isn't a popular decision but complaints will not change my mind.
Commission Prices - I have rearranged my prices something crazy! Small price changes have been made, some were actually lowered, none are all that noticeable (even I can't remember which ones I changed). Also as you should know, I have a few new commission types available. These do not have examples yet but there are some in my queue so I'll work on providing examples too. (Those people please don't panic about not seeing yourself in my queue, I'm waiting til I can re-arrange my trello so the categories fit my prices. You're on the bottom anyway... sorry.)
"BUT WHERE ARE THE CON BADGES AND AVATARS?!" you may cry. All general commissions (that's all full detail, cell shaded and flat sketch) are available as con badges, and all head shots will be suitable for avatars. With con badges there is now an option on the form, so rather than select a background for your image you can select to make it a con badge. Simple eh? If you want, little ferals and chibis may be badges as well, just specify in the notes at the bottom of the form.
The Process - I have been wanting to do this for SOOOOO LONG!!! SO LONG! I'm still not convinced I'm popular enough to but meh. From now on when I open commissions I will not be offering 'slots' as per usual. I will be opening for a specific period of time and then choose the commissions I want to do from the applications submitted. If you miss out one time you increase the chance of being chosen the next time. All applications not chosen will be deleted so if there are long descriptions for your commission and you want to try again after not being chosen, I suggest you save that info somewhere safe. Sometimes I will post a small list of things that might have a greater chance of being chosen (cause it's stuff I feel like doing). This won't guarantee you a slot but it will raise your chances.
Thanks for reading, I know it was a lot. Now down to business.
COMMISSIONS OPEN
ToS - http://www.silvixen.com/terms-of-service.html
Prices & Applications - http://www.silvixen.com/commission-prices.html
Queue - http://www.silvixen.com/queue.html
Commission applications are now open and will remain so for the next 24 hours.
This time tomorrow people whose commissions I have chosen will receive a confirmation email and an invoice. If you do not receive an email you are most welcome to try again next time.
If, for any reason, I am not comfortable with the commission you've applied with I will let you know personally so that you don't waste any time applying with it a second time.
People who miss out will have an increased chance next time around so don't feel discouraged if I don't pick you this time.
Please note the length of my queue, it will limit the amount of commissions I choose at this time.
Things I feel like drawing: Anything, no preferences this round!

Taking My Weekend Early
Posted 9 years ago
Hey guys,
Just letting you all know that this week I'm taking my days off a little early (today and tomorrow) and I'll work on commissions through the weekend.
Cheers for understanding, even if you don't :D
A few more changes will be popping up with commissions and I intend to open a couple of slots this weekend.
Early Opening! Closed...
Posted 9 years ago
Because I'm inconsistent and I know I've got a busy weekend ahead.
I got enough done yesterday to justify opening these slots. These are all that are available for now, please don't ask me for any other type of commissions.
There are no examples of these commissions yet so I need to do at least one of each for my prices. I'll take 2 of each, comment below to claim.
1. Cell Shaded Headshot $30 AUD - OPEN

2. Flat Coloured Sketch Waist Up $20 AUD - Taken

3. Flat Coloured Sketch Head Only $10 AUD - Taken

No Backgrounds!
Please comment with your ref and image details (I have no forms set up just yet.)
New Price Page is Up
Posted 9 years ago
Hey all, my new price page is up and ready to go. (With the exception of the 'apply' buttons. They broken.)
This weekend I'll be offering slots for the commissions that don't have examples yet. All of them are quick commissions so they shouldn't add too much to my queue at all.
I hope you all like the new set up and I hope the images make what you're getting a whole lot clearer. I think this will actually allow me to have all full detail, cell shaded and sketch commissions in one form which will be pretty awesome for me as all my records for those commissions will be in one spread sheet. I'll be working on the forms today as I only had about 2 - 3 hrs sleep and am unsure how my drawing skills will be today.
Ramblings complete, go about your business.
Moon Bear Auction - Ends Tomorrow
Posted 9 years agoPrice Set Up Changes
Posted 9 years ago
This is more of a heads up than an announcement.
Before my commissions open again I'll be doing a massive overhaul on how my prices are arranged on my site and how they relate to each other. This will also mean I'll be altering my forms so those who are used to them may have to look twice next time they apply. At this stage I can't confirm if I'll be changing my prices at all, it'll depend how things look once I've moved stuff around.
The basic idea is to add more range to my commission options without making things too complicated. Everything will be organised (for the most part) into sections that relate to the detail involved rather than the contents of the image. For example all full detail commissions (full body, waist up, head shots) will be moved under one section and one form. This will create options for things like cell shaded head shots, different varieties of coloured sketches etc. Chibis and Little Ferals will come under one form, avatars and badges may also fit under one form too. I'll have a better idea of how my prices compare to each other and will be able to raise or lower them accordingly.
I know I change this stuff around a lot but I still haven't reached a point where I'm happy with my set up so I simply ask you all to bare with me while I work this out. Again commissions will remain closed while I work through my queue. Potentially I may open for one every second weekend or something (as my money is running dry). However soon my attention will have to be given to convention prep and other projects as well.
Anyway thanks for reading.

You're On My Queue
Posted 9 years ago
Hey guys,
This isn't a dig at anyone and I'm not at all annoyed but I've had 3 or 4 notes over the last couple of weeks from people panicking that they're not on my queue but they paid and similar worries.
I just want to say that in each and every case the person has been on my queue. All I'm asking here is that you check and double check (scroll to the bottom) whatever you're worried about. I'm only saying so because of how frequently it's happened and how often the fear has been unfounded. If you've sent a form and paid your invoice you're on there, end of story. I have colour coding techniques with my forms so I can't actually miss anyone.
Okay, catchyas!
Art Theif - Please Help Report
Posted 9 years ago
My attention was recently drawn to this Instagram user: https://www.instagram.com/furryandy/
I've been through and read all of Instagram's info on copyright infringement and this whole account is one big middle finger to the furry art community. Not only are they reposting art en mass without permission, they're removing artists watermarks and any indication to original character ownership like on one of my pieces.
I'm in the process of scrolling through this account and have been at it for over 10 minutes, there is just FAR too much art for me to contact or report everyone I recognise. I've found dozens of artists I personally watch and even more characters I know belong to these artists and my watchers. Artists include (typing from memory) Myself, Naira, TaniDAReal, Eskiworks, Lluin, Falvie, Blotch (both of them), Draggin_cat, Chibi-Marrow, Demicour, Jay-Naylor and heaps more. Characters owners I recognise include DannyDumal. KatanaRedWolf (multiple times), MojaveCoyote, Bronson-Twist, Chesta... and I'm still scrolling because I don't trust that I'm only in there once myself. These are only a few, there are heaps more I recognise but I don't know everyone's usernames off the top of my head.
I personally do not have the time to contact every artist or character owner OR report them all myself (there doesn't seem to be anything stopping you from reporting images on people's behalves if you see copyright infringement.) I ask that if you have the time search for your work, your characters or contact those you recognise. There are heaps of us so if we all take the time we may well just get the account taken down. Remember it's easier to report quietly and get things taken down than to verbally abuse this user. If you want to help please just do the official stuff, it's far more effective.
Thank you. And remember, Silvixen does NOT stand for people reposting her, or anyone else's artwork without permission if you are not a commissioner or character owner.
No Commission Openings For a While
Posted 9 years ago
I can't in all good conscience let my queue grow any further, it's not fair on you guys.
I've eaten into my savings to pay those big bills I had and kept the money you've spent tucked away in the unlikely case of refunds.
Rather than panic about money I'll be using my savings over the next few weeks to keep me afloat while doing my best to really make my queue small again.
This will mean I'll be able to open for up to 5 slots every week again as opposed to 2 and I'll be able to work on some FurDU prep as well.
With all that said, there ARE collaboration commissions open from myself and
BlueHunter that are available for you all to purchase.
I expect these to be pretty easy for me because it's character focus and the background is someone else's problem (perfect scenario for both of us).
Thanks so much for all your support this year!
Slow week

Iron Artists Closed Indefinitely

Yep that's it for them. I need to start knocking back the queue rather than let it grow.
I'll be removing Iron Artists as they are and adding 'Coloured Sketches' to my commission options.
Thanks to all who commissioned one, by the time I'm done I may well break 80 of them!
Patreon Relaunched!
Posted 9 years ago
After lots of planning my Patreon has surfaced once again and this time it's project specific. My comic 'Kin'.
There's a lot of further planning I have to do before paid content surfaces but by becoming a patron now you may access to some of my planning, page sketches, world history and character development.
Thanks in advance to anyone who chooses to support this project of mine and thanks to past patrons who supported my general work.
I have plans for additional opportunities with this comic outside of Patreon such as the chance to have your character in the background of some pages and maybe even naming characters.
Until then, I hope you enjoy my gradual content I really hope I'm able to bring this project to light soon!

Commissions Opening Tomorrow
Posted 9 years ago
I'm organised enough that I can announce in advance for once.
I'll only be offering 2 or 3 slots because... well... head shot queue 'sploded.
Didn't get as much done this week as I wanted but still a decent pile of art. Gotta keep working, I've got two months to clear the queue, prep for FurDU and organise my life enough to move house. Eurgh.
