Hey all!
I've been making some decent commission progress and am super keen to draw faces atm so I thought I'd add a few quick head shots to my queue!

A Few More Updates

Hey guys, sorry for putting you all through my usual journal spam.
I just wanted to let everyone know, commissioner and watcher alike, that I may be trialling limits on the times of day I'm contactable.
Generally speaking I've noticed a rise in my stress levels and weight gain, my dizziness has returned and I have trouble sleeping through the night. I've concluded that my dependency on technology may be the cause and also feeling that I need to be switched on at all hours of the day. So I'm going to be limiting the hours I have to, well, care about messages and emails. Due to time zones I often get messages through the night and if I wake up I tend to check them and cause myself more stress.
So from now on 9am - 4pm weekdays (Melbourne time) are the only hours I guarantee I'll respond promptly to messages regarding commissions or anything else. Outside of these hours it will depend on whether I'm still working or not as this isn't altering my work hours, just my contact ones. Please note this includes emails, notes and whether you'll receive your invoices that day or the next. As per usual I'll be taking weekends off as well, so if you claim a commission on a Friday and wait three days before receiving your invoice, please refrain from sending me multiple messages asking me where it is. It's money coming to me and it's my responsibility, you guys just relax k?
On a final note, I have a lot of bills, payments, rent and the prospect of moving house in June looming over me. A lot of which will hit me in April.
For the next two weeks I will be doing my best to work solidly and quickly through my commissions motivated by the simple fact that I need more money than I'm earning. And that's entirely my fault.
I will be trying to offer more YCH deals and possibly some discounted commissions in the near future. I ask you to take advantage of the Australian Dollar while it's still low and stand by for my next commission openings. I hope to offer you guys some good opportunities to get art and hopefully clear through my queue quickly while I'm at it. Stay tuned, and thank you to those who commission me regularly... you don't know how much it helps not having to rely on drawing in new clients every week. Thank you again!

To be honest it's more slots than I want to take with such a large queue but I've got a car rego bill looming over me so I'll just have to work harder.
UPDATES:
- Con Badges have changed. I am now offering head only badges and waist up badges, the prices have changed accordingly.
- Icons and Pawcons are back after my little personal crisis where I discarded them. There is currently no application form but I'll set it up should someone commission one.
- My queue (with the exception of gifts/prizes) has been moved entirely to Trello. I will no longer be adding new commissions to my website queue in an attempt to phase it out. I will continue to remove commissions as I complete them though. The Trello queue will be updated daily with completed commissions being removed at the end of every week, mostly so I can keep track of how much work I'm doing weekly.
- Soon I may be re-introducing flat colour commissions. Maybe.
- Also feral Iron Artists at a lower price will be introduced.

Posted 9 years agoSo that glorious fur magnet finally made it's official release in Australia and I was there at the cinema first thing this morning along with the entire 3 other people seeing kids movies on a Thursday morning.
What can I say? It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I knew the animation and landscaping was amazing just from the trailers but the character development and story were also excellent. You get all the history of the world you need in the first 5 minutes and everything you need to know about the main character's motives straight after. They really knew what the audience needed to build a clear picture of this universe and how to deliver it quickly and effectively. A world where humans left a niche in the evolution line and every animal decided to fill it. Well... every mammal.
I loved the social commentary on racism, stereotyping and bigotry. So very relevant. And the film is such a great underdog story with an awesome ending not worth spoiling.
Anyway I left the film feeling like a had paws and a tail and a massive grin. I loved it.
I'm hoping to practice that semi-anthro body style for my own projects because I've always loved it and I feel it'd be a simpler way to create my 'Kin' world. So inspiration all round!
And now this little vixen has a tonne of patient clients who probably want their art worked on.

Journal spam today, sorry...
So I conformed and got myself a trello for my queue. My website queue will remain for a while longer so I know my order and stuff but sooner or later I'll swap over entirely.
For the moment I haven't added the Iron Artist queue purely because it's time consuming and I got sick of it while adding alllllll the commissions, so I'll do that later this week.
I'm not sure what this site allows just yet so beware NSFW refs as I pretty much just uploaded what I needed without thinking.
If any current commissioners need me to take anything down please say so but I really like having all this info in one place so it'd be awesome if I could keep the refs and descriptions unedited.

This is a call to any artists watching me that feel they can add something to my work, be they of similar skill or greater.
I already have plans to do collab works with an amazing artist in the next few weeks but I'd like to check out other options as well. This could be for commissions or ych works or even character designs. If you think you'd like to work with me please comment below! I'd love to hear your ideas and how you think we'd combine best.
Finally, there is a chance I may not choose to work with anyone and decide to approach people myself. So please don't take offence if you don't hear from me or I say no. It's not about quality it's about me trying to decide what styles and methods will work well together.

This Week

So you've probably noticed my progress has been very slow lately and I do apologise, especially to those further down my queue.
This week I should be back in full swing. I'm still very occasionally feeling dizzy but that's mostly cleared up, I'm back home for a while now so I have internet normal again and I don't have any personal commitments or work slowing me down. I'll do my best to put a fair dent in my work load and I've set my personal queue (which is basically how I have commissions laid out on my desktop) so that iron artist commissions are every second one so they'll begin very soon.
As for those awaiting prizes and things over the last few months. I'm very sorry that you've been pushed so far back but I have money on my mind at the moment and I really don't have a lot of time to spend on free projects while I'm saving for a house. Plus at this time of year I know I have both my car rego and insurance bills sneaking up on me as well. I know it sounds like a while but I really hope to have that queue empty by mid-year when I'll most likely be moving house... again. As for everyone else, I need my queue clear by late May but I'm sure I'll have added more to it and worked through them as well before then so no panic.
So very very vague time estimates for everyone but I'll do my very best to work in order and finish maybe 5 or 6 commissions this week... fingers crossed.
EDIT: ALSO, I've started playing WoW again. Hanging out on Saurfang trying to level ever so gradually... so I'm there if anyone's bored.
Attending FurDU

Just an official little announcement that I'll be attending and dealing at FurDU on the Gold Coast this May.
Finally having my printer will mean I will able to supply prints of artwork as recent as one to two weeks before the con as well as all new adult prints that I'll have tucked away to view/purchase on request.
I'll also be providing print packs containing all my old prints at various sizes for heavily discounted prices. I'm undecided whether I'll have them as 'choose your own' or mystery packs. Mystery packs will be a good way for me to mix less popular prints with very popular ones so that the supply evens out and I'm not left with piles of the exact same prints so that's probably the way I'll go.
Also I'll have new A3 prints and a larger supply as I did have to get more of a couple printed during ConFurgence. I also have plans for self made sticker packs (glossy adhesive paper.. whoo!) and image keychains which are some of the things I had planned for earlier but yeah... printer trouble.
Finally, provided I'm as organised as I hope to be, I will have a clear (or at least small) digital art queue by the time the con rolls around, so as well as my usual table top chibis I'll be open to take digital commission orders in person! Those will be completed after the con but it'll be a great way to express your ideas to me in person, get on an empty queue and for me to have a bit of extra cash on hand rather than going through paypal.
Depending on the Aussie dollar I have plans for heaps of other products but am limited by what I can afford upfront, so maybe next year for the rest of my ideas.
In a few weeks I'll open up for con badges that I'll be able to print and laminate for you guys as well to be picked up at the con.
AND I'LL HAVE AN ASSISTANT! So no more of this trying to juggle commission chat and selling stock. Hopefully I won't have people waiting for me to finish blah blahing just to buy a print anymore.
Just gotta get my plane tickets sorted I suppose!

Why not now you say? Because I came home to a giant mess and a printer I don't have room for so I'm spending my night cleaning and rearranging furniture. Plus my computer isn't connected to anything just yet as I shifted stuff and now I need to negotiate power points.
So yeah, if I die... It's from moving many heavy things by myself for about 4 hours.

Commissions are slow at the moment. My work space is a kitchen table and it's hard working there longer than an hour at a time.
Also if you paid your invoice in the last week, yes I have it, I just haven't been able to update my site.

AMA - Ask Me Anything!
Posted 9 years agoI need some social interaction, even if it is just online, so ask those burning questions you have stashed away! Preferably about myself or my art, random questions about nothing will be answered begrudgingly.
Also back to the situation where I'm living off my phone's Internet. So no uploads for a bit and commissioners will have to wait for completed commissions to be emailed out. Yay 200mb left and I've been using it for a total of 5 days.

Posted 9 years agoI'm starting to feel better but I haven't had anything fixed yet so I'm hesitant to get completely back into it. I'll do my best to start drawing again on Monday but it'll probably only be half days as I'll be visiting family as well.
Due to the lack of work this week I won't be opening any extra commissions this weekend, sorry guys. I also haven't been replying to notes or emails so if you're waiting for a response or invoice please be patient, I'll look into it when I get back to work, for now I've got one more day of rest/travel.

Posted 9 years agoI've been unable to work at my computer today due to dizziness. I notice this becomes worse if I'm in front of a screen of any kind. I'll be taking a break until I can get my neck/back looked at.

Turn around time is dependant on not just the IA queue but also the commission queue. Please respect that you may have to wait a while for such a small detail commission.

Belated: Yay 3000 Watchers!
Posted 9 years agoIt just occurred to me that in less than 12 months I've accumulated another 1000 watchers to my humble little art pile.
To a lot of you it's just a number, to me it's genuine hope that it means my career could be worth it. Over the last 3 financial years the money I make from my art grows and my popularity grows. This isn't about my ego it's about my livelihood. It means you wonderful people are the reason I can call myself a full time illustrator. It means so much for me, travel, new experiences and the chance to experiment with my craft.
Thank you so much to all the clients, stalkers, watchers, commenters and just... everyone who watch me here and elsewhere. Without you sharing my work around I wouldn't have the opportunities with my art that I'm gradually getting.

Note: My queue is bloody massive. But I still want to be able to open once a week, and with 2 new commissions complete, one sketched and all but 3 of my CFG commissions done, I feel I can catch up a lot faster with all my fresh free time. So please be prepared for a wait time exceeding 1 month.
