July Commissions Closed
Posted a year agoOkay so a couple of important things to note for this time around.
I CURRENTLY HAVE three larger commissions AND three smaller commissions from previous batches.
I have fallen a little bit behind in preparation for Anthrocon which is IMMINENT (NEXT WEEK!!!!) And I have been focusing on commissions that have that as a hard deadline. I am ALMOST DONE with those though, so work will be resuming as normal post-con.
The pre-existing commissions will remain priority over anything taken after that.
All that said, I am once again open for standard type commissions.
There is not a set slot limit this time around but I will be looking to accept at least four.
These are NOT first-come first served and the form will be left up for 48 hours, to close around this time on [s]Friday

THINGS ARE FINE I have been working on a lot of things with the deadline of AnthroCon which is fast approaching!! I'm down to three things total that need to be completed by then and I have been prioritizing those works to make sure they're done in time. As a result, owed commissions that do not have that deadline have been sitting for longer than normal and for that I apologize!! And I would also like to thank everyone for your patience! I will be ideally finishing those last three deadline-havers this week and will be returning to standard commission work either later this week or starting next week. I ended up not opening for anything for the month of March because in February's opening I took a fair bit more than I had initially planned. As of right now there are still three remaining from that batch that I am still working on; these are priority over anything new.
I will be opening for standard commission forms next Monday (March 25th) at 7pm (EDT) and will close on Thursday (March 28th) at 7pm (EDT)
These will NOT be first-come, first-served and those accepted will be contacted via email on Friday (March 29th)

At long last I will be opening for a few larger illustrations for the first time in a very long time now, woah.
Accompanying this opening is the overhaul of my rates, most have been increased for the first time in a couple years and have been broken up differently.
There is no longer a 'base' for each style and the cost is now fully per character. Backgrounds now have their own section and are still vague but now offer more variety.
The two big things that have changed since the last update: There is no longer a character limit. The pricing previously made it so it was significantly cheaper to add additional characters to the same scene so it was more work for less compensation. With this change, there may be as many characters as desired since they now follow the same rate.
The same goes for NSFW upcharge, with the rate increase now more fully taking the characters into account, the $25 upcharge just for NSFW content has been removed.
ToS has seen minor tweaks in terminology, the biggest change there is that I now allow alternate versions (i.e. sfw/nsfw, clothed/unclothed), the cost is case by case depending on how different the versions are.
For this opening I will only be accepting three full commissions that will not be first-come, first-served. Forms will open on Jan 25th, this Thursday at 7pm (EST) , and will be open until Jan 29th at 7pm, after which I will go through the forms and contact those that will be accepted.
In addition to the three large commissions, I will still accept three portrait/chibi commissions; these ARE first-come, first-served, and the cost of them remains unchanged, at $60 USD per character (+$10 to add wings to a chibi)

I have big aspirations on what I'd like to offer so I can continue to grow as an artist and the new layout of my carrd makes it much more convenient to add new things once I have examples to show for them.
ALSO Despite my FA page still being Silvyr, I have more fully embracing the shift in username and theme. Before, I really needed to get away from the first profile I had even though the 'silvyr' identity didn't click very much. I still don't plan on making a new profile again and trying to move everything over, I can stick out using Silvyr on FA until they (eventually? Hopefully?) Implement name changing like they keep teasing.
Lastly I've still been storyboarding that comic I mentioned working on a while ago. I plan on working on proper character sheets for them, maybe. Idk how interested anyone will be in silly self indulgent comic featuring old characters but its for funsies and dragonfucking SO. At the very least it's more practice at comics and panel layout hee hee

Posted 2 years agoOKAY So in my previous journal I did mention that I would be opening for new commissions today, but I forgot to post a reminder yesterday where I would have announced the exact time which is entirely my fault and so I am pushing it back by one more day.
For this opening I will be accepting 5, one less than the usual six.
I am only doing portraits and chibis once again because I do have a backlog of things to work through. I still have two larger projects remaining, and this past month being slower and having gotten sick in the middle of it caused a bit of a hiccup so I did not get as much done as I would have liked. Goal is to finish all commissions taken before this opening by the end of December. Ideally the ones accepted this batch too but at the very least everything from before. I have mentioned taking other projects like YCHs but that won't be until after the queue is finished.
Commissions open tomorrow, Nov. 29th at 7:00pm EST. A link to the form will be posted in a new journal at the time of opening.

Back on Track (General Update)
Posted 2 years agoHELLO HI I AM STILL ALIVE and working through things. I was sick (not covid) all of last week so work was terribly slow for that time but I have since recovered so I am back to working again. I was hoping to have more done by now but that did cause an unfortunate slowdown. WEH.
As many already know, this coming Thursday is Thanksgiving for Americans, so I will probably be taking those days for work to resume on Monday. I will be opening for the next batch of commissions on the 28th and continue screaming about the never ending passage of time.
At the end of the year I will likely be doing a general rates increase for most of my types of commissions, it's been a couple years and I have been putting more time into them so unfortunately it's that time again. I hope that will also mean opening for other projects a little more often.
I do still consistently feel unsure about my style--I understand it's an entirely normal feeling but the struggle of not being happy with it and wondering how I can guide it to appeal to me personally more. The answer is PRACTICE. THE SIMPLE TRUTH is that I still don't spend enough time doing personal art. I am still doing personal projects for VRC, which I enjoy doing very much but I need to maintain focus on heckin drawing!!
Might try and do some designs or YCHs with my characters again? With a reasonable shading style not an over the top painting again like I've tried in the past. WILL HAVE TO SEE.

The time is once again upon us that I must throw wide the gates and accept a collection of commissions. I AM.

Working on those big ones I took a while back, so I will still be limiting slots to those smaller ones to be interwoven between progress on the big ones.

ALSO I WANTED TO BE MORE TRANSPARENT
The REASON that I have been exceptionally slow with commission work is because I have started dabbling in the 3D medium and learning Blender, Substance Painter, and Unity. Anyone who follows my twitter ( And now bsky ) Will have likely seen the projects I've been working on, which is various VRChat avatar pieces for the most part.
I'm really happy with how much I've learned and have been able to do with the help of friends, and have been really happy to enjoy another non-work creative outlet. HOWEVER. These projects take an incredibly long amount time that I'm not used to so in my determination to get them finished or make progress on them, commission work has taken a bit of a back seat, for which I apologize. I started learning several months ago now and those first few were especially bad since that was all of the introductory stuff.
It is unlikely that I'll take any kind of commission for any kind of 3D project, at least any time soon--but I may start selling some assets, like hairstyles, if I can feel comfortable enough to release them.
BUT YEAH THATS WHY IVE BEEN SO SLOW. JOLLY HYPERFIXATION. I am still working on commissions though!!

Okay SO. As per the more usual, near the end of the month I've got to open for commissions. HOWEVER. I am a bit more behind than I'd like so I want to avoid taking on too much more additional work for the month so instead of the typical variety of commissions, I'm going to be accepting a single Reference sheet, which I do not normally offer.
It will be a flat rate of $400 and will be first-come, first-served so whoever claims it.
This will become available in ONE WEEK from today, on June 23rd at 6pm EST.
It will be a sort of 'all the bells and whistles' reference sheet and WILL INCLUDE:
-Fullbody Front and back views of the character
-Fullbody Feral view (or anthro if the character is primarily feral)
-Ventral and dorsal wing views (if applicable)
-Close-up portrait
-Up to three clothing/accessory fullbody chibi side shots
