Back when I first got into the fandom, it was very easy to meet people and make friends. Hell some of my best friends now are people I met online, or at a con by just walking up and saying hello or them doing the same. Now a days that kind of stuff doesn't happen, or if it does it happens much less. I feel sorry for younger furs, because they won't really know the joy of being able to walk up to a suiter and just hug them and bam new friend, or having someone do the same to you. Or being at a dance, or at a meet, and just be able to meet new people. The furry fandom has become very cliquish and trollish over the past several years, and rather they try and fix that issue rules get put into place to protect the special flowers at the risk of the group. It's very sad again to me, that new furs will never know how it was, or get to experience the fandom the way I did for almost 20 years before it started to go to pot.

The room block is going to open this saturday, and I think I want to try going again this year. Anyone interested in having an otter for a roomie? I pay my bills, and only need a bed or half a bed. Chat me up if you are interested.

I believe every police officer should be required by law to have a body cam on, turned on and recording, at all times while in service to the public. Your out to catch drunk drivers and violent people and what not, cool BODY CAM!! The big push back is "The cops wont feel comfie/cozy doing their job if they know someone is watching/recording them." Well boo fucking hoo. I'm recorded nonstop at my job, at all times while I'm on the clock. They can dame well deal with it, or they shouldn't be cops. I could bring politics up into this one, but I wont. Make it also so the cops can't turn it off, and all the data goes to a 3rd party company and the station and officer has 0 ability to delete the recordings or data. For some reason I think if the officer had this on in the area with all the riots right now, things would be a bit different.

Happy Halloween all!! Hehe been going to the gym and eating healthy the past month, and have lost 16lbs so far. I'm very excited. Now that it doesn't suck, I find going to the gym to be fun and something I look forward to. Curbing my eating habbits and making sure I stick to 1500-2000 calories a day has been interesting, but so far paying off. It's easy to not think about a serving size of food and fill a plate/bowl and eat it. But with cutting back and watching portions, now weight the least I have in over 4 years. Hopefully by MFF I'll lose another few pounds. Then I wont be a fat old otter, I'll just be an old otter :).

Now to decide if I'm going to bring a fursuit to Feral, and if so which one. Or just a partial. Last year I didn't suit a whole lot. I was able to fit a fuck ton of stuff into one of those ziplock space saver bags. Still have a few left. I remember when flying only cost you 25$ for your second bag, and you could bring 1 no charge. Now it's 60$ per one way, or 120$ for a round trip, added to the cost of flying to cons for me. Has been for years, just with the price of tickets going up and everything, I'll do less cons. Glad we have one up in Dallas though :).

Throwing more money at someone isn't going to fix the problem. Magically saying "Everyone now makes 15$ an hour min" means that prices are going to go up. A company would have the choice of either taking a hit to their net profit/stock/share holders, or raising their prices because, wouldn't you know it everyone now suddenly has more money. Those of us making more then 15$ an hour would lose out big time, as prices for things would sky rocket to cover company loss we wouldn't suddenly get a 10$ raise to make up for it. There should and will always be jobs for people who don't have a college degree, or just aren't smart enough for a better job, or just starting out. Hell I started out at minimum wage part time in fast food, worked my way up, got a different job, worked my way up, and now make over three times minimum wage. It took 10 years, and wasn't handed to me. I had to work hard, network, and learn a lot of different things to work my way up and around. I don't think people should just be given money, if you want money and a fast car and nice things you either get lucky or you get good at something.

Yeah, got a year contract at the local Gym. Been going now every other day for a week. I'm excited to go, even in the few times I have gone I notice that I hurt less after and can run/walk/bend/lift/go farther. Even worked up the courage to use the public shower to clean off before coming home. Hopefully this with a better diet will help me slim down a bit. No more fat old ugly otter, just old ugly otter :)

Don't forget to bring a towel. Very excited to go again this year, looking forward to it and I could use a few day vacation. Hope to bump into lots of old and new people.

So excited, I just can't hide it. But Camp Feral is a few weeks away. Took off a few days before/after to relax and do things, but I'm very excited to go again this year :).

Plus going to Fogo on Saturday up there. Anyone else I know live up that way? I hate having a car payment, still owe 16,000 on my car. Decided to tack on an extra 200$ a month payment for the principle in the hopes I can get this thing payment gone sooner. Need to just buckle down and not do anything fun for a few months and just pay the stupid thing off. Or work a day of over time a week and put that towards the car. The one big thing, it's a nice car haha. 2014 Mazda CX-5. The 2nd model, so 2.5l engine and a ton of cool features on the inside.

As it says, had a lot of fun this time around at TFF. Got to hang out with a bunch of cool people but sadly missed out on hanging out with others. The con is starting to get busy by the year. It didn't help that I wasn't feeling well. I even got to raccoon it up for a while, and in the parade.

Very eager to have the time off from work and to make the con. Wag is heading down on Wednesday hopefully and we will be there for the whole con. Probably bringing up my otter and raccoon. Maybe the birdy if I feel like it and there is room.

I will be there Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. Getting in around 3pm Friday and leaving around noon on Monday. Rooming with Wag, thinking maybe we should have had another person in the room but we shall see. Debating on bringing only 1 suit and suitcase. But if I do, which one should I bring. The otter or the raccoon. Or bring both and just pay the extra 70$. Hmmmm.

So it's the month of MFF. I will be there Friday-Monday. Sucks missing out on a nicer 5 day weekend, but at least I'm able to go. With how work is going though this will probably be my last MFF ever. Thanksgiving weekend or the week before is horrible in retail.
