July 20th weekend, my birfmass weekend
Posted 12 years agoI'm planning on taking off several days the weekend of July 20th for my birthday. Either going to Houston or Austin/San Ann to hit up the Zoo or Schlitterbahn or 6 Flags or something. I have a few out of towners coming for the fun, but would anyone else be interested in joining in that weekend? Might do something on Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday. For my b-day dinner I am going to hit up Fogo though, I wants all the meats!

This time around they want to get rid of the 40hr work week, as well as get rid of OverTime(OT). Making is so that your company can work you 40+ hrs, and pay you your standard amount with no guarantee that you will ever get any extra money or vacation time. Also, getting rid of some of your vacation/holiday time/pay.
Oh yeah, I'm sure the republicans have the hard American worker at heart when they try and pass this garbage over and over again.

Posted 12 years agoI'm 6'5 270lbs. So I'm not a small guy. I get excited when a cute suit comes up on furbid or furbuy or LJ that I might want. Then I look to see if it would fit. 99% of the time the suit is for someone no taller then 5'6". It has been years since I saw a suit for someone 6ft+. I have even seen a suit for someone 5'6 and 250lbs. So the person was a tiny fat beach ball, but in no way could I get that to fit me with out some major overhaul. So after my fish tank is done with setup and I get lasik, I will have to look into getting a new fursuit of something.
My thoughts on what the gun laws of the US should be.
Posted 12 years agoAs a responsible gun owner, here is a bill I would propose for the USA.
Mandatory CHL/Gun License after you pass a mandatory 'Gun Competence/Law Class'.
Mandatory background checks and 7 day waiting period.
Mandatory serial number and gun registration with the county/state.
If you pass all that, cool get a semi-auto rifle or pistol. You have to do all of this to get a car, and I'm sure people need a car in their life a lot more then they need a gun. If you don't want your name in the magic book that the cops and black hats have, then you shouldn't have a gun to begin with.

Posted 13 years agoFinally finished fixing up my otter. Moved the zipper to the back but didn't like it so removed it and put in a new one, works much much better. Fixed the chest plate and ran a new line of stiches through the seam to make the fur flow better. Fixed up a few random spots. I think the suit looks better now then when I got it :).

My short answer is NO!!. My long answer is; No, because even with protection there would be a risk. Anything dealing with fluids would put you at risk in some way, no matter how small and I don't want to take the risk if I don't have to.
This came up due to a friend who is HIV+ and open about it asking me if I wanted to fool around. I told him in no way/shape/form was I interested. He said how about just a hand job? I said no, because even with a condom on if for some reason it broke and I got jizz on my hand on a cut there was a chance I could get infected. He laughed and said that would probably not happen, and even if it did there was an almost 0% chance I would catch anything. I told him due to the fact that there would still be a chance I don't play with people unprotected, with high risk, or with known risk. He called me 'shallow' for not looking past the risk. I gave him the online finger and left to play Borderlands 2 and think about it. As an adult, I think it is my right to not enter into any risk I feel is not worth it. Now if I went to a casino and gambled away 100$ and lost, high risk with little pay off, but I would only be out 100$. If I played with him and got HIV, my life is fucked.

I met a really cool fuzzy up in Buffalo. Oddly enough a cow, first one I ever met I think. Very cool guy, hit it off well and sucks we live so far apart but so is life. Ate at some local buffalo places and found a taco shop that dumps pepper (as in black pepper) on everything, was good but paid for it the next day. I got to eat Timmies again, really miss that place. Down here we have a few donut places but they are no Timmies.
While at Feral, Question mark left a cookie out on a bunk and I was woken up in the middle of the night to a cute mouse eating it. Tried to club it with a water bottle but it got away. Ended up getting visited by a half tailed chipmonk too. He would just go in and run around and do what ever he wanted haha. One time when CJ and I were sitting on the deck to our cabin, Toots(the chipmonk) ran down the middle of the cabin and into the bathroom. Bandit was in the bathroom at the time and thought we somehow got Toots to do it, no clue how. I made breakfast 3 days, sadly one due to some late night hijinks, but this was the first year I ever went more then once.
I have been going to cons and dances at said cons for 12 years now. DJ M-Pony's set at Feral was the best hour of dancing and songs I have ever been to. EVER. He needs to DJ at every con, and I think I might have came once or twice it was that good. Most DJ's play stuff either too fast, slow, hard, or with bad rhythm to dance. That hour was amazing, and I was sad when it ended. The flow from song to song, the songs picked.. just wow.
After Feral. CJ, Bandit, Cowboy(haha), and myself went to some local Pizza/Wings place. On the menu it said 'Our shit is hot!'. I'm from TX, everything here has spice in it. Everyone ordered Mild. Down here mild is nothing but butter sauce. So I ordered it Medium. HOLY SHIT BALLS it was hot. I couldnt finish my food it was that hot. I think I got a headache it was so hot haha. Good food though, should have went to that Greek place Bandit took me to one year.

Con Report. CampFeral 2012
Posted 13 years agoTook me a long time to figure out what I wanted to type out for this one. I look back at the past 10 years of going to Feral and then this one. Each year I have had a take away after the con of why it was so good, and why it was worth 7 days of vacation and close to 1500$. Sadly this year after all is said and done, I would have to rate this year as a C (70%). Just squeeking by 'was it worth it?' and 'will I bother next year?'. The answer being yes and then probably not. For the past few years I have either been a normal reg, or one set up (Sponsor) and never the top level (Patron). Each year they had awsome stuff that they gave the Patrons and then cool stuff for being a Sponsor. So after last year I decided to front the money and be a Patron. Patron gifts this year were a dollar store light gun, and no raffel so no tickets for that. The weather this year was pretty nice, could have been a bit cooler and more wind but not bad. The food, while edible, was very subpar compared to other years. I did make breakfast a few times and that was good, but lunch and dinner both sucked pretty badly. The bell going off in the middle of the night was odd, but made me remember breakfast the next day. To me, everyone that I used to hang out with at this con was busy. It was also hard to meet new people and just be social. Don't know if Feral has fallen into the 'small con group cliques' but that put a damper on the whole thing. It was a lot of fun to hang out with Bandit and CJ, and the mascot for our cabin Toots. The dance, with DJ M-Pony playing was amazing though.
Maybe I'm just jaded by going so many years, and usually having to fight work tooth and nail to go and this year being so lousy. Posted 13 years agoWent to the doctor today, I have bronchitis. The only good thing about having a Canadian cold is that each time I cough I hear it apologize. Should be up and running in a few days now that I have meds. Luckly it isn't the contagious one.
I do find it rather funny when I meet an Artist or Fursuit Maker for the first time, and I don't fall to my knees and fanboy all over them, they tend to ignore or dislike me. Only a few have ever responded to me treating them like a normal person with friendship. A few have, and we are great friends. But for some reason most furs who make something furry related think they are gods.
Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?
