What do those in an open relationship think?
Posted 13 years agoThink I got all the names set right now. So Guy1 strikes up a convo with me about his mate, Guy2. I myself could never be in an open relationship, and even if I was in a closed one I would hope I trust my mate enough to let him pick his own friends. So give it a read, anything you would have done differently or think I did wrong? Just wondering, finding the current trend is to have 'open' relationships in the furry world. Which is cool if it works for you.
Guy1: hello
silvyshadow: hello
Guy1: Nice to chat with you. You've been a friend of Guy2 for a while, right?
Guy1: He's told me a little about you.
silvyshadow: *nods* Yep yep, and you are his mate if I remember
Guy1: Yup
silvyshadow: whats up? didnt think you would msg me
Guy1: why?
silvyshadow: *shrugs* We dont know one another, but its all good
silvyshadow: whats up?
Guy1: Well, I was just trying to get intoduced to his friends. I mean, yeah we don't know each other, but no reason we can't get to know one another, right?
silvyshadow: True true.
Guy1: So how'd you and Guy2meet up and know each other from?
silvyshadow: It was either AC or MFF a few years back, bumped into one another in suit and started chatting
Guy1: must've been mff 2010.. Are you into the same stuff he is?
silvyshadow: yeah for the most part. I think it was AC09 when we first met, and then MFF 2010 or 09
silvyshadow: It was a while ago anyways haha
Guy1: but he wasn't suiting until 2010 was he?
silvyshadow: it was long enough ago I dont honestly remember
Guy1: You guys still chat and stuff pretty regularly?
silvyshadow: *Nodnods*
Guy1: I just recently got into the ABDL stuff. mainly for him. It is nice to play in crinkles though.
silvyshadow: Babyfur stuiff and diapers arnt my thing so much haha, but its cool that you two enjoy it
Guy1: Aww.. ok. Unless I have names mixed up, you two used to date or something didn't you?
silvyshadow: Nope, just friends and con buddies
Guy1: But have you guys ever thought about fooling around? Even before he and I got together? He said you were a very close friend.
silvyshadow: Ahh, you could have just asked if we have sex. I'll leave that up to him to say, as I dont kiss and tell with those who werent there.
Guy1: So you wouldn't tell me even though I'm his mate? I mean I'm ok with it if he plays with people but both parties have to talk to me prior.
Guy1: That's our rule.
Guy1: Plus I'd like it if his friends were being honest with me
silvyshadow: Correct on the question. I am being honest, and since him and I are friends and you and I just 'know of' one another I dont have to ask you anything.
silvyshadow: If he and I want to have sex, and he says its ok, thats as far as I need to check. Now if he has to check with you, thats between you two
Guy1: I'm his mate though. He doesn't play with you unless I say it's ok
silvyshadow: Then it would be on him to ask you, or not care. But as the act would be between him and myself, if he is ok with it and I'm ok with it then its good
Guy1: no it's not good.
Guy1: I don't like your attitude on this subject.
silvyshadow: I'm just honest. If you trust him, talk to him about it. You will get my stance on it, but nothing more. What happens in my bedroom stays in my bedroom, unless we make videos but thats another topic
Guy1: You aren't beinng cooperative with our relationships rules. You are deliberately tempting him to try to cheat on me.
silvyshadow: You didnt messag me to possibly make friends with me, you messaged me for information and to try and make a deal.
Guy1: No i wanted to be friends
silvyshadow: You can just tell him no sex with me *shrugs* I dont need sex to be friends with someone, but if he says its ok I'm not going to run to you and ask your permission. Until a few minutes ago I didnt really know you were real.
Guy1: I wanted to see if you would want to share things with me since I'm his mate
Guy1: but you want to hide things from me instead
silvyshadow: What am I hiding that you asking your mate wouldnt show?
silvyshadow: if anything this shows I respect my partners and their right to privacy. If he wants you to know, or if he wants to follow your rules he would tell or ask you
Guy1: you would have knowledge of things he likes and i thought you might be willing to help me do more of the things he likes being his friend
silvyshadow: I tend to be more of a one on one kind of guy
Guy1: I understand that but when it's regarding someone's mate it's a package deal. you talk to both of us about everything or you don't talk to either of us at all
silvyshadow: Or I can continue to talk and be friends with him, and not talk to you. Last I understood you were both of legal age to make up your own minds
silvyshadow: Just because you are mates with someone doesnt mean you control them.
Guy1: No. I think he will be blocking you from now on if you don't want to talk to me and be open on everything. When it comes to sex it does.
silvyshadow: *shrugs* If you control him that much then so be it. Haha you cant control me. A word of advice from someone a bit older then you though. If you tell your mate who they can and cant talk to because you are jealous, then you probably arnt right together and sooner or later one of you will figure that out.
Guy1: i'm 31987(I changed this to protect the person) bte
Guy1: btw
silvyshadow: but for now I'm going to block you, chat with him next time I see him or not if you get your way it seems. Have a good one

Camp Feral question for all. Cabin question.
Posted 13 years agoWho wants to be in my cabin, we just need to add one another so that we can be in the same cabin.
My birthing day and my kitty.
Posted 13 years agoSo on the 20th(Friday) of this month planning a trip to Schlitterbahn to do some fun watery stuff, have to being an otter and all that. The 21st(saturday)is party, foods, and go blow up way way to many fireworks somewhere. I have lots haha. If someone is interested in joining in let me know might have crash space, or I can say when we will be at the waterpark if you want to just meet us there.
Tangent, the 2 month old kitten now, is doing very well. He is getting along with both Spot and Kitten and hasnt had an accident out of the litterbox in 3 weeks. He is now up to 4.5 pounds. He tends to lay on my lap more often then not, and sleeps with me on my bed at night. Very needy, probably the most I have ever had in a cat before but he is great.

Stolen from Reddit. About 'Obamacare' and why it is good.

Okay, explained like you're a five year-old (well, okay, maybe a bit older), without too much oversimplification, and (hopefully) without sounding too biased:
What people call "Obamacare" is actually the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. However, people were calling it "Obamacare" before everyone even hammered out what it would be. It's a term mostly used by people who don't like the PPACA, and it's become popularized in part because PPACA is a really long and awkward name, even when you turn it into an acronym like that.
Anyway, the PPACA made a bunch of new rules regarding health care, with the purpose of making health care more affordable for everyone. Opponents of the PPACA, on the other hand, feel that the rules it makes take away too many freedoms and force people (both individuals and businesses) to do things they shouldn't have to.
So what does it do? Well, here is everything, in the order of when it goes into effect (because some of it happens later than other parts of it):
Already in effect:
It allows the Food and Drug Administration to approve more generic drugs (making for more competition in the market to drive down prices)
It increases the rebates on drugs people get through Medicare (so drugs cost less)
It establishes a non-profit group, that the government doesn't directly control, [1] PCORI, to study different kinds of treatments to see what works better and is the best use of money. ( [2] Citation: Page 665, sec. 1181 )
It makes chain restaurants like McDonalds display how many calories are in all of their foods, so people can have an easier time making choices to eat healthy. ( [3] Citation: Page 499, sec. 4205 )
It makes a "high-risk pool" for people with pre-existing conditions. Basically, this is a way to slowly ease into getting rid of "pre-existing conditions" altogether. For now, people who already have health issues that would be considered "pre-existing conditions" can still get insurance, but at different rates than people without them.
It renews some old policies, and calls for the appointment of various positions.
It creates a new 10% tax on indoor tanning booths. ( [4] Citation: Page 923, sec. 5000B )
It says that health insurance companies can no longer tell customers that they won't get any more coverage because they have hit a "lifetime limit". Basically, if someone has paid for health insurance, that company can't tell that person that he's used that insurance too much throughout his life so they won't cover him any more. They can't do this for lifetime spending, and they're limited in how much they can do this for yearly spending. ( [5] Citation: Page 14, sec. 2711 )
Kids can continue to be covered by their parents' health insurance until they're 26.
No more "pre-existing conditions" for kids under the age of 19.
Insurers have less ability to change the amount customers have to pay for their plans.
People in a "Medicare Gap" get a rebate to make up for the extra money they would otherwise have to spend.
Insurers can't just drop customers once they get sick. ( [6] Citation: Page 14, sec. 2712 )
Insurers have to tell customers what they're spending money on. (Instead of just "administrative fee", they have to be more specific).
Insurers need to have an appeals process for when they turn down a claim, so customers have some manner of recourse other than a lawsuit when they're turned down.
New ways to stop fraud are created.
Medicare extends to smaller hospitals.
Medicare patients with chronic illnesses must be monitored more thoroughly.
Reduces the costs for some companies that handle benefits for the elderly.
A new website is made to give people insurance and health information. (I think this is it: [7] http://www.healthcare.gov/ ).
A credit program is made that will make it easier for business to invest in new ways to treat illness.
A limit is placed on just how much of a percentage of the money an insurer makes can be profit, to make sure they're not price-gouging customers.
A limit is placed on what type of insurance accounts can be used to pay for over-the-counter drugs without a prescription. Basically, your insurer isn't paying for the Aspirin you bought for that hangover.
Employers need to list the benefits they provided to employees on their tax forms.
8/1/2012
Any health plans sold after this date must provide preventative care (mammograms, colonoscopies, etc.) without requiring any sort of co-pay or charge.
1/1/2013
If you make over $200,000 a year, your taxes go up a tiny bit (0.9%). Edit: To address those who take issue with the word "tiny", a change of 0.9% is relatively tiny. Any look at how taxes have fluctuated over the years will reveal that a change of less than one percent is miniscule, especially when we're talking about people in the top 5% of earners.
1/1/2014
This is when a lot of the really big changes happen.
No more "pre-existing conditions". At all. People will be charged the same regardless of their medical history.
If you can afford insurance but do not get it, you will be charged a fee. This is the "mandate" that people are talking about. Basically, it's a trade-off for the "pre-existing conditions" bit, saying that since insurers now have to cover you regardless of what you have, you can't just wait to buy insurance until you get sick. Otherwise no one would buy insurance until they needed it. You can opt not to get insurance, but you'll have to pay the fee instead, unless of course you're not buying insurance because you just can't afford it.
Insurers now can't do annual spending caps. Their customers can get as much health care in a given year as they need. ( [8] Citation: Page 14, sec. 2711 )
Make it so more poor people can get Medicaid by making the low-income cut-off higher.
Small businesses get some tax credits for two years.
Businesses with over 50 employees must offer health insurance to full-time employees, or pay a penalty.
Limits how high of an annual deductible insurers can charge customers.
Cut some Medicare spending
Place a $2500 limit on tax-free spending on FSAs (accounts for medical spending). Basically, people using these accounts now have to pay taxes on any money over $2500 they put into them.
Establish health insurance exchanges and rebates for the lower and middle-class, basically making it so they have an easier time getting affordable medical coverage.
Congress and Congressional staff will only be offered the same insurance offered to people in the insurance exchanges, rather than Federal Insurance. Basically, we won't be footing their health care bills any more than any other American citizen.
A new tax on pharmaceutical companies.
A new tax on the purchase of medical devices.
A new tax on insurance companies based on their market share. Basically, the more of the market they control, the more they'll get taxed.
The amount you can deduct from your taxes for medical expenses increases.
1/1/2015
Doctors' pay will be determined by the quality of their care, not how many people they treat. Edit: a_real_MD addresses questions regarding this one in far more detail and with far more expertise than I can offer in [9] this post. If you're looking for a more in-depth explanation of this one (as many of you are), I highly recommend you give his post a read.
1/1/2017
If any state can come up with their own plan, one which gives citizens the same level of care at the same price as the PPACA, they can ask the Secretary of Health and Human Resources for permission to do their plan instead of the PPACA. So if they can get the same results without, say, the mandate, they can be allowed to do so. Vermont, for example, has expressed a desire to just go straight to single-payer (in simple terms, everyone is covered, and medical expenses are paid by taxpayers).
2018
All health care plans must now cover preventative care (not just the new ones).
A new tax on "Cadillac" health care plans (more expensive plans for rich people who want fancier coverage).
2020
The elimination of the "Medicare gap"
.
Aaaaand that's it right there.
The biggest thing opponents of the bill have against it is the mandate. They claim that it forces people to buy insurance, and forcing people to buy something is unconstitutional. Personally, I take the opposite view, as it's not telling people to buy a specific thing, just to have a specific type of thing, just like a part of the money we pay in taxes pays for the police and firemen who protect us, this would have us paying to ensure doctors can treat us for illness and injury.
Plus, as previously mentioned, it's necessary if you're doing away with "pre-existing conditions" because otherwise no one would get insurance until they needed to use it, which defeats the purpose of insurance.
Whew! Hope that answers the question!

About the fursuit sex in public in NJ thing.
Posted 13 years agoSo the facts I have been able to find about the NJ thing so far have been... nothing. No proof of something being shut down, no proof of 'then suddenly' 2 ambulances being pulled, no proof of 200,000$ worth of funding suddenly being taken away, and no proof that people actually did have sex in public.
If people were having sex in public then they committed a misdemeanor and should be fined for it as it is illegal. But as of yet no proof of anything other then a lot of wing flapping.
I also find it odd that a charity auction got setup to send checks and money to a PO Box. I smell something funny with this whole story and what is going on.
Nothing adds up at all, I'm very eager to find out what the 'whole' truth is on this one.
*LATE BREAKING NEWS*
It is also possible that the mayor of the city that all this had happened, made up everything as an excuse to cut funding. So it possibly never happened, and the mayor is just made it all up. HAHA

New Kitten.
Posted 13 years agoI picked up a new kitten on friday, a male that I named Tangent with the help of Gni. After Hooligan passed away, about 3 weeks after, I saw him at the local shelter but he was only 7 weeks old so to early for adoption. Then about 2 weeks went by and he went up for adoption on their website and quickly went away so I had figured he was adopted. Then on friday I stopped by Petsmart and he was there up for adoption (10 weeks old now). What made me drawn to him is of all the cats, he was the only one who just melted into me when I was at the center when he was 7 weeks old, and then when I saw him again he did it again. So now he is mine, and both Spot and Kitten are slowly getting used to him. If you follow me on twitter I post pics there of him all the time, if not here is a link with more on the site.

No AC for me.
Posted 13 years agoWell the boss said no, so no AC for me. Really can't bitch to much about it, was kind of a last minute thing. But luckly I do have Feral and MFF off.
Are you going to AC?
Posted 13 years agoI find out tomorrow if my boss will let me go, but have been looking at flights and what not. I'm worried if I go to AC that I will be bored/lonely and have nothing to do. Not really much fun to go under those worries x.x
Thank you for all the support.
Posted 13 years agoThank you all for the well wishing, it was very appreciated.
My cat passed away on friday.
Posted 13 years agoI have been rather quiet because Hooligan, a cat that I have had for probably 11 years now passed away from a stroke. Needless to say I'm not in the best of moods, so I'm taking Friday through Monday off to recover and collect myself.
More info here, some is personal so I like having it on a friends only lj post. http://morning-dragon.livejournal.com/

Why am I so public about yiffing in fursuit?
Posted 13 years agoThe simple reason is because I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If two people want to have sex, and they are of legal age, they should. Some people like to have sex with their socks on, others in the dark, me when I can in my otter suit. That suit cost me around 2,000$ so I put a lot of care and upkeep into it. I make sure that the suit is clean and fresh. Now not everyone who does yiff in suit takes care of their suit to make sure it isnt icky. But I have seen a lot more people out of suit who would be gross to touch and stank, then people I know who yiff in suit.
Another reason is due to the stigma surrounding fursuit yiff. I find that very funny, and being a bad person I love pissing people off. So I'm pretty public that I can yiff in my suit, but all of my videos and pics are just of me and no one else with me. Why is it ok that someone will draw fart porn and want people to fart on them in real life, or someone who has collections of bloated scat rape gore pig porn to beat it to, but someone who enjoys fursuit sex is bad? To me they are all ok, maybe a bit odd but as long as no one is hurt who cares.
So yeah, I'll be making another video in the near future just to piss off some people, because I can, and because it's hot. I put up this post because I was being talked about on lolz.net and I dont want them to take down the post because it was pissing people off, and someone thought they could shame me into stopping. I have no shame, or care for most people, so that isnt going to happen.

Posted 13 years agoPretty much as it says, was bored while at TFF and with the help of a friend made a fun little naughty fursuit video. As always, dont look if you dont want to see hot fursuit porn. Do look if you want to see hot fursuit porn. Let me know what you think :).

Sweet, Biopsy in an hour.
Posted 13 years agoFinally going to find out whats up with my skin. Going to the Derm again to have some biopsy's (sp?) done. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll know what is up. Taking all bets. Is it cancer, an infection, an allergic reaction, aliens?
So going to be a cut up and grumpy otter for a few days, they are going to take probably 6 1x1" sections out of me.

No rooms at the main hotel at FCN x.x
Posted 13 years agoPretty much as it says. Hotel is far sold out, so looks like no FCN for me due to no one posting about needing a roomie. AC is still a maybe, Feral is a yes and MFF is a probably :).
Booked my MFF 2012 room
Posted 13 years agoBooked a double bed in the main hotel. If 1 or 2 others care to join in let me know. Only thing is I get a bed to myself. So rent would be split 1/2 or 1/3 depending on how many would care to join in. Let me know if interested in an ottery time :)
Who wants to go on a date with an otter?
Posted 13 years agoPretty much as it says. Who might want to go on a date with an otter, where and when? *rudder wags*
TFF in review.
Posted 13 years agoTFF was a lot of fun. Got to hang out with Gni and Orzel lots, but sadly the roomie I was hoping to spend time with didnt end up working out and we more or less avoided one another for the con. Kind of sucks, was hoping to hit it off and maybe date but it's a big no. At least I got out and tried.
Got to hit up WaffleHouse 2x and Steak and Shake once and a few other places. Dragged Orzel around for fun, and hung out at the Inflatables party a few times and a Beer party. I kind of got VERY hammered one night, but made it back safe.
Over all still a great con, but from now on I think it's going to be just me in a bed. I like having room to stretch out, and it makes it easier to hang out and do what ever I want.

Odd stuff, I have a Marci badge, and TFF in 2 days!!
Posted 13 years agoI have.... 200 badges all from different cons and makers. I have a nonbabyfur Marci badge. It's cute, few years old. I didn't know who she was, I just tend to pick 10-20 people per con back in the day and get badges from them. Found it funny is all.
Oh and TFF in 2 days.

Texas Furry Fiesta in a few days.
Posted 13 years agoOtter is all clean and fixed. Might redo the back zipper when I have more time, or just put a fur flap over it and be done with it. Looks ok, but the front looks much better.
I'll probably be bringing my Hookah for some pool side smoking fun if anyone wants to join in. If you want to get in touch with me and dont have my #, let me know or follow me on twitter. Messages on there are pushed straight to my phone :).
