I wish I could leave something awesome behind
General | Posted 6 years agoSome people did, they created art or music or whatever and when they're gone their creations will stand as memorials.
I am afraid that when I am gone, what is left behind will fail to express how much love and joy I feel from having the privilege to meet and spend time with so many awesome people.

i love hallowwen seriously however i hope ive seen the last of assassination attempts for awhile. im fond of the spotlight.
they cut off my twitter, my telegrams, my discords, and threatened me a lot. they also started accusing me of various social crimes, none of which are true since I am a good boy.
sorry, vented a moment.

Why don't you believe in me
General | Posted 6 years agoWhy do furries, a group of people thought to be so loving and accepting, insist so many times that they don't believe my "lovey dovey act".
It really hurts. It's not an act, it's who I am. Is your angry "you've changed" moment so important to you that you'd rather have that than me?
I love you, meant something to me.

My cat is very sick
General | Posted 6 years agoMy cat, "Five", has developed some kind of illness in the past 2 days, he has trouble standing or walking. The vet can't say whats wrong without thousands of dollars on tests.
I just moved to a strange town, I am all alone, I don't own a car, and now my cat is not well. I am terrified and hurting.

I quit furry fandom (awhile ago).
General | Posted 6 years agoI guess I forgot to say this here so here's my goodbye post.
While I am still going to enjoy anthropomorphic art, I quit "furry fandom", at least the socializing. Actually it might be more accurate to say I was bullied out.
Perhaps an explanation is due:
I've always been Simba, that comes before furry. I was a "furry" for 22 years. I had seen people come and go, I'd seen generations of new people going through the same cyclical events in their lives as the generations previous, and I'd seen people "leave furry". But I never thought I would.
I sat on Anthrocon's board of directors for 3 years, and worked for the convention for 10 years. I worked for security at Midwest FurFest for 10 years. Furry fandom was my life.
Yet in the past 4-5 years I've gotten nothing but abuse from every attempt to socialize in this "community". If I talked in a chat it would turn into bullying me, and if I stood up to the bullies I would be banned. The only way I would be permitted to remain is if I never spoke. Well that's some stupid whore shit so I had enough. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'm sure there are people out there who, for whatever their reasons, don't have the nerve to say "Hey, fuck all of you I'm out.". You see them sitting quietly in chats, never contributing.
So next time people start their flowery bullshit about how furry is such an accepting place and everyone is welcome, remember my story. I was kicked out for existing. I was kicked out for standing up for myself. I was kicked out for standing up for others. I was kicked out for identifying and calling out the bullies. I was kicked out for rocking the boat of this disgusting child-rape culture. I was kicked out for being a threat to the whores who run the whole show.
I was kicked out for refusing to fucking die.
Or I left.. you can see it however you want. As I said earlier, I was Simba before "furry fandom" and I will be Simba after "furry fandom". This is, not my loss.
There is no furry "community", and cons are a con.

Furry community website
General | Posted 7 years agoWhy isn't there a large furry community site, with forums and other social things, without being focused on pornography and meeting people to have sex with?
There's a smattering of small furry themed forums, but there should be a community site like FurAffinity. But without the focus on artwork.
It seems like all of the furry social activity is taking place on Telegram and Discord. Which sucks. And there's a lot of twitter activity, which sucks, and there's /r/furry on reddit, which isn't terrible but it's Reddit, it's not OUR thing, it's just our place on someone else's thing.
We should have our own place.

no more "Friends", what now?
General | Posted 7 years agoI have a virtual workspace on my desktop that was reserved for chatting with "friends". Well I'm done with that. Socializing with people has never been a real thing, it's always been a way for you all to hurt me, and that's all you all have ever really done with it. You mocked me, you bullied me, you kicked me out of your "groups" while allowing the worst offenders to roam free, and I've seen you doing it to others .My family, who are all dead now, tried to warn me decades ago what all of you are about. More than 20 years later I can guarantee there will be only hell to pay.
So I'm not going to participate anymore. What should I fill the workspace with? Maybe I should just delete it.

furryblogs.info
General | Posted 7 years agoI've made a wiki for listing furry owned blogs and their RSS feeds, so that our community can be freed of the corporate "Follow your friends" scam. We don't need Facebook and Twitter to keep in touch with each other!
It is at furryblogs.info, and you can add your blog without registering an account or jumping through any hoops.
If you don't know how to edit a wiki table, just contact me via notes or E-mail with the information for your blog and I'll add it for you.
Spread the word! Tell artists you know!

Where to get custom stickers?
General | Posted 7 years agoI want to print some of my telegram stickers as actual stickers. I do not want simple square or round shapes, the sticker should be cut to fit the image, where can I go to order a print job like that?
Patreon is not furry friendly.
General | Posted 7 years agoWhy are we spending so many thousands of dollars every month on Patreon? They are not a furry site. They are not friendly to furry artists.
Why do we as a community flock in droves to throw our lifeblood (money!!!) away on people who don't care about us or our community?
Let's stop. Let's keep our money circulating among each other, instead. Let's Take Their Money instead of giving them ours. That's how we survive.

furlancer.com, linked-in for furries
General | Posted 7 years agoA fur friend gave me the idea to build a website where furries can go to hire other furries.
I love this idea because I think we as a community should encourage and prioritize the economic success of our own people, so I went ahead and registered furlancer.com. I am looking for volunteers who would like to help bring this vision to reality. I can handle some tasks myself but I am already employed full-time in my own startup business so I can't do everything alone.
Is anyone interested in helping? At this stage the first task is to launch a functional website and attract attention to it by making posts in various community sites and chats.
For now this is intended to be a 100% free service.

Are you interested in joining a tech startup?
General | Posted 7 years agoI am evaluating interest from potential partners to join me in a tech startup business.
I am looking for people with a minimum of 10 years of experience (paid or otherwise) as linux system administrators. Programming knowledge, especially web languages, is desirable.
I am also looking for people with a passion and talent for sales.
This isn't a job offer. I am mostly seeing if there are suitable partners out here, maybe something will come of this but I don't want to get anyone's hopes up prematurely. And if something were to develop there would not be a steady or reliable salary to start, any revenue would be entirely dependent on the success of the business. So this is best for someone with a lot of free time who would like to do something more with their skills and their time.

General | Posted 7 years agoI think that survivability in space would be significantly improved if Starfleet would stop packing every computer terminal with explosives?
Seeking Logo Artist
General | Posted 8 years agoI am looking for a logo artist who understands the ARMM model of Logo design. I can pay.
Any interest in a "Furry Exchange" site?
General | Posted 8 years agoSometimes when I want to give away things I usually try to give furries the first shot at it. I wonder if there would be any interest in a website that allows furries to post items for exchange to other furries (not for sale or auction).
If there's enough interest I could volunteer to get the ball rolling.

furartists.com, a low cost alternative to patreon
General | Posted 8 years agoA new website is being created strictly for anthropomorphic artists. The address will be https://furartists.com and the plan is to collect only 3% in fees from pledges to cover operating costs.
Only furry artists are being invited to join but content will not be restricted to only furry art, so if you create in other mediums also, you will be welcome.

Why give Patreon a % of your earnings? Here are alternatives
General | Posted 8 years agoIf you're a furry artist selling art, commissions and subscriptions, I want to offer you some alternatives that I have discovered operating my own business. These assume that you have a website built on WordPress, which I strongly recommend.
WP-Invoice: For one-off charges, commissions and things of that nature, WP-Invoice is free and very easy to use. It works with several payment gateways including PayPal and Stripe.
SUMO Subscriptions: If you're currently selling 'premium' access to your work via Patreon, you could save some money by setting up your own website to collect subscription fees. The SUMO Subscription plugin for WooCommerce (Free) is only $40 one-time, and works with Stripe to provide free subscription services (Regular 2.9% + $0.30 credit card processing fees do apply)
Compare this with what Patreon charges. They take 5%, plus transaction fees, which their website says average 5% (way higher than normal, which is 2.9% + $0.30 per). That's a whopping 10% of every transaction! Way too much.
I expect some of you might think Patreon brings you more sales but is that really true? I don't see any reason to think that. I think Artists gather their Patreon subscribers from posts on art galleries and social media. You could just as easily direct them to your website. You could do this while keeping a Patreon account and urge your folks to choose your website first so you can collect all of the money, which you deserve.
This post is not an advertisement, I am not affiliated with WordPress, WooCommerce, SUMO or WP-Invoice, I just want to help my fellow furs make a bit more money from their hard work. If you have any questions about how to set this sort of system up please don't hesitate to ask me, I do this stuff for a living so I'd be happy to offer advice for free.

Welcome to my new home!
General | Posted 10 years agoI've wanted this account for a long time and finally it is mine.
I apologize if I dont send thank yous to everyone who follows me, I expect quite a few from my old account and I dont want to spam anyone so I probably won't send any thank yous for a month or so.
I will be slowly uploading my art and writing during the next few weeks.
