Posted 13 years ago here, Just letting you all know that is doing a LOT better and has been since week 3 of basic. This coming week, week 6, is what's known as BEAST. It sounds 'scary', but it's an acronym. Basically, it's just a mock combat exercise letting the recruits use and show all they've learned over the previous 5 weeks. Monday is briefing and going over everything they've learned, and from early Tuesday morning until Friday afternoon, any time is fair game. It's all safe, no need to worry, the only thing the recruits will lose is some sleep.After BEAST, it's smooth sailing until graduation on June 22nd. You all have no much I would kill to be there for him, but alas, the money literally isn't available to get out to Texas :'(.

I'm naturally worried about him, but I know he can do it, after the first few weeks, it'll get 'easier' on him. I think the worst part for him has actually been the tiredness. Going from Germany to Texas and getting tossed right into basic has him super jetlagged, but it can't be helped :'(.
I miss him so much, and I know he misses me, he's written as much. Oddly enough, I haven't slept the past week until last night after I received his first letter. I hope he can adjust to the new timezone, then he has one less thing putting strain on him.
