A Little Update / Wedding is 54 days away!!
Posted 7 years agoSo I really don’t post here very often, I don’t check things nor do I fav things anymore. Furry has just faded away from my life, for the most part. But for those that are friends here, and would like to know what’s happening with me: I’m getting married on November 12 and we’re very excited! I’m almost done with my schooling for the time being and I have a great job that has amazing benefits. I’m really lucky & blessed to be where I am right now, with my absolute soul mate. We adopted a beautiful black & white kitten over the summer, so we have two fur babies now! Nala & Boots! Our loves! Christian has been working so much lately and we’re just getting used to the new normal around here.

Posted 8 years agoChristian and I just enjoyed a beautiful trip to Lake Havasu with some really good friends! We spent his 25th birthday there in what was the hottest heat I've personally encountered. However hot it was though, we had a blast! We got towed behind a boat and rode a jet ski. We even lounged around in the water when it turned dark, and that was one of my favorite activities. On our final night there, as we were attempting to surprise Christian with his birthday cake, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said yes and now we're getting married sometime next year! :D
With the engagement, a new book is being written. The chapters in the last 24 years have been ended with a beautiful trip. That's been closed and now we begin onto the next book that features Christian as my fiancé and later, husband. We're very excited to take this journey together!

Obviously, I don't utilize FA very much anymore. So if you're reading this, thanks for staying with me all this time. I guess first I'll start by saying: I AM attending a con this year and it happens to be two weeks away! I'll be at Arizona FurCon Friday morning - Monday morning, so if you see me, stop me and say hi. I just ask that you have respect and good manners when doing so, or I will call you out on it and ignore you going forward. I WILL be fullsuiting this con, for the first time. My beautiful suit was made by headsandtailsstudios and no one will see it until that Friday, so no picture yet. But by all means, go and commission them! They have great quality and affordable prices. Possibly the BEST suit maker I've ever commissioned.
the420wolf and I are still going strong 2+ years into our relationship. If you know me, you know how well it's going. If you don't, well let's just say, it's better than amazing. :)
I started college in February and it's proven to be a task well worth taking. I'm in the top 3% of my entire school and it's a great feeling knowing that my hard work is paying off. I'm a Nursing major for those wondering. I've also changed jobs. I work for one of our school districts in San Diego - I work as an aide for Special Needs children. One of the best decisions I've ever made. It's the most rewarding thing I've ever done and I'm grateful for every kid I work with.
This last year has been one of the roughest I've gone through. My cat, Nala began to have liver problems in the beginning of the year. We got that resolved, $800 later. My car also had problems within the same 4 weeks - both times my check engine light went on. But I also got that resolved. At finals in Spring semester, my biological father died. I've been dealing with the aftermath that for awhile - I gained a lot of new "family" since then, including two little sisters who I absolutely adore and love with all of my heart. They made the transition a little easier than expected.
This is all I'm gonna leave for now. But I haven't talked to the majority of you in a REALLY long time; we're talking a year+. So if you read this, I'd really love it if you could leave a response and let me know what's new with you! I'll be sure to check back and respond if I see anyone commenting.

Another Brother Lost
Posted 10 years agoThe SoCal community has lost yet another talented and wonderful young man. Jasen, we didn't talk much but we knew each other. I remember seeing you all around the PS, Califurs, even Antheria. My heart hurts for your friends and family; I've cried tears knowing that we've lost another brother in our community.
In times like these, we all pull together as a fandom and we reminisce over little memories. May you RIP

Posted 10 years agoHonestly, BLFC sucked for me and Target. We ended up kicking out our roommates the first night there. And the partials that were to be presented were not finished. The artist of my suit used horrible time management and thought it was okay to give me a rushed suit as she started it about two weeks before the con date. Seams started tearing with less than five hours of wearing it. She also collabed with Hunting on a gift partial for my mate, but apparently, that was the reason she couldn't finish mine (I commissioned her in October, with half of the overall total paid made in December... she had PLENTY of time to get Sin done before this second project came up (in April)). She lied to me several times about items that were not done (when she said they were), she missed several deadlines and I'm still missing actual pieces of my suit. The agreement was to have it done by BLFC and well... it's not. She knew the consequences of this (as about a week to the con I had barely any WIP updates, I messaged her and threatened her with an artist beware if the suits were incomplete) and now I have to follow through. FA TOS states that I can discuss business experiences as long as I do not harass said person. SO. If you truly wish to know who I commissioned and you feel like you want to help by spreading the negative word (in a non harassing way, of course) about this artist, please go ahead and note me. I'll be more than happy to discuss this with you. As of Saturday night at BLFC, I have refused to discuss this any further with said artist as she thinks she didn't do much wrong because this was wasn't finished in part of her working on a free suit for my mate (mind you, I did NOT ask for this.. another artist went to her with this idea and she agreed to do it. I simply accepted the offer.) and she has flat out admitted that she will say nothing more on the matter. Just as a quick note: she did offer to fix the suits for me, but she's lied to me multiple times. In good conscience, I cannot give these back to her as I believe she won't get them back to me for several months.. if ever. I'm still waiting on several pieces (as I said earlier).
Back to the actual con... the convention was really well put together and I enjoyed suiting the small amount of time I could. I did participate in the parade and the PurpleFurs Photo Shoot, shot by Simboku. It was so much fun! Unfortunately, it seems that wherever I go, I can't go kart comfortably. I'm too short to drive, but can't fit comfortably next to Target - passengers are meant to be children, not adults. It didn't work well.. Regardless, we did have a good time within the actual convention. I enjoyed hanging out with my bestie, Hunting and having a blast with Target whenever I could. It seems I'm lucky as several con goers ended up with food poisoning - we did not. Just chronic sinus issues.
I really want to be able to make FC 2016 happen. It's been a few years since I've gone, Target has yet to go and I absolutely love the theme. I'm even in discussion with a local fur here in SD, about making some costumes for this! We really also want to attend BLFC next year, as well.
Lessons learned: No more roommates. No more commissioning inexperienced artists, regardless of how awesome their suits are. Drive up in my own vehicle. BLFC Meeeeme :D

First thing first.. My 22nd birthday is this coming Monday - February 9. I'm pretty happy that I'm here to celebrate it with my friends and family! :D
Back in early July, my family was struck with a very (bad)big surprise.. I can't really get into the details, but regrettably, the time has come where we've had to buckle down and deal with, whether we want to or not. Early December, I took a sick day from work due to a slight case of food poisoning and it was great that I did, because that day (insert melodramatic phrase that actually works for the situation) was a day that will live in infamy in my family's life. Surprise, surprise, US marshals were at my grandmother's door. For point of reference, I live right next door in a duplex. Like I said earlier, I cant't get into details but my life has been turned upside down in ways that we thought would never happen.
That being said, I'm trying to decompose, I'm trying to move forward with my life and just deal with life on a day to day basis. The whole one step at a time seems to working well and of course, my sweetheart, the420wolf has been by my side through it all. He's been by my side starting last Califur and without judgement has held my hand, been my rock and shoulder to cry on without complaints. I don't intend on letting this one go.. We're at 8 months strong and looking towards the future.
I'm currently in the process of saving for a vehicle. Hoping to have a great car or truck after BLFC. Which leads me into my next transition..
Target and I WILL be in attendance at BLFC 2015! For one reason or another, I have been unable to attend, what I hear, is a fantastic convention. This year, IT ENDS! We are driving up AND rooming with aztecfox and atreyuismyhomeboy. This convention promises to be THE BEST convention that I've been to yet (I started with Califur 2 and have been to FC & Antheria, as well). I am beyond excited for May to roll around! I intend on being blitzed pretty much the whole con :) Yeah. That's me. I'll also have surprise to bring out... Guess we'll see what that it is! ;)
Pretty much on the home front, I'm just taking it a day at a time. Hanging out with people that are good to me, people that mean something to me. At 22 (3 days until), I'm done playing little kid games. I'm done saying 'What if?' and I'm tired of questioning my life. By the end of this year, I will be enrolled in a college for Nursing and I will get through it. I'm so determined and motivated to make life better than what my mom's was (she's made a decent life for us all, but I want something different, something so much better). I've traveled and I still have lots of traveling to do... Now, I'm ready to move on with my life. It's time to get it really started. Saying I'm excited is the understatement of the year.

Sandy Paws Recap & FAQ

As you should know, August 16 was the 3rd official Sandy Paws! As always, it grew a bit bigger than last year! I met a lot of new faces & a great time was had by all! My dad & Tiberious did most of the cooking, we had a ton of food (way too much) and lots of beverages. I want to thank everyone who came, who contributed and just everyone who came from a land far away (we had Hollywood furs there). I really appreciate everyone!! The spot we resided at was definitely a keeper; I'm definitely investing in a larger canopy, however. Many questions have been presented and because of that, I have included a FAQ section you will find below. My apologies if it is TL;DR.
FAQ:
1.) Is this a monthly thing?
- No. I don't have the resources available to me to do it every month. With desert season coming up, I will be making frequent weekend trips to different parts of SoCal until Spring. I will not have the finances or time to do it every month.
2.) Is there anyway we can make this more frequent?
- Possibly. Several people have come up to me, commented on journals, threads asking if we could do this at least 2 - 4 times a year. I will attempt to make this at the very least a quarterly event.
3.) When will this take place?
- The second Saturday of the month (aka PS Day). Too many people are disheartened by the fact that we (not just our group) are no longer welcome at In N Out. It takes away their suiting experience and the happiness that comes with suiting.. Whereas, the meet that I run is near Misson Beach.. It has the boardwalk, it has the beach, the bay. A small amusement park & restaurants near by. It provides a fantastic experience for those who wish to suit.
The house is too small and frankly, I'm surprised that Rod & Mark have not ended the PS. But I understand why they have not - it gives us a place to convene and be ourselves with people similar to each other. However, it is a huge meet and just not something a lot of people (including myself) have fun at anymore. The chances of you seeing me at PS get slimmer every month.
4.) Where was the postings for this event? I didn't see it.
- I use social media such as Facebook, FA & Twitter to advertise this event. I used what was readily available as I was/am still going through a chaotic amount of family issues. That being said, I did not have the opportunity to advertise nearly as much as I should have (I will look into getting some help on that front for the next event). 5.) What do you to do prevent drama?
- Those that know me well know I cannot stand drama. I avoid it like the Black Plague. That being said, I will ask those that start drama to leave, I will have someone escort them away, or if it comes down to it, police will be called. I will NOT put up with drama of any kind. If you feel like you cannot live up to this request, then I ask that you not come. Period.
I will leave this as is for now. If you have questions or concerns regarding this meet, please post a comment so we can all see them and I can respond accordingly. Please watch for the next event! :)

Epiphany
Posted 11 years agoWhen I went to Mexico (Nov '13 - March '14), I did it under the impression that I would have a great time. That I would be happy and me missing my friends and family would be obvious, but I'd get through that. Well, I didn't. I was extremely depressed on most occasions; I realized that being without my first (my friends & actual family) and second families (the fandom) was something I couldn't handle. I'd find myself getting agitated and pissed off when I should have been at my happiest - or so I thought. In February, I was caught off guard by being told I was coming home. I was struggling with leaving my then boyfriend but coming home to see what was waiting for me. Since May, my life has changed so much (let me try not to be cheesy here). I realized my worth and I realized what my boyfriend was doing to me. He was extremely controlling and manipulative, he didn't understand my friends or why I felt so at home with the fandom. He never wanted me to go out with my friends, he never wanted me to go and enjoy myself at cons/meets. He didn't trust me at all. He made me feel bad for a lot of things I did; he'd stalk where I was and try to get information via friends of mine, that he didn't know. Finally, after realizing that I needed to live my own life, that I needed to get out of that situation for my own well being, I broke up with him. It hurt to break up with him, but it freed me and there was nothing holding me back. I was happy again.
Shortly after, I made the decision to try dating my amazing Target. We had been texting a lot and we even roomed together at Califur (the decision to date came a few days after. We had spent pretty much the whole con together as friends). I don't want to say that I've never been happier because we as young people say that a lot about certain people... So, I'll say this: my life has drastically changed within the last few months, alone. He does keep me extremely happy - he's the most laid back, outgoing & fun person I've been with. He lives life the way it's supposed to be lived. And he's teaching me every day that there's something new and exciting that needs to be done. I've heard other people see us together and later tell me, 'You guys just look like you're supposed to be together.' He fits to me like a puzzle piece that you just found after trying a few others. I'd like to point out that while my happiness has increased because of him, I've realized that I can make myself happy through friends, conversations and just doing my own thing. Which is something that not all young people quite grasp. This is an exciting realization for me.
Shortly after, I made the decision to try dating my amazing Target. We had been texting a lot and we even roomed together at Califur (the decision to date came a few days after. Posted 11 years agoIt's that time again! The 3rd Annual Sandy Paws is dated for August 16th, in lieu (w/ permission from Goaty) of the Kearny Mesa meet in San Diego. All of the details haven't been worked out just yet, but ideas are welcome! I'm doing this for you guys, as I've received multiple inquires as to when/if this is going to take place. Well, you've spoken and I'm doing it again! If you have feedback, comments or opinions on the last few meets (Sandy Paws, not SDF meets), comment here or note me privately; I will look at each and every one and take them into consideration.
Please bear in mind, as of this year, I am the ONLY host of this event. Charlie & Blaze have both moved out of state (or are in the process of doing so), leaving me to do the planning and hosting solo. More details to follow in the upcoming months.. I'm also super busy with work & some personal life, so I would appreciate some patience & cooperation! I will do my absolute best to keep you updated accordingly.

Califur Recap :D

Day 1: So. I woke up at 7:30 am to get to Califur around 11 after last minute packing & breakfast... Only to find out my paycheck didn't direct deposit properly. That put me behind 2 hours, I didn't pick up my check until 11:30. On the way there we had three car problems. The car overheated TWICE and as we were pulling onto the freeway after the second one, we popped our tired with a screw. Califur weekend was off to a great start... We finally arrived at the hotel around 1:30. My AMAZING roommates were Juli, aztecfox and the420wolf. They are fairly new to the furry scene in San Diego. We had lots of alcohol and just wandered aimlessly.. Our room was fairly popular for most of the weekend.
Day 2: First thing's first - we need more booze! ADVENTURE TIME! :D It took us 5 minutes to get out of the parking lot... The Marriott's parking lot is crazy. We ended up drinking pretty much as soon as we returned to the hotel. Then we went downstairs, wandered the dealer's den, invited people upstairs and partied haaaaaard. We ordered 4 pizzas, danced in our room, drank, smoked, and just had a freakin blast. We all went downstairs and headed to the pool. Some weird creep guy was there... Didn't like him, so I left him. After the pool, Juli, Kitty, Target and myself headed downstairs to the dance. -I don't dance... at all.- So I watched the other three and ended up in bed about 1 am.
Day 3: ...Slightly hungover with a bad headache. BUT water took care of it. And so did food. What time is it? ADVENTURE TIME! 6 of us, including all of my roommates, all headed to Denny's. What was supposed to have been like a 5 minute drive turned out to be a 30 minute drive. HAH. But we all ate breakfast and headed back to the room... to engage in more drinking! And more friends came over! :D And we gave everyone drinks! :) Target and I headed down to the Fursuit Dance Comp.. That was SO MUCH FUN! I couldn't tell you who my favorite act was even if you paid me... After the dance comp, we went down to the pool and had a good time, relaxing. I did NOT want to leave and I'm suffering PCD. At least this coming weekend there's a meet in SD.
This convention was so awesome. Not even for the con itself, but everyone I hung out with just made it that way. I'm so sorry if I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you! I left and didn't really have the time to find everyone.. I left way later than anticipated. But it was SO worth it. I'm definitely looking forward to the next con and I'm VERY excited about what the future is gonna hold.

Posted 11 years agoI went the May PS this last weekend and had an absolute blast. I took my best friend, Juli, for her first meet.. She had a great time & decided she wanted to become a monkey. She was super excited.
I reconnected with old friends & met new ones, of course. Really, thanks, all, for the great time & all the awesomeness that you showed my best friend!

Hey! Thanks for reading! I know I'm not that active in submitting online, but that should change after I get a camera. Anyway, I started working this last week and it's about to get super busy, which is exciting because paycheck! So I'll be able to, hopefully, attend more meets.
As soon as my debt is paid off and I have a new laptop, I don't have too much I'm saving for, so I intend on having as much fun as possible. If I can stick with this job through the summer, there's a good chance I'll be buying a car by the end of the year.
I've been in constant states of depression as my boyfriend is currently 1300 miles away & it's putting a large strain on our relationship... more than normal. We won't see each other til after July... So, there's that. I also haven't been active in the fandom for about 9 months, so I haven't seen a lot of my friends and that's really depressing. I rely on my closest friends to be my rock when I need them & because there's that connection, it's sad when you see those friendships slipping away, as I've noticed.
Quick reminder for those that don't know: that the San Diego Earth Day Fair is April 27th. And I -should- be there if anyone wants to meet up (unofficially... I don't host meets right now).
And, I guess that's all for now. I love and miss most of you <3

So, there's been a lot of family drama lately (I won't get into it), but it's now official. I'm flying home on March 16. I've been gone since November, with little contact with my friends & family in SoCal. I'll probably spend the first couple of weeks recuperating and calming down with my family, and then be active again in the fandom after BLFC.
Due to finances, I will not be attending BLFC, however, Califur is still up in the air. I want to see all of you bright, furry friends of mine ASAP. I've missed everyone a ton and I turned 21 in Mexico...
I need to party.
So, there's been a lot of family drama lately (I won't get into it), but it's now official. I'm flying home on March 16.
