General | Posted 14 years agoAs usual, a lot of people I know are pretty broke around the Holidays, myself included, but that doesn't mean I didn't get some sweet stuff.
Gift #1: An Engagement Ring- I think getting engaged counts as a gift. Proposed to in the middle of non-functioning (but pretty) fountain in a Christmas light lit park after dark. Say that last bit 3 times fast.
Gift #2: Luxurious Bath Robe Set- The softest, most cozy robe set ever. I'm quite sure it's spa-quality. I would sleep in it.
Gift #3: The Lion King Snowglobe- My fiancee got it for me. I know he did it after I saw it in an antique mall and cried squee at the sight of it. Smart guy. Also, when you wind it up, it plays the "Circle of Life" music box style.
Gift #4: Nikon Coolpix S9100 Camera with Accessories- Really great cam. My last cam was a Coolpix, too. Unfortunately, at the local fair, it was accidentally flung to the ground and the lens was stuck and the camera was trash (and before I could upload the photos from the fair). I'm incredibly excited to use this new one! In this bundle I got a spare battery, a memory card, and a cam case.
Gift #5: Apples to Apples: Disney Edition- One of my favorite games with my favorite company. Just mindblowing.
Gift #6: Clothes and Earrings- No Christmas is complete without a snazzy new getup.
Before midnight, the start of the Christmas day, I cleaned the entire apartment and prepare Christmas dinner for my fiancee who had to work. Herb baked beef tenderloin fillet, honey-glazed carrots, butternut squash soup, mashed sweet potatoes, rolls, and lemon cake. With some sparkling cider, a glorious mini Christmas tree, Pandora Christmas station, and some dimly-lit candles, the setting was amazing. We stayed up until almost 2am eating, laughing, and enjoying the holiday in the early hours of the morning.
This morning we had my sisters and mom over. We made cinnamon banana french toast, bacon, and eggnog for breakfast. I watched the Disney Parks Christmas Parade all the way through this time after over 3 years of trying to watch it. Not including justin bieber (he's not cool enough to be considered a proper noun), it was a fantastic show.
Unfortunately, the fiancee had to work again this afternoon, but not without first having watched a couple episodes of "How I Met Your Mother."
Christmas successful, even after all the chaos of last minute gift finding.
