Well, I'm officially a babyfur now
Posted 11 years ago...if the last several submissions didn't make it obvious. XD Honestly, I'm mostly bumping the year-old journal off my page. It's about time!
Seriously though, I've been thinking about this for several months now. My closest friends have been aware of my indecisiveness on this and I thank them for their support. What really won me over was going to FWA, and the Babyfur meet in particular. There were a ton of people there! Easily around 50 or so packed into a small room. And yet, I didn't feel nervous at all. I felt totally welcome and at ease there. I even met a couple people I want to try to stay in touch with. (And my friends know I'm notoriously bad at meeting people.) So I've decided to jump all the way in.
(Possible TMI)
I'm still figuring a few things out... I mean, for me diapers started off as a sexual/fetish sort of thing, so if anything I thought I was going to stay just a diaperfur, possibly a closet one at that. And I still prefer to act my age in most regards. But I can't deny the cuteness of babyfur art either, and I think it helps me be more social if I can get into that sort of "cubby" mindset. There may well come a time when you see Takuma, the coyote, in diapers, and if you do it's probably gonna be more fetish-y. I've been wary about getting art of that nature for a while because "OMG what will people SAAAAAYYY" but I guess I don't care much anymore. xD
Haruki, though, is intended to stay innocent. The most you might see from him is a bit of diaper use. Not because it turns him on but because that's what it's there for! I'm slowly coming around to the idea of having Takuma branch into more "adult" themes while Haruki is a cute, innocent little 'mander. He's a side of me I really want to bring out more if I can, and I think I can do that. ^_^
That's enough from me I suppose. Just going to say this, though... who could possibly say no to a baby charmander? They are the cutest things EVER and I won't have anyone telling me otherwise x3

Go commission Flame!
Posted 13 years agoNo, seriously. Go commission
flamewolf right now! She's having a ridiculously good deal on art right now: fully-colored artwork, with a background, for $5. That's FIVE BUCKS. Honestly, I tried to tell her to charge more, but she wouldn't listen. XD So go help her out!

Note to self: Work is still work
Posted 13 years ago(Yes, this is a vent journal. Turn back now if you must.)
As a note to myself, and a warning to others, let me just say this... no matter how fun you think something is, it stops being fun when it becomes your day-to-day job. Of course, in my case it didn't even seem too fun to begin with, but at least it was somewhat programming related...
I only know a very few people who say that they still love their job. I'm rather intensely jealous of them at the moment. I've only had this new job for a month and a half, and it's slowly driving me crazy. The people are very nice, and the pay is really quite good, so I shouldn't be complaining. But the work is just mind-numbingly boring. I don't feel like that's enough reason to complain, because nobody likes their job... except for those people that do.
This probably sounds like an empty, vain complaint, but it is seriously driving me crazy. I get sick of telling all my coworkers that I'm doing great, and cringe every time my boss introduces me as "someone with a passion for blahblahblah"... I feel like I'm living a lie, or something. On the other hand, because of college and car debts, I can't exactly afford to give up this job at the moment... so I must soldier on.
That's all, I suppose. I don't think people actually read my journals anyway. Why would they? I only have like 5 watchers.

Posted 13 years agoI think it's a bit late for me to be doing this... Pretty much everyone who watches me already knows I'm going, but oh well! Might as well post it anyway.

When are you arriving?
Dunno! Have a few errands to run in the morning. Probably by noon on Friday though.
How are you getting there?
Driving from home. Local conventions are awesome. About half an hour long.
When are you leaving?
Sunday evening. Got work on Monday >.>
Where are you staying (what hotel) ?
I'm staying at home! I decided to save money and just drive back and forth each day. I really hope I don't regret this later...
What will you be doing the most at the convention?
Probably chilling with my friends who are in the dealer's den. Or lounging around somewhere.
What else will you be doing?
I will be lost and confused. This is only my second con, and I probably don't want to annoy my friends by being attached at the hip, hah. But I'm sure if I'm not in the dealer's den or a panel, probably the Game Room.
Who are you rooming with?
Nobody. Staying at home like I said, unless something bizarre and unexpected happens.
Do you have a fursuit? What does it look like?
Nope! Those things are expensive. Hopefully I'll have a tail, though. :3
Can I hug you?
Ask first. I'm generally a very huggable person, but I'm also shy around strangers.
Can I buy you a drink/food?
Maybe. Nothing alcoholic, and I tend to be a picky eater. And I feel bad taking strangers' generosity. xD
Can we hang out?
I'm kinda shy, but I wouldn't go to these if I didn't want to meet people. So sure.
I really want to meet you, whats the best way I can find you / reach you ?
Better to look for the friends I'll be chilling with. I expect to be keeping
company in the Dealer's Den a fair bit, unless I start to annoy them. :P
Anything you are going to buy in the Artist Alley / Dealers Den ?
Maybe a badge, maybe some art for friends who can't make it. I tend to buy more for others than for myself. :P
Anyone you are looking forward to meeting?
Anyone who's cool and chill and stuff. :P
Last thoughts?
This is only my second con, but I'm pretty stoked. Here's hoping it goes better than the first one I went to. Just don't expect me to be around late in the evenings... after all, I have to feel up to driving home each night.

I REALLY hate my apartment complex right now
Posted 13 years agoOkay, sorry, I know vent journals annoy people. I'm just really fucking pissed right now.
I came home from work today to find an unpleasant notice on my door. According to my complex, I have three days to get them the rent that's overdue, or to get out. Only... I dropped the rent check into their rent drop slot on the first, like a good resident. So they fucking lost my rent check, and didn't bother to call or try to reach me even once... just wait until the 7th to deliver their ultimatum.
And because of their hours, I'll have to cut into MY work hours to even talk to them. I left a message on their answering machine but I doubt they'll respond to that. I also doubt that they'll even consider it being a problem on their end... so I'll be forced to write another check, including some rather substantial late fees that I DON'T DESERVE, and call my bank or something to void the first one. Just to make sure they don't decide to cash both or something.
This is just so damn wrong.

Geez, drawing is tough

Disgaea in a Nutshell
Posted 13 years agoAlright, I'm linking to a six-year-old comic that everyone else has probably seen already. Sue me. The old journal needed to go and I can't think of anything else to mention. :P

We now return to your regularly scheduled programming
Posted 13 years agoOr in other words: I finally have internet at my apartment! And worked through a backlog of 100 submissions. It could be worse, I suppose. I know some people who get that many in 5 minutes. xD
Other good news: I have a good job lined up! I can't start until July 11th, alas, but I have some side work to help until then. And then I can probably afford to commission people again. :)
I plan to update this moderately more frequently than twice a year from now on, and the main profile needs updating too, but... that can wait. First I must sate the internet withdrawals. Away! *runs off to Google*

Temporarily AWOL
Posted 13 years agoHey guys, quick little update. I basically have no internet until Tuesday. I'm typing this from a parking lot outside Home Depot. So if it seems like I got very quiet, you know why. Details are forthcoming when I have time to actually type them out, but it's nothing bad. In fact, everything should work out fine.
Wishlist thing
Posted 14 years agoSure, why not. The last journal was getting really old anyway. I'm warning ya though, I'm not a very materialist sort. Most of the things I want aren't easy to get.
Step 1
Make a post in your journal containing your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real-life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where folks could get in touch with you.
Step 2
Surf around other lists to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special
Step 3
The List
I couldn't come up with 10 tangible things I wanted. Most of these are gonna be rants or dreams. I'll start with the simple ones though. Thanks for your cooperation.
1. I'd love a commission from
Falvie or
Nyaasu. They're great artists, and I'd gladly commission them but I've spent too much money recently. Sooner or later I will anyway, but if anyone's feeling generous, hey, I'm all ears.
2. Skyrim. Another game I'll eventually want. I tell myself I'll get it after I beat Morrowind and Oblivion, but you know...
3. Any of the Phoenix Wright games. I've been on a PW kick lately. I have other means to play these games, but having the real game is nice too.
4. More hugs! ^^
5. I wanna hear from people with really crazy beliefs -- or who are at least open-minded... because I'm the same way.
6. More friends are always nice.
7. More creativity... somehow. I never have cool ideas. >.>
8. More motivation... to carry through with the ideas I would have, if I was creative. x3
9. More story parties! Credit goes to
peekahchew and his friends for this one. It's easy. Get a bunch of people on Google docs and start writing stories on the same document! Fun times, and it's one way to actually get me to write something. xD
10. Last and most difficult... I'd love to have a mate. They'd have to deal with my craziness, including not being interested much in sex. I want companionship, and cuddles. That's all, really... Well okay, more of a soulmate, then. I'm out of ideas so why not really go crazy, right?
That's all, really. Sorry most of that isn't actually achievable but hey, that's me.

Personality Test Meme (Yep...)
Posted 14 years agoBorrowed from
nyaasu
I agree with most of it I suppose, except two things: I really don't consider myself creative, and I certainly can't sense what's going on with other people. I'm sympathetic, but not a mind-reader. I'm pretty oblivious unless someone tells me what's going on, really. xD I guess other than that it's accurate.

Sympathetic
You have a knack for knowing what's going on in the hearts and minds of those around you, without their having to tell you explicitly. People tend to turn to you with their problems because they know you care, and that you will likely offer good advice and a helping hand.
You do not feel that people with sad stories are just looking for attention, or have brought their problems upon themselves.
Self-Contained
You like to stick to your own business and leave the power struggles to others; you know who you are and what you believe in, but you don't see any reason to impose your values on everyone else.
You generally don't get involved in organizing or motivating people, and you don't feel the need to always be seen as a big public decision-maker.
Scrupulous
You are an honest, fair person. You don't lie or cheat to get ahead. You treat others with respect and hope for the same in return.
You do not feel that you are above the rules that everyone else follows; you are definitely not willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead.
Upbeat
You enjoy being around others and others enjoy being around you. You have a "live and let live" attitude; because you know that no one's perfect, you are forgiving and happy to give the benefit of the doubt.
You don't feel the need to be controversial or express contrary opinions all the time. You see no reason to go around rubbing people the wrong way.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Intellectual
You are thoughtful, rational, and comfortable in the world of ideas. People find you interesting to talk to. You're the living embodiment of the saying "You learn something new every day." In general, those with a high score on the "intellectual" trait are employed in such fields as teaching and research, and are enthusiastic about reading, foreign films, and classical music.
You do not avoid abstract conversation, experimenting with new ideas, or studying new things. It bores you to stick to the straight and narrow of what you already know.
Acquiescent
You are comfortable in your own skin and don't need to throw your weight around. You'll often choose to be the one who is told what to do rather than the one who's doing the telling, and you sometimes avoid confrontations even if it means that you won't get your way.
You aren't interested in making others bend to your will or in always dishing out criticism. You're not a pushy person, and you like it that way.
Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.

Commission UrbanCoyote and Czickpuppy so they can move!
Posted 14 years agoYep, another one of these journals, but it's not a "please donate" thing. They just need some more money so Czickpuppy can move in with UrbanCoyote. They made it clear they want commissions, not donations, and their art's really good. Give it some thought. :)

Now open for story commissions!
Posted 14 years agoAlright, so after some deliberation (and more than a little procrastination…) I've decided to formally open to accept story commissions! I have some rules about it though, so please read carefully. You all like stories, so I don't want to hear anybody going "tl; dr". :P
First, there are some things I will NOT write about:
1. Sex. Yep, you heard me. As an asexual I reserve the right not to write about sex. My stories are all gonna be PG-13. Now, I might be willing to hint at sex, and then skip the scene like so many PG-13 movies. But keep in mind, these will be short stories. If sex is a key part of your story, you might want to reconsider.
2. Unusual fetishes. Yes, this ties in above, but deserves its own bullet point. Some fetishes are fairly tame (IMO), and can be expressed in non-sexual ways (like macro or micro). Others… just gross me out. Like vore, bondage, etc. If you want something along those lines, just note me first, but be prepared for a “no”.
3. Famous characters. In other words, don't come to me asking for a fanfic. I have nothing personal against them, but they aren't really my thing, especially since a ton of them break one of my rules above… Even when they don't, I'm very bad at emulating other characters, I enter into a perfectionist mindset trying to make it sound just like them. I'm willing to use popular settings with original characters though (like Pokemon).
Now for things that I really like to write about, or think I'm good at. Play to these and you could win brownie points:
1. I love setting my stories in dreams! It gives me amazing artistic license, and I've always had a fascination with dreams in general. Not that you should change your ideas for that sole reason, of course.
2. I'm great with dialogue, much better than with physical descriptions. I love progressing the plot through dialogue. I want to get better at descriptions too, though. If you want a good description of your character, then please, please give me a good ref to go by. Same thing with a detailed setting, tell me a bit about it beforehand.
3. I like adventure stories, or (more common in dream settings) "WTF is going on!?" stories. I will do basically anything but porn, though.
Finally, the steps I want you to go through if you want a story from me:
1. Note me with the general idea of the story. Refs are good, and anything I'm borderline on above, just ask! I just wanted to filter out common requests from the get-go. I won't bite. Give me a word count to aim for, please! I'll be charging by story length.
2. I'll note you back with the price I want to charge, and ask you to send me payment through Paypal before I start. Note me again once you've paid.
3. I'll write up the story, upload it in my scraps and link you to it. If there are any changes you want me to make, let me know and we'll iron out the details.
4. When you decide it looks good, I'll reupload it.
A few final thoughts. I'm still trying to figure out how pricing is gonna work. My preliminary price, subject to change, starts at $3 for 300 words, and two characters. Then add a dollar for each extra hundred words, and a dollar for each extra character. (Though I refuse to write a 300 word story with 20 characters in it. Also, that's important characters. Random nobodies are free. If in doubt, ask.)
I also need more watchers for this to ever get off the ground. So, you can get a dollar off a story by writing a journal linking to me, and posting the journal here. You may also be able to get a dollar off a story if you have a good thumbnail for it (I know I'm more likely to click a story that has a thumbnail).
Lastly, to give you an idea how long your story will be, this journal is roughly 700 words long. That's a $7 story. (Subject to change)
Questions, comments? Post them below! Story ideas? Note me, please.

I might be doing it wrong
Posted 14 years agoI'm just now turning 21, and instead of getting drunk I'm getting an internship. Awesome and all, but college days just aren't like they used to be, eh? Not that drinking sounds fun anyway... much more amused by watching the drunk people from a safe distance x3
Uhm, for people asking, nope, no real point to this journal. Just bored. xD There might be another journal later though... if people were actually interested in commissioning a story from me? A friend keeps insisting I have the talent for it, but I don't know... I don't see anyone asking for stories anyway. Besides, people want the flashy artworks that I just can't draw. :P
So, uh, rambling over. How've you guys been?

Help out Paws!

Pawsthewolf is having a really tough time of things lately. She's been longing to see her birth family for ages, finally has the chance, but her job cut her hours and she can't afford to make the trip! Do anything you can to help her, please. If not money, emotional support is just as appreciated, believe me.http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2227748/
Help out Urban-Coyote!
Posted 15 years agoHe needs to raise some money so he can afford surgery. He was born intersexed, apparently, which honestly, I don't know much about... but it sounds painful. x.x
So help him if you can. All he's asking for is $1 from each person.

A phantom submission?
Posted 15 years agoI checked my messages this morning and after clearing out submissions, it still says there's 1 new submission. But if I check, it says there are no submissions to list... anyone else having this problem? o.o I tried to get rid of it several times...
So, the new year.
Posted 15 years agoFirst off, Happy New Year to everyone. ^^ (Anyone who skips down and says "tl;dr" at this point has my permission. x3)
Second off... Been thinking about a lot lately. And even though I may not have as much holiday cheer as most, I still respect the idea of the new year being a fresh start. I need to restart a lot of the good habit's I've been trying to establish, since I kinda slacked over Winter Break. Obviously, Winter Break was meant for slacking, but uh, most of my pants don't fit anymore. >.> So I think it's time to make a fresh start on those things.
Third, and the actual reason I'm writing this, my dad said an offhanded comment this morning: "Just think, this year you'll be starting your last year of college!" I know he meant well, but I can only respond to that with, "Don't remind me." I understand most people are eager to get out in the real world and start earning money, but I guess I'm not a materialist person. College was the fresh start I needed in my life, and all of my close friends are there. I've changed SO MUCH since I started college that I look back and scarcely recognize myself. I have memories of high school of course, but it's like I don't... "own" them. They aren't "me" any more.
I'm getting sidetracked... My point is, graduation will mean saying farewell to my wonderful college friends. (I'm sure they know who they are. x3) And I'm sure we'll never forget each other, but... life gets BUSY after graduation. I don't think I'm quite ready for a full-time, 40 hours a week job. And despite our best efforts, we won't see much of each other after graduation. We'll all be too busy. I kinda never want college to end... >.>
I'll end this with... Looking forward to the new year is always all about changes. And, I've always been reasonably open to change, as long as I initiate it, anyways. (Surprises are another matter, as some of my friends will attest. xD) I have to be, because changing myself is how I got this far in the first place. (Long story short, I have Asperger's... but nobody would know it looking at me today.) But now I've found something that I really, really don't want to change, though of course it's bound to. I guess that makes new years kinda bittersweet, for me. I've got to try to look forward to the good, and work through the bad.
tl; dr: My friends will recognize this as the same old complaints over again, there's really nothing to worry about. I'm sure as graduation looms closer I'll be able to adjust. I just felt like dumping my brain out for the public view. Nothing to see here, move along. :P

Merry Christmas! ... and a free art contest
Posted 15 years agoSo, first off, merry christmas to you all, happy holidays, Hanukkah, etc. Everyone try to chill and enjoy it, cause that's what vacation's for. x3
There's also this little free art contest I found: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1967309/
However, in the spirit of Christmas, you don't enter yourself, but you enter a friend! And you have to say why they deserve it. So...
! You're just, well, awesome. You're one of the nicest guys I know, you'll listen to anyone, you're very laidback and open-minded, but you'll also stand up for what you think is right. And of course you're also very fun to be around. x3 You've helped me, and many others, through a lot of tough times, too. And I think, despite all that, you don't get nearly enough recognition. So... here's hoping you win something. ^^

Posted 15 years agoEh, why not. Post below and... you probably know the deal. Stolen from
strype_rendzvous, who I can bet stole it from someone else. :P
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what pokemon you remind me of.
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you, and your answer has to be as vague as possible to keep the suspense.
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname
8. Tell you what's on my shirt right now.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

Post-FF update
Posted 15 years agoOkay, I know, I'm late... It took me a couple days to recover, and then, I forgot. xD
Now, where to begin... Why don't we start with my fail, and get that out of the way. We got all the way down there and... I didn't have my permit for identification. So we spent basically all of Friday on the road back and forth. >.< I swear things got better after that though! I had a lot of fun on Saturday, even if I didn't go to many panels. I had more fun wandering around the hotel and playing plenty of games in the board game area, anyways.
I can't really remember the panels that well, actually. I went to a furry fiction panel, which was interesting but not really my thing. Even if I do take up writing, it won't be to make money or get published. I was hoping for something more useful on improving writing or creativity itself... also, it seems most of them were more interested in writing adult fiction. >.>; On Sunday, I also saw the War Dogs documentary and, being a brave soul, went to the Furry Spirituality panel. It was actually pretty interesting, but I definitely felt out of place there. :P The real highlight was the Masquerade, of course. That was awesome! I can honestly say there wasn't a bad act in the group.
Ah, but nevermind all that. If you were there, you know about it already. The important thing is the people I met! And there were so many people! We stayed at
voodoowolf and
dearc's place, and I also met
gerf,
pawsthewolf,
badluckkitty, and so many other people I can't find the FA pages for offhand. (I'm kinda bad with names too >.>) I also got to meet
iamthedonut (Shino) again. It was awesome to see him do DDR in suit, that made my friend's weekend. x3 I'm sorry I can't remember you all, shino was the only one I knew in advance. My whole weekend was "hey look, another friend of Triard's I don't know. Uh, hi!" I had fun though. That's a new record for strangers I've met in one weekend. Or ever. x3
Besides that, I got a little swag and still managed to not spend too much. There were kinda tense moments but I had a great time overall. I'm already looking forward to next year. ...but I think it'll be less hectic if we take the hotel room next time. xD

FurFright Meme
Posted 15 years agoWell, everyone else is doing one of these, so...
Where are you staying?
voodoowolf and
dearc's house. Along with, like, everyone else. xD
Who will you be with?
voodoowolf,
dearc,
triard, and no doubt a ton of other people I've never met before!
Do you do trades?
I'm the worst artist ever... you don't wanna trade, trust me. :P
What suits will you have?
I don't have one. Honestly, even if I could afford one I'd pass. Not really my thing.
What is your gender?
Male
How old are you?
20
Can I touch you?
Um, I guess you can hug me, or shake my hand and stuff. Ask me first though, I can be a little jumpy if you just decide to sneak up behind me... o.o
Can I talk to you?
Sure. I'm pretty shy, but I promise I'll make some effort to be social. It's why I'm going, after all. xD
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
...do Moxie and Mountain Dew count? :P I don't drink teh alcohol.
Can I give you lots of money?
Sure, but you aren't getting much in return. Nyah. :P
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
See above, and ask me before you hug. Snuggles are a no, though.
How tall are you?
6'
You look pissed off out of suit can I come up to you?
I'm one of the most mellow people I know, so if I'm pissed off, something's gone horribly wrong. Run. RUN! o.o (Honestly, if I do get pissed a friendly stranger trying to cheer me up is never a bad thing)
Are you nice?
That depends. Are you? As long as you're not a jerk, I don't see a problem. A little friendly sarcasm is a whole 'nother thing, of course. xD
Are you cliquey?
Obviously I only hang out with the geekiest of the geeks. Nah, as long as we can find SOMETHING in common, we'll be good. And given how weird the rest of my friends are, this shouldn't be a problem. :P
Can I stalk you?
See that part about being shy? Yeah. Stuff.
How long are you going?
All three days.
Do you have an artist table?
Nope.
Do you like parties?
Hmm... do lan parties count? :P Usually I like hanging out with small groups, being shy and all. Usually there's also video games involved. But I'm reasonably flexible. Just don't get drunk or do something stupid, okay?
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
I'm probably the only Singularity that's gonna be there, so... yeah. Jordan works too. When in doubt, wave or something, I won't be actively hiding.
...and that's it! Most people who care already know this stuff about me, but, hey. :P
