Here we go agaaaain
General | Posted 6 years agoSO, very hectic month. I see quite a few new followers, im sure you guys know what the deal was (youre probably here because of the noise from that). BUT thats the past now, hopefully. Unfortunately this isnt the most exciting/interesting account to follow, but ill try my best to do good by y'all. Now that im back in north america ill start reuploading almost everything that was lost in that drama filled mess. I wont be reuploading artwork done by Kariosus, as is their right as the artist to request. And hopefully therell be lots of new stuff as I get back to work to make that green.
Also got some writings that im working on, ill try to get past my anxiety and upload those too when theyre done. I hope everyones doing well!

The Happenings
General | Posted 8 years agoI am no longer disappear, swer.
Well, kinda. During my disappearing act, I took care of some personal stuff (which is still ongoing, but making good progress) and I started medic school. This means that my free time is essentially zero. But at least Ill still be able to check in on things here occasionally, and get the odd commission.
(Boring details below for those interested)
So medic school has been quite the challenge. Ive found that I cant handle medical vocabulary for the life of me, and likewise the endocrine system in a puzzle wrapped in a maze wrapped in an enigma. As for how much more of this I have ahead of me... its divided into three parts; Didactic, Clinicals and Field Internships. Usually totaling 12 to 18 months. Currently, im in didactic, which is considered the most difficult part, and on top of that, the most difficult part of the difficult part; anatomy and physiology. THANKFULLY, this is the final week before moving on to practical skills.
As it is, my schedule has been three days of school a week (nine hours each) three to four days of work (usually two 24 hour shifts and two 12's) and studying in any of the time left over. Im really looking forward to having more free time. Once A&P s done, studying will decline to a minimum (cant really practice IVs outside of the classroom...) and work will also be helping me out, giving me at least one day off a week starting now.
Thats about it, my life has become school for now. Hope all y'all are doin well.
See ya around

Work Rant
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, we had the rare occurrence of having two crews at one station the other day, and we got to talking. Inevitably, the train of topics turned into complaining about the states of things.
And BOY do I have some stuff to complain about.
Ive kind of become blind to some of this stuff, because when you deal with it every day it becomes background noise... But hearing other people bring it up drives the point home and makes you think "Holy shit, why am I okay with this, this is FUCKING STUPID."
Equipment is the name of the game. Normally, we have a few different "rigs" (ambulances) available to us. Two are brand new, cutting edge rigs that are better than the others in ever single way and are like the epitome of efficiency and luxury (EXTREME SARCASM ALERT more on that later). We have maybe four or five rigs that are a few years old. Sure, their age shows, but its not terrible.
And then we have the DINOSAURS. Yes, relics from a bygone era, somehow still in service when they should be enjoying their retirement, rusting away in some scrap yard somewhere.
Now, I have no problem with old things, Im a practical guy, if its not broken, dont fix it.
BUT HOLY SHIT ARE THEY BROKEN.
BOTH are clad in faded paint and decals that are chipping and outdated (same company name, old, no longer relevant color scheme). BOTH have seats that can recline... about two inches. BOTH have holes in the seats and cracked interiors.
"But Siph", you might say, "Shut the fuck up and deal with it, thats just cosmetics."
I AINT DONE
These bad boys alternate being the the repair shop, when their engines give out for one reason or another. THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT WORK (our summertime temperature get up to 46 degrees at times, 114 degrees in freedom units) WE GET PASSED BY BIG RIGS ON THE HIGHWAY, admittedly only when merging, they take a long time to get up to highway speeds.
On one of them, the fuckin DOOR CONTROL PANEL (the panel in the door where the window and door lock buttons sit) IS HANGING OUT OF THE DOOR BY ITS WIRES and the FUCKING HORN DOESNT WORK HOLY SHIT
These rigs, we have had them for years, these problems are not new ones. Yet, we still use them. Not only that, we use them for DAY CAR. Day car, for the unfamiliar, is a shift where the ambulance is not assigned to a station, you are assigned to a street corner, which is where you will sit for 12 hours, barring getting calls or what not.
The ambulance, becomes your station. A STATION WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING. IN THE SUMMER. FOR 12 HOURS.
And this is just the TIP of my equipment woes. We have a literal laundry list of things like the above problem, which have been, and will continue to be, brought up to upper management. And which have been and will continue to be ignored.
RANTS, RANTS GALORE. I could go one for at LEAST eight more pages on the shit we have to deal with... And i probably will at some point
BUT ANYWAY
fuck it

Thoughts, and maybe some worldly wisdom?
General | Posted 9 years agoAlright kiddos, listen up. Probably none of this is going to reach anyone to whom it might be useful, but the thought that it might is just as therapeutic to me as it might be to my imaginary audience.
EMS is glorified, dashing paramedics and firefighters rushing in to save a poor old lady having a heart attack; saving kids from burning building, whatever the fuck. Its all over TV, news, what have you. Great. Ask kids what they want to be when they grow up, "A HERO". Right. Thats shits pretty heroic. Who doesnt want to zoom down a road, disregrading all traffic laws, having the assholes that you usually have to contend with yield to your majestic, amber flashing ass as you rush to save lives. Right?
You might be saying. "Hey, I want to do that! They make a difference! They must make a lot of money!" Some one reading this might already be steps ahead of that. Might have their certificate in hand, or be currently going through school.
Well, hold on for one fucking minute, and let me drop some wisdom on you, in the form of a question. Do you have friends? Family? A significant other? Do you enjoy spending time with them? Of course you fucking do, whats life without those around you.
How about this, do you like sleeping in on weekends? Pursuing hobbies?
Welp, turn around right the fuck now and run as fast as you can, because these things are all FUCKED in this job. You will not have free time, you will lose all of your friends and family, you will make shit money, and you will have no time to even think about anything else except how you dont need sex when your being fucked so much by your job, but theres always extreme escapism i suppose.
Your sleep schedule will be fucked, your work schedule (no matter how much they sugarcoat it to you during your interviews) will also be a pile of steaming excrement, and you will lose all good will, cheer, and pride in your job over the coming years. Not to mention faith in humanity and all will to live. Full. Fucking. Stop.
And may god have mercy on your soul if your company is short staffed.
TL;DR
Going into EMS? Double check that your masochistic and hate people before hand.

Bike bike bike, bike! Bike; bike, bike, bike.

Cheers!

Notice of Absence
General | Posted 11 years agoEdit (1-1-16) I guess I wasnt all too good about updating here. I am back! I have been for a little while now. Probably get more writing done in the new year, and be a bit more active. But yeah, anyway, Im back.
Hey everyone,
I doubt too many people will read this, but here it is. I've made a decision today to grab a backpack and go. I'll be leaving January 1st. I don't know where I'm going, how long I'll be gone, or what lies ahead. Really.
So this is a heads up. I will be documenting everything, as often as possible, and online. If you want to keep in contact, you know how. Some of you can text or call me, you know the number or will know shortly. Everyone else, my email is open and I'll be checking it sporadically.
As for the documenting, I'll be keeping a journal of sorts on tumblr. If you want to follow along or just see where I happened to end up on a certain day, thats the way to do it. -edited-
If you want to help me out with a little something, comment or note me with three of your favorite songs to keep me company during my travels.
Cheers,
Siphran
Also... if you've got the cash to spare, I've started a gofundme to scrape together emergency money for a flight home if an emergency happens. Just an afterthought, by all means don't feel obligated to donate if you'd rather not.
