Yo hey all, sorry for disappearing and the lack of posts on MOST of my accounts. So a lot has happened this month, all of which is positive thankfully. My sister had a third kid, so now I have a second niece and that's great! So some nights are spent going over to my sister's place to see/hang out with the new kid.



Then there was the wedding, I was best man at my friend's wedding. And I'll be honest, it was a surreal experience behing behind that front table. It was a small wedding of course, which was good. I was so nervous getting in front of everyone, but it turned out great!



And of course, there was also prep work for the move. I'm moving into a brand apartment, like recently built and 900 square feet. And for 1090 a month (less than that, cuz I get a monthly government supplement for living here) and you've got yourself a deal I just could not resist.



So with all the anxiety about prepping for the move, all the calls I've had to make, and things I've had to schedule (though my parents did help by getting me a ton of stuff) and it's just been like a HUGE month for me. To the point where I'm looking forward to November when I can just chill in a place of my own finally and just work on my writing in a shiny new apartment while doing my regular job as well and watching stuff on my new 65 inch TV while sititng on my new sectional.



So yeah, been a long month and looking forward to it ending and opening up a brand new chapter in my life. Sorry for stories being slow, but I appreciate you being patient! Now, enjoy the next few days of me posting stories and pics like usual :3

I will ALWAYS find an excuse to crap on this hell-site, but adding the ability to have display names is a GODSEND. Finally, I can be Monkey-Scientist like I am everywhere else~ I have no idea why it took them THIS LONG to add this feature. Am I glad it's free? Yes. Still annoying that FA+ members get the ability to change their name more often, but eh it is what it is. I don't need 50 name changes anyways lol

So yeah, yesterday Nintendo FINALLY revealed the Switch successor and some games! I usually don't do thoughts on the newest console, but wanted to weigh in on this. First thing's first, will I get one? Ehhhhh, pretty on the fence and swaying more towards "No". The thing that gets in the way first and foremost is the games. They aren't really offering much that I'd want?



This may come as a shock to people, but I'm not really a fan of the Donkey Kong games. Sure I love their characters, like Candy Kong, K. Rool, Skurvy (though he's only in the cartoon), Diddy Kong, that new monkey babe, etc. But the games themselves aren't super interesting to me. I do like that the new DK game for Switch 2 is basically the "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction" of Nintendo games, but at the same time it's not the kind of game I'd play. There's a new Kirby and Mario Kart for it as well, but again I don't really play racing games.



Really the game I want to try on it is Xenoblade X, but that's already available on Switch 1 and they weirdly haven't announced a remaster for Switch 2 yet, despite both of the Zelda games made by the same dev getting those. So I'm not really going to get hyped about the Switch 2 until I hear more about what they're going to do with Xeno X in regards to that game, or if they announce more RPGs like that.



Which is ironic, because the only reason I wanted to buy a Wii U was for Xenoblade X, which is why I never did since I didn't want to buy a console for ONE game. And now the only reason I want to buy a Switch 2 is again because of Xenoblade X, hoping that it'll have an enhanced version.



There are some interesting games though I have my eyes on, cuz even though I'm not a Souls fan the Bloodborne-like game coming to it looks kinda cool! One thing that has me interested is the Gamecube games you'll be able to play on it, mostly because of the higher definition and multiplayer. Normally, I wouldn't care about this, but one of my FAVE Gamecube games was Phantasy Star Online. So having the original PSO on Gamecube on Switch 2 with the online servers restored would be a MASSIVE thing. Come on, Sega, play nice and have it happen!



They're also remastering Bravely Default again, but I hadn't even beat the original version on 3DS so it's like... Yeah not really big on that one. The Daemon X Machina sequel looks cool, and I honestly want to finally buy and play the original to see what it's like before diving into the new one.


There are some new features to the console though that has me scratching my head. Like they're finally adding voice chat, something that should've been around like 3 or 4 console generations ago and they're treating it like it's some "revolutionary" new feature. It is nice it's here finally though, gotta admit. They also have video chat in there like Zoom, again something that should've been added like a decade or two ago.


Another thing that I find questionable is the pricing. A console that's nearly 700 in Canadian, with games that are 90-100 dollars? Plus you have to PAY for the tutorial? Plus you have to pay to UPGRADE any pre-existing game to their Switch 2 versions if it has one? On top of having to buy the expansion pack with all the Gamecube games included? Like damn, this might be one of the biggest pricing gouges in game history lol



So in conclusion, it seems like an interesting console I just think the pricing is holding it back. And while some of the games on offer are interesting, it's not really enticing enough at the moment to make me want to buy it. Sure, once Monster Hunter Wilds and similar games get annoucned and released for it, then I might consider the plunge. It's definitely a yes if Xenoblade X gets remastered and PSO Classic gets added to the Gamecube game lineup. Until then, I got my Meta Quest 3S and Steam Deck to keep me busy when I want to game~

So earlier today, you may have or may not have seen a journal about me talking about dealing with a stalker who has stolen art I've commed, broken several laws by harassing and stalking me, along with spreading slander about me. I'm pretty sure this is a kid, so I'm not going to mention their name. But basically, because this kid has unmitigated internet access and a random hate on for Joao, he's going after everyone who's drawn fan art of their characters or commissioned it. I'm in the latter as I got an awesome piece from llss featuring my buddy Zap and I as Joao's characters, which is now being stolen by this kid and used as hate art. He is on his FOURTH account now and yeah I ask that if you see the stolen piece, please report it. You don't have to message me about it, just please report and move on. Cuz what this kids wants is attention and giving him it is giving him validation.

Also, if this person turns out not to be a kid, then GOOD LORD our society is cooked. Because adults should not act this way.

Yeah, for those who don't know the INTRICATE LORE of what happened: Some wannabe hacker loser tried to take over the site, managed to hack it briefly, got billed THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS IN SERVER MAINTENANCE FEES (lol), and is now being hunted by both Kiwi Farms and a trained battalion of furry hackers. So yeah, I'm back, baby! We all back. And let's hope it stays that way for the foreseeable future lol

I'll admit in the past, I've been known to well crap on this site's admin: Dragoneer. In fact, I was doing that just a few days ago and now deeply regret it as he has now passed. It honestly sucks, while I didn't have the most respect for the guy (especially after some of the things he had done), he did keep this site in operation and owned it for the longest. And through this site, I've met so many great people and artists. And if FA had just died years ago without him or anyone else buying it, then none of those relationships would've ever formed. In a way, I owe my transition to being a furry to Dragoneer and his site. Regardless of what he's done or said, my heart goes out to his family and loved ones in this trying time.

Hey all, I really need to put out more journals lol. But yeah, Jam here! As you can see, I'm getting back into the swing of writing more regularly. Summer is upon and as is common at my job, this means less hours for me. This also means more time to focus on comms, so I'll be doing comms all summer! I'm only going to take 2-3 at a time though.

On top of this, I'm going to be opening a Patreon come August or September. I already have the page mostly setup, I just need a banner for it and to populate it with content before publishing it. The reason I'm resorting to Patreon is that next year, I'll most likely be moving out into some really cheap (but really good) apartments for people with disabilities. The problem is that I'd be losing 100-200 a month, even more in the summer. While I can support this by using my savings or working extra hours in the spring and fall/winter when available, having Patreon setup as a third form of income (next to comms and my regular part time job) would help.

And for those worrying about me facing burnout, I'll take a break for a week every month so I'm not writing non-stop. As for what content will be on it, there'll be body-swap stories, TF stories, and reviews of body-swaps or TFs in media. Due to Patreon's strict rules on adult work, these'll be entirely SFW (or as SFW as kink stories can be) as to not upset the powers that be.

If I can utilize all 3 forms of income properly, then living on my own should be no problem and it's a goal I wish to work towards. Hey all, Monkey-Scientist here. Thought I'd give some updates here! Taking a break from buying comms, first of all. I'm not in financial trouble or anything, I'm fine. However, I find I just spend too much on comms at times. And honestly I realize that I kind of had an addiction to it for a while. I love getting comms and supporting the artists who need the money. At the same time though, I need to go back to saving up a lot for when I eventually do finally move out and live on my own, due to this economic recession we find ourselves in right now. On top of this, I have A LOT of unposted comms that only have only been shared on Twitter. I'm talking many gigabytes worth of art that I love and feel needs to be seen. And I have so much that's it taking years to post this stuff.

Also, come July 1st I will be reopening for writing comms myself. Just be warned the prices will be higher, but they're still in CAD. I do get they'll be a bit much for many people, but at the same time you gotta factor in inflation (not the sexy kind lol) and all that. On top of this, want to apologies for the lack of stories in general. It's been a busy year, I've been in a documentary, gone to parties, saw some movies in theaters, did a comic con, etc. Plus I just get slack sometimes, but trust me I got some amazing stuff on the horizon!

My bad for the overreaction/random venting session I had. I overreacted to FA's new rule thinking it would impact the shortstack art I've gotten when it most likely won't. I guess I just bought into the overreactions of others and coupled that with the fact that FA is really poorly managed and came to the conclusion that the sky was falling. So I do apologize again for the random venting session, more stuff on the way!

Really cool getting tons of people to ask questions, I answered them in the replies but will also answer them in the story itself. Just for the record the content of the story itself will be my human self-insert James answering questions as he swaps bodies with a busty female genie. Time for an Ask Me Anything! Yeah, I realized I don't really engage with my audience the way I used to and I want to fix that. Cuz I do enjoy talking with people but most engagement with my watchers is just random replies I make to their comments. Heyo, it's meerkat time! Yeah I have a LOT of art of Meerina I have yet to post (and stories too). And I think it's a shame she doesn't get featured as much as Jam so decided to fix that! So throughout month I'll be posting pics and stories featuring Meerina (like that  tincrash pic I posted today) on both DA and FA!

Really glad to see the increased engagement since I started posting on FA. Got a bunch of new watchers and comments and I appreciate that. I always felt bad about not posting much to FA and honestly even though FA's new file size restrictions for free accounts suck and are stupid as hell, I still do like posting stuff here using Postybirb. I like being able to share stuff with both my audiences and I'm glad to see so many people on FA discovering the art I commission or the stories I write. Also, be sure to follow and commission all the artists who's artwork I post. I don't make any of this art myself, I just give them the idea and pay for it, so if you want awesome art like that be sure to hit up them up. :)

Lastly, this year marks my 10th anniversary making these stories. So, any favorites, comments, or watches are appreciated. Yes, next month it'll been 10 years since I took the plunge and started writing TF/swaps. It all happened on Writing.com a decade ago, I put some story (dunno which lol) and have grown as a person and as a writer since then. It's been a long time and I feel like I've improved as a writer and those skills have bled into me writing other good non-TF related stuff. I've gotten two published writing credits since I began doing these weirdass stories, along with an appearance in upcoming documentary series, all of which are unrelated to TFs or furry stuff. It's been a good time since I began this and I think for next year I wanna expand it and have Jam swap bodies with more characters from my followers and friends.

So what I'll do is post this journal on DA as well and link to it on Twitter. What I want to see is your guys' characters and throughout 2023, will be picking random charrs to body-swap Jam with in both stories and artwork I commission. I'm mainly looking for those who haven't swapped with Jam before, but if you have feel free to suggest other chars you may have. Hey guys, it's been forever since I posted to FurAffinity, I know! The good news is that I'm back and I'm going to being posting regularly. How regularly? Well, I have a backlog of over 300 stories that were only ever posted to DA, so I've got enough to post daily for at least a full year or two. XD Not only will there be a lot of old stories posted here, there's also gonna be a ton of new ones. On top of this, there will be chances to get stories from me for cheap. :3

You see, I recently started up a Ko-Fi account. We're doing a draw right now that'll finish at the end of October. It's three dollars to enter the draw and the prize is getting a commission from me! It's time to make up an obligatory fake holiday! XD I've noticed that everything nowadays seems to have some kind of fake holiday behind it. We got Bowser Day, Talk Like A Pirate Day, Shark Week, May The 4th, Etc. What about a "Body-Swap Day"? I've decided that it should be July 2nd! Why July 2nd? Well, that's the thing about body-swaps, there's no set day of importance when it came to their creation. The concept was already being thrown around over a hundred years ago, it just wasn't fully established into a thing later on.

When I joined the furry/TF fandom back in 2013, body-swapping wasn't really as popular as it was now. Sure, you had some artists/writers doing it as gimmicks, but only a few people were fully dedicated to it. Cut to years down the line and now body-swaps are a more widely accepted kind of TF and the amount of art and stories dedicated to it has quintupled! So, I thought it was time to finally give its own holiday. I chose July 2nd because it's sandwiched between Canada Day and the Fourth of July. I figure that would be a good spot to put it, since it's like a body-swap in that we're "exchanging" cultures during that week. People from America will look up stuff about Canada on their holiday, and vice-versa. Sure, it's a stretch, but I can't really think of a better day to put it on!

So yeah, July 2nd will be the day that body-swaps are celebrated. If you have any cool body-swap art, stories, picture edits, or what have you, that would be a good day to share them. There's tons of characters in all forms of media, so feel free to get creative with what characters you swap! I want to try to get this to become an actual fake holiday, so body-swap fans can have a day to themselves. I mean, there's a TF day, but no body-swap day! So, from henchforth, July 2nd shall be body-swap day. If you like this idea, I suggest sharing this journal around. Spread the word and we'll try to make body-swap day an actual thing! Feel free to spread it around on Discord, Facebook, Twitter, FurAffinity, DeviantArt, etc.

What will I do for body-swap day? Well, I'm going to post a body-swap story between my fursona Jam and Lancer from DeltaRune! And maybe I'll post another swap story if I get the time. XD Keep in mind that this holiday isn't a contest, or anything. I just think it would be cool if we had a unified day to celebrate body-swaps. After all, the internet has evolved body-swaps beyond the gimmick they were in the 70s-90s. Why don't we take the next step and make a day dedicated to it? So, July 2nd will be this hallowed holiday. May we all partake in it and say in collective confusion: "WAIT, IS THAT ME OVER THERE?!"
