What have you been up to?
I've been real busy with my day job again lately (I know it feels like forever TvT )
Had to move during the summer which was very stressful and now my rent is 200% more D:
On the bright side, I haven't had a concussion since last January *knock on wood* and finally feels like I'm back to my old self a bit more.
I'm on Bluesky now! @sixel - twitter locked me out on my birthday and I haven't been as much since but bluesky is nice, I hope to see more birds there! I'll still announce icon openings on my business twitter and here.
Will you be opening for icons again?
Have a contract break coming up in December but not sure if I'll be extended, nothing lined up for after this project but it's hard to say if I'll actually be off - industry is a little touch and go but working is good - I'll take whatever I can get!
That said, I would like to open for icons when I'm between contracts (just hard to say when exactly that is yet)
What will your prices be when you do open?
Another tough one to answer! Last time I opened basic static pose were 45$ CAD each, I'd like to raise that to 60$ CAD with a discount for letting me wing it. Back and forth for reviews last time and tracking things in google sheets was more draining than I expected.
Animated character icons I think are going to start at 120$ CAD going forward, custom animation is something I find very difficult to price and normally takes me a lot longer. I'm more comfortable pitching the action than being being given a lot of direction so that could also effect the price. I really liked doing auction YCH but I know those aren't always appreciated so:

When are you opening for commissions again?
June or July! I will post warning on my commission only twitter and on here to give a heads up.
Can you do custom animated commissions?
Sort of! I'm not an animator by trade so custom orders can be tricky/time consuming to fulfill and trickier to price, I can possibly take one or two but expect them to be priced higher than regular icons.
I really enjoyed the last YCH animated auction I worked on and would like to offer similar auctions in future alongside my regular icons. Still one of a kind, custom animated but based on my rough idea and timing.
Is your Patreon still going?
Not at the moment, it was sort of like a waitlist in the past but I don't have the capacity to start it up again at the moment. Something I'd like to look into when I'm on my next contract break but not feasible when I'm already working full time.
Anything exciting coming up?
A summer themed set that I never debuted and some other set ideas I'd like to try for later in the summer :>
Thank you for your patience and patronage, I've been breadwinner since September and while I'm not hurting it's lovely to be out of my years long burnout and making icons again, they bring me a lot of joy. Funds go towards my French fry budget and music lessons >:3

BC Flooding Donation Drive - Saturday Stream Nov27th

I'll be participating in a charity stream event Saturday in aid of the BC Flood relief - you may have seen it in the news - it was pretty devastating (and not over yet - we are forecasted to receive more storms and rain this week).
Me and my family are all safe though one of the most flooded areas is a 15 minute walk from where I grew up, so helping out means a lot to me.
How can I help?
Can help us by commissioning an artist participating in the donation drive, donating directly to one of the charities or coming by the stream on Saturday (moral support is also lovely ;v; )
Commissions eh?
I'm taking 5 slots (3 remaining) for sketchy 2 frame animations
15$ USD each and will be similar to this.
Essentially whatever I can get done in a 30 minute block (possibility for extra frames or wiggly lines depending on complexity)! If you've ever seen me roughing animation for icons or been to a drunk stream I did years ago you know how silly and lively these get XD

Heads up that I'm planning to open again tomorrow (Monday) Dec 2nd around 3pm PST.
Why Monday?
I'd originally intended to open on Nov 29th totally forgetting that that would be black Friday, things got hectic here and I dropped the ball on that sorry for the inconvenience! (Something very good came up, had to scramble a bit to organize)
Will you be opening another time?
This may be my last opening for the next while, my schedule will be changing again in the new year. I'll be aiming to complete all icons before Christmas and if I finish early probably won't take more over the holiday.
What if I miss it?
While I can't guarantee when I open next I can say that my next round of commissions will be for patreon supporters (none monthly VIP list)

Bit different this time around in that I will be transferring all funds raised to the SPCA in person- will be getting either a receipt or picture proof. You can choose to donate directly to the SPCA and email me the receipt if you prefer.
Why are you hosting this event?
This week we found out a neighbor had one of our childhood cats put down. Allegedly she found him dying in her yard and called the SPCA to come deal with him. This was 10 years ago, she never told us (she was not fond of my mother or Buddy - our cat). Though we are hurt and upset, the silver lining is that the SPCA stepped in and helped Buddy (even if it was just to put end his pain). In his memory, all proceeds will be going to the Abbotsford SPCA.

Recovered from what I think was a burn out, just finished end of contract crunch as well and started a new job, whoo! Pumped to work on new things but figured this would be a good opportunity to post about what my schedule looks like currently :>
Current queue is still being cleared, mostly VF take home commissions. You can see a full break down of my To Do's on my trello board. Had this for a while but figure sharing is caring <3
Reviving my Patreon from hibernation, it's per paid post which is great for me and patrons not looking for monthly charges (or deadlines in my case heh) Next paid post should drop June 1st, the vote on whether it'll be Lakeside or Campfire is pretty neck and neck - check that out if you like icon stuff :>
My goal is to open publicly for icons again this summer, I have some other projects in mind but we'll see how this next month shakes out.
I stream during weekends and some evenings, can follow me on Twitch if you like chill music/spooky podcasts and some good ol fashion flash drawing!

Vancoufur 2017 Post Con / Take home list

I was Community Spotlight - Guest of Honour this year at Vancoufur!
Big thanks to for managing us artists, the adorable figurines of all the GoHers and making the con spiffy and awesome overall. Thanks to the other GoH's 
and Lawrence for being such fun peeps. There were so many staff and volunteers who were good to us but I'd like to mention 
and Oroshii for being super sweet and helpful - thank you both for your dedication.
I'll be posting some of the art I did for the con, now that it's over I can share some of the secret stuff I worked on :D
Had a great time (minus our car breaking down friday night - that was lame) con itself was fun! I hosted a Live Drawn Response event for Charity. Thank you everyone who attended and donated - we raised 100$ for the con Charity - OWL - you all rock!
I was impressed by the GoH dinner! Last time I'd attended the dinner it was all cold buffet style food which wasn't bad (might have been the first or second year of the con) but this year was faaaancy! Food was delish (had options for beef, chicken, seafood or veggie I think), we had accompanying live music and a really cool Space cake.
Shout of to Selkit for the awesome multipass badge - I'm still in awe - and theming this year :D
Thank you everyone who attended, staffed and volunteered for making this another great year!
