sweats. oh lord.

I will be gone from October 25th - October 29th to attend TFCON Chicago. This is my first convention I’ve gone to out of state and also my first Transformers convention! I’ll be rooming with some friends and I feel positively excited.

I will not be able to reply to emails or commission inquiries while I am away on vacation. I hope you will all have an enjoyable weekend!

Well everyone, last Friday I went into the hospital for my bilateral mastectomy/top surgery. After 3 hours under the knife and then an hour or two more coming out from anesthesia, I was able to go home that night.

To the diligence and skill of my surgeon and doctors, I've been feeling better and better every day since that major procedure. I'm very excited for what the future in my recovery holds! Tomorrow I have a follow-up with my surgeon, and I might have my surgical drains removed which would be one less thing to be concerned about while I walk around the house recovering.

I appreciate the kindness from friends who have sent me good wishes before and after the surgery. I was even lucky enough to be sent flowers, which is one of the sweetest gifts I've ever been sent.

I've been pretty inactive!!

As much as transitioning (you gotta love those phone calls to keep trying to get hospital dates!!) and dealing with clinical depression drains me, I really should make more effort and time to interact with other artists and users because I'm missing out on interacting with the community.

Happy New Year everybody!

To try and focus on the positives:
-I had my medications changed at the end of November and I feel like I have more energy and will to actually do things I enjoy
-I'm still in post-college burnout so I get to look forward to more rest and getting to know myself!
-I've drawn nearly every day of this new year
-I started and finished my first sewing project in a long time, I need to upload it
-Gonna try and get that sweet, sweet Top Surgery this year so I won't have to stress and worry about it later

I hope to make this a year I can do more to help out artists, esp the ones that are going to be struggling under the new shitty-ass oligarchy of a government. I'm pretty lucky to be debt-free and have insurance. Most people don't have that and I sure, sure hope that changes someday.

Hello everyone, yesterday was my last academic obligation before winter break starts. My semester officially ends on the 20th, and then I only have 1 more semester before I officially graduate! I'm so nervous and excited!

In addition to that, I've also uploaded my Senior Thesis project - my short comic Small Story. You can read the first page of it in my FA gallery here, and viewed in its HQ entirety on my official tumblr blog!

I've been packing the past two days for my trip back up to my college apartments tomorrow. I'm super excited and, of course, anxious since this will be my final year attending undergraduate college. Once I finish my last few classes I'll have my BA/Bachelor of Arts degree!

This semester is also when I can finally start hormone replacement therapy, which I was unable to do last year do to my onset of endometriosis and having to deal with that first before I could comfortably begin transitioning.

I'm looking forward to this school year! I hope everyone else is doing well school or job-wise!

I finally finished my semester, and now I'm on summer break. I'm SO glad, it was a very stressful semester trying to deal with medical side-effects (which are giving me a false menopause) and an Art History class, which I'm hoping I passed. I struggle with classes that involve heavy reading and writing.

In a few weeks my datemate  Forteh is going to visit me and we're going to celebrate our half-a-year anniversary! 6 whole months together! I can't wait to hold them for the first time.

My goals (not necessarily all of them) for this summer are:
Adjust commission prices and open up commissions again
Look into graduate school options
Work on my portfolio
Have a darn good time with Forteh
Relax!

Hello people, I had an adventure this weekend. On Saturday I woke up on an 8/10 pain scale with huge abdominal pain and some very nasty symptoms, so I went to the Tang center where I worsened for a time until they gave me morphine which knocked my pain from an 8 to a 4/10. Since the Tang center couldn't evaluate if it was my appendix or something else internal, they sent me to the hospital to be tested and watched overnight on the suspicion I had appendicitis. Since I wasn't really in the best state of mind in the morning, I didn't have a phone charger and had to use the hospital phone to tell my parents I was going to be at the hospital. I'd never ever been to a hospital before, so there were some interesting stressors and new things there. I spent a few hours in the patient waiting room because, like Tang, the hospital was packed and busy. I drew to pass the time. Eventually I got an ER room, and they ran a CT scan on me, which didn't even show my appendix because apparently my body is just that way, but there also wasn't any sign of inflammation around the appendix. Mystery deepens!

I fall in and out of sleep around 3 AM, when I'm officially admitted and can get a proper hospital bed. I wake up around 7 or 8 AM because my parents, bless their hearts, drove up because they couldn't catch a plane fast enough. After the doctors thoroughly looking at my CT scans, two abnormal growths are found on my ovaries. So apparently, I've got bilateral ovarian cysts! After seeing if I could eat and hold down food after 24+ hours "eating" my IV drip, I finally get discharged and out of the hospital at 3 pm on Sunday.

Now, until I can see a proper OBGYN/GYN I don't know if it's entirely the cysts or if the cysts are just a symptom of something else, but at least it's not an appendectomy. Pain seems manageable enough that I should be back in classes on Wednesday!

Okay, I think it's safe to say I'm comfortably settled in my new FA account. I've rewatched all my favorite artists on my previous account, and I've uploaded what are currently my favorite art pieces that I have done.
