Posted 6 years agoThe time has come my lovely friends, to find out what my plans are for that lovely convetion of madness known as...ANTHROCON! Here is my deet's and the low down on the who what where when. Dont ask why. There's never an answer to that.
Anyways, here's my info about the con and all!
Where are you staying?
Drury Plaza hotel. So Funderful!
What day are you getting there?
I'll be getting in on Wednesday, the 3rd. Yay, holiday traffic. This..may not have been the best thought out plan....
How are you traveling?
The Burr shall be aquiring a vehicle, and that shall be transporting this wolf, his burr, and all thr burrs and beasts stuff for a successful Anthroconing!
Who are you rooming with?
Burr, Bresnan, and Paws
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
See above, and other's. there's a list. It might or might not be secret. You might or might not be on it. Hell, I might or might not be on it. There may or may not be cookies involved.
How is the best way to find you?
Look for the pale white lion with glowing blue eye's, if I am in fursuit, otherwise...look for a guy with a black backpack on, and walking with a staff. I will also have 2 Joltiks either on me, or on my backpack. Their names are Amp and Ohm. *Friendly churr!*
Are there any panels you might be attending?
There will be the werewolfing, the Therian panel, Macro Micro meetup, amongst others. Zootopia.
What do you look like?
Big, bearish, prolly wearing a bandana of some sort...white guy, balding. Wearing a backpack, with a staff. will have a joltik on me. *Churr!*
Will you be suiting?
Yup. Pale lion, looks white form a distance, glowing blue eyes. Most likely the last year for this suit.
Do you do commissions?
Yes, but will not have a dealer's den. Check my FA for painting's and rubber band critters.

Male, obviously.

Sure! I'm kinda insane, so not sure why you want to, but then again, if you are talking to me, you have conjured me up as part of your reality..or I conjured you up..or..What was the question again?

Have you bathed that day? If so, yes. Politely. Snug's, scritchies, and huggles are all fine. Try anything else, and you will find yourself being stalked by an Angry burr. Especially as I am now engaged to said burr. SURPRISE!

Can I visit your room?

Posted 7 years ago17 years ago, One of my friends went to breakfast....and never came home. Instead, I, and the world, got to see her murdered on national TV. She and her parents were dining at Window of the World restaurant for breakfast on 9/11/01. At 8:46 am, their lives were over. I do not know if they died earlier or later, at what point during the 102 minute ordeal until the North Tower fell that they drew their last breath, but at 10:28, the building collapsed. I hope and pray that they didn't suffer, that none of those trapped above the plane did. For 102 minutes, they were in literal hell on earth.
And I, every year, weep at this loss.
I am so angry that this happened. Yes, I have had other losses and death. Other people have left, sometimes painfully. But this wound, this still feels too raw, to wide a gaping hole to ever close.
Everyone deals with this day in their own way. 17 years later, for some, it is the echo of a nightmare. It happened, but it's over. Other's struggle with to cope, to put lives back together after they were cruelly crushed that morning.
But regardless of how we deal, we still, everyone the world over, saw almost 3000 people get murdered.
I weep, and I rage. And yet for all this, I can do nothing. I will never be able to hear or see her again.

Ac Report
Posted 7 years agoMan, this time went by fast. I have to say, this year was by far the best AC I have had. Thank you to everyone I met for making it so, and Pittsburgh, for hosting us. I got to meet so many good people, and hang out with many friends! Sadly, I am most likely retiring the Artemis fursuit for now, but will be debuting hopefully a new one next year. Which of the 42 will it be? *grins* You'll have to come to AC to find out!
As I was last year, I was in the Art Show again this year, and had a rousing success! 4 out of 5 pieces sold, so I am going to need to make more paintings to bring them in next year! This wolf is starting to be recognized as an artist!
I have some more vacation time left, as I'm not heading back to work until the 16th. But this was overall a very good convention, many good things happened. I am a happy and content wolf.

I Am Engaged
Posted 7 years agoI am posting this, after an extremely pleasant night. June 16th, 2018, Burr and I become engaged. I asked him to marry me, and he said yes.
I went about and recreated our first date, taking him to Distant Worlds, music from final fantasy.
Overall, we had a good dinner, good time, and now, I am very very happy!

I have my zootopia panel with Highwing at 2-4 on Sunday. and the micro macro panel on Friday night. I'll be hosting my normal games, including a thursday night rendition of Are you a werewolf. Come, play, be lynched, get eaten, do the lynching, do the eating...It's all in good fun!

Look for the pale white lion with glowing blue eye's, if I am in fursuit, otherwise...look for a guy with a black backpack on, and walking with a staff. I will also have a Joltik either on me, or on my backpack. His name is Amp. *Friendly churr!*
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Oh man. There are plenty. I will be at the Macrofur panel, and then right after that comes the first of THREE panels, I am hosting. I have the Therian and Otherkin reasearch panel at 3-5 on Friday, then an hour break, and then the zootopia panel at 6 that I am a cohost to. That night, I host Are you a werewolf! Come, see if you can lynch your friends! Then, the next day, I host my Therianthropy panel from 4-5:30, and that night Lupus in Tabula. Busy wolf, hosting thing's, and running games, Plus there's the fursuit parade.....so much to do!
What do you look like?
Big, bearish, prolly wearing a bandana of some sort...white guy, balding. Wearing a backpack, with a staff. will have a joltik on me. *Churr!*

Yup. Pale lion, looks white form a distance, glowing blue eyes.

Why is this a favorite? Well, it's got a very simple but pleasing melody, easy to remember lyrics, and at the end, a wish for peace. While I don't believe in christ, This song has something almost..romantic and quaint about it. And at the end, He will bring us goodness and Light! What's not to like about a song that want's to bring you that?!?
The 2nd song is Where are you Christmas, by Faith Hill. This song was written as a tie in to the live action grinch movie. Movie aside, it is of a person asking where Christmas has gone. Lyrics below.

Christmas truly is here, wether our thermometer's say it is. I work retail and alot of the time this time of year is very hard for me to focus on feeling..christmasey. I don't. Working in retail, it's miserable this time of year. And it can often seem as if Christmas, well, it's gone away. But christmas is more than just a day on a calendar. It's a feeling. It's a way of thinking. And even the grinch realized that at the end. Regardless of your take on the movie, it is a beautiful song. And it ties nicely into the 3rd.
The 3rd song is Promises to Keep, by Trans Siberian Orchestra. Many of you know them for thier Wizards in Winter, or Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24. Yes, those are popular songs, with pounding chords and thrilling guitars. This song though, is a childrens chorus. Set to a simple music, There are no rock elements. It's simple, refreshing, and clean. Lyrics below.

AC Report, or State of the Joltik!
Posted 10 years agoWell, another Anthrocon has come and gone. And this year was SPECTACULAR! *CHURR!* Yes, Amp, I'll get to that part!
All started on wednesday, when my Burr arrived at my place, before the trek to Pittsburgh, now, I'm lucky and live in Ohio, so it's about 2.5 hours the way we drove.
Roomed with Draco, Denyen, Luther, my burr, and Arcius, at the Renaissance. A Beautiful hotel, and the service there never disappoints. We got in mid afternoon on thursday, registered, and then sat around the zoo for a while with Malcolm the burr and his mate, wolfric and Draco, playing Resistance. Burr, you is a spy, no matter what you say!!!
Friday, we were up early, attended the Therian focus group, various other panels, got to finally attend the macro meetup, where I won a badge from Geemo! YAAAAY! Hung out with people, had some great food, great time, hosted my are you a werewolf panel, and then, sleep!
Saturday was my LONGEST DAY! *CHURR!* Yes AMP, I'm getting to it. Impatient joltiks. Woke up early again, to attend another focus group for therian's, and then some down time before the parade! and waht a parade t was, first, they allowed Burr in to be my handler, which I was SOOO appreciative of, as otherwise, I wouldn't have really even tried this year. But with him, I was in safe hands, and could navigate the streets of pittsburgh safely! That's right, they took the parade OUTSIDE! One lady was complimenting my costume at some point and then she noticed amp and was screaming about him! OH HE HAS A JOLTIK! *happy churring!* Made his day. The city does truly love us!
It was exhausting, but well worth it. I then had my panel on Therianthropy at 6 that night, and woooooow were burr and I shocked at the turnout. I was gonna count myself lucky if I got like 20 people in there, but I had about 75. Talk technically ended at 7, but as the room wasn't being used right away, I stayed in there for another 45 minutes. What's even better is alot of the researcher's came to the talk as well, showing a ton of support for me. I was SO tired after it, emotionally drained, physically drained and in pain, but so happy about how it went. Met so many good people! I actually headed back to the room about midnight, which is very odd for me on a con night, but I was so tired.
Sunday, I slept in, headed to the con, and met up with Tibor and the rest of my fellow predator's for a furshoot! It was on the roof, again in blazing sunlight, but was a blast anyways! I took it easy on Sunday, went to the debriefing session, and then hung around the zoo, had dinner, met up with more friends, and then played a very fun game called JS Joust! Man that was fun. Got back to the room at about 12, fully and utterly wiped, but extremely happy. Talked a while more with draco, Arcius and my burr, and then...Monday comes, and back to my real life.
Ac, you were a blast this year, and I can't wait till next year! See you then!

Love Won
Posted 10 years agoSo, as most of you know, I'm NOT a morning wolf. Never have been. if I get up at the ass crack of noon, that's early for me. I had to work today, June 26th, so I got up about 1:30. I checked my phone. Got a text form my dad about an hour before I got up. I...stared at my phone. The message was that the Supreme court legalized gay marriage. I literally was in SHOCK. Then, A huge smile broke out, and I was laughing and crying. I texted my dad back a long all caps YAAAAAAY! Love Won. The right to chose whom I want to marry, whether it be a woman, or man. was mine. To echo Kalan's journal, One day, Some day, is now..ANY DAY. My burr and I can go to a courthouse, anywhere, and get married. I'm still trying to process this, but I have alternatively been crying and laughing all day long. I am finally allowed to be a a 1st rate citizen of my country. I am PROUD to be an American today. I have been reading the opinions of the court ((104 pages is a lot to get through)) While Robert's dissented, his opinion is thought provoking and I think, heartfelt. Scalia on the other hand...sheesh dude. Chill.
But I digress. Today, we celebrate. To semi quote a fav song...

Back from St Louis
Posted 10 years agoSo I went to day into St Louis, and had a great time. Went iwth my bf Burr and Draco of zeredaith, and saw...so many tings!
Went to Cahokia mounds, and did a very leg tiring walk up the Monks Mound. This thing is about 100 foot high, and the views are breathtaking!!! It was a clear beautifyul wamr sunny day, and we can see all the way to downtown St Louis about 10-11 miles away. Very good views of the site around, including other mounds, and the woodhendge they had.
We spent some time there, taking pics, and then headed into ST Louis Proper for..a zoo trip! Of course! And the St Louis Zoo is big, sprawling, and beautiful. Saw alot of animals and got some awesome pics I'll have to post later!
After words, we had to take the big golden one to the Arch, as he's never been before. We got there, but it was too late to catch the ride up to the top. Unfortuanetly, while draco and i could get to the inside of the arch, at the base, the Gift Shop was closed, so he couldn't get anything for him mom.
Got some good pics there as well!!
Met up with Dragonien, and Talrex at Denny's in St Charles ((I am noticing this pattern in missouri cities)) And..I crossed the Missouri River!! A big thing for me, as I have never even seen this river before! I mean, St Louis is on the mississipi, but to see a tiny part of the longest river int the states..((yes, the Missouri is longer)) was pretty cool. Anyways, had a wild dinner with them, adn then back to Olney, so we can rest..FOR THE DERBY!!!

Vacation update number 1!
Posted 10 years agoWelp guy's, I am in Olney Illinois. I am writing this while laying in my burr's bed, while he is scritching me. Ah, the life's of canine's, and the scritchings. But after a potentially disastrous start to my trip, day 1 of vacation is done.
The potential disaster came on the morning of the 17th. I had arranged transportation through a cab company that I am a regular of. pick me up at 5 am, and take me down town. This would get me to the station in enough time to not worry about taking the bus. yeah, 5 am, no cab. I call. The guy says the one cabbie went home at 4 to do shit with his kids..((really?)) and he, the remaining driver, was broke down in CLEVELAND.
I was like..well..FUUUUUCK.
I started making phone calls. Got a friend to come pick me up, and made it to he bus station, with about 5 minutes to spare. Buss pulled in, and this wolf was on his way!
left akron at 6, didn't get into louisville KY until about 4 30. Met Burr and Draco at the station, and then met up with Denyen and Luther at Ihop! Went to a friend of draco's alter that night, and then came home. slept like the deeeeaaaadd.
Today, late start do to said sleeping, which was ok, was Thunder over Louisville. I attended last year, but this was Burr's first time. I know you all remember that journal, with the infamous 10 mile death hike. This year, just 7 blocks, No death hikes for Burr.
Thunder was AMAZING! Absolutely over the top, and perfectly synced, and yes, they did play frozen for a bit, and THE ENTIRE CROWD SANG ALONG! That was...amazing.
Finally back in Olney, in burr's bed. Overall, an amazing day! I am so happy! I will try and be around a bit but...I'm on Vacation.

Who want's to bet that if something like this happened at either the republican or democratic national conventions, it would be investigated EXTREMELY thoroughly. But, because it happens to furries......well, the results are mixed. And would so SERIOUSLY like to have a conversation with those newscasters. What, did they never have an imagination as a kid? They don't have children of their own? We are Furries. We all come from EVERY walk of life. As Kage and 2 pointed out in my very first AC, there was a furry that passed who was an EMT in Chicago.People came out in full fursuit to pay thier respects to this man, and no one batted an eye. He did his job, he was brave, and he was killed in the line of duty.

Why would any sane ((questionable)) Rational((Am i?)) Adult believe in Santa? Well, I think that is perhaps best left to a letter that I always like this time of year.

I ahve to say this is partly the reason why. The other part, we go back to when I was in my teens. My sister wanted one of those dolls, you know the ones, those that have that bazillion expensive accesories, like strollers, and clothes and stuff. Well, I knew that my parents had gotten her the doll, but they couldn't afford the stroller. Christmas morning comes, presents are opened, and after all the fuss, there is one present left. Now, my parents when signing Santa's name always used big block style lettering. This tag was in a fancy old fashioned script, and the paper...the paper was unlike any we had seen. Beautiful! Inside, was the stroller that my sister wanted for this doll. I know my parents didn't by it, as they were having a whispered back and forth about this. My sister played with taht doll and stroller for many many years. So yes. I beleive in Santa. What's that you ask? Have I ever gotten gifts for myself from the big guy? *smiles* Well. Yes, I have. but those are for another story.

I mean, come on. Who in the furry fandom DOESNT want a cute little critter of their own.
Really guy's, I can make almost any animal, or do almost any bracelet out there. I have nearly every color form rainbow looms stock, and will be getting more.

Posted 11 years agoGuy's, I need some help. For once, not monetarily. It's more about my job. for the past 5 years, I have been working for for the largest retail jeweler in the States. Alot of you know at least 1 or 2 of our brands, but please, no names of them. The jingles and commercials are familiar to all. Anyways. My issues is this. I work in customer care, and as part of the job, we get compliance to give us call quality monitors. Last year, I kinda sucked. But I was new at the position, and that helped. I improved a lot this year, and Feb through May, met quality. Calls have to be at 90.2% or above to meet quality. Anything below that, and it's a fail. and if you fail JUST ONE CALL, you fail quality for the month. I missed June, and then passed July. 1 month here and there I'm not worried about. But then I failed August....September...and now October. And some of my calls have been really low..in the 70% range. Anything below I think 84% is automatically sent to the directors. No choice, jsut bam, they see that. Now, Compliance was grading things they shouldn't have been grading, and for that, September is being thrown out, and possibly October. However, I still had those bad calls. I have been trying to get to listen to them. Mostly, what's failing me is my tone.And here's my issue. On a call, in the heat of the moment. I can't hear when I am being condenscending or things like that. It's one thing when I am being sarcastic, or stuff, but in another, when I think I am doing well, I sound like a jerk. I lecture, instead of explain. Anyone who has heard me explain anything in chemistry can attest to this. I know Burr can. But try as I might, I can't figure out how to hear it, or pic up on it. And even though I have asked repeatedly for the past 3 months....I haven't been able to sit down with my supervisor to listen to these calls, both good and bad. It's getting really frustrating, and nerve wracking for me, and we are halfway through November. Peak season is literally just a few days away here!!!! Any suggestions? Do I go to my sup and demand to listen to them? Ask again? Go to my manager? The leadership team is set up so that each associate reports to a supervisor, and groups of supervisor's report to a manager. My manager, she is awesome, and helped get me into the department. But I'm scared about going over my sup's head, as that backfired on me already in Authorizations, part of the reason I came down to Customer Care in the first place. I really need some advice here guy's. I'm scared, haven't been sleeping well, and need help. I don't want to be written up. I haven't been with this company for 5 years to start being written up now.

You are sorely missed. I will always remember what times we had in high school, and then online in the beginning days of the internet and online, as you moved to NYC. I will also remember with horror that morning, as I watched here, from home with my parents, your last final hours. I didn't know it at the time, but a piece of me died on that bright and sunny day. A wound unhealing. It's been 13 years I know, but your death is just..so senseless, so foreign and alien to me. You had just gotten out of the hospital, been told by the doctor's your leg was healing fine, and you could go home. Your dad must have planned that breakfast or something weeks in advance. I....I can't imagine what you went through, trapped up there, no way down. The pain, the terror. Did..did you know what had happened, and what was further happening? Could you see the second plane crash?
One of the brief moments of cold comfort is knowing that you were out cold, or already dead when the North tower collapsed. I miss you my dear Star. I always will. I haven't made it to Ground Zero yet, but..they did build a very beautiful memorial on the site. My sister went. Even though you and she weren't close, Becky said she shed a tear for you. I'm...not really able to go. No good way up there, and I'm scared of what I might feel, or have happen. I don't know if I could withstand having the wound reopened like that. Someday I will make it there, and I will lay roses on the site, your final resting place. You will still always, and forever be, in my heart.
