Back from AC. Twas fun. Realize I really need to get over my shyness if I want to network better. Created a fursona name Sketch Puppy, but gonna change the name due to people thinking I was Sketch Dalmatian and thus getting a bad rep. No idea who that guy is, but people would give me this look of "Ooooh, you're THAT guy", so for sake of clearing confusion gonna change the name.

Thinking of going to another furry con. Dunno which. We'll see how that works out.

Looking up the pieces for the meme reminded me how much I love each of the above's artwork, and how I've strayed too far from trying to learn from it. I want a cartoony comic book style with simple shapes. Gonna have to work on that.

Tekkoshocon is less than a month away, and I'm rather excited.  kyote and I are running the Art Show, and this year's shaping up to be pretty awesome.  indigoangelcat and  jenkiwi are staffing for us, so yeah, should be fun.

After that, AC. Kinda worried. Looks like I might be flying solo in Artist Alley, and I don't have nearly enough markers to do commissions. Worried, but eh, guess I'll buy more markers. Filling in the role of "Straight Guy Sleeping on the Floor"/aka rooming with Kyote,  red-dog ,  leafy , and  thepatches so things should be pretty epic.

Firstly, so not dead. Not that anyone would've really noticed what with FA being down and all, but still, I'm not dead.

Short and sweet version of what could be a long journal;

Anthro Con was one of the best and worst con experiences I've ever had. More post-AC journal later when its not 2:49 am and I'm almost done reading "The Watchmen".

Shit ton of art is on the way. Blame AC for that.

Commissions are GO! Totally loved drawing for monies at AC, will do it again. And I learned how to color with markers, yay!

In between "The Dark Knight", renting "Gears of War", and finally picking up "The Watchmen", my mind has been blown by some of the best works I've seen as of late.

My comic is still a WIP, but once I finish the last page I owe a friend I'll finish up the script and work on the arts.

So I'm curious to see if anyone wants to start up a Weekly 30 Min Art Jam? Essentially, its just a group of artist who all choose to draw the same thing. Mostly its fanart of characters chosen by someone. I say "30 Min" cause this way we can all say "Well, at least I spent 30 minutes drawing something I don't normally draw." At the end of the week, you post on FA what you drew, and someone else picks the next subject. Etc etc.

1. A small list of foods I have NEVER eaten in my entire life: a hamburger, a salad, corn on the cobb, ballogna, and pretty much any Mexican food ever made save for a single bite of a taco...which was a horrible idea...
2. From what I understand, I didn't say my first word untill I was almost 4 years old.
3. I cling to that one small sliver of hope with everything that I've got, despite what my normally emo mood shows.
4. My most frequent reaccuring dream of recent years? Through shenanigans, Showcase has reopened and everyone that I used to work with is there.
5. Biggest regret that isn't about my ex-girlfriend or my addiction to cigarettes? Never taking a flim class and making my own movies. I'd love to make movies.
6. I feel embarrassed/slightly jealous when seeing friends or others my age portfolios. I'm so focused on cartooning and sequential art that everthing else has fallen to the way side.
7. On the other hand, I've never felt more proud/happy/accomplished then when I see a finished drawing, and see that I learned something along the way.
8. I'm absolutly certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will be succesful in the comic's field. Its going to take years of hard work, but no one will ever be able to convince me that I can't make it happen if I try.

What's up pup's and kittens? (Get it! Its cause this is an anthro site! Pup's! Kittens...? Oh never mind...)

My name's T.J., and I'm a 23 year old cartoonist living in Pittsburgh. I love comics in all forms, movies (a lot), and I have a fascination with samurai's of the ass kicking variety. I'll admit that drawing anthro art isn't exactly my forte, but I think its sometimes a fun thing to draw. Combining animal's and humans to make a believeable character is hard, and I have nothing but respect for those that do it with gusto and grace.

I plan on attending the Pittsburgh Anthrocon this summer in the artist alley. I think it'll be a fun challenge.

I don't have much anthro art, and I'm going to work on that, but right now I'm stuck between two big projects with a January deadline, so when I'm done with those expect some art.

There's going to be a lot of fan-art most likely. I love "Usagi Yojimbo", "Herobear" and "Blacksad", and "TMNT" was just awesome, so that should be fun.

Anyhoo, hopefully sooner rather then later, expect some neat things.
