Should I attempt?


Stuck in an art-rut... I have a commission that I really do not want to do.. It features 8 rats..
I fail at group shots... and every time I try to draw it I just lose interest in drawing.
Help?
Ideas?
How do you come up with decent 'group shot' drawings?


This is yet another commission I will be doing for free since I can never seem to get them finished within a month.
No more commissions after this. At least not for a reeeally long time.. or only do sketches... or something.. Dx

I swear, one of these days I will be more active.
My boyfriend is pressuring me into starting a comic which I've been playing around with ideas for.
If you guys are interested, I will post one of the ref sheets and some doodles.
Perhaps toss out the premise for comic.
Still need to decide on what I want the outcome of the comic to be.. but I am very excited for it.

Also, I am posting the following everywhere since some people elsewhere are having issues interpreting this. This is a response I gave of MY interpretation(slightly edited).
"The rat could symbolize a person who is weak, or ill, or someone who is isolated/misunderstood/etc.. The serpent could represent someone whom they cared very much for and that person [drove them to the edge, where they finally retaliated].
The serpent is assumed to be the instigator of the conflict. Where it could also be the other way around. Simply by being a rat, by it's nature, the snake attacked. Just as a person who has a withdrawn personality may reinforce a controlling type's behavior. Which in turn causes the withdrawn one to withdraw more, and the controlling one to get a tighter grip. [Until they both lose it]"
I'd prefer it if everyone just came up with their own thoughts on what this piece means given the title. I like art to be whatever "you" interpret it as.

**EDit* - So apparently it is just my computer.. which still confuses me on why the same picture would show up different colors...
Oh well...*

So... my computer is officially retarded, and by retarded I mean mentally slow, and by that I mean that it doesn't like me. xD
When I've spent a lot of time on a picture and then save it, the colors show up weird when I upload or view it on Window Photo Gallery and Paint. So far this has only happened with pictures that have purple in them(even just a small amount).
They show up fine in the drawing program (Photoshop, Sai) but when uploaded to Photobucket, or viewed in Windows Photo Gallery, the colors are off and some shadow layers end up extremely dark. Some shading will have a brighter color as shading, etc.

To rid of that 9 month old journal. Lots has happened since then that I don't really feel like posting.

For those that don't know, my art comes in spurts. I often disappear for long periods of time.

Okay, here we go.

A short while ago I broke up with my boyfriend of 2 and a half years, Lyle. Since I was living at his parent's place at the time I ended up moving into my grandparent's basement until I get a new car, as well as an apartment of some sort. The problem is, there is no internet in the basement, and my computer does not have wireless(I really don't feel like purchasing wireless right now).

After moving out things got worse at my job. See, I have been struggling with my weak lungs, and working at a newspaper plant was making things worse. It wasn't that noticeable at first.. but over time I started getting more and more lung infections. So I started wearing a dust mask, which they supply right at work. I wore that for while until I noticed that I started feeling more and more tired during my shift. A few hours after putting it on I would get light headed, drowsy, unable to think straight... The only possibility was the dust mask. My lungs weren't strong enough to take in enough air and thus not enough oxygen was getting to my brain.

Then this past week I started coughing up lots of phlegm and having really bad troubles breathing.. so I gave my notice at work and went to see the doctor. Ended up spending $200 on 2 inhalers and some pills...

On a happy note, I have an awesome friend who has been there for me through all this, helping me keep my sanity... Though, there are some more personal confusing things on that matter that I will not go into right now. xD

So there is my update! YAY
Now I go to work (because I still have a few days left before I am done)

A little over a month ago my tablet pen melted after putting a new battery in it. So I decided to finally buy a Wacom Tablet (all other tablets I have owned were really cheap brands), doodled a couple little doodles, but haven't really touched it since. No time. Dx

I am sure I will be drawing again soon.

I had the free trail of Spore: Creature Creator, and I thought it was too awesome, so I gave up $10 to get more items to make creatures with... and now I can't wait for the actual game to come out.

Anyways, so I was mucking around and thought "Hey! I should try to make a Krinder!" and that youtube link at the top will show you what I came up with.
I don't think Krinders would move like that, I think they would move more like a caterpillar or snake using the bug limbs only if they have to.
Also, the vocals are pretty close to what I envision generic Krinders to sound like, except for the low pitch growl, it would be a lot more kitten(or something) sounding.

Oh! And I am unable to upload or draw any pictures at this time as I am house sitting my g'ma's house, and seeing as my desktop is so big, and their desk is so small, I have no where to put my laptop (which is what I have to draw on.. stupid Vista..).

- What inspires you to do whatever it is you like to do?

I find that the same thing that inspires me, also can cause me to fall into an artblock. That thing would be drawings.
Really enjoy looking at artwork, but sometimes I get into this mood where I feel like I can't draw anything, and that causes me to draw even worse.

- When you hit a MASSIVE art block, how do you you go about getting rid of it?

- What do you feel makes my art worth looking at? Do I have a style that sticks out? What about my style do you feel makes me unique (if I have a unique style)? If my style is not unique, could you explain why?

Another question.
I find that my artwork is very personal (see why on my first response below). Sometimes I try drawing what I am not feeling at the time, because I felt that the emotion I was feeling doesn't need to be portrayed at that moment. However, I am started to believe that might be the reason for some of my artblocks.
Here is the question(Three parts, kind of):
Should I post art that I am not happy with? Should I post doodles and stuff that I am not happy with (in scraps?)? Or would it be preferred if I only posted stuff that I, personally, felt is finished?

I would like to say that at this time I do not wish to do Vore commissions (Or regular commissions for that matter).
There are 2 reasons for this.
1. I do not feel I am ready, still feel I need more practice. Especially for commissions that require swallowing. I have not yet practiced drawing throats or stomachs.
2. I find it very hard for me to take commissions because I feel under a lot of pressure. I had a bad experience with commissions before, so I do not quite feel ready in this aspect either.

I do take requests from time to time, but please do not force it on me. If I end up with too many requests I end up with an art block and then no one gets anything. :(

It really helps to improve.

First of all, thank you to everyone who is watching me, or has faved a picture I have drawn.

Second, I am going to apologize ahead of time for any inactivity that I may show.
The thing is, I tend to get art blocks quite frequently, and the last for long periods of time.
I will update as much as possible, but I cannot promise anything. If an image feels unfinished to me, I tend not to post it(unless it's all in fun).

Just thought this would be the easiest way to let people know.

Oh! And another thing. I have been known, on very rare occasions to upload A LOT of pictures all at once (if I have an "Art Burst")... however this is extremely rare, and I will usually just put all those images into one image and upload it as an art dump, unless I am really proud of (a) specific picture(s).

Time has been going by so fast. Just two days ago me and my boyfriend purchased an Xbox.. and the new Katamari game. Today my boyfriend decided to buy another game.. I think it is called "Lost Planet".
Its a pretty fun game.. (I am a little better than he is at it xD ) but I get stressed too easy with those kinds of games, so I didn't play long.

I have noticed many submissions on here (sexual or not) that if a character is overheating(hot) they show sweat, usually on the fur.

Now, if an animal were to sweat as much as a human did, through their skin, wouldn't their fur get all matted and sticky?

I was kind of curious about it...
Canines and Felines(and probably some other mammals) sweat through their tongues, paw pads, and their nose.

Don't know.. haha.. just thought I'd throw something out there.. curious is all..

I am really sorry that I am fail at updating my gallery.
Don't get me wrong, I draw ALL the time. It's just either I feel my art sucks too much to post, I get too lazy to scan and post it, I scan it then can't finish it, or I am really hating my scanner at the moment and don't want to deal with it.
Currently I am in the process of scanning approx. 20 images for an art dump (Not including small little doodlydoos). Some of those images might be cleaned up and finished.
Lately I just haven't felt that my art is good enough. Plus my style never stops changing, and that bugs the heck out of me. Pretty sure my latest "style" of drawing sucks balls.. big time. The drawings that will be going in the art dump are about a 1day - 5months old. Hope I am able to get myself to at least do that...
Apologies from me for my low self-esteem as of late. For some reason I am really not happy with my art. I still draw, I can't stop, but I just feel so armature. Constantly I am trying to improve my art but it just doesn't feel good enough. There is the odd time something MIGHT actually turn out decent... but hands... hands rarely work for me. I keep drawing them, trying not to hide them, but they just suck so bad. My boyfriend keeps encouraging me... but it doesn't help.
Tried all sorts of tutorials for hands, and it works for a short time, then I lose it and go back to not being able to draw them right.

Sorry.
Hope I can get something up for you guys. It must be a huge disappointment to watch someone who never updates.
