Just wanted to do a quick update on what's going on with Skies for spring and what you'll see:

1. Easter is on its way and I'd really like to do something Easter related...which, of course, means eggs! So, I'm open for suggestions on any TF story that includes eggs. Let me know below if you've got any eggy ideas!
2. I'm looking for an editor! While I think I'm ok at editing, I always seem to miss one thing or another when I post a story. So, if you're willing to help a writer out and maybe see a story early, let me know if you can help with editing! I'm going to keep my story posting at two Original Skies Stories™ maximum in a month so I promise not to overwhelm you! And it could be a one thing too or however it works, I'd just like to have a second set of eyes to ensure my stories are a bit more polished and readable.
3. I finished my last active trade recently, so I'm open for more trades if anyone is interested. If you've got something in mind, send me a note and we can work something out!
4. I'm going to be posting a separate survey journal in the near future for feedback in regards to things like my stories, the Halflight Hotel game spirtiual successor, future contest prospects, and Patreon/Ko-Fi opinions. Or I might just separate them into question journals of their own! We'll see.
5. More stories upcoming!!! Including a few dragon ones and a remastered favorite of mine. I'll be posting my backlog bi-weekly, so keep an eye out on alternate weeks!

Just finished up a trade and now starting a collab, but I've noticed it's been over a year since the last "canon" (read: non-commission, non-collab) and if I don't count Diverted Display then it's been over 2 years since the last, Mere Mirror . Geez, and that was the flagship Skies Series™.

So, I'm thinking I might write the next Mirror Peer sooner rather than later. I really want to make this one special and set apart from the others, not just a rehash of a person looking into a mirror and being rendered a lusty lizard lady--though that's always appreciated. At the same time, I am tempted to rewrite and rework the original as it certainly shows its age. Anyways, while I'm pondering some ideas of my own, what would ya'll like to see from the next Mirror Peer?

Just finishing up on a trade, so I'll be working on an original skiesofsilver story (®) soon. I haven't quite decided what to do next, so I thought I'd take some reader feedback based off the thoughts below:

1. Sequel Story: Some sort of sequel to something I've written. Ones I'd like to do include The Horned Lord II involving more anthro deer TFs or a story taking place in the same brothel as Brothel Bovine and following another dissatisfied customer who ends up as something more desireable, species yet to be determined. Other sequels are not out of the question either.

2. Preg TF(TG): This has been a recent favorite theme of mine and I'd like to see more of it...which means I could write some. I'm thinking something more mammalian in regards to this, especially husky or doberman for whatever reason but I wouldn't mind add more oviposition to the pool especially if it involves dragons.

3. Second Person: I haven't written second person in a while in regards to TF. I'm considering combining this with one of the above ideas, either second person preg TF(TG) or a pseudo sequel story written in second person.

4. MC: Again, this isn't mutually exclusive from the others but it doesn't fit in every story which is why I want to do one where it does and might even be the main focus. This is very vague, as this will probably be something that sneaks in anyhow.

So, any thoughts on these or other stories you'd like to see? Let me know if so!

Also, I'm still open for trades if anyone is interested and comms will remain closed for the time being (foreseeable future).

It's a new year and that can only mean new things...or the same old things made to look new. Either way, it's always a good time to try, try again so this year I'm going to try to post a TF story a month instead of a few in rapid succession before disappearing for a long while and that all starts this month! So! I'll be posting a story here soon along with a couple commissions. Is there anything you might want to see new (or old) written in this new year while it's new?

Also, I'm open for a couple trades if anyone is interested (nothing too, too long). If you are, let me know either here or via note.

It’s been a bit. I haven’t written much TF in the past months but I do have a few stories and commissions I should be posting soon. I’ve also regained most of my motivation to write so expect a couple of stories (relatively) soon. I’m trying to do different ideas and such so we’ll see how it goes. Are there any TF ideas/themes/concepts that you’ve rarely/never seen that could be different to do?

Question in the title: What are ya'll looking forward to next? I have a few stories to do as prizes for the contest winners, but is there anything you've really been missing or wanting to see recently in the realm of transformation fiction of the sort this site caters to?

I've been working on the framework for a compendium of TF writers, but I know I certainly don't read all TF fiction here or elsewhere, either because of taste or because I'm not aware of it. As of such, who are your favorite TF writers and why do you like what they write?

Update: No personal stories in the works, mostly just focusing on a collab. Thinking about doing another mirror peer or something scalie but dinosaur related. Anyways, on to the question. There seems to be some common species in transformation--foxes, dragons, wolves, etc--so what are some species you'd like to see more of, especially in stories? Personally it's insects for me, but I know those bug most people so I haven't really posted any of that yet.

Due to some discussion from the last journal, I've decided to extend the TF Story contest another two months. This means the deadline is now on March 31st, 2017! Due to the extension, if you've already submitted, no need to resubmit or anything, you're already in the running! Also, feel free to revise your story within the new timeline!

Rules:
Anyone can enter!
To enter, write a story that involves TF in some shape or form. It can be any setting, have whatever themes you may desire, involve any manner of species, just ensure you include some TF in there! The only limits are word count, time of creation, and number of entries. You’ve got 2500 (10% over this is allowed, but please try to avoid it!), so make every word count (the title doesn’t, though)! Oh, and the story has to have been written after this journal’s publishing. No preexisting stories! Lastly, only one entry per user!
Submit the story by March 31st, 2017 by putting it up on this site, SoFurry, or DeviantArt and then send me a note that you’ve written something for the contest and where I can find it. I’ll add your name to the tracker, and you’ll be set from there.
When March 31st, 2017 ends, so will the contest end. A few days after that, the winners will be announced! I’ll put up a journal and send the winners notes!


Prizes:
I will select my favorite story. The winner will receive a free 5000 (+ 50 words for every participant) word TF commission from me!
A mystery judge will select their favorite story. The winner will receive a free 2000( +25 words for every participant) word TF commission from me!

The TF story contest I'm hosting is still ongoing. However, with 15 days left and only three entries so far my hopes aren't that high for many more entries. I'm not sure whether it was timing or some other factor that's led to the low participation, but it is what it is. At the moment I'm considering whether to let it run its course, just end it now, or extend it for a month or two. I'm curious on any of your thoughts, if you have a comment please let me know.

In other news, I'm not feeling much like writing TF at the moment, I might feel more like it in a month or two.

First off, Happy New Year, let's all make this a good one!

Anyhow, I'm going to take a break from the TF writing scene for a bit. This is to focus on serious stuff and what trades/collabs remain and also because an increase in the tempo of other life activities. This means I won't be doing comms either, so if you contacted me about one a few weeks ago, I apologize and I'll get in touch with you about it soon. Don't worry, I'll still be posting as I have about 7 stories in the queue as it is.

Contest: The contest's content has been anemic so far, just two entries but I think that might have something more to do with the timeframe I set it up for. I'm considering extending the deadline to make up for winter holidays or revising the rules/rewards depending, but it might be a moot point anyhow. Here's a link for those still interested.
