Posted 9 years agoI have lost contact with a lot of people from here, so for those who haven't heard:
in 2 weeks I am getting officially married!
We have an apartment together and two cats (like lesbians do), and are very excited to start our future together. We've been in this apartment for almost 8 months now and its going well. The lady loves her new job working in cancer research. I couldn't be happier. We hit 3 years together in August. It has been an amazing journey so far and I can't wait till the next adventure we have together.

Life Update?
Posted 10 years agoSo I figured I would post a quick update to any that still check FA.
I am pretty inactive in the community; both this website and the fandom in general.
I started dating a wonderful woman who is not a furry, so my interest in FA has waned considerably, since she has no interest in going to events or the art of it. What I do do nowadays is go to Disney (a lot), go to school, work and try to have fun while driving between her house and my house to spend time with both our families. Even though she is two years younger than me, she already has her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology. I am deeply in love and we want to get married once we are not in-between houses.
I switched my major to cybersecurity, which has been fun.
If anyone needs to contact me off of FA, please note me for my email.

College is a Troll
Posted 12 years agoHi guys!
So I am going to keep this up for a while.
I just started college *confetti* so things have been ultra-crazy. I now understand why college students suddenly loose all their money and lives ='D.
So I do come on to check submissions and sometimes a journal, but I am not super actives as far as any mod duties I may have. I will try my best to get back to you as quickly as possible. Please continue to note me with any questions or concerns.
Until then, wave goodbye with me to all my money. We wish you a fond farewell, money =,,D

Why I haven't been around.
Posted 13 years agoAs some of you may know, my grandma passed away in November. My grandpa stayed with us until Feb. He had advanced dementia and was very difficult to live with. He passed away in March.
Now Zeek was very ill and almost died, receiving critical care from an animal hospital. Zeek 5 days after surgery, when we were able to take him home.
Basically, I've also been covering extra shifts at work and helping
Teahound move out.
Things are settling down, but because of all the added stress on my mom, I've been taking care of the house and such.
Just giving people an update in case they haven't read my journals.

My dog is very ill
Posted 13 years agoMy 7 year old beagle Zeek is very ill. Over the weekend he had to have surgery to get a foreign body from his stomach that was blocking the exit of his stomach. After 12 hours he was not recovering or eating, so they did another set of xrays and still saw something odd in his stomach, so they had to open him back up and do a second surgery. They searched every inch of intestine and stomach but found nothing foreign. Some of his tissue had died off from lack of blood flow from all the swelling. Now we took him to a specialist hospital in Largo, because the ER vet closes on weekdays. He has low blood pressure and bad clotting time. They are worried that the lack of blood flow to his intestine and pancreas area will cause some of the tissue to die. He might need a plasma transfusion. He might not survive if he needs new organs.
Already my family has exhausted our funds. We've spent $1700 plus $500-800 at the ER vet. Now another $2000 deposit for his stay at this other specialist. Might go up higher depending on his situation. We literally don't have enough money to pay our mortgage on time, so that's another stress my family has.
All I want is for my baby boy to get better. He is a rock that has held me together through my grandparent's deaths. We are having my grandpa's memorial service on sunday.
Here is a picture of him from a few weeks ago.
EDIT: He's doing much better now. He's at home now after spending the week in the hospital. He's got a cocktail of medications and we're keeping an eye on him.

Life...
Posted 13 years agoWell, My grandpa passed away on Thursday, March 29th. He follows my grandma who passed away in November. Things have been kind of crazy between that and
teahound moving out with
and this week I need to help mom with funeral service preparations. I'm still in mourning over my grandma...I haven't even really registered his death...everything is so blah and just...trying to help mom get through this. I'm pretty AFK.

Posted 14 years agoHey guys...So I got a ps3 on black friday, so I have Ratchet and Clank All 4 One and COD: Black Ops as far as multiplayer goes right now. I don't have a microphone for it yet, but I have a skype if talking is a must for you. If anyone wants to play, my PSN name is 'Skiota'. Just make sure you tell me your username on the friend invite so I can keep track of who you are. XD
In other news...dealing with a 90 year old man who has the mind of a two year old is extremely frustrating. He forgets stuff minute to minute now. Here is an example of this morning:
Mom: Come on dad it's time to shower.
Grandpa: Shower? What for?
Mom: Because you need to take a shower.
Grandpa: No I don't. I'm already dressed (he has an undershirt and pants on because he got cold).
Mom: *loosing patience* Dad, just get in the shower ok?
Grandpa: But what about my house slippers?
Mom: *sigh* Dad, you don't need those just get in the shower.
Grandpa: Shower? What for? I don't need to shower.
Mom: *yelling* Just get in the shower ok??
Grandpa: Okay. *heads down hall* Where are we going?
Mom: TO THE SHOWER.
Pretty much... he does this every morning. And he forgets how to shower and turn the water on or which clothes are his even though mom sets them out for him. We love him, but dealing with him on top of loosing grandma, paying their house bills and stuff etc is really trying. Sorry just....venting. Anyways...off to do stuff today..

Grandma Update
Posted 14 years agoYeah my grandma passed away. In the end her heart gave out on her. brb guys..
Why do I always post sad journals
Posted 14 years agoI'm not going to go into the nitty gritty detail, but my grandma has a brain hemorrhage and is in really bad condition. She is also now in kidney failure. We left the hospital because there's nothing more we can do there. She is the one who takes care of my grandfather who has dementia. Since she's always so on top of things we are still trying to figure out which medication he gets. Blah blah.
I will not be on FA for a while. The doctors do not have much hope right now. So brb. I'll try to keep this journal updated but no promises.
EDIT 11/19: They got my grandma's kidney failure under control, she had fluid in the lungs impairing her oxygen as well, so they have fixed that. Her blood pressure is back up now. However I don't have any news on her brain condition and this morning the nurse said she was 'unresponsive' but alive. My uncle is flying down from chicago. The family is just waiting to see what they can do for her.

L4D2
Posted 14 years agoI have an XBOX Live account (beagleskiota) that I might let expire in October.
I recently got L4D2 and was wondering if anyone else liked to play this game? I like doing online co-op campaigns.
I really am playing to keep my mind off of my dog right now.

Posted 14 years agoMy dog sammy had to get put down this morning...he had prostate cancer, kidney failure, rotten teeth, dementia, cataracts, deafness. He was 16 years old. He was getting really sick so it was time before he started to suffer really bad. Anyways...he was my first pet so...I'm just not gonna be online ok?
I deal with the stuff in private and this is a lot harder than my cat. Sammy was my boy and devoted to my mom.. I just.. I'm blah. I expect him to be pacing around...I wish I could run up to him and hug him.

.....FUCK
Posted 14 years agoYeah well, some of you may have heard by now that a few months ago Zeek was tearing around the house/backyard like usual and hurt his leg somehow. We assumed that he pulled a muscle or over extended. A month later he was still limping, but mom was having medical issues so we didn't get him into the vet until this morning.
Basically he did something apparently common with dogs, he tore his (Cranial) Cruciate Ligament.
http://blog.embracepetinsurance.com.....appens-wh.html
http://embracepetinsurance.typepad......nt_diagram.gif
He basically has to get it removed or he will become severely arthritic and loose all function in his rear left leg. What they do is insert a rubbery fake one to act like the ligament would (see link above, under 'treatment' for more info). If we don't get this surgery done, he would end up essentially using his leg for a cane, and for a dog who loves to run around I'd hate to see him like that
This surgery is around $1500 and considering that mom puts off her own health problems above the $300 line, yeah we're in a bit of a bind. Of course I'm gonna help out but I don't make but $120 usually and I haven't finished this test I'm writing yet.
I dunno what to do; I'm wary of asking for help or donations. I don't draw and I don't want to make TeaHound draw for people who donate and I don't want to impose on his friends either. =< I really don't know if we can afford this surgery.
On top of that I have like $2.34 in my bank account right now; because I misjudged how much I used at the strawberry festival vs how much was being transferred out/in for paypal stuff. GAH That's the first time I've ever gotten a decline on my card, so I was kinda freaked out A LOT. Plus I'm going to Orlando on Saturday and to a picnic I'm cooking for on Thursday. fffuuuuccck XD I get paid about 100 tomorrow so hopefully that will cover it.
Just asking around for advice, I don't really have the watch base to start a fundraiser or advertise or anything. I have a few crappy things I could sell but that is only enough for like...$30 XD

SECOND!!!!!
This month is hella busy. I have a lot of stuff planned for March and April so I'm not online much at all. My mom's birthday is in April, so I've got a big thing planned for her. If you watch me because of
Floridafurs or
Tampafurs and have noted me EVEN IF I HAVE READ IT, please re forward that note to me here. FA logs me in here and I check it real fast and hop off so I don't always get around to my comms (like I should D: bad mod) because I do a lot of work at home, I have to stay focused and off the internet.

Posted 15 years agoFor what I want anyways.
I want a system that runs Windows 7 or Vista.
-10-13inch screen
-2GB of RAM
-Built in hard drive
-6cell or higher battery
-don't care if the processor is Intel or AMD
-Microsoft Office compatible with 2003 versions (this is for work)
-Not at HP or Dell, preferably a Toshiba, maybe an Asus, Acer, Sony depending on reviews.
And I want it all for $200 or less =| yeah I know it's like a slim to none chance.
If anyone happens to see one like it or has one for sale then note me with a link or description (for sales). I usually look for laptops around Black Friday, or the holiday season, so to me the prices are "high". I might have to wait until next holiday season D:

We had a great time at the TampaFurs meet up =3 got to meet a few new people. It didn't rain so yay!
I'm just about done with my ANBU cosplay. Next year I'll be doing A:TLA probably a student featured in Book 3: The Headband.
I'm kinda unsure about this one girl I know who asked for a room slot, but she isn't responding to my messages. She doesn't have a job, but she said she'd pay last week. Probably going to have a back up person just in case.
Sam is settling in and starts her job next week so yay!
I've been really busy working and running errands. I'm still saving for my car. I can *almost* afford one in cash =>
Also I'm still selling some old video games, take a look!
Click here =>
For Tampa Furs: There might not be a meet in July, I don't have any free weekends or extra cash for it. Darn you 4th of July D=

death in the family
Posted 15 years agoFor those of you who read my last journal, we had to put my cat to sleep. He went blind and we think there was something else wrong. He stopped eating, and he kept falling over and peeing all over the place (including me) today. He couldn't even walk straight.
He has not been well the past couple days. He just took a downward slide in health since last sunday.
So I'm not really...active online right now. Everyone in my family is taking it pretty hard.
I'll miss you Butch..
