Holy Crap A Journal...REALLY?! It's been 2 Years!
Posted 7 years agoI've been going through my OLD OLD journals lately and I must say. It is like a TIME CAPSULE doing this! The way I'd be talking back then...I've grown quite a bit since then.
BRIEF LIFE UPDATE for those who'd like to know X3
I have since resigned from my teaching position at the High School where I was. I was wronged by the school...I resigned before I was let go so it did not affect my teaching certificate. I knew something was coming...so I resigned before they could do anything drastic. My hunch was correct in the end and to this day...I STILL DO NOT KNOW why they were wanting me to not be there. I got along with the students extremely well as well as the parents. Today, I have former students contacting me for advice and just wanting to say hello. The same goes with the parents. I do know for a fact that I was the very FIRST assistant director that the school ever had...and it was my first years teaching. One would think the head director would help mentor me to help me grow...and he did...but the way he was, was a perfectionist...if it wasn't perfect you'd know. He is a great person to know...but very difficult to work with, especially since I am brand new and fresh out of college with hardly any full time experience!
Currently, I have made many many new friends here in DFW and built up a good reputation with them. I feel welcomed by them and close to a lot of them! I'm currently a substitute teacher for a district around my house.
However at the same time I'm teaching as a sub (which is one of the easiest jobs on the planet for me haha), I'm working towards attaining my Masters Degree in Conducting (Music Education). After that is over, I will go back out and look for another school that will hire me full time as their band director. I've hit a speed bump but i've taken a detour to make my trip towards success easier for me in the future!

It finally happened! Frigging...finally!
Posted 9 years agoWell it looks like I have found my first full time teaching position! It just happened yesterday~!! I've been hired in the Dallas area as a Band Director! I will be moving to that area very soon...maybe around July 1st! I'm so incredibly excited!!!
To all my Houston friends! I will miss you guys, but you know that I will be in touch and will visit! :3 Anyone who really knows me knows i'll make an effort to do so if I can! I'm going to be extremely busy with this school, but it's all going to be worth it and exciting!

Leaving later on Sunday! Spring break for schools the following week sooooooo...no rush for me!

All around! I like to walk around and absorb the environment. I study my surroundings of people so if i wanted to just jump into a group of new people i'd be able to adapt quickly without being awkward!

New Job! (Degree is finally paying off)
Posted 10 years agoWell it's the beginning of the new school semester...well it's going to be February soon so it's not really the beginning beginning! Anyway! Right to the point of the journal. I finally have become employed with the school district here in Baytown and Clear Lake areas! I'm a substitute teacher for both districts and have actually taken a liking to the Middle School age students! They are waaay more fun to teach than high school! It's like watching the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things" for 8 hours a day 5 days a week! Another reason i like this age group is because i can poke a little fun at them when they get all silly and they just love it because i play along with their antics. As long as it's not too disruptive to the class! I absolutely LOVE when that "one kid" tries to get under my skin...I don't rattle easily or hardly at all with students because...well what's the point in getting upset? They are just kids! They aren't purposely being rude, they're just testing the waters!
I also scored 5 kids for private lessons on the French Horn so i'm super excited about that! I also might have a full time career come August with a middle school here! Posted 11 years agoToday was my graduation from SFASU and it...has been a long day lol! Now comes the job hunting portion of my life. I've already had an interview with Westbrook Intermediate for the Asst. Band Director position. It'd be great to get a position with my first try, but you never know! Maybe i'll get lucky! Optimistically, I'll find something soon. I'll probably be more successful in the Fall of next year rather than the Spring since most teachers don't retire at mid year!
Thanks to everyone who supported me. I don't say much on FA to begin with because, I usually save it for the big stuff like this. Most of the time I just write jounals...99% of the time i should say lol. Well when I post more fursuiting pics it'll be extra special...I guess~!

Living Experiment a ROUSING Success~!
Posted 11 years agoWell dracodark just left my apartment after 2 months + some days living together. I wanted him to be here while I was in summer school to see how we would get along living physically in the same place. We survived it very happily! Had some ups and downs but we had more ups than downs lol! No downs took more than a few moments to talk out and bandage up!
He left the apartment about 30 minutes ago now, and he'll be happy to know that my emotions are standing strong...to anyone who has a best friend or a mate they've been with for a looooooooong period of time, one that you love so much leave after a while...it makes your heart a little heavy.
Alas...I will be home next week to start student teaching...I couldn't be happier or more excited to be starting my career...these next 3 days will be tough for me without Tarion here to make sure I'm not screwing up this apartment!! I joke of course <33333 The place will not be burned down!
We had many people visit us while we were here together and those moments were awesome.
Anyway, I'm going to relax now as much as I can. I have a busy day on Thursday so I'll be rested up for that!
The hardest part about this...going to bed alone for the first time in 2 months...I dont mean to sound depressive...but that honestly doesn't bother me all that much XP, but I know it'll be a little bit tough on me :3

I really should update journals more often...XP!!
Posted 11 years agoYeah, I just really don't know what to put most of the time! I'd rather have a subject than just ramble on about nothing...HOWEVER, maybe that's not such a bad thing!
I'm gearing up towards the end of my college career. Next week is my LAST WEEK and then I can graduate in December following my student teaching in the Fall. I am very very excited about this because I cannot believe I am finally done with school. I'm really really looking forward to student teaching because....I JUST AM!
As far as being involved in the fandom goes...from this point out i have to be really careful about it. Since i am going into the teaching field, it can be really dangerous ground being a furry and a teacher...the fandom still means a lot to me for what it's done for me over the years, so it will always be a part of my life. I am just having to put it on the back burner for now. Priorities ya know! This doesn't mean i'm leaving or going anywhere XP. I still will be attending meets and Furry Fiesta at least, any other cons...I will have to see about after my teaching career starts.
I'm still obsessed with Big Brother and The Amazing Race...and i STILL am wanting to continue auditioning for both of them. Big Brother 16 is going on right now and...some of the house guests are just screwing up their games so badly! Though being stuck in a house for 90 days with 16 people at the start, can be very tiring on the mind because you can't escape at all! Me and a friend of mine did audition for The Amazing Race next year...still dont know anything but here's hoping...and even if it doesn't pan out...all I can say is, this is the closest to being casted i've been yet lol.
It's gonna be a fun weekend for me and my mate! Heading to the furmeet this Sunday for HIS BIRTHDAY! YAAAAAAY :3. I'll be taking him someplace nice and see this movie he wants to see! I'm pretty excited about that! The relationship has had it's ups and downs like any normal relationship, but things are going good! Tarion's been living with me while i've been in summer school to kinda test the waters on how we'd get along together. We aren't driving each other insane...well he hasn't been driving me insane, but i have been driving him insane....at times X3~! THAT'S MY JOB THOUGH!

SURPRISE! Had Surgery today!

I didn't tell a lot of people about this because it wasn't a big enough deal to cause alarm...well here it is!
Turns out i had skin cancer on my face...now it wasn't that big and we caught it early so it didn't cause any severe alarm...but once you hear the word...CANCER...it sounds really really really BAD!
The Surgery went well, no pain, and the WHOLE RIGHT SIDE of my face is completely numb, and i can't feel a dang thing. I was awake the whole time and the sound of skin coming off and a scalpel against your face is like...taking a knife and scraping it against wood...that's what it sounded like! The only pain i had was when i was stuck with the numbing medicine all over my cheek and under my ear!
Life is good, i dont do a lot with my FA page except make journals at this moment to keep people updated on what goes on with me...well for those who'd want to know. I'm super busy with college and i dont get to get out in my fursuit much, or there would be a lot more pictures of it up!
Thanks to those who've stuck with watching me over the years, you guys are super supportive and great.
I'm just thankful that we caught this cancer early and got rid of it! I now have a foxy looking battle scar haha...or i will XP!

It's just back to school for me, wen to london with my marching band and we led the new years day parade and such! It was an awesome time and lots of fun. I've been going to a few furmeets here and there and i SO CANT WAIT FOR FURRY FIESTA!!! It's so AWESOME...and i'm SO EXCITED!! We have a room with me, my mate and possibly ONE other person right now...so we have 2/4 people SOLIDIFIED in our room, anyone looking for a room, please ask me AND MY MATE dracodark. Be aware that, there will be NO PARTIES in the room...absolutely no XP if you want to do any HEAVY drinking or getting blasted, it wont be happening in this room...sorry for being a party pooper XP. I myself might partake in some drinking this year :3 it was fun last year.

I just wanted to get the looooooong journal off my page X3. Nothing much is going on, just school and everything. Football games with the marching band and hanging out with my friends.
OH there is some good news...my mate dracodark is coming to my university next year...HOPEFULLY THE SPRING...if he REMEMBERS TO APPLY before it's too late...if not the spring then it will be the fall...so...me and him will be roommates soon XP...oh dear X3...i made sure he was coming for him and the art department and now because i'm here...since that was squared away, i feel good about him coming here :3
There has been some drama, but not revolving around the fandom actually. SHOCKING!! It's been this girl i've known for a year...when we first met she fell in love with me...literally...and NO it's not the same girl i tried to date last year...which WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA...*smacks mahself*...but this girl, would follow me around everywhere and then i'd have people come up to me saying "becareful" and "she's trying to turn you straight" which she DID admit to me later...she can be the type who likes to play the victim to keep herself out of trouble...saying the childish things like "IT'S NOT MY FAULT I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING BLAMED FOR NOTHING"...when she tells people she loves me...and has these wierd dreams about me about bringing her flowers and stuff to which i said "THAT will never happen..." I'm one of her only friends...and she's crossed a couple lines with me...i'm giving her ONE more chance...and if she doesn't shape up...i wont omit her from my life...but i wont hang around her anymore or want to hang out anymore.
There is A LOT more to the story...but it'd break this site if i typed it all out XP
Anyway! Life is good...times are good...now i'm able to relax without worrying about her sitting outside my door in the mornings without warning...which she has done on several occasions, like 2 times a week at least.
ANYWAY i dont wanna ramble anymore!!

Auditioning for Big Brother 15 tomorrow! (Long Journal)
Posted 13 years agoAlright...there are two shows i've dreamed of being on and hopefully winning, The Amazing Race and Big Brother! For those of you who know me really well...i LOOOOOOOOOVE reality Tv, game shows, etc.
Last year i did apply to Big Brother 14 and was interviewed during the late spring...however i didn't tell ANY of the furs i knew because i was worried that so many people would start hating on me just because i wanted to do this. The only people that knew were my family and best friend Dana...this year...i really dont give a flying morlenda...why? Those who actually know me to a core...which is a few, know that i wouldn't play a game because of the fandom...fuck that shit lol. I've dreamed of being able to compete on a show like this for prize money and stuff...i want that adventure, that experience!
Now here's the thing, the media frenzy on the fandom has been both good and bad...here's how it's been bad...two things #1 News casters and crews and producers and editors who have asked personal questions about the fandom, then edited in another answer from which had no relation to the question asked...making us look like whores...all of us...#2. Furries posting on youtube and stuff trying to defend the fandom, making themselves look like idiots for not keeping their mouths shut on certain subjects. If i'm in the wrong please correct me...seriously X3
However, i've come to learn in my OWN EXPERIEINCE with non furs dealing with the fandom, people are more accepting of it now...at least towards me...i've never had a problem.
I know what you're thinking, "well Skiver why the hell would you consider doing something like this despite what you've said above?" My answer, because in the 14 seasons of Big Brother I've watched, i've seen some pretty CRAZY people with bizarre interests...and no matter how weird it has been, the crew doing the taping has NEVER made anyone look bad...If something means something to someone, they wont edit it to make it look like shit...that's why i'm not afraid
Secondly, it's me wanting to fulfill a dream of mine...because after last year...i THINK i have a pretty good shot at getting in. The producers want someone with an extroverted personality, that is outside of the box, and not afraid of speaking their mind or anything.
Final thoughts, if i make it...
1. Am i playing for furries everywhere?
-- No i'm not, i'm playing for myself and my university.
2. Am i going to defend the fandom?
-- It's impossible to defend the fandom...the subject on the fandom WILL COME UP in the house at some point somehow however, but i wont be the one to cause it.
3. Am i going to openly talk about the fandom in the House?
-- Nope...not unless i'm asked a question about it...people will know i'm a furry, but i'm not going to wear my fursuit around the house...UNLESS the producers ask me to, in that case sure i will...but i'm not going to make an ass out of myself in it. Those who know me, know i won't...i've got this all planned out ahead of time. Possible questions, how to answer them, everything.........in fact they only give you one big duffle bag to pack...my suit wouldn't even fit in it anyway LOL!
Basically, i just want people support...i know i'll get it from some, but not from others...but you know what? Why should i worry about that? I want to live a dream of mine to compete on a show like this...i got close last year...who knows, maybe i'll make it *fingers crossed*!!! I dont want people to hate me just because i want to be on Big Brother and play the game

Posted 13 years agoSomething i learned today that i thought was awesome and cool when you think about it! As those who are closest to me know, i LOVE ASTRONOMY...so any little thing that happens out there, fascinates me. Well back in 1972 or 77...OR SOMETIME IN THE early to mid 70s...NASA launched Voyager 1, and the satellite's mission was supposed to take pictures of Jupiter and Saturn and relay the information back to us...well in the early to mid 80s, it completed it's mission and then just drifted off...there was no return trip for it, so off it goes. Today (6/23/2012)...or Saturday for those of you reading this a little later on NASA got word from the satellite that it had discovered the "new region"...which means, Voyager 1 has left the Solar System and is now off into interstellar space. Right now it's about...i think the newspaper said 38 Billion Miles from the sun...it's LOOOOOONG past the planets and it's about to drift off into the interstellar, where no man made craft has ever gone before...i think...that is ABSOLUTELY NERDILY AWESOME~! It's still transmitting new information but...it's TAKING FOOOOOOOOOOOOOREVER for it to get to us from where it is. Most likely the information we have is at least a year old, because of the time it takes for it to transmit back to us. I'm SUPER SHOCKED that it has traveled for 30+ years out there without getting WHACKED by something and getting destroyed...who knows...it might discover something before it goes too far away and the signal dies...forever.
I think it's sooooo cool...it's hard to put into words sometimes...we're still receiving signals from a satellite we launched over 30 years ago...and it's past the planets fully and exited the system...it's about 10 billion miles PAST PLUTO...that's damn far!

Alaska Bound!!
Posted 13 years agoWell for those who care hehe, this fox has begun his travels into the state of Alaska. Surprisingly it's warm here, cooler than Texas but seems WARM for Alaska :3! Since I'm on my phone, I dont want to use this phone keyboard to type too much out Haha...lazy fox is lazy.
For those who talk to me on Skype quite often, I wont be on much because I'm going to be super busy with my family doing tours and such! I'm also going halibut fishing in a couple days, so I'm excited about that!

imaginaryskye introduced the genre of K-Pop music to me...i only know of one band so far and that's SHINee...i LOVE their music. Now Skye did a dance once to their song "Lucifer" and when i watched him do it, it looked like a lot of fun...it was a style of dance i liked and i decided to try and accomplish learning the song Lucifer a while back......aaaaaaaand it was INCREDIBLY hard to do and i never finished it. Now as of yesterday i decided to pick it back up because i discovered more of their music...and i found it on iTunes which was interesting. Reason being is that they're a Korean Pop band and i didn't think we'd find their music for sale here...well...iTunes apparently has it and i flipped out and bought all their albums!
The new song i'm trying to learn now is "Ring Ding Dong" which is still difficult but not as difficult as Lucifer...the spinning stuff in Ring Ding Dong is what i'm having trouble with right now. HOWEVER after watching the group dance and some of them dance individually...i found out that the kind of motions they do with their hands and feet, are really easy to improvise if you know the song...so i'm finding myself learning the real dance...and every now and then changing it up...it's a lot of fun~!

Anywho, I'm addicted to this style of dancing now...and doing this is good exercise and a good way to smooth the way i move out! YAY~!

An Interesting Chat with my Mom :3 (lots of text BEWARE >:3)
Posted 13 years agoOkay sooooooooo my mom walks in and goes through some of my old pants and is like "TRY THESE ON TO SEE IF THEY FIT!!" Normal mom stuff...so i do that and we're just talking and all of a sudden out of no where she asks me, "Did you go to Furry Fiesta 2012?"................I just stare at her and stare in silence...I DID NOT tell her ANYTHING about that convention...nothing. I respond with, "Why...yes i did...but mom...how on earth did you know about that con?" and she smiles and says "Well...i found a shirt in your laundry basket" and i went "OOOOOOOOOOOH okay...okay i gotcha"
Now she RARELY talks about the furry thing, she's almost NEVER gone any further than that question...but after that i thought she was going to change subjects...then she asks "well, did you have fun? What did you do there?" and a thousand other questions...USUALLY it's annoying when she asks me a ton of questions at once...but this time it...was rather awesome, because it was about my interest in the fandom.
I told her about the Raves, and Artist Den, the Dance Contest, Fursuit Parade, Furry Night Live and other things...I had told her that me and sebastian (who she does know IRL) and a friend of his (who is silverwolf) competed and won first place and a cash prize for it, she seemed surprised that they gave out cash prizes.
Overall...for the first time ever practically, she took an interest in this part of my lifestyle...and in the end she said "i really didn't know all that went on at a convention, it sounds really fun...like a big party...and i know you were responsible Brent" typical mom protective comment X3...I believe she realized by herself that the fandom is focused around hanging around friends you love and fine arts of Drawing, Music, Comedy, etc.
What a nice way to start the afternoon! :3

Posted 13 years agoWell all i can say is...that was the best weekend i've had in a loooooooooooong time lol. It was nice to get the opportunity to get back in touch with the fandom after how busy i've been here at SFASU...i met lots of new people, and i can say that was a great first timer for being a fursuiter at a con lol.
As for what happened, lots of things...i danced my tail off at a furry rave and hung out with a bunch of new people, my roommates were awesome and stuffs :3...i mostly just left my phone in my room and never ever turned this computer on. I didn't have enough time and plus everyone i'd usually talk to...was there anyway!
Probably the most fun highlight of the entire con for me was performing the Micheal Jackson's "Beat It" Skit with sebastian_coco_foxy and 
silverwolf16 There were 31 skits i believe and out of those...Sebastian, SilverWolf, and myself won first place....i was actually quite surprised...best out of 31? REALLY?....no...hehehe apparently they only judged 4 of them, when they announced we won, Sebastian and i just looked at each other like "...really?" but the truth of teh matter is...it could have been anyone's game...i really dont know what gave us that winning edge, but i'm proud of us and everyone else who participated in that show...i wish i could have seen it from the outside...well i guess that's what youtube is for XP YAY~!
I must say though...watching

Posted 13 years agoI'm not going to write a whole HUGE ARSE page...but all imma say is this is the first furcon i've been to in a loooooooooooooooooooong time SO I'M SUPER EXCITED!! It's also the first con i've been to WITH A FUUUUUUUUUURSUIIIIIIT and i'm just like going stark raving mad with excitement. I've got all my homework done in advaaaaaaaaance oooooh i'm so excited X3.

My mate and I decided to separate...why?
Because i wanted to get to know people on my campus...i had people approaching me, wanting to get to know me, and before i came to SFASU i wanted to get to know someone locally in the same university as me...i stayed with Brandon because well i really did love him...but my heart couldn't ultimately handle the distance...if that makes since.
Now here's the huge twist...i'm NOT DATING ANYONE right now...but there is someone that i'm getting to know...well okay wait...Dating and mated are two different things...SO YES I'M DATING someone so hopefullly they become my mate...but the thing is...
....It's a woman....*plays dramatic music*...yes...i can't believe this...but i legit like a girl...i've only dated men up until this point...but i really do like her...like i dont feel confused or anything...it's easy to be around her...talk to her and stuff, and i dont feel awkward like i usually do...so there ya go...

So far mine is...but he's one of those quiet tempered people...which means when he's silent, keep your distance and let him sort himself out...or let him come to you. I've NOT seen him like that yet and i hope to not see him like that.

Just had a wonderful weekend at home with my friends and mate, i'm not going to go on and on and on about my mate like i have in the past because...well, to me seeing it constantly could get really annoying to a certain extent, if you know what i mean, and sometimes i feel like i put it out there too much...so if there's anyone out there who feels i may throw it in their face...i really DONT mean to make it feel that way, because if i really love something/someone a lot i express it...so if i do, i'm sorry...and again, i just like to express it X3 <33333333333
Anyway that's out of the way! College is going great, our marching band got invited to play in the 2012-2013 New Years Day Parade in London, England next year...so...i'm coming back to the UK next year to do that! HURRAY~!
I haven't been able to do much Fursuiting as of late because i've been busy with classes...
I WANT to suit around my campus...because i'm already called "foxie" in the marching band...and they all...well mostly all know about my fursuit and they love the concept and find it fascinating so that's AWESOOOOOOOME X3~! My Roommate ROCKS~! Anime Geek and Furry Lover...but he's not a furry himself...he says he doesn't mix with the lifestyle so well, he finds it cool but it's just not TOTALLY his thing.

A lot has happened since the last journal...i'm officially a student at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX yay! I'm a part of their school of music and marching band! It's epic! 24 French Horns in our section! I love the marching practices in the afternoons. Yes it's frigging HOT here (between 95-110 on average), but those who can stand the heat, enjoy it. My mindset is, have fun with what you are doing, and do not give up, no matter how hot you are...never give up unless your body is literally about to cave in on you. We've had a few people quit the first day because the heat was too much, big deal...grow up. HOWEVER...there are some people with bodily restrictions, as in over weight and some other things, but i can tell who's flat out giving up, and who's actually sick from the heat.
I'm also part of their concert band, I auditioned and made Co-Principal (sharing 1st chair) with another horn player in the Wind Symphony, so I'm proud of that! Wind Ensemble is the top band and i was one away from that, NEXT TIME I'LL GET IT!
As for my furry life, I've yet to meet any furs in nacogdoches. They do have an anime club here, and according to my roommate there could be a few furs in it. My roommate is heavy into anime BUT not a furry, but he knows the fandom already, so luck is in my favor once again!
That's pretty much it!
I do miss all my friends back home though X3...i'll see them soon X3
