YCH commissions?
Posted 9 years agoJust a query in general, would people be interested in some YCH commissions? my TF stuff seems pretty popular, so was thinking some TF type poses.
given my limited free time this would work better for me as traditional commissions are a lot more time consuming.

artistic musings
Posted 13 years agoFirstly, a thank you to all who have fav'd and watched recently, i am bad at individual thanks, but i do appreciate it.
:3
feeling like i have a long way to with my art before its where i would like it to be, so to have positive feedback on the way is much appreciated.
Might try mixing it up a bit in terms of colour palette/style a bit more.
anything people would like to see me do more of in general?
also i tend to only post finished works, but if i did more sketchy stuff would people want to see my half finished visual musings?

being an 'artist' - producing art
Posted 13 years agoSo i was thinking, does anyone have a right to tell anyone else that he/she is bad at art?
Take FA for instance, it covers the full gammit of people making art, full on professionals who make art their jobs (whose work i drool over), to those just starting out, who may not be so great just yet.
Does a site like FA have a right or an obligation to say to someone, thanks for trying, but your art is not good enough, go away kthnx.
Im kinda in two minds because i can see both sides. There is a lot about my art im not happy with, but i still enjoy the feedback i get for it. I think it would be upsetting if somebody said something cruel about something id worked hard on.
BUT, somebody can spend 4 hours on a drawing and it still be bollocks, it happens, ive left drawings behind before never to be seen because i realised it wasn't working out (its a skill in itself to walk away sometimes).
And most people who come to a site like this probably would rather see established artists i guess, than those just learning the ropes, so where is the line drawn?
Dunno, these are my late night musings.

Commission prices
Posted 13 years agoOk so, im a lazy sod and never really have got around to getting pricing straight for commissions as i dont generally take many.
(mostly draw for recreational purposes, i have a day job.)
BUT, if you would like some Art le Skuell, prices are as follows:
$15-$20 for a sketch depending on level of finish
$30 flat colour piece, one char, minimal background
$40 for a coloured digital piece, single character, basic background (mostly what you see on my gallery)
$45-50 for full detailed background plus one char
+$10 per additional char
Honestly there isnt much i wouldnt draw, i guess excessive violence/blood/gore would bother me, otherwise, just ask!
At this point, note me if interested!

Being one of them furries, and one of them artists.
Posted 13 years agoI think i am bad at being both.
there seems to be a lot of obligation when you're a furry artist to reply to fans, thank everyone, take requests, commissions, to get your name out there, which i am bad at.
to everyone who has watched me, faved a pic or commented, THANKYOU, you guys are awesome, i am lazy.
in terms of my own work, I don't generally commissions, which is both liberating and slightly bewildering due to lack of direction sometimes. i always think if i do someone fan art ill come across as crazy stalker guy. XP
there should be a checklist that's all like, draw this and you will be awesome, the end. :3
though to other artists on FA, you guys rock. i am constantly surprised by the sheer volume of amazing new furry artists i am coming across.
dunno, these are my random musings for the night.

ok so... lineart query.
Posted 15 years agoDo people prefer sketchy or neat lines in their drawings? I find i like the look of sketchy pics, but it makes me feel like I'm being lazy when i leave a picture as such.
As the viewer/fellow artist, does it bother you? do you guys prefer neat lines and perfectly neat colouring?
Also, FA, your species list does not have OKAPI in it. And... marsupials are mammals, they are not their own distinct order.

drawing block, maybe.
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm not sure what the correct definition of drawing block is, but i may have it.
I want to draw, but i am at a loss as to what to actually draw. And every time i think of an idea, i get lost in possibilities and do nothing.
I want to draw something good for once, not just a sketch thats not really anything.
*le shrug*
favorite colour combinations?
Posted 16 years agoso i dont do journals very often, but i was wondering, what are peoples favorite colour combinations?
complementary opposites always sit happily together, blue/orange, red/green, yellow/purple.
but what odd combinations do you like to see or use yourself? (for clothes, art, food, anything really) Or for that matter what complimentary opposite pair are you?
personally i always seem to end up using orange/brown and blue combos in drawings.
(and yes its colour and not color, im not american!)
