I'm making a card game
Posted 3 months agoSo for many months I've been making a card game, mechanics, gameplay and art. It's in a good point where I have the identity of the game and the feel I want.
I'm at a phase where I'm making placeholder art so the game can be playtested. Expect more black/white art. Besides me wanting to make a card game, I also like to finish things once started. Art is my passion, I draw all the time and it's easy to get frustrated with not finding ideas to draw. That's where small or big projects come to help, by having a goal and a theme I focus much easier on a problem to solve than having the "freedom" to draw anything. Drawing batches of same themed art also helps, I'm not only drawing a zombie, I draw a zombie knight that has abilities etc. It's a fun way to keep engaged. Another big plus is the art has to be on the same level, so I can't just try to improve, it has to be consistent. It's one of the biggest traps to try to get better in art. It's a recipe for artblock. So doing consistent art and a goal oriented theme to draw, I get to practice to finish my work. It's a great asset to have, much more important than drawing godlike art. Because getting in the habit of finishing art will earn you trust in your skills but trying to touch the sky will only leave a bad taste if you can't reach it.
heh, I'm so excited forgot to talk about the game XD
I guess the uploads will tell that story

My take on Ai images
Posted 5 months agoI will not accept Ai as art and will not have those words mixed together.
If something is too good to be true it probably is.
And Ai images is that good because it is trained on so much "borrowed"art
If Ai images would be done by Licenced art it would be expensive and probably not that great
The fact that art sites like Deviantart, Instagram and other sites use and tolerate(artstation *puke*) the art uploaded on their sites to be used for Ai image generation *puke* is just another step of artist misstrusting art sites and harder for people to find artists, hell google results show Ai images as if that's what we looking for.
As an artist I don't like Ai but I don't feel threatened by it since people don't buy art only for the art but also to support an artist to see them grow, that's a connection, a feeling being part of something.
So many artists struggle to make money from art without Ai. Hell, most famous artists in their living times didn't make a dime.. If someone prefers Ai images over art from artists those persons wouldn't have bought art anyways, so no big loss. Art doesn't need to be accessible/affordable. Maybe Ai images are more accessible but if everyone can have it, why brag about it, how will it feel special?
Worth is how hard something is to be acquired. That reminds me, artists undersell themself all the time.
Remember life is a marathon not a race.

The journey starts here
Posted 9 months agohello fellow Dark artist and Dark art enjoyers! A new chapter of my life has started, I have now my own add (small one) on this site! (maybe you will spot it!)
What does that mean for me and you? I can focus more on art rather searching and advertising myself for commissions. If you like to get a commission just sent a note!

Halloween on the door
Posted 11 months agoI introduce you to Apophenia: Horror Hunt
Its a card game that plays a a tabletop, you just take the cards with you and its ready to play.
Ofcourse thats not the only selling point. Its the horrors that lay behind the deep Mansion that you will explore alone or with your friends revealing Clues that bring you closer to the truth of what you HUNT!
I had the pleasure to arleady play it as a tester for CyberGoat studios and the game is hardcore, spookie and interactive.
here some more infos about it https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame.....ia-horror-hunt
as also their Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....ia-horror-hunt
I can't praise it enough!

A new path
Posted 11 months agoI got my schedule under control for now, being creative and uploading constantly. I Found out I had my mature filters on and was blessed in ignorance. Yet that way I missed so many awesome art of artist out here. More art I guess with a price to pay. I didn't expect to see that much pornographic material. I feel again that my art doesn't belong here because of that but it's the best place I have found. Nightmare artists still exist on this platform and so this little skeleton has a home.
Anyway I wasn't about to complain about porn, jezzz. No what I suffer from lately, (beyond my excitement to be under artist and draw each day what I love) is the urge to check everything. Again and again. to see reactions to see content. Why is that bad? Because it makes me dependent on external rewards. I love interaction, don't get me wrong but it shouldn't be the main focus. The main focus should be my art. Internal rewards like having fun at drawing, seeing my gallery growing with each art piece. So to do so, I will try to be less online, like checking every 6 hours or maybe 10 hours offline. I don't know, but I wanted to say I may not answer immediately if someone wants something. I think this method will train my brain to relax a bit.

SkullKaizer New Journal
Posted a year agoHello!
Been a long time since I wrote a Journal. Well let's do that.
Lately I'm coming back to draw digital paintings and engage on the platform. I missed drawing detailed art and had settled on only drawing my webcomic LBUB, which I use to focus on my story telling skills and is about cute repair robots in a world with no humans. I chose to draw it like a draft with not much rendering and sketchy art, so I can be consistent and have a weekly schedule of 1 chapter a week. I kinda stopped doing the paintings I did, found a regular non-artist job, got married and still am, with my happy wife! So now I'm back. I don't want to just work a non-art related job but also I can't afford to live with just commissions to stop that job. I had done commissions before but I massively undersaled my art for what it was, just because I didn't thought my art was unique enough or that I would get commissions at all.
So what do I do, whats different now? I think its the fear of missing out of the only thing precious to me, doing art, not any art. I dig to draw Skelletons, Demons, Mechas, Armors, or mix of them all. Will I have commissions? Yes, I will also do adoptables. Will this be my main focus? No it won't. I want to upload personal work and have fun. Providing you with art you can enjoy.
So how am I imagining this will go on. So I commit to upload at least one painting per week, I'm already creating Art and keeping a buffer folder for times I won't be able to draw. I do that also for my webcomic. Whats a buffer? instead of uploading all art at one time I keep some work to upload later. This helps you have always some works to show and avoids times where you would't upload for a long time.
Why Adoptables? Most of my art are characters I drew 1-2 times and then move to something else, so they are perfect for someone who wants them. Of course they will be pricy. Commissions will be a bit cheaper than adoptables but still pricy. Why? Because I value my time, I'm not a starving artist, I don't depent on commissions and I belive its worth that price.
So AI is scary. But even more scary than AI is to stop drawing. Art is already hard and many artist stop at some time for varius reasons. I mean why do I draw or why are you drawing art? It's exciting right? Its like a friend you sometimes get along sometimes you don't. But they are your friend, you don't want them to go away.. Wouldnt you want to draw even if no ones would praise you? isnt that one friend all you need to have..
..so you don't feel alone?
Right. fffffuck AI yes, but for the love of God dont stop! you do it for you! its part of your life. take breaks yes. A friend waits for a friend.
Good got that out of my system. so Yeah I'm SkullKaizer 7th Admiral Of the Armies of Satan.. wait.. thats not the best image for.. Ok we are already here so who cares. Welcome, I'm a Skeleton, talk to me, I like talking. I like to spam. I behave. I'm not a try hard guy, he/him.
So lets see how this goes, thoughts or questions always welcome
