About me: I'm an introvert
General | Posted 3 years agoI think one of the bigger misunderstood factors of us introverts is that many people when they hear the word "introvert" they think "oh they hate social interaction and seclude themselves". No, this does not mean we hate social interaction. We just prefer to take things slow and not get so bullheaded. I would rather take some time and think about what I want to say rather than blurt out stuff not thinking of potential consequences. Even the Bible says this:
Proverbs 17:28 "Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent."
Proverbs 21:23 "Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble."
Matthew 12:36-37 "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
So with that being said, I'm not really into going to conventions, because it's too fast paced for me. Too much going on all at once. While I wouldn't mind conventions if I go with like a person or 2, but when you have to invite your whole school over, that wouldn't go too well for me lol. I don't do parties at all, and I hate it when people condemn me for not socializing or taking a role in the party. It's just a part of who I am. It's my personality. Just make things small for me, and don't push me to do stuff I don't want.

Why I don't regularly buy commissions....anymore
General | Posted 4 years agoYou probably have noticed, I may have some select artists that I choose to get stuff done, but even then I get rather iffy about it anymore. This reason is because....you paid for it, so you want to get your money's worth out of it, but sometimes the artists can be rather jerks and be like 'you get what you get' regardless if you are satisfied with the outcome or not. There are also many art pieces that I paid good money for like leading up to like 5 pieces, on average of $30 USD each, up to 8 years ago, and still haven't seen anything yet. So yeah, unfortunately some artists are scammers. So if you take this into account, in a sense, buying art is just a huge waste of money.
Another reason is that I'm really getting picky on the styles, and I just think with enough practice and such, you can just do it yourself and save yourself a ton of money, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm not the greatest artist at all, but I've come to a point where I can do a lot of the stuff I would pay 20 to 30 USD an artist to do for me anymore. YOU KNOW what you want, so why not you DIY?

Adobe Photoshop is overrated
General | Posted 4 years agoI have always been big on testing out digital art studios, and I admit I can be pretty materialistic when it comes to finding the right one that works for me. I have tried Gimp, Photoshop, Paint.net, Clip Studio EX, Paint tool Sai 1 and 2, and Krita. So far, Photoshop is ironically on the bottom of being disliked, and Clip Studio being my top favorite. They say that Photoshop is the best thing out there for digital art, but I'll give you my reasons why I disagree:
1. Very bulky and takes up a lot of ram. I don't know, maybe it's my computer going to crap, but still.
2. Too expensive. $900 for an art studio? For that price I'd rather buy a new computer.
3. It doesn't have a stabilizer and thus doesn't work very well with tablets.
4. The "Linework" is basically a waste of time. It's basically doing joint by joint, then right click + Stroke + Ok. See that takes up way too much time. I've always preferred using my pen with the stabilizer on.
Photoshop is really meant for what it's name is. For photos. It's what it was originally designed for in the first place. It was originally designed for photographers to go in and do some neat looking touch ups, but not good for digital art. My Clip Studio Paint EX can do MANY things much better than Photoshop can and it only costs 5% of the cost of Photoshop. I think that is with adobe products in general.
And you wonder why it's one of the most pirated software. It's because nobody wants to pay $900 for something even Paint Tool Sai can do much better for.

Flexibility limits of Torick
General | Posted 4 years agoTorick is extremely hyper flexible just so you know, which you probably already knew that :) but like with all living creatures, they do have limits. Now zakonas like Torick all do have inhuman flexibility, and which I admit is very hard to do it in drawing so I will write about it. These are the limits of Torick:
Neck: Can be rotated about 270 degrees in either direction before it tightens up and Torick won't be able to breathe.
Arms: can be circled a full 360 degrees around his body and be dislocated to be able to move the whole way around.
Torso: Can be twisted 200 degrees in either direction. Torso can be bent down 180 degrees without effort before it touches his bottom torso. Since he can twist his body, if he wants he can move his torso to either side and let his torso be stretched about another 90 degrees.
Legs: Each leg can be bent a 360 degree rotation around his body. 270 degrees without effort. Front bend and back bent. On the side, legs can be bent 300 degrees without no effort at all, and can be stretched an additional 180 degrees before it starts tightening up.
Torick really enjoys his abilities to be as flexible as him. He also enjoys it when others play around with his limbs either, but as long as you know his limits, but if you look in terms of each limb, his limits farrrr exceed humanly possible, so it is unlikely you're gonna overstretch him since even with certain limbs like arms, legs, and torso if you overstretch them past their limits, don't worry about it, because how he's made is if you stretch past the limit, they just get more flexible.

Opening up species
General | Posted 5 years agoLately on my downtime, I have been really contemplating opening my Zakona species up, but in order to do that, I would have needed to figure out what the male and female genders would look like. Other than that, it's pretty much ready to be opened up. If anything, I can leave it up to the artist for artistic freedom. As long as they follow certain standards. I mean, it's my species, my rules. X)
Standards are as follows:
1. Distinct large ears
2. Draconic look/lizard hybrid
3. Three toes on each foot (though it can still be expanded more, three toes is the original character species
4. They are natural contortionists, just kinda like how Synxes are natural contortionists, but like I said it's up to the artist.

Changes in RP
General | Posted 6 years agoThere is gonna be a change in my ability to RP with people. For those that don't already know, I'm strictly SFW, because when I create a character, I get attached to it while it being around being SFW. When I RP with random people I don't know, and they start giving dirty thoughts to my characters, that image stays in my mind about them, and it RUINS my character. I no longer will have the same thoughts about them.
So with that being into play, I will no longer RP with any random person. If I get to know you, and you want to RP, yes that's fine.

Name change soon. From Skye to __________
General | Posted 8 years agoI realized, Skye is a female name. But he is male. I may open up a naming contest like whoever finds a name for him, wins money or something or I can draw their character for free.
So what do you think I should name it? I kinda wanted it to be like fantasy related, but not too long of a name.
