I'm sure a lot of you are friends with me on Facebook, but here's my current situation.
I've been having jaw pain, headaches, earaches for a long time now. 4 years ago, I went to the dentist, and he told me that my lower jaw was too small, and that was what was causing me pain. I didn't have a fulltime job at that point, so I didn't pursue it further.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Dentist told me that my teeth are wearing down far faster than they should. Also, my pain is getting more severe and my whole mouth is becoming very sensitive.

I went to the orthodontist, they took pictures of my mouth and gave me some info.

I will need braces, and then after my teeth are straight, I have to have surgery where they break my jaw and reshape it with metal plates. It's not outpatient either.

So- prices (and I do have decent insurance!)

Braces- $5000
Surgery - $12000- $30000.

I drove home crying. Even if I do have a decent job, I can't save that money up. Who can? Even if I spend nothing but mortgage and bills, it will take me over 2 years.
That's a ton of money! And if I don't get it soon- like within the next year, my teeth are going to be unsaveable and I'll be in pain the rest of my life.

It will be slow work, but hopefully I can make at least some of what I'll need for my surgery.

I'm super excited for Furpocolypse! I didn't think I would be able to go to another con this year, but work happened to be flying me out that way anyhow! Woot! So I'll see all of you there? Hello, I am Splat now! Mwahahaahah. Take over complete! Resistance is futile.

I have purchased Splat the Fennec and her art! She will be coming to me soon!
Why - I am a painter. I went to college for art and I love painting. And fennec foxes. And bright colors.

Her character really struck a chord with me. She does lots of outdoorsy stuff like shooting and camping, and also loves being out and about and making people happy in public. This is me to a t- and I felt the need to continue the fun that the former owner of Splat had with her. She'll be going on lots of new, fun adventures soon!
