Art has been slow lately. Some big life changes happening with the family has taken up most of my attention and energy.

I'm hoping I'll pick up the pen once more when things calm down again in time, but I'm so exhausted all the time these days, I doubt I'll be able to draw like I used to. I'm also dabbling more into sci-fi art than furry stuff these days, back to my roots and why I started drawing in the first place. I'm hoping my energy improves and my muse returns to me, but it's all very difficult right now.

Not really much else to say. I hope you all had a pleasant summer.

I really don't update nearly as much as I should.

It's been a year, and it's been tough to adapt to changes in my life. I'm a lot weaker and don't have the endurance that I used to have, and I have to avoid groups of people now that I'm immuno suppressed.

I also had some income support hiccups while I was recovering from surgery that I'm still trying to fix. I don't have as much money as I used to have available.

Art has been slow too. My joints are in a bad shape so I can't draw for any length of time before I physically can't any more, and walking a few blocks is rough.

Mentally, I'm not doing amazing, and that's also affecting my ability to draw and create like I used to. I feel like a different person these days.

I have a lot of support from people around me, and I'm thankful for it, but it also makes me feel terrible that I can't support myself.


Things just have been very rough lately.

I'm back home now. Docs finally let me out of their sight.

It's weird. The last four months almost feel like a dream now that I'm back here.

New liver, same hospital.

Since my last journal, I've been struggling with growing medical issues until December when things got bad enough for a week long hospital visit.

Since then, I've been in and out of the hospital several times and now I'm on an organ transplant waiting list.

I was hoping to rebound more, but I am perpetually exhausted and in pain, which makes even simple things much more difficult to do, including art.

As such, most art (especially the full pics) are on hold until this debacle is over. There may be a few more sketchy items on good days, but I'm not expecting it.

Sorry for being so quiet for so long. Lifes gone through a lot of changes in the last few months. Lots of ups and down and all of which kept me pretty busy.

In the end, I think the coin toss came up more good than bad and I'm in a better place than where I was previously. Hopefully I can focus more and get back to work on the whole artist thing.

Been a long time since I wrote something.

I think calling 2020 a write-off as a year is pretty expected. Both with everything happening in the world, but also a lot of personal and family stuff I won't be getting into.

I'm hoping to get back to things in 2021. More streaming, more worldbuilding, more personal art and finally getting around to revamping, redesigning and working on my own characters and designs.

I'll try posting here more to keep everybody informed. Stay tuned.

Just a general life update. October was full of family and financial things, which really slowed my art down. I'm trying to get back on track again in the coming days. Mostly writing this to let my commissioners know I'm still working on things!

I am officially done 100% of art paid for! Time for me to shift gears.

I'll be taking less in the year to come in an effort to get myself updated on new tools and techniques, which I have been neglecting rather badly since I started taking commissions years ago. I need to improve myself and start feeling good about my art again.

What does this mean?

Ideally, I'll be focusing more on my own characters (including redesigns and more world building), friends characters, and generally experimenting and practicing with new equipment and programs in order to up my skill level. And to also diversify my interests again and also make some life choices in the months to come.

Since I'm drawing close to finishing my commission list, and probably won't be offering any more in the near future in favor of working on my own stuff for a while, I've decided that my characters are badly in need of some updates and redesigns since some have not changed very much for well over a decade!

First of all my list has grown to big. Again. As it stands, sometimes characters will get a picture every couple of years, if ever, outside of their initial picture. Additionally, the work into their personalities and settings that make them actual characters gets divided between all of them, reducing the information available to any particular character.

I'm looking to have a roster of 3-6 characters to regularly draw and develop as an exercise in creative writing and also get back into doing exercises and experiments with my art and hopefully show some improvement that way too. I'm not happy at all where I am skillwise.

Characters I decide to keep will get updated, overhauled, and revamped. Others will be retired for possible future use. People have been asking if I would consider selling older characters and while I'm not inclined to right now, it's something for me to think more about.

SO FOR YOUR PART: I'm open to suggestions about which of my characters you'd like to see stick around, things you'd like to know about them, and/or any new species/themes you'd like to see from me in the future?
