Almost done with this week, ive been working every night since Sunday night and will be working until Sunday night this weekend, All I got left is 3 nights, and I couldnt be happier that im nearly done with it.

Gonna be so sweet to get those 2 or 3 days off next week, and I hope I dont have another solid week like this for awhile at least, its tiring and even  demonicbellic can tell from when we chat on skype that im just worn out and this week of work has taken its toll on me mentally.

Anyway there is a silver lining, I get to have the next 4 weekends all be busy and fun!

This weekend: Work Company Picnic @ Bunker Hills Wave Pool (Free admission for me + 1 guest to the pool).

Next weekend: MNfurs bi-weekly

Well Id like to let people know I found someone for me, im very happy about since we share interests and really get along well, and it seems we fell in love quickly after getting to know each other. We met on a game called BoardgameOnline.

Well Detour was especially fun with year, with the fur group having such a presence there was definitely alot more furry around this year than last. I got to enjoy the convention plenty and still put in 13 1/2 hours helping MNfurs as well as 1 1/2 hours with the actual con as a volunteer.

I fursuited, alot, but thats normal for me to do, I gamed, I went to panels, and I got plenty of pictures of me taken between the fursuiting around and the Fursuit photo's with anime fans.

I finished my feetpaw off and it doesnt look like a new pair will be ready in time for MNFurs Spring Picnic :sadface: but ill buy a roll of ductape and see if my feetpaws can take 1 last huzzah at the picnic.

on another note im officially registered for CONvergence 2012 and Cat Days of Summer. ^.^

Ill probably be registering for MFF and getting my hotel arrangements in order next month if I have the money by then.

and im very excited, Ive already planned out which panels ill be at and ill be fursuiting otherwise or hanging around, lots of fun stuff this year but by far the most exciting is the MNfurs room party.

For those who are not aware the new movie out today "A Thousand Words" contains a fursuit sex (yiff) reference, and it goes for around 10 seconds.

Sufficed to say im not happy about seeing a reference in the movies like this and I expect my parents and friends who know im a furry will be asking me about it soon as they see the movie.

Im likely to avoid wearing my tail or fursuit in public now until Detour on the 30th, since people are going to be likely to ask about it thanks to this movie.

it took awhile for Draco to fix a problem he was having but we got it uploaded.

I think this is also my first time truely in public (outside of MNfur events) wearing my suit and it was a Blast.

For those who didnt know him, he may have died young at the age of 62 but Scott LeDoux lived several lifetimes and was a very remarkable man with many achivements and legacies he has left behind.

He was a boxer for many years and was a Heavy Weight Contender for the Championship belt and fought many legendary boxers, however it was what he did after his career as a boxer and Vietnam vet that I think he will be remembered by.

Scott LeDoux was a champion of giving back and you could rarely go to a charity event without seeing him there or hearing his name, he gave back so much to the community he lived in and stayed involved in it.

He was elected a County Commissioner for Anoka County, MN and served many years despite his ongoing battle with ALS and helped shape and improve the county to what it is today.

Most notable I think he will be remembered for his funny story, which he had alot of them, he truely lived a rich and fufilling life and will be remembered by those he touched.

Farewell Scott, we will miss you, Rest in Peace in Heaven with your family and friends.

So theres 2 events im looking forward to coming up:

First is the MNfurs Fall Picnic on September 10th which if the weather is better than the Spring Picnic (we got rained on and it was very cloudy) it should be a blast.

Next is O.M.F.G. (October Minnesota Furry Gathering), and in case your wondering the idea for the name is based on the WTF Convention (What the Fur?). This should be a fun event with lots of activities, some room parties and a dance starting at 8 PM.

Of course the Bi-weekly meets still are lots of fun

As far as me im hoping to have a youtube vid up soon as Draco can figure out the problem with it being out of order, I was very excited to have a fursuit outing taped and especially one of the first onces ive ever done wearing my partial suit.

Just got home from Relay, it was a hot afternoon (80's) with some humidity and yet we had 8 team members of the 10 show up, 5 people of those 8 wearing fursuits during the event.

The Opening ceremoney was nice and we suited up thinking they were gonna have the teams take a lap, we went over to the stands and were immediately greeted by ALOT of kids, some were little devils (like the one who kept asking us personal questions like "Do you have a wife?" "How old are you" "Do you have kids" and some really cute kids like the little girl who genuinely thought we were real animals.

Unfortunately we didnt get the tent up til after the opening ceremonies so most of us de-suited / suited in the open which probably ruined the magic for some of the kids. It definitely got ruined for a few when one of the suiters left their head sitting rather prominently on the table and some kids came over and noticed it. oh well.

Our biggest hit of the night was our Animal Iron Artist event and Carmel Dansen contest which we gave away awesome prizes. Our Animal face painting was also a decent hit and the kids loved it.

we had a good discussion at the team meeting and theres alot of things we need to work on but overall there was alot more good over the bad. I hope to have pictures within a week posted on my FA from the event, there will be pictures from Aerick from MNfurs and from the actual event photographer for Relay so some might be posted sooner than others.

Well I was there from the afternoon to midnight Thursday, early morning to 9 PM Friday and a few hours Saturday. It was a TON of fun. The atmosphere there was filled with energy most of the time and there was usually something fun happening around the con somewere.

I was in suit for around 8-10 hours of the time i was there, the reactions werent very good (most people just meh'd) but there wasnt any jeering like what happened at Anime Detour (there was 2 occassion were the group of fursuiters got jeered by fur-haters). The reactions were better when I went with another suiter there. Programming wise I learned a good bit from some of the costuming panels for useful tricks on finding stuff and other things as well as had some fun at Con of the North's room party on Thursday.

The meeting on Saturday was pretty good, we discussed room parties and I think its going to happen that MNfurs will have a room party at Anime Detour 2012.

My feetpaws took some some good dings and even a seam rip from me wearing them most of the convention (even when I was not wearing the rest of my partial, I was wearing my feet and tail, and sometimes even my goggles.), it was fun tho and I am tired out for the weekend.

I agreed to help the relay for life squad for the Earle Brown Days parade. I showed up in my Skystrider Partial suit, Sierrafox shows up in some gear and one of her friends came with a tail.

At first when I was suiting around to the other units there was alot of shy/scared kids and I was a bit worried, however when it was almost time to start there was some good fun with me interacting with a few mascots (Pee cup and needle from healthpartners, bowling pin from AWF.) as well as the band who I gave a bunch of hi-fives and even a few hugs.


When the Parade started the reaction was simply awesome, the kids loved seeing me out there and I was jumping from side to side of the street to high five people, I even saw 2 furs (1 had a hat with ears, the other had no gear but identified himself as Furry). The entire length of the parade I could always hear kids going "Eagle" or "bird" and being quite excited. After we cleared the end of the parade I was simply exhausted and had to sit in the car with my head off and just relax, it was tiring but TOTALLY worth it. The Relay for life people were very happy to have had some of the Steps fur the Cure team.


Next week is CONvergence 2011 and I look forward to plenty of suiting and even getting some steampunk gear for my fursuit. Ill make sure to tell you guys all about the fun.

My 24th B-day is coming up in November. I have done some thinking and want to definately do something more than just going out to a bar or being around family.

Ive been really considering having a decent sized party and inviting friends, family and furries since ive grown to know furry as my 2nd family and I want to celebrate with them especially since around the time of my birthday is ALSO the 1 year mark of my furry'ness for when I found the Furry Fandom. I think it would be really fun to invite my local furs to a place and just have a fun night partying and dancing.

What would you guys think about that? My birthday tho is near thanksgiving which is probably the only and main problem with having something like this since many folks would be out of town or not be wanting to do a meet up.

So I recently went shopping for some new belts, clothing, and such and decided to wear my feetpaws and tail. At first I got a few chuckles from people in the distance at me wearing my gear but near the end of my shopping I got some really cool reactions.

The first was a gentleman who approached me asking about my tail and feet and what it was about and I proceeded to explain about furry and the furry fandom and how I enjoy sometimes wearing my gear out in public when doing stuff. He thought that was really cool and appreciated that I had the courage to do that.

As me and him talked a gal was coming up from behind and asked for a picture of my tail and I let her get a picture.

It was pretty cool seeing such positive reaction to furry and someone defying social norms by wearing such things out into public.

Tommorrow im going to a Relay for Life team meeting (some furs from MNfurs are participating in the brookyln center event in July) and at the last meeting they were interested in seeing someone in a suit after I explained furry and told them about our team being a bunch of furs from the MNfurs group.

Ok So to Anime Detour 2011

I wasnt able to go all 3 days since I had work but I went Friday for most of the day.

I arrived at 10:20'ish and WOW, there was a shit ton of ppl, this was my first time going to an actual con of this magnitude. Of course I had decided to go but a few days earlier so the con was sold out of passes. Oh well though, I looked around awhile in the halls and garden and it didnt take me long to find other furs there and a group of MNfurs there.

I hanged out for awhile and went with them when they fursuited and got my first take of seeing what fursuiting is like (and being a spotter / handler for suiters) and I loved the reaction we got for the most part by people there. We got stopped every few feet for pictures , there was tons of hugs, and only a few times some furry-haters jeered us from afar. This definitely has gotten me excited for my fursuit to arrive (oh btw Tunny started on it over the weekend, im hoping he will finish by the end of the month or at least in time for the Spring Picnic).

Im rather disappointed with Anime Detour for turning down having MNfurs host that Fursuiting panel and instead putting some furries me and the other MN furries there didnt hear of, I heard from a furry that it was suggested for MNFurs to host that panel however it was shot down. Guess what tho? I spotted people from the MNfurs leadership there and many of the same furs from Snowpocalypse too.


Anyway it was tons of fun and they let people with furry-gear (tails, ears, etc) who didnt have a partial or full into a picture during the 8:00 PM fursuiter photos, yay.

What fun, my first furmeet :D . I think of everything there I found the panels the most interesting however. I went to 3 panels, 1 was general furry-realted Q&A ish stuff, 1 was about MNFurs and were they are heading and whats in the works (and yes they did say that there possibly be ANOTHER hotel not-a-con-a-con-a-con and future events will be bigger, however a full out convention is probably years away still until we have the volunteer basis and enough interest) and finally a fursuit performing improvement panel were I learned alot about fursuiting (and just in time too, my partial is coming in 1-2 months) and some tips for having a better experience when out in public fursuiting.

One of the more exciting things I got to do was meet a few secondlife friends there as well (Zielvos, his girlfriend, Edo, among others) and the whole experience itself was wonderful and I really enjoyed being able to attend a furmeet of that size (oh and did I mention that they guessed around 160-180 people showed up? there was plenty of fursuiters and tails galore and plenty of questions from other hotel guests about what was going on with all these people wearing tails and mascot costumes.

Im looking forward to the picnic and hope my fursuit arrives by then, im hoping to, before then, get some people together for a public fursuiting somewere so i can get a feel for it before I hop into my fursuit in late-april / May.
