Fed up with childish behaviour in the art community
Posted 4 months agoHello everyone,
I know many won’t like this journal, but I’ve honestly had enough of the childish behaviour from certain artists.
I’m tired of being blocked just because:
I’m not a “great artist,”
I’ve shared a polite critique, or
I’ve dared to discuss sensitive topics (like AI art) in a respectful, non-abusive way.
Some well-known artists have become so high-minded that they look down on beginners, less experienced artists, or simply art lovers – and block people without a real reason.
Here are a few of the ridiculous reasons I’ve been blocked – on X and even here:
I opened a polite, civil discussion on the topic of AI-generated artwork. I didn’t insult anyone, I just shared my point of view – and got blocked for it.
I liked and retweeted/faved pictures I found visually appealing – whether human-made or AI-generated. Apparently, supporting any AI art is enough for some people to block you. That’s not professionalism – that’s childish tribalism.
And sometimes... no reason at all. Just instant block.
I’m honestly starting to feel like I’m in a preschool surrounded by people who throw tantrums over nothing. What happened to being open-minded, supporting creativity in all forms, and treating each other with basic respect?
If your definition of “artistic integrity” includes blocking people for liking the wrong picture or asking a question – then I want no part of that mindset.
Thanks for reading.

A.I pictures and such
Posted 4 months agoHello everyone!
As the journal title say I posting about AI generated pictures. I know many of you will would bite through my throat for this and may be I'll be the bad person.
But... As we know FurAffinity does prohibit the upload of AI generated pictures right?
Hey this is supposed to be a tolerant and accepting community.
I know many of you worry about AI generated pictures will allegedly decrease your workload or amount of orders as people will use AI instead.
In my point of view yes AI may cause some loss in income as many of you doing art for a living I can understand it is worrying
But let me point some things out.
-Some people can't really afford over hundred dollars and up to a few hundreds for commissions including me... I will always buy pictueres: adopts and commissions from you guys when I can afford it, just please try to see the point that I try to make
-Some people may lack of visual artistic skills in general or people have lost the artistic skills, due to health issues: like after a stroke, accident, or motorneuron disease that affect their ability, or completely disable them to keep drawing...
So these people may use AI as an artistic tool to express themselves, and the prohibition of uploading AI generated pictures basically prohibit those people to upload their work made with AI. Not an easy thing to write a prompt that exactly reflects the visual appearance of your work what you have imagined how would it looked like.
I am not rebeling against these rules, only point things out to maybe ease the strict rules on AI generated pictures and create a category for this, and tag those pictures made with AI as you need to tag your uploads as made for General audience, Mature audience, or Adult audience, there may be another fourth tagging option as for AI generated
Many will do not like this journal I can understand Please don't be childish and block me for this journal as you never know when a life changing event will occur with you.
I know its not related to FurAffinity but We've unfortunately lost one of our colleague permanently not through death but sadly he had a life changing medical event. He had a stroke and now he can no longer drive any more. No one knows when this medical events will occure in your life just think about probably there are a few artists out there, who had life changing medical events that rendered or disabled them to draw, and their only way to keep making visual art is AI
Your sincerely William
