I wanna try to schedule one week for every other month to do some kind of special collab commissions w/ LoboSong , but idk what kind of specials we should do? So I'm posting this to hopefully get some suggestions from you guys

Aside from our usual commissions, what should we do? It can be anything from paying for a themed drawing, YCH ideas (group and singular characters), colored sketch pages for 5 drawings total each at a reduced price from our regular price, or something (must stay sfw tho) Let us know!

So last week, my family and I found out that our chocolate lab Dutch is diabetic. He had lost a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time recently and that concerned us, so we told my aunt, who is a veterinarian's assistant, about it. She said it was most likely diabetes, so on Friday we got blood work done to find out. We also took a urine sample, which showed he had ~540 glucose level (yikes!)

So on Monday, we decided to try out insulin to allow him to live for a bit longer (the other option was to euthanize him, which we didn't want to do until we tried the insulin) So my aunt drew his blood today to check his glucose level after we gave him 4 shots of 15 milligrams (Monday night, both meals Tuesday, and this morning) and it dropped to 230-something. My aunt thought at best it would drop to 300, so we were all very elated to find out the insulin would help him! (its harder to regulate with bigger dogs, so he's pretty lucky) And another great thing is 10 mL of insulin from Walmart will be $25, so we're good on that front (at first we thought we would have to buy the $85 one online, but that's bc my aunt wasn't aware that the bottle from Walmart was 10 mL lol)

I was gonna open donations and do special commissions with LoboSong , but now we don't have to do that. However, I will still accept donations if you want to help out, but its not a big deal! Regular commissions will still be around tho!

We're very elated about all of this! We will continue to appreciate any thoughts and prayers that he can live for a while longer if you are that kind of person. We'll be very grateful for that <3

I'm trying to expand my friend's and my commission information to other furry related sites since we draw furry things, but I don't really know any others besides FurAffinity, FurryNetwork, and SoFurry. I know of InkBunny (I think that's what its called?) but its mainly a nsfw furry site, right? We only do sfw stuff and artistic nudity, so it'd need to be sfw friendly when it comes to commission work

As many of you (probably) know, my friend LoboSong and I create a wolf comic called Of Plights and Honor where our two main characters have a pack and 1 enemy with cameo characters from other artists/OC creators. This means we would not be able to make a profit from working on said comic because it’d require compensation for the cameo people that we might not be able to get monetary gain for anyway (we don’t really have a lot of viewers on Tapastic or here, so I don’t see it sellable even if we could compensate the cameo people) Not only that, but this was also kind of a test run to see how well Kylie and I work together with a big project like this one. So far, we have enjoyed the work we have done, so I wanted to see about making another comic with her one day, tho it was entirely up to her since she’s the main artist who can draw animal anatomy well (her background skills are flipping fantastic too!)

Well we have decided to do just that and come up with a 100% original new comic that we could make a profit on eventually (tho it’d still be viewable for free online (I think Tapastic pays the artists via advertisements, but I’m not 100% sure on that?)) There is no telling when we’d start making actual pages (we kinda need to finish OPAH first heh) but I will say this: we have started brainstorming out our idea. To avoid giving too much away, I will say that it’ll be Apocalyptic themed, have anthro and feral animal OCs known as Animalia (the anthro animals only) and the title is The Point of No Return

At the moment I am trying to write the storyline (while adding panel descriptions that I’ve already thought up to help Kylie with visualization) and we’re both trying to come up with the characters. So far we have only partly-finished OCs, but we have a good start on our main characters (most have species, gender, and relations, but designs and clothing is only a small percentage done) We also have to discuss the fictional planet that the Animalia live on and hopefully we can come up with a map/atlas type thing to correspond with everything down the road

Do we have a long way to go before we can start cranking out pages? Absolutely, because this comic is going to (hopefully) be a long and good one, but we are already getting a nice headstart on it all, its only a matter of time until we have all of our ideas out on paper. In the meantime, I plan to try and keep everyone informed about progress as we create our characters and the story. So far I have started a private document with Kylie on each chapter with how many pages and panels they will have. I only have the prologue (chapter 0) finished and am getting a start on chapter 1 already. It’ll take us a while before we have exact page numbers per chapter and how many panels total for each, since I can only make my own panel descriptions intermingled with the storyline so much, but everyone will be informed when changes occur

I wish I could donate, I really do, but with my money uncertainties (idk how much money I actually have bc of the way my mum and I have had to handle my bank account stuff (basically she had to put in her 10k car accident settlement money into my bank account and pay bills with my checks/account since she couldn't use hers in fear of the stupid ass debt collectors stealing it all)) the best I can do is signal boost the journal linked. As much as I am desperate for money myself, I don't have as much to lose as my friend does (she is in fear of losing her cats, which are, for her, therapy animals (I think most pets, regardless of certification, are therapy animals) so if you want to help someone, please help her. She deserves it

So the bill WILL be about $300-400 for my dog to have his fat tumor surgically removed. My mum does have a stash of items she can sell, including fine silver cutlery and a gold coin or two from my grandmother, so we might have the right amount for it.
