We're down to the last day to appear with me in a hockey commission! I will be picking 2 numbers at random using a number generator online. Will one be your number, could it be a friend? Wait... you didn't enter yet?! You didn't tell your friends?!? You have just 24 hours before the drawing to enter. Just your name, jersey number and a reference to your character and uniform is all you need! It can be any team; NHL, CHL, AHL, NCAA or a team you just made up!

Here's your chance to appear in a commission with me and one other fuzzball for Christmas! I will pick two (2) random furs to appear in a black and white, scrimmage-like, hockey commission by

So.. who am I?
Posted 13 years agoI wanted to wait until my debut of my suit at MFM to say who I really am. Most of you knew, figured it out by association or were told. However a lot of you don't know who my original fursona is.
I am
fyrefang!
In the early stage of coming up with my original character, he was actually a saber toothed jaguar but over time I lost the teeth and normalized the color to what he looks like today. He popped up on the furry scene at the end of 1999 and my first fursuit, which was a darkstone realms jaguar (I know a few of you know what that is), came about 2001 and first showed up at MFM 2001. The current Fyrefang suit, by
mixedcandy came into existence the weekend of FWA 2005.
I am in no way retiring Fyrefang, I would like to get another full suit of him in the future.
So came along

State of the Slash, so what's going on?
Posted 13 years agoGetting ready for MFM coming up at the end of this month and really looking forward to it. The fursuit is looking pretty good and hopefully will be finished up and sent in the very near future. Picked up some other goodies and accessories to go with it as well so again, I hope I'll be able to suit with them very soon.

FWA 2012: The good, bad and ugly
Posted 13 years agoFWA was pretty awesome, lots of good friends, food and entertainment!
The good: Getting to hangout with friends like lennymutt and 
greypaws, two of the most awesome furs around. Getting away and relaxing was nice as was the food. I didn't drink much at the con at all due to not really being invited to parties. There was a TON of sabercats there too! All in all, I'll be returning next year, hopefully!
The bad: I'd say the lack of parties where one can just hang out and chat with others. Sadly, if there was any, I couldn't find them. Furs tend to be a bit too clickish from what I've seen or the parties had a theme or actions I didn't care for. I'm still pretty new to the scene so the question is there anything out there for us that just want to chat and hangout and not "bump and grind"?
I also really wish I had my fursuit in time for the con, I think a lot more would recognize me.
The ugly: The area is ugh... limited parking is WAY too high and getting to hear an episode of Cops outside my door Monday morning. On offense to anyone who lives there but downtown Atlanta is just horrible, but not much can be done and it doesn't reflect on the con overall. Security and the police was a very welcome sight at the con.
Another ugly thing is the complete rudeness of con attendees. Really guys, I seriously wanted to smack some furs around the way they were acting. Here's an easy list to follow to help you extend your life span around me...
1. Let people get out of the elevator before plowing in and blocking the people that need to get out with your fat ass.
2. If you see a fursuiter, or anyone for that matter, attempting to hop on the elevator when you are getting in or out, be nice and hold the door. Fursuiters especially can't see the doors close on them or make a mad dash because you flew in the elevator and hit your floor and door close.
3. Be considerate to works and servers. I saw several times furs being flat out rude, and yes, they had a con badge on.
4. Respect others personal space. There's no need to breath on everyone or walk so close you can ride on someone's back. Enough said...
5. Please make an effort hide your porn/sex toys in public.. again, enough said.

Resolutions? The usual ones I guess, lose weight / gain muscle. I also hope to get better with my art and hope to start posting more of it. I've been drawing, like almost everyday but don't think it to be good enough to post yet.
Maybe I'll do one of those month by month art samples like people post at the end of the year to show how they progressed next December!

Posted 14 years agoWelp, Slash's first con went well! Hard to believe I've been in the fandom for a year now.
I did get to hang out with a few friends at MFM and saw a few others I knew online. Man, you fursuiters need to slow down! I looked up one minute you are there and the next you are gone I also need to stay longer, feels like I didn't get enough time at the con.
I had hoped that my suit was going to be done in time for the con but things came up, no biggie. I'll have it for the next con, which I haven't decided on yet. It'll be much easier for people to spot me then!
Oh, and I did get a few pictures when I remembered my camera! Hopefully, pictures to follow, if I can find my camera.

Updated: Anyone up for quick art?
Posted 14 years agoAnyone available to do a quick colored drawing of Slash sitting in front of a computer and screen pointing a pistol at the screen like he's pissed? It would be preferable if it wasn't full body and on a solid background (due to transparency). Credit will be given and used as a title screen in a "Let's Play" game series on YouTube. Digital perferred and can be flat with no shading. Note me with an estimate price and completion time frame, the sooner the better
