Watchers and RL and E-Mail, Oh My!
General | Posted 19 years agoWow, 600 watches! I can't believe it!
Thank you all for the incredible amount of support you've shown me since I started posting.
As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting work at the pace I was after Christmas. That's because, sadly, the holidays are over and I'm back to the proverbial grind. I'll still be posting here as inspiration strikes, but for the time being I need to give "Real" art the priority.
Finally, I have e-mail! Anyone wanting to send something a little more permanent than a note can reach me at slate4000@hotmail.com. I may even show up on MSN from time to time.
Thanks again for the watches!

General | Posted 19 years agoWow! Thanks everyone for 300+ watches! It still boggles my mind the kind of reception you guys give me. Thanks a lot!
Holy Cow
General | Posted 19 years agoMan, I take a couple weeks to concentrate on schoolwork and the whole fandom loses its mind. I haven't been a fur for a terribly long time, but I've never seen so many people get so worked up so quickly.
For any of you who are reading this and have no idea what I'm talkiing about, there is currently a discussion on banning or allowing mature-themed cub art on FurAffinity, as well as a poll in the forums, because the admins here are awesome and want to make sure they're doing what the people want.
However, the debate seems to have fallen into familar "black or white" Territory. These are old debates, old enough for most people to have chosen a camp already, and everyone is very defensive of their positions. Too defensive, in fact. No progress is ever going to ba made if everyone just sits around lobbing insults from within their turtle shells.
I've given my two cents on the forums and frankly that's as deep into this quagmire as I'm willing to be drawn. I'm all for rational debate, but anyone near the middle of the road is just going to get run over in this thing, which has become polarised like only an internet forum debate can be.
I applaud the admins for leaving this choice up to the users, but I think it may have been a mistake. Politics on the internet is an ugly thing. People can't stay on topic. In the time it took me to write this, the thread has degraded into a senseless flame-war spinning its wheels in the mud as everyone tries to out-scream each other. Seeing as the poll is basically tied, I think that the decision should go right back to the admins, so that they can do what they feel is best for the them, us, the site, and the community at large.

Blown Away
General | Posted 19 years agoWow.
200 watchers in two months. I have no idea if that puts me above or below the average, but I still find it amazing that so many people are interested enough in my crappy doodles to ask to see more. I promise to try and keep doing whatever it is you all like. I even have a special project in the works you all may enjoy, somewhere down the road ;)
Once again, thank you all for your support. And, as always, I'm open to suggestions for any pics you'd like to see done.
Gratitude,

Blanket Thank-You
General | Posted 19 years agoIn my first month here on Furaffinity, I have received a tremendous amount of support from a very surprising number of people. I've tried to thank as many personally as I can, but there simply aren't enough hours in the day! This has been leaving me feeling rather guilty, since the last impression I want to give is that I don't appreciate it!
Therefore, I've decided to take a page out of Beachfox's book and do a sort of communal address to everyone who's shown their appreciation for my work in the form of watches or favorites. I'd like to especially thank everyone who has taken the time to comment on my work or shout on my userpage. It's your support, and even your criticisms, that allow me to grow as an artist, even if what I post here are only doodles.
So thank you. Thank you all. You've vindicated my decision to bring my work into the public spotlight, and I hope my future work will justify the faith you've shown.
Gratitude,
Slate
PS-I'm always open to suggestions, if there's anything anyone would like to see me draw.
