I was in a car crash
General | Posted 13 years ago... on 10/01/2009. And I totally forgot to tell yal! 8D Or that might have been when my parents put K-9 on the computer... anyhow, I figured I'd inform the, what, 5 people who read my journals? Maybe? That I was in a wreck. My sister took a left turn at a bad time, and I was T-boned at 30 mph. Fun stuff. I went unconscious until the ambulance arrived, where I was out-of-body while they pulled me out of the car (which was smashed up against me), put me in a neck brace and on the stretcher, and then into the ambulance. I'm not sure when I realized that the moaning and screaming I was finding annoying was mine, but I quieted when I was in the ambulance. I called the guy I loved, in case I died, and my sister and the lady who ran into us rode most of the way in silence. The paramedic kept trying to keep my conscious by asking questions, so I wouldn't slip into a coma. I just wanted to sleep. I think I may have blacked out occasionally. I just remember moaning a lot, maybe rambling in french. I don't remember how long the ride was, jostling around, but I was in hell when they rolled me out of the van. Pain. Everywhere. And then they had to put me on the CAT scan thing. I cried as it felt like they... I don't even know. It was a dull, fierce pain. It gave me a headache. I nearly blacked out a few times. Then they rolled me into the hospital room. Cut through my shirt. But I wouldn't let them cut through my bra (60 bucks!), so they had to roll me over to unhook it. Oooooooooooow. They wiped the glass off of me, got me in a gown and on a morphine drip, and let my family see me. I immediately told my sister not to blame herself for the crash. They eventually let me sleep, but I remember having a hard time doing so. The morphine had to do a lot of work before I did. I don't remember when, but at some point I was transferred to ECU. The doctor told my parents it was a miracle that I wasn't worse, or dead. My seat-belt saved my life. I have 4 broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a lacerated liver. The liver would heal better on its own, so I just had to sit there for a long time, hyped up on morphine and a catheter up my urethra, since I couldn't more. It hurt to breathe. OVER the morphine. I read. Babbled in french. Had the dude I was secretly dating stay for a kiss. I don't remember a lot of the morphine time. I remember the doctor not allowing me to eat for a good while. And I wanted my damned Waffle House chicken biscuit! I eventually got it. And I got the catheter eventually taken out when I could used the bring-over-potty. It huuuuuurt. I hated it. I eventually got moved to my own room. I was in there for 4 days, total. Sent off with a sling, opiates, and an approval to return to school when I felt ready. I tried the next day - Monday - but I was just too exhausted. I stayed home for two weeks, healing. Someone had to carry my bags for at least a month after I returned. I had the sling on for I dunno how long. I couldn't write or draw for a while. I'm all healed up now, but if I draw a car crash, or get in the position they found me in, it'll trigger PTSD, and I have a panic attack. Fun stuff.

General | Posted 13 years agoA while back, I did a journal on deviantART about discovering the word for my sexuality. I tried to come out to my mother, and she rejected the principle before I even finished telling her about it or that I identified with it. Yesterday, while practicing driving, I came out, but didn't label it. I just explained how my attraction works, and offhandedly mentioned the name when she asked, but didn't really dwell on the name. And she accepted it. She says she and dad trust me more than they trusted my sisters when they came out as bisexual persons (they were restricted from sleepovers for a while), and believes me when I say that I won't sneak someone over/sneak out to have sex, and that I will tell them when I'm dating someone. I dunno if she's going to/has told dad, but I'm not.
Though I'm not currently interested in any girls, this will come in handy if I do start dating one in the future.

Allergies and fursuits [UPADTES]
General | Posted 13 years agoI go to the allergy doctor today, because, without Claritin D, I sneeze my brains out and get stuffed up and... yeah.
In other news, I'm considering making my own fursuit. Even if I ordered my fursuit, I'd still have to make the feet armature myself, so I figured, "Hey, why not?" If you didn't guess from the feet part, I'm doing my rat. I know NO ONE that makes rat feet. xD Though, I may look if anyone's done bird feet... or dragon feet. The head will also be a challenge. I'm considering building the muzzle out of chicken wire, but I hear foam is very good for the shapes.... I may have to order that bit. I did find an account on here recently that is a collection of fursuit reviews. But c'mon, guys. The rest of a rat wouldn't be that hard to make. So I may just do it myself... Just gotta save up for the materials! xD
UPDATE: Turns out I'm highly allergic to dust mites and cockroaches. Lovely. The most rampant thing in my house.
Also, I recently started watching the artist furredfem, and her style is truly unique. She's holding a raffle- you should enter!

General | Posted 13 years agoLong ago, my sister stumbled upon Chakats. This is what got all of my sisters and I into the furry fandom in the first place. Thing is, she was 13 at the time, myself at 11 and my little sister at 9, so of course she left out the fact that they're all intersexed. Once I was able to access the Chakat's Den, I did. First thing I did was read up on Chakats and their physicality. It fascinated me. Not sexually, mind you- I'm unable to become attracted to anything/one I cannot first get to know intellectually (demisexual), so Chakats held no sexual appeal for me. But their concept was a different matter. Completely adaptable creatures. I've never really liked my frail, human body, so I adored this fantasy species. Until I read the stories. I've never liked bodice rippers. I always felt like I was watching something private, and I DO picture what I read. While I understood that sex was a normal part of the Chakat life, I still couldn't get past that to the story, which fascinated me, but was poorly written. I even felt like asking Mr. Doove if I could rewrite the series better, and with less played out sex scenes (where it would be implied). But with how intertwined sex is with the story, I doubted I could do that. But the fact that Chakats were intersexed never bothered me. It made sense to me. And maybe it's just Mr. Doove rationalizing all the furry sex in his novels. So be it. It still makes sense to me. BUT I find it funny that most people who draw Chakats try to hide the sheath. It's like they're embarrassed about drawing intersexed characters. But they have no problem with drawing the boobs! Or the character in a sexual pose! Phallophobia, me thinks?
So, for the like, what, 20-ish people who watch me (maybe even fewer who read my journals), what is your view on Chakats, and if you draw them, do you have problems drawing their full anatomy and why?

Fursona/Character Use Rules
General | Posted 13 years agoStar is my fursona. Ze is what I use to represent myself to the internet, for the most part. I don't consider zem a part of me, ze is me. It even feels weird to refer to zem in third person. As is such, I would never depict zem doing anything I would not do. Similarly, anything other people depict them doing I assume they want me to do/do to me, unless I commission the picture. So:
DON'T
-Depict zem being sexual with anyone besides Hootie, Freyja, Satch, or M-ree, nor engaging in penis-in-vagina sex with anyone besides Hootie & Freyja without a condom without my expressed permission.
-Depict with any of the "No" fetishes on my f-list
-Alter zer design/anatomy - here is what I consider altering zer anatomy
-Depict zem being violent without protecting someone/themselves or without my expressed permission
-Depict zem as pregnant
-Depict zem producing milk unless feeding a baby
-Depict zem inflicting self-harm

General | Posted 14 years agoI’m changing my fursona to a dumbo fancy rat. I feel that rats suit me better, and I didn’t like the fact that griffins aren’t even a probable anthro (since, you know, griffins don’t exist).
