Milestone Celebration - 100 Pounds Lost
General | Posted 12 years agoI haven't really talked about this online very much, but I'm so pleased with something that I really wanted to share. In March of 2010, I started a weight loss journey, This week, I reached a pretty impressive milestone of 100 pounds (~45.4kg) lost.
I'm not proud to admit that I started at 295 pounds. Even standing at 6'1", that was pretty awful. As of this writing, I'm 194. I'm still overweight at this level, but it's much closer to manageable than when I started, and it's still a world of difference from those dark days. I've gone from a shirt size of XXLT to just L, and my pants went from 44 to 34 (though I'm just about ready to try 32). If you happened to meet me at FC, I'm either 20 or 30 pounds lighter than I was when you last saw me, depending on which year it was.
Though this was an important milestone for my resolve and self-esteem, I still have more to go, and I intend to keep losing. I've been doing it the hard way, through calorie restriction by way of strict tracking and meal planning.
I guess that's all I have to report, really. If anybody cares, I'd be happy to answer questions, though I suspect this news is less interesting to most people than when I had Lasik. ^_~

Welcome Back, FA!
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm glad to see you all again! Now that the maintenance period is over, let's get back to all of the awesome art. I should have some really awesome stuff to share with you guys real soon, so stay tuned. ^^
Happy Independence Day, American Furries!
General | Posted 12 years ago(F5 to see how Slither celebrates!)
Today is the day we celebrate cheeseburgers bigger than our heads, stealing the culinary culture of other nations, spelling "color" properly, and all of the other stuff we get up to. It's not always great (could we maybe try not to kidnap foreign heads of state on their private jets any more? That'd be a good start. Maybe see about some more civil liberties while we're at it), but it's at least pretty good on average, and I sure do like it here.
To all my wonderful friends in other nations: Sorry for the mess. It's kind of rowdy over here sometimes. ^_~;
Try not to blow yourselves up with fireworks if you're lucky enough to live somewhere where they aren't banned this year because of the heat wave!

Wooo, 500 Submissions!
General | Posted 12 years agoHey, everybody, great news! I just posted my 500th submission! Come help me celebrate!
In other news, my gosh, have I really been in this community for 15 years? Time certainly does fly! Anyway, a gigantic thank you to each and every one of you for watching, commenting, and sharing all of the wonderful pictures I've been privileged to commission. Here's to another 500 commissions, and hopefully many more years to come!

Free Stuff! - Metro: Last Light (PC Download) [Closed]
General | Posted 12 years agoThe giveaway is now closed!
When asked for a random number between 1 and 8, inclusive, random.org supplied me with a 1, meaning that
Salano is the winner! I hope you enjoy the game!
Thanks for playing, everyone. This was fun. ^^
---
Hey, gang! You guys are all awesome, so here's a little gift!
Would anybody out there like a copy of Metro: Last Light? I have an unused code which can be exchanged for a Steam install key.
I don't like first-come-first-served offers, so if more than one person is interested, I'll hand it out according to a random number generator.
Just post here if you're interested. ^^

Happy 3,000!
General | Posted 12 years agoHey, gang!
I just noticed that I've somehow managed to reach 3,000 watchers, and you all know that means it's time for me to get sappy again. ^_~
I'm still totally floored that there are so many people out there interested enough in my cast, the pieces I commission of them, and my silly little descriptions to follow this account. A huge thanks to all of you who still watch, and even more thanks to those of you who comment! I never expected to have so much fun answering these comments, especially when they give me a chance to discuss all of the silly backstory information I cook up before getting commissions.
You guys are all awesome. Here's to even more art to post in the future!

Jenny's Cameo in CinderFrost!
General | Posted 12 years agoAnother silly exodus, but I'll be right here!
General | Posted 13 years agoAnother drama bomb is making a bunch of people bail out to other art sites again. I just want to let you guys all know that I still love you, and even though I haven't posted anything in a little while, I'm not going anywhere. My FA gallery is still my primary presence on the Internet, and that isn't changing any time soon.
In fact, there are some simply delightful pieces in the pipe that I should be able to post fairly soon. I hope you'll all stay to see them!

Highlights
--The ADP was fun, even though drunken hecklers are one of my least favorite things in the world, and I was sitting really close to a particularly obnoxious one. Seriously though, people, we need some more lady dragons in this panel!
--Thabi presented in the ADP, and had a piece involving Slither. When she was a little coy about the character's name, a couple of people in the audience called out "Slither!" It wasn't like the whole room shouted my name or anything, but it was still a really cool moment. Plus, Kiteless took a moment to ask if I was in the audience and point me out. What a neat little bonus!
--Seeing the reactions of normal people on encountering the furry crowd for the first time. One moment in particular involved a man in a business suit who walked into the Marriott with his head down, fiddling with some luggage, and who stopped absolutely dead in his tracks to stand there slack-jawed.
--Reflecting on the unusual trip had by the swarm of girls there for some kind of volleyball tournament. It was neat to see some having their picture taken with the fursuiters, though.
--Hanging with Fossil was great. That is one classy dude, you guys.
--Watching Thabi get her first tattoo ever from Fossil, who had set up a miniature studio in his hotel room.
--A small handful of people recognized me from my badge. It's always pretty surreal when that happens!
I'm sure I've left out so many people and experiences, and I'm sorry to everyone who has slipped my mind. This is the tradeoff for not annoying everybody with daily progress report journals, I guess. ^_~
All in all, FC 2013 was a really fun experience. It was my second time attending any con, and I'm looking forward to not making it the last.
I have sooooo much art to get scanned and shared with you guys. My gosh, this is going to be a bit of a chore!

Arrived at FC!
General | Posted 13 years agoWe have arrived in San Jose and checked in to our hotel room. I'm looking forward to all of the fun, seeing old friends, and perhaps meeting some new ones.
Don't worry, I'll only put up one summary journal this time, when I leave. ^_~

Happy New Year! (Plus boring stats)
General | Posted 13 years agoHappy New Year, everybody!
This is the time of year when I thank all of you, all presently 2,649 lovely people, for watching me. Thank you for participating in all of my silliness and giving me a place to share my characters and their (usually porny) adventures. I'm well aware that you could all get pretty much everything I post from other places, and it's awesome that you come and watch me anyway. Maybe you like my goofy little stories, or the chance to talk to me, or maybe you're just lost. ^_~ Whatever the reason, it's great to have you. Here's to an awesome 2013, with hopefully even more fun pictures to share!
---
Now then, as promised, here are some stats that I'm sure only interest me! Here's a quick glimpse at my top five submissions by favs.
1. 276 favs - Sterk's New Friend 1 By Tsampikos
2. 268 favs - Eastern Dreams Color By Sefeiren
3. 266 favs - FGS Squish By Sefeiren
4. 265 favs - Jessi By Sefeiren
5. 234 favs - Home Movies Page 1 By Syrinoth
For quite some time, Jessi has reigned supreme as my most fav-ed piece, by a pretty wide margin. This year, it was finally passed up by Eastern Dreams Color's slow advance. FGS Squish slipped by shortly afterwards, and then Sterk's New Friend 1 came roaring in and passed everybody a mere two months after being posted. Meanwhile, poor Pregn'Ette, an old favorite, was pushed off the list completely. I never thought I'd see the day that Jessi in the changing room would lose the number one slot, but here it is at number four! Funny, huh? ^^
You might make the case that the number of comments a piece gets is a better indicator of popularity. Either way, that sounds like a fun thing to track! Here, then, are the top five by comments.
1. 72 comments - Little Helper By Sefeiren
2. 71 comments - FGS Squish By Sefeiren
3. 66 comments - Safety Lesson 1 By Sefeiren
4. 60 comments - Bashful Birdy By Sefeiren
5. 57 comments - Reinforcements Have Arrived By Sefeiren
Each of these is super adorable, and totally deserves their place in the sun. ^^ It was a joy to see the response from you guys that each one of these got, and to participate in the discussion.
Anyway, I guess that's it. Maybe somebody else out there enjoys stats just for the sake of stats and will get a kick out of this.
Thanks again, everybody, and Happy New Year!

I don't care who you are or what you do or don't celebrate (atheist here!). I just hope you all have an awesome day. ^^

I will attend FC 2013
General | Posted 13 years agoHey, gang!
I'm not going to do the big meme this year (it's a little fursuit and sex-centric, don't you think?), but I did want to say that I will be going to this upcoming FC! I'll be attending with
Caedere and
Thabi, and hopefully hanging out with those two plus some of the awesome people I met last year. I'll try not to go as commission mad as I did last year, but I'm sure my tune will change when I'm actually confronted with the opportunity to hand money over to my heroes.
Anybody else plan on being down there? ^^

General | Posted 13 years agoNo politics here, just porn!
General | Posted 13 years agoEverybody prepare for the flood of election results journals! You're not going to get one from me this year (I'm sure you guys can guess my views by this point), but I am going to celebrate with a new submission! Have a look!
Also, you guys are totally not even ready for the Gale and Gloria piece that's in the works right now. It's going to be so pretty, you can't believe it. ^^

General | Posted 13 years agoI don't want to give up FA, but I might as well get my name, right?
Update: Thanks, everybody! I got a bunch of responses here and in notes. I'll go down the list responding until one of the offers comes through. You guys are awesome!
Update 2: Thank you to
ignacious who got me the hookup! :D

Update 2: Thank you to
ignacious who got me the hookup! :DArtists: Anti-Sniping Auction Rules Benefit You!
General | Posted 13 years agoArtists who run auctions! I want you guys to know that I love you and I love bidding for your work, but you are cheating yourselves out of your well-deserved money if you don't include a simple anti-sniping rule in your auctions! This is a PSA for all of my slot/YCH/adoptable/whatever selling friends.
My claim: An auction that ends in a last-second bid robs you, the seller, of money.
Fix: Add this one simple rule to your auctions! "The auction ends when there have been no bids for at least 10 minutes after the close time."
Justification: The purpose of an auction is to find the person willing to pay you the most money for your product or service. If your current high-bidder is sniped at the last second, he has no chance to raise his bid in response. Even if he is willing to pay much more money than the sniper is, he is unable to do so. You've directly lost money!
Real auction sites like eBay use a proxy bid system which lets you set the maximum amount that you're willing to pay for something, and the system auto-raises your bids up to that amount in response to other bidders, which prevents sniping as long as you set your max bid truthfully. That can't happen in an auction run via a forum, like FA.
Having a late bid extend the auction time allows people to offer more money in response to other bidders, which is the way that auctions are supposed to work in the first place.
Imagine this scenario: You're running an auction for a YCH piece in a pose that I find very desirable. I have a little extra fun money laying around, and like the pose so much that I'm willing to pay up to $200 for it. The current bid is $50, so I kick it up to $80. Two days pass, and I'm spamming refresh on your auction posting as the final seconds tick down. Moments before the auction closes, someone bids $85, and I can't post in time to raise before the deadline. I'm still totally willing to get in a bidding war with the other party up to that $200 level, but the auction has been subverted by your strict adherence to the deadline. You're out $115 and I'm out an awesome piece. The only winner is the guy who cheated both of us! D:
Don't let this happen to us, my friends! Get the real amount that your work is able to fetch, not an artificially depressed pittance!
That is all. <3

Airplanes! Sheesh!
General | Posted 13 years agoHey, gang!
I'm catching a plane bright and early in the morning, and I'll be jetting around for most of the day. My long-time watchers know that this means I am currently a nervous wreck and you must now all suffer a moment of sappiness.
You guys all rock. Thanks for allowing me to share my characters and all of my silly little ideas with you. If I make it to my destination safe and sound, I will post a really fun picture tomorrow evening to celebrate. ^^
Update: Hey, what do you know, I made it in one piece! As promised, please enjoy this awesome picture and join me in celebrating my continued lack of death by plane crash!

Hey, We're Back!
General | Posted 13 years agoHey again, everyone! It's always a bummer when FA goes out for a while, but we're back live again and I have some more good stuff to share with you all real soon. What did you all do while we were down? Anything fun?
I don't know if I'm watched by anybody responsible for the upkeep of FA, but just in case, thank you for your efforts keeping this site going. I have much more experience with application development than I do with web-facing stuff, but I've done just enough to know that a site with these requirements is no trivial thing to keep operational, let alone responsive. It has really crept up on me over the years, but FA has become an important part of my leisure time. These outages are a reminder of just how much fun I have around here, so thank you all very much for keeping them as low as you do.

Thabi is taking iron artist slots!
General | Posted 13 years agoHey, gang!
My friend
Thabi has just opened for Iron Artist slots. They're cheap at $15-$35, and she has a 24-hour turnaround on the work. This is the person who made that neat Lizanne that I posted recently. Maybe look her up if you're in the market for fun and quick pieces!

Even in a bad venue, VNV Nation rocks
General | Posted 14 years agoThe acoustics were all jacked up, and Ronan's mic was way too quiet, but man, what a show! He can really work a crowd, and Control is every bit as amazing live as I expected it to be (though Streamline is still better!).
2,000 Watchers! You Guys Rock! :D
General | Posted 14 years agoWoo, fun news! After FA came back up from the maintenance outage today, I saw that I had reached 2,000 watchers. Cheers to
Madoo for being big number 2k! I'm sorry I'm not an artist, dude, so I can't do the kiriban thing and draw you a little something. Thanks all the same, though. ^^
I'll try not to get all gush-y, but I wanted to celebrate at least a little bit. It's still hard to wrap my head around the idea that there's two thousand of you out there who like what I have to show enough to watch my account, especially when you can get most of what I post from watching a handful of artists. My mind still boggles at the idea that there are so many of you out there who even know who I am, let alone care enough to subscribe. Thank you to each and every one of you for letting me share my characters and show off my commissions. <3
I know that the vast majority of you are most likely just here for the porn (it's okay, I would be too!), but there are some of you out there who seem to get a kick out of the characters themselves. Any time someone posts a comment on one of my submissions that makes mention of a character's personality, it puts a big smile on my face. I still welcome the basic "that's hot" comments too, but having people respond to my silly little descriptions and back-stories is just so cool. Thanks for caring. ^^
I've been a little light with posts lately, but as of this writing I have sixteen pending commissions that I'm looking forward to sharing. Stay tuned, and we'll keep having plenty of fun!
Madoo for being big number 2k! I'm sorry I'm not an artist, dude, so I can't do the kiriban thing and draw you a little something. Thanks all the same, though. ^^I'll try not to get all gush-y, but I wanted to celebrate at least a little bit. <3
