Posted 9 years agoYeah I took a necessary break from FA. Honestly kind of forgot about it for a little bit? But I realized I need to have a permanent gallery besides tumblr and for the all the problems FA has, it's still been a positive community for me to be a part of.
I've been doing a lot of pet portrait-y stuff and furvilla stuff and will have some good content to upload shortly (I'll do one or two a day so I don't flood your inboxes). I am open for commissions, please send me a PM if you're interested and we can work something out.
I nuked all the messages I had (there were over 30K submission notifications omg) so if you need me to see something please let me know.

I've been thinking a bit about FA lately..
Posted 11 years agoI've decided to continue posting art here, which is something I've been waffling back and forth on for a while.
I definitely disagree and disapprove of many of the choices the administration has made, but my personal experience on FA has been pretty positive. I'm definitely appreciative of the people who have been kind to me!
Weasyl will still be my main location. For a lot of reasons! I'll remain at FA as long as my time here remains positive!

Posted 12 years agoSorry FA! I'm really bad at keeping up with journals.. but. idk, I feel a little doing a little updating!
I'll be going back to school on 8/17, and I'm starting to get really nervous. For those of you who don't know, I've been on medical leave from university for almost three years from ongoing mental illness. I've been doing a lot of hard work in that time and I am finally ready to move on with my life. I'm going to be living in an on-campus apartment with my own room and I think I have the best shot possible at being successful. It is going to be a very stressful time for me, however. I had a lot of really bad experiences leaving school, and almost all of my friends abandoned me while I was going through my treatments and hospitilizations etc. I haven't really been around people my own age very much for three years! My friends I hang out with now are former co-workers and in their 30s-40s haha
The good news is (art wise) when I'm in school I doodle incessantly so expect a lot more art from me coming up..
I'll also be on vacation from 8/9-8/16 !

Design trades and commissions!
Posted 13 years agoAnybody interested? Design trades will be on a case by case basis! Just ask!
Commissions range in 5$, 10$, and 20$ levels.
A 5$ design will get you an existing animal or fantasy creature with a color scheme/design by me.
A 10$ design will get you a unique creature.
A 20$ design will get you a complex unique creature.
If you end up liking the design I did for you, for 20$ I'll make a complete reference sheet for it. 4-5 poses, information, different "forms" (quad,furry,human,monster) anything! :)

New art policies! (please read!)
Posted 13 years agoI was going to hold off posting this until I finish everything on my to-do list, but that might take a little longer than expected since one of my cousins is in and is taking up a good deal of my time. We're also goin out of town from Wednesday-??? Saturday? Maybe, IDK. Just don't be surprised if I disappear for a few days!
~ANYWAYS~
As soon as my cousin goes back to AZ, I will be committing myself full time to art- AS A JOB. That means I will be working eight hours a day on art, as long as I a queue. What does that mean for you? Faster turn-around and higher quality.
I am doing this for several reasons. The first being the fact that I cannot go back to school for the fall semester. I mentioned in my last journal that it would be against medical advice for me to do so, and going AMA is a terrible thing if you know anything about health insurance and stuff. BOO!
I need something to occupy my time and to help me practice skills I'll need to relearn and gain to return to school as a functioning individual. I will be looking for a job as well, but the economy is terrible blah blah and it takes longer to find a minimum wage job than it should. Especially one that would be appropriate for me and my particular situation. Until then, though... ART is my full time job.
I am running low on funds, and I personally pay for my weekly doctors appointments and medical bills, and even with insurance it's over 100$ a week. Commissions are going to become important, and something I will take seriously and professionally.
Some other exciting and relevant news: Once my new leopard gecko habitat and colony are complete I will be doing a few breeding projects.
I won't be doing it to make money, but more to occupy my time and my mind as I work on my health. Leopard gecko genetics are pretty fascinating and it would be a great learning experience. Also who doesn't love those little guys! They are precious. I will let you know more details as they come, but if any of you are interested in high-end leos let me know! I'll also be selling the offspring of my breeding fish! These include GORGEOUS angelfish, german blue rams, various corydoras, and possibly bristlenose plecos and beckford's pencilfish.
So my plan for my non-therapy related time is going to be spent making art and working with animals, which isn't a bad deal since these are going to continue to be my hobbies/side-businesses as I "grow up"
SUMMARY:
Art is now a full time job for me. (8hrs a day with weekends off)
Commissions are open and will be open for a while!

Posted 13 years agoYep, I’m opening commissions to raise funds for my reptile projects hehe. I’m going to be building my leopard gecko a new 55g habitat along with a couple of ladies and it’s going to be pretty elaborate! It’s going to be awesome, but it’s going to get expensive fast!
Anyway, I’m pretty flexible with commissions. If you don’t see what you’re interested in below just ask me and we can work something out, I’m sure!
As I said, if you want a particular art style/media/subject/etc., but don’t see it listed above, please ask!

Commission Guidelines:
1. I have the right to refuse subject matter I’m uncomfortable drawing
(don’t be afraid to ask, though! I don’t do porn or “extreme” fetishes, but I will do (most) tame fetishes, pinups, nudity, gore, etc.)
2. Typically I like to finish a commission BEFORE receiving payment. I’ll shoot you a note or comment saying that I’m finished, with a small detail shot of the completed drawing, you send over the owed money,
and I’ll send the completed piece to you! If you want progress shots or a “sketch approval” stage that can be arranged. I want you to get what you want!
3. For plush commissions, I need to receive half of the payment prior to starting because of the price of materials
4. Paypal only please, I’ve had many bad experiences with snail mail ;n;

Posted 13 years agoUm so I'm (kind of) out of the hospital and as you can see I'm back way earlier than expected.
We had some huge issues with insurance and finances and everything SOOO
I'm going to be in PHP (partial hospitalization) for at least the next two weeks, probably more IDK
GLAD TO BE HOME THOUGH!
Had to take several flights today to get home and I'm quite tired but I am doing better(ish), so that's good
IDK I'm kind of rambly but not really I just wanted to let you guys know whats up
I'll be around(ish) and I'll let you know when I begin work on my owed art
I'll be gone to Arizona for the next week or so visiting family. I will have my phone on me though so I won't be without internet haha!
I do like going out west on occasion
(though the east coast is WAY BETTER WINK)

Posted 13 years agoI'm officially going to a psychiatric hospital in Illinois on Feb 4th. We were planning on going Jan 21st but they haven't called us back in a couple of days because of a snowstorm (snow what is that) so.. yeah
I'll be gone anywhere between 3-6 months.
I'm kind of really terrified! Which I guess is to be expected from someone with a severe medical phobia but I know I have to do this to have a chance at getting better. So I'm going to go, and try to be strong. Honestly I think if I get past the first day it'll be downhill from then on and I know I'll learn to cherish my time there. The terrible part of the first day is that I have to go through a full medical exam, including bloodtests.. Which is freaking me out so much. I know everyone says it doesn't hurt but I'm not bothered by the pain! Honestly I'd rather cut my arm myself and be like "here have your god damn blood". Soo I'm really having a hard time with that, I'm going to be on loads more meds and stuff (xanax u__u) BUT ANYWAY, besides that I'm trying to be really positive, just.. I wish I could fly up there right now and have them do the med exam, the waiting is killing me.
But it's going to be so great when I get back and I can live again! That's all I'm really thinking of. GETTING BETTER, coming home and doing all the things I haven't been able to do for the past two years. I know I'm never going to shake my illnesses completely, but I need to get them to a manageable level.
As for art I owe, I'm really not in any condition to be making art for other people. It won't be up to my standards and I'm not going to half-ass my way through things that should take time and energy. I will however be uploading one more piece of personal art.
Yep, this is a goodbye (for now!) journal. I'm really not sure when I'll be back, but when I am expect a lot of art! I'm going to take several sketchbooks if they allow it and draw in them everyday.

YEAHHH I know I don't have many watchers on this site yet (duh, because I haven't posted any furries yet lolol) BUT just letting you guys know that my commissions are totally open.. and since I have to quit my job today because I'm moving back to Raleigh soon for schoolin, commissions are going to become a lot more important haha. I need monies for food and stuff. <3

I'm pretty out of the loop here, so could you guys suggest people for me to watch? friends, idols, anything! I just want to dive into this site head first hehe
Also could you guys post some references? I really need to practice drawing anthros and stuff~
and converting my feral characters into furries is harder than I thought it would be lol, so I definitely want some established characters to practice on
