Posted 15 years ago-Trying to complete a fic exchange with myriadolust off LJ by tonight, since she finished her half of the deal and it was generally epic.
I agreed to the exchange mostly because she asked me. I really don't have much interest in doing it, since she and I are in the same fandom and thus compete for the same limited readership. She's good and it's not like me to friendly-it-up with someone of equal/greater talent within the community.
-I JUST got my BNF status for this fandom over Caelumi, and I really don't want to get another rival so soon. It's exhausting to compete with these people... There's so much backstabbing just to snag readers/comments.
I would quit, but I've too competitive.

Death Watch
Posted 15 years agoHe will wait until the end of time, and when time has ended, he will wait still longer.
The cool rain outside sends tendrils of fog creeping from the river and they slip into the tomb, ghosting over names and dates like chilled fingers grasping for a hold on damp grass. From a crumbling corner comes the steady drip of water, slipping through a crack in the stone roof and dropping to join its drowning brothers below.
The last safe place.
The dripping water makes a steady ticking sound, like the beat of a natural drum, echoing off long-crumbling walls and stone tombs, repeated a thousand times or more.
A living corpse, not completely out-of-place with the dead. He shudders in the corner, shudders and waits.
And he will always wait. Until the end of time. Until, finally, one day, there is nothing left to wait for.
Forgive me, his silence shrieks, filling the space with echos of sorrow. Blind eyes stare at death, watching, waiting.
Forgive me. I make no sound, but I must scream.

You Know The Funny thing About It (I Couldn't Answer)
Posted 16 years ago-Got invited by G to go to a pool hall downtown to see heavy metal bands perform.
I didn't know anyone in the hall but G, and he managed to avoid speaking to me the whole night, so it was socially terrible. However, the music was good, so I guess I moderately enjoyed myself.
-I asked J to go with me, but he was stuck at home with his crazy dad and his stepmom, as usual. Didn't even bother asking R, he never gets to do anything.
-However, going with J tomorrow to play DDR, which will hopefully be fun!
