i get federal funds to go to school. this semester, i got 600 some-odd dollars to spend on school supplies besides tuition. i spent at least $250 today on books and art supplies. i use the money to get ANY art supplies i want, because when i buy the kit of art supplies, i get 25% those AND anything else i bought that day along side them! so i got a bunch of new markers! these ones are tiny and perfect for tiny manga i like so much.

for the past two days or so (i'm not ACTUALLY sure how many says, as since i'm on break, my sense of time as COMPLEATLY disapeared. i never went to sleep last night AT ALL or the night before, i just sleep into till past noon. but anyway) i've been looking at the link of the days past, here, and then, when those seemed to run out, Fail Blog. if you don't know what it is, look it up. i've been having some extremely good laughs. there were times when i felt like i was dieing. i woke up today with my sides LITERALLY sore. i may be hacking up all the natural mucus in my lungs, too.

and i remembered a story. once upon a time, many centuries before jesus was born, a man died of laughing at his drunken mule trying to eat melons. D= i realized i've been doing the same thing, and maybe i should lay off the lols for a wile. though, there would be no better death than dieing of laughter. or perhaps when an old guy died of orgasm. that'd be awesome. yes, i want to die laughing my ass off wile having sex. that is now my life's goal.

i had the most kick-ass dream that my creatures i mass produce (one a week on a good month) on etsy were in my back gardin. and they were REAL! i saw the desert variety, Arenus.
ahem...:


i dreamed there was a dream companion in my back yard. i went out when the sun was setting and saw this thing perched on the back fence above the garden, looking up the street. at first glance, it appeared in the dimming light to be a big fluffy hawk with small antlers on it's head. i was like 'what is THAT!?' and i came closer to it. it turned it's head to look at me, it had slow, graceful, minimalist movements, like and owl. and i creeped closer, i believed it was a jacklope with wings (a mythical jack-rabbit with antlers). it was as if it was shifting it's form around. it let me get really close, and when i was just a foot away, it appeared to be a prairie dog with antlers and wings and extra slender ears and long black whiskers and large, bright amber eyes. it finally seemed to either get annoyed or loose interest and it turned in place and flew towards the sun. it had a long, fluzzy tail and it's whole body seemed to flap with it's clawed wings.

i was so disappointed when it left. i betted it would never come back. i KNEW it resembled a dream companion, the dessert-dwelling sub-species, but i couldn't understand WHY one would be in my back garden. then, something in the plants below caught my eye. there was a tangle of twigs forming a little nest near the ground. and in this nest was what i thought might be many eggs, or maybe small white pebbles. as i looked closely, a young creature appeared squirming in the nest, as if it was trying to be invisible to me. it was all eyes and soft, downy hair. i picked it up before it could get away so i could examine it more closely. it was super soft. it seemed to be some sort of possum. i took it inside to try to get some pictures. there are alot of videos on youtube of hoaxes or blurry images claiming to be 'new species' and i was NOT gonna make my pics be crap.

so i got inside and opened the baby's mouth to try to examine it's teeth. marsupials have two long, sharp teeth right in the front of thier lower jaw. but the baby's teeth were all pretty long and sharp, and though there were two on the front lower jaw like that, they weren't the longest. i had my hang clapsed around it pretty firmly so it couldn't get away. then it struck me that i was just imagining the creture, as i had never heard of anything like it. it had hairless wings tucked to the sides of it's body and a long fuzzy tail and a big head with big, bush-baby eyes.

i brought it to my sister and showed her my fist. it appeared to be empty, with my fingers closed around empty air. i said to her 'can you see this?' and she made a face and said 'no. see what?'. for an instant, i almost opened my fist, but then i concentrated and realized i could still feel the baby animal there. i then brought the creature to my mom who was doing her makeup in the dark. i asked her 'can YOU see this?' and held up my fist. she squinted and the creature began to fade back into existence and she said '.. well.. KINDA'. and then i could see it just fine. i asked her if she could help me get some pictures of it. the poor little thing was starting to get really stressed, so i didn't want to keep it much longer. i had taken some really poor one-handed pics of its' face and ears, but i wanted some good one's of it's wings, feet, tail and teeth.

i opened my hand enough to peel out and open one of it's little wings. it was grey like it's body but bald. a beautiful, flexible but ribbed membrane stretched through two or three delicate, nail-tipped fingers, excluding a lone long-nailed thumb and only a little bit of a shortened index finger. the membrane stretched down to it's leg and past it to half-way down it's fully furry, dark tail. it was unlike any bat i had ever seen. it seemed to be a winged lemur or possum of some kind. i never got a good look at it's feet which stayed tightly balled up and hidden in it's fur the whole time.

finally, i gave up getting some decent images or video and tried to take it back out to it's nest in the garden. when i got out there, i started saying to it 'where's your mama? hmm?' i looked in the garden and said 'oh, there she is, there's your mama!' but i looked again and it was just a post of rotting wood in the shape of the adult i'd seen earlier. i blinked and was like 'o.. kaayy..' and felt like the adult was tricking me and was watching me from somewhere.

i took the baby back to the nest, but now, it was just a swarm of red fire ants. they were all over, caked almost, to where the nest had been and they were eating and carrying off the white things i'd thought were pebbles or eggs from before. i think i got my dad to look at it. for some reason, he had ants all up his arm. he bent it and acted like they weren't stinging him. he seemed almost like he didn't know they were there or didn't care. eventually, i just put the baby down near where the nest had been but out of reach of the fire ants and hoped it's mother would find it okay.

i stood out side the garden and looked in. i then saw the little dream-companion kitten scurrying almost blindingly fast all around and through the vines. then i realized there must be two of them. they were looping around so fast, i realized i'd probably never catch one again.

anyway, that's the end. i couldn't stop thinking about it all day. every large bird i saw i did a double take. i told my mom this dream and asked her if she perhaps thought dream companions could be real and i just made them up based on the real ones i had seen subconsciously from the other side. she said she didn't 'know anything about THAT'. what do you think? i keep seeing them around in art people have made. characters that are basically bats with horns and long, stripped tails.
