Second, thank you friends for all of the support and encouragement on my badge commissions, and just for the support in general! I absolutely have this unfinished queue and a bunch of WIPS to tackle, but first lemme explain.
Straight up I have a pile of notes and msgs which are still currently unchecked and I can only imagine you guys are thinking WTF SNEPBECK WHERE DID YOU GO / DID YOU HYPOTHETICALLY DIE / ARE YOU TRYING TO ESCAPE SOMETHING?
I will absolutely be getting to all these messages to follow up directly, sorry for keeping you guys waiting for a response for WOW 10 MONTHS??? WTF IS WRONG WITH ME
I got a new job successfully and started in October on the 9th, I'm finally getting the hang of it but it's pretty information intensive and it was pretty darn busy up until just recently. SO I GUESS I HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE FUNCTIONING SOCIALLY WHEN MY SHIT HITS THE LIFE FAN and I just kind of dropped off without saying anything. I'm sorry for anyone who's been hurt or upset by this, it's not very responsible to open up for commissions and then just disappear (Mind you nobody pays for their commission from me until I'm fully finished but still not cool)
In all seriousness, if you're still waiting or art but you are no longer interested or you're just downright frustrated, no problem we can cancel even if I've already sketched something for you. If you DO want to still get a badge, then you have the patience of a saint and I'll be happy to chat it out, however I can't guarantee how fast the turnaround will be or how frequently I might be in contact (BUT I'M NOT JUST GONNA DISAPPEAR AGAIN)
The reason I was taking all those commissions as I bluntly described at the time, work was dropping off and I had to do something to make my bills while I was also job hunting. Thanks to y'all who commissioned me, I made it, and I still have my apartment and am still trucking along! I can't tell you how grateful I am. After all this however, I clearly see I am not a commission artist (Especially when stressed as fuq!) this whole badge thing is probably gonna be the last wrap for that, like ever in terms of doing bunches of them. Moving forward, I'd love to do more personal art and just get back to enjoying the fandom, maybe doing some art for/with friends and otherwise not trying to do professional business or produce batches of work. I try to be professional enough at work time to focus back on being a silly otter.
TLDR; thanks for commissioning me, i finally learned how to function at my new job, still gonna get in touch with people who were waiting for art, once that's done, time to resume fun otter-ing!
So yeah if you're on my list (omg not like a hitlist like the badge commission list) I'll be getting in touch with you over the next bit to see how you'd like to proceed with the art thing, and we'll go from there!

Since April I've been working like the max hours I can at the pet store (OH BOO LIFE IS SO HARD WAHHH THESE DOGS ARE SO DIFFICULT TO PET) lol and also this summer I made an effort to enjoy the now, spend time w people around me and just do life and stuff.
BUT NOW IT IS GETTING COLD, NOW I AM SO DONE WORKING SO MUCH RETAIL PET STORE BLEH, NOW I WANNA ACTUALLY MOVE FORWARD WITH STUFF!!!!!!

I plan to get more active with creative stuff and start making something of myself, I really love my boss and my coworkers but retail work is a dead end haha who woulda thunk. I cut my hours back a wee bit, because I always feel too... t i r e d to do my own shit lol maybe im just an unmotivated wimp. Money is stressful and my bills are pretty high but I'm really proud of what I've got... My apartment feels comfortable, I enjoy my space and there's so much potential here. I wanna spend more time in my home working on my own endeavours, doing is always the hard part tho lol
so I kinda have some plans that I wanna share with whoever cares to read lol
I've been developing a Patreon account for the past like.... year lol I'm not sure how everyone feels about the patreon thing but I have some ambitious ideas about it, and I don't wanna launch it until I can really assert myself to create new content for it like.... ideally every day lol
I was kinda curious to know, if you care to share,... how much, stuff (textile, digital, paint, ink, multimedia, rendering etc), do you create in a day? Just client work? Warmup stuff? Sketches? Studies? What kinda combination of stuff do you drive yourself to create every day, and like, how many things do you complete in a day? Do you post it all? also how much do you typically sleep lol
It would be cool to have myself personally organized and to create like,.... 53000% more content than I do right now.
Maybe I just feel like I'm not doing that much right now. And maybe I'm not. Time for a good ol kick in the butt.

I recently met a clever person who gave me the gift of knowledge
one thing they said was "set goals for yourself"
And I did and I will keep doing it
Set yourself small goals, big goals, game goals, a series of goals or goals with rewards, see yourself achieving the things you wanna do and go for it.
And if what you want to do seems too far out of reach, start small, there's no harm in getting there little by little, you can take however long you want to get to where you want to be or what you want to do.
Do you ever look back in your journals like once a year? lol yeah me too I wonder what it'll be like reading this down the road

Hey its been a while
I moved recently! Officially live in a legit den eyyyy! Let it be known from now on as THE SEADAWG LAIR!!!! population otter and xxmaadx and yay roomies upstairs, honestly nice to be in a house with some noise haha
I also started school for 2nd year yay fun, while moving, and working a lot.. ohhhh
but I passed summer school YEAH TAKE THAT FINANCIAL MATH SUCKIT
At least I didn't get sick until after moving was done but HOLY SHIT EVERYONE GOT SICK UGH EW

For years we've been wanting to make a collaboration, & a project would be really helpful right now. It's still being tweaked, but I love it a lot and tomorrow we're gonna show it to the world.it's gonna be a supraiiise
Hnnnng we've been wanting to make a fursuit for so long
3 of us all together are working on it so I'm excited about having a smaller project, and it's gonna be epic in the big picture. Actual construction will happen in a bit, and who knows what this yeen could turn into..

THURSDAY
Started off with an awesome trip down with thundercolt and Xavier WHAT IS YOUR FA U POOPIDO CANADOGZU Which turned into an epicly hysterical visit with the border and a few short visits for gas, then we CANNONBALLED our way to the con! But not before going on an exasperated search for antiperspirant and acquiring some epic steak n shake (MMMM GRILLED CHEESE STEAK BURGER???? CANADA TAKE A HINT) and the con was off to a great start.
Quickly ran into and NOODLEZU'D THE doryuu PUPPY IN HIS NEW DOGGO HUAAAAA and proceeded to throw Coffee Crisp at various roommates in the suite (note: bring 3x as much coffee crisp next time to avoid POSSUMS EATING IT ALL UGH LOL) First night was an epicly awesome romp of finding people and jumping around and I managed to leave my roomkey IN MY FRIGGIN ROOM but thanks to the sweethearts i miss already

FRIDAY
I managed my way back to my room Friday morning, freshened up and began patrolling the con, and after meeting, hugging and softcore humping some precious babzu pups COUGH
smilingsammi I quickly found momma 
cynical-sergal and then 
yellowbeachfox where we paraded into chipotle and NOMMED INTO THE SUNSET while I drank my first ever Dos Equis (actually pretty great tbh) and finally found BUTTSHARK 
and then after sewing my tail on my butt and downing some alcomohawls courtesy of the booty shark (delivery service available! lol) I finally suited up and noodled about with mama! Prelims were pretty relaxed for me this time around, and I enjoyed the chance to compete! I was kind of glad not to be entered into the dance competition; I had my fun performing on stage and it took quite a bit of stress off my shoulders to be free'd of any more responsibilities for the con. BUT NOT BEFORE FINISHING MY SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT WORTH 30% OF MY MARK LIKE AN HOUR BEFORE THE ONLINE SUBMISSION CLOSED HAHAHAHHAHA Which, I got 90% on and my teacher said I did a very good job SOMEHOW LOL either way so happy I got to spend time with Cyn/Willow and WE DID HOMEWORK TOGETHER LOL AREN'T WE SO GROSSLY CUTE After all this homework buzzniss we quickly found 
got the party started and HAD AN EPIC TIME AT THE DANCE LOL
shout out to random dude in a business suit (NOT a fursuit) creepishly tripped out looking just hitting on chicks left right and centre LOL
The rest of the night was a hilarious combination of UNDENIABLE AWKWARDNESS followed by a HILARIOUS JOURNEY OF TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED, successfully remaining together in a group of 6 -7 for over 5 HOURS (UNHEARD OF WITH MY ATTENTION SPAN) and only ACCIDENTALLY WALKING INTO THE WRONG SUITE (Y'all brits and australians in the other suite on the 9th floor were awesome by the way, I'd love to accidentally stop by and share drinks with you next year!) and holding a successful trippadelic art jam in the lobby with beers scattered all over the place and police at the door not noticing a single damn thing. T'was a great adventure, I miss you all so much <3
SATURDAY
Woke up in suit in my chair bed, grabbed a cup o water and my room key, and quickly started ripping the con apart by 11AM. Found Willow and Tek_Fox <--- DO YOU EVEN FA LOL and we actually managed to successfully get drunk and GO EAT SUSHI (con bucket list achievement unlocked YESSSS) came back to con, TRIED NOT TO SWEAR AT THE ANGEL DRAGON MEET LOL SORRY MAMA and then proceeded to get exceptionally drunk. Drunken showers with dance music of choice are always one of my fave things at a con, perfectly followed by a cat bathinsuit and a tutu to get the night going. Pissed the heck out of the guy sitting infront of me at floor wars (I WAS REALLY HYPED AND I WASN'T IN THE FIRST ROW UGH) Ended up going to
recca_sen_li's set, falling off the stage and taking a light with me, and then 5 minutes after leaving his set, getting all upset thinking I missed it LOLOLOL Drunk otter had great time, got ID'd randomly with 
by con staff loooool but all was well.
SUNDAY
WOKE UP WITHOUT A HANGOVER YAAAAAAAH Dance comp was epic, so much great talent and
made me cry like a wee babe with those feels. Ate sum sandwiches, spilled some water, cried sum more, then before I knew it I was eating orange peels aggressively beside Beach and 
nitrox. Fast forward to trying frantically to relocate the duct tape and painters suit i forgot at the dance the night before, FOUND IT, began to duct tape buttshark while getting aggressively drunk off the birthday bottle of hypnotic, and couldn't even finish what I had started before Polaris comes over with a full blown ICE CREAM BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SNAPBACK" WRITTEN ON IT, I cried, I ate cake, I taped more, the cake was melting so we WENT ON A MISSION TO DELIVER THE CAKE TO WORTHY SOULS LIKE 
AND FRIENDS and 
who didn't even eat it when it was ice cream but DRINKING CAKE IS GOOD TOO LOL Ended up finding my way into a room with ALL OF THE SQUAKING BABES IN IT hugged lots, gave lots of otter keeses, until I got summoned back to finished what I started. 2 hours after starting the dtd on buttshark, we finally completed and cut him out!!!! The rest of the night was fun noodling and dancing and late night suiting and 4AM TRIPS TO STEAK N SHAKE WITH BEACH AND 
gummy-sweet and then almost passing out on the carpet and finally sleeping kind of.
Thank you Streaks for being so patient with me on the goodie exchange! Triple the amount of coffee crisp next time, promise

I miss you all so dearly, but will MOST DEFINITELY BE ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY TRYING AS HARD AS I POSSIBLY CAN TO KEEP IN TOUCH because for some reason although its not actually that hard it somehow takes the power of 9000 suns to get me to regularly text BUT NOW I HAVE HARVESTED THAT POWER AND WILL BEAM ON INTO THE SUNSET OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Most important thing I learned from this con: If you need to get shit done, if you don't want to loose people in the pack, if you need to pull distracted people away and keep them on task, always trust in MISSION MODE. How to use: Simply chant, in group fashion, "MISSION MODE, MISSION MODE..." while proudly charging to your next objective.
I'm telling you, if it worked for me (not sober in any way) it can work for anyone. I have faith.

Since September, I've been in college for Business! I'm happy to be learning and doing something productive tbh, I hope to keep it up and also work on art and stuff more frequently
I also moved out of the parent's otter den as of September WOOOOOO it's awesome, I feel like a irl adult and living with is pretty groovy stuff
With all of this upward momentum, I feel way more inspired to be active with art and stuff and with more social outlets
I hope to regularly start making art and stuff; both for myself and for my friends (hint, thats u). Mind you living on my own and everything now, I've actually been recently considering.... how do you feel about patreon? I had the thought recently to potentially start a patreon, and maybe feel more comfortable about doing art for ppl there like I have done here in the past (public stuff and random doodles will always be here and twitter) But other than that I just wanna draw more and also MAKE MORE SUITS

I haven't been up to too much in the community lately, just hermiting at home or working on other stuff (cough I'm sewin up a new bodysuit as we speak).
I've been drawing and tweeting a lot over on twitter! I feel like maybe I should post a little more of my bigger twitter doodles on here... which, by the way, is where I randomly offer complimentary friend doodles on a random basis lol I'm also more chatty on twitter so COME TALK 2 ME ya never knoe I'll probably respond !

I didn't go to AC this year :c but instead, spending a week with the otter family in Victoriaville, Quebec! (South of trois riviers if anyone wondering wherabouts) and so I'm here until Tuesday... in the mean time, if anyone nearby wants to hang, I'm super down!!! I can drive so no worries about small distances and stuff.

Before you read, this journal is TLDR; I'm just generally not in a good state of mind and feel way way way too much pressure doing custom art for the public. I like to do things differently and view this fandom as a creative, low stress place; not a source of income. I'm upset about a lot, and this is my irrational vent. I need to do more for me, not for others.
It's more how I feel, not how it is.
In case you didn't know, I've been fighting with a shitty art block for a couple months now. I tried to muscle through it last month with doing a bunch of simple little badges. I think I did a total of.... 5? LOL
The art block beat me as far as badges go, and I've been doing just about everything I can to get past it or have a breakthrough.
I think I hit the nail on the head this afternoon, but it's kind of a salty realization...
It's a shitty thing to say because frankly, I've been making it seem like I'm a steadily functioning commission artist, who will do personal art for you at a price consistent with other art pieces. In reality, I AM A BUSINESS PERSON, and beyond that I like to expand my art skills in a comfortable cool setting. I've been in the habit of short spurts of consistent, custom "product" offers, ever since I started offering my art skills to the public. And I can absolutely see where it 100% falls in line with a steady "commission artist" who you can contact on getting a personal art piece, aka commission.
But I do not want that. So badly do I not want this that I have to say something, and try to change things.
I am a freelance artist, outside of the fandom, I will do professional commissions from time to time. At professional rates. do I want that here? NO. This fandom is a place where I want to have fun, do some art, meet amazing friends, go to cons, be a fucking animal, which frankly, so far, has been the time of my life. The last thing I want is to worry about "completing someone's badge" or "making someone's trippy art". I would like to occasionally do some badges for an upcoming convention, or doodle out some cool art on a free night for whatever a friend thinks it's worth. To be completely honest, I do not want notes or messages asking about how to get a commission or how much badges are or when I'll be "opening".
And to be frank, if I were to be a "commission" artist, things would be a lot different around here. I would be charging professional rates, for instance, your typical quick badge would be something around $30, and a more detailed one around $60. I've put nearly my entire lifetime of leisure since I could hold a pencil into developing my craft. What I have been doing here is developing some cool art for some appreciative people at whatever it's worth to them. In quite a few cases, I've seen a decent percentage taking advantage of this it seems. This is a very specific reason why I have always pleaded that I don't do commissions, and that when I do art for others, the art comes first and for the most part I've never believed in setting a standard 'price'. I'm not here to make money, or be the best badge artist, or do the most badges, or anything like that. I just like doing odd art for those who appreciate, and don't mind getting a bit of cash for my effort. So maybe... maybe I'm just getting a bit of a bad vibe.
But I just want my personal freedom.
I don't want to feel the pressure to be professional, attentive, offer consistent service, updates on progress, I don't want the responsibility that comes with regularly doing art for money, as a commission artist. I never wanted that, but I feel like people expect that, considering 90% of users who do art for money will run their business this way. That's not me. I want the freedom, when someone notes me and asks, "Hey I was wondering when my badge is gonna be done I've been waiting a long time" to blatantly say LOL AM I UR FUCKIN VENDING MACHINE OR SOMETHING???? But that would be really really rude but at the same time I want the freedom to say 'no' as opposed to "oh sorry! I'll get it done right away!"
I don't want to owe anyone anything past maybe delivering an art thing THAT IS ALREADY DONE.
I'm kind of an ass, a bit immature, scatterbrained, and I don't really handle stress too well from peers. I wouldn't wanna commission me, so why would you? I also don't want the pressure from people I call friends.
I'm really, really sorry guys, because you're all wonderful, and I'm just difficult.
But I can't function this way. No amount of money or goodies makes me want to function this way.
I don't know if I'll feel right offering badges anymore, at least, not in the way I have been. I don't like the idea of taking slots, having a minimum pwyw 'price' for art, or really offering any kind of art in exchange for money if it gives the impression of a 'commission artist.'
I don't know what's gonna happen from here on, but I need to focus on my own piece of mind, and doing art that I like, rather than what others like. But I also like doing art for others from time to time, but I do not absolutely nope nope nope not want to be a vending machine. I don't know guys, I just had to say something.

I am a freelance artist, outside of the fandom, I will do professional commissions from time to time. At professional rates. do I want that here? NO. This fandom is a place where I want to have fun, do some art, meet amazing friends, go to cons, be a fucking animal, which frankly, so far, has been the time of my life. The last thing I want is to worry about "completing someone's badge" or "making someone's trippy art". I would like to occasionally do some badges for an upcoming convention, or doodle out some cool art on a free night for whatever a friend thinks it's worth. To be completely honest, I do not want notes or messages asking about how to get a commission or how much badges are or when I'll be "opening".
And to be frank, if I were to be a "commission" artist, things would be a lot different around here. I would be charging professional rates, for instance, your typical quick badge would be something around $30, and a more detailed one around $60. I've put nearly my entire lifetime of leisure since I could hold a pencil into developing my craft. What I have been doing here is developing some cool art for some appreciative people at whatever it's worth to them. In quite a few cases, I've seen a decent percentage taking advantage of this it seems. This is a very specific reason why I have always pleaded that I don't do commissions, and that when I do art for others, the art comes first and for the most part I've never believed in setting a standard 'price'. I'm not here to make money, or be the best badge artist, or do the most badges, or anything like that. I just like doing odd art for those who appreciate, and don't mind getting a bit of cash for my effort. So maybe... maybe I'm just getting a bit of a bad vibe.
But I just want my personal freedom.
I don't want to feel the pressure to be professional, attentive, offer consistent service, updates on progress, I don't want the responsibility that comes with regularly doing art for money, as a commission artist. I never wanted that, but I feel like people expect that, considering 90% of users who do art for money will run their business this way. That's not me. I want the freedom, when someone notes me and asks, "Hey I was wondering when my badge is gonna be done I've been waiting a long time" to blatantly say LOL AM I UR FUCKIN VENDING MACHINE OR SOMETHING???? But that would be really really rude but at the same time I want the freedom to say 'no' as opposed to "oh sorry! I'll get it done right away!"
I don't want to owe anyone anything past maybe delivering an art thing THAT IS ALREADY DONE.
I'm kind of an ass, a bit immature, scatterbrained, and I don't really handle stress too well from peers. I wouldn't wanna commission me, so why would you? I also don't want the pressure from people I call friends.
I'm really, really sorry guys, because you're all wonderful, and I'm just difficult.
But I can't function this way. No amount of money or goodies makes me want to function this way.
I don't know if I'll feel right offering badges anymore, at least, not in the way I have been. I don't like the idea of taking slots, having a minimum pwyw 'price' for art, or really offering any kind of art in exchange for money if it gives the impression of a 'commission artist.'
I don't know what's gonna happen from here on, but I need to focus on my own piece of mind, and doing art that I like, rather than what others like. But I also like doing art for others from time to time, but I do not absolutely nope nope nope not want to be a vending machine. I don't know guys, I just had to say something.

I wanna save up some MONAY to get some nice fursuit supplies for my own projects.
Buuuut I think I have some intense art block, so I kinda just wanna offer like, quick headshot pieces aka badges without names on them hurrdurr. I like the price range thingy I did last time so here it is for this round!
-YE OL' PRICE RANGE METER-
LEVEL1- $1-4 ~ You will receive a sketchy flat-color headshot of your character, like dis wun
LEVEL2- $5-10 ~ Kept relatively simple like dis wun
LEVEL3- $11-20 ~ More detail! liek dis wun
LEVEL4- $21-35 ~ Yo character gon' have one hell of a trip liek dis wun
LEVEL5- $36-50 ~ SO MUCH DETAIL!!!!!! Eligible for a Double-Sided badge! EXAMPLE
BOSS LEVEL- $51+ ~ I'll basically be your B%#@&... and spoil you rotten. You can imagine how awesome your badge will be :O
You may notice; the lower the level, the quicker it'll get done (these are not gonna be done first-come-first-serve style, but rather I'll pick and choose which ones I wanna take on :P)
Also, I can't guarantee how they'll come out; They might not look quite like the examples! If you happen to not like it, you are of course exempt from the follow up of payment... No harm no foul!
