With the coming new year I will be starting my own business making animal based dream catchers. Each web will be custom made, with pictures added as they are made. With every dream catcher, I will ask what the animal means for you, the person ordering the web, whether you follow the traditions of a specific culture, or several, or if you simply want fur, teeth, claws, feathers, etc. representing the animal (or from the animal where legal). These are some of the meanings of animals, and what materials would most likely be used, and this list will be added upon as I go and as I am asked about different animals, and see a need to add more. You do not have to just pick something from this list when you want to order a Totem Catcher.
If you have a fursona you would like a totem catcher of that has specific markings, or unusual colors, I may be able to make you a fursona catcher! I know, this isn't new news, I've been engaged for like 2 years now, but the wedding is 12 days away!!! So, I can already tell, I am getting no sleep tonight. And it's only midnight here. How do I know? A few hours ago (I didn't look at my clock, didn't have time) I heard a small catfight outside of our window in the backyard. We have a feral colony, so I didn't think much of it and it didn't seem to bad, so I let it be, thinking someone got too close to another cat's kittens or something. Then I heard another fight, and another. Each was small and didn't last long, but they were getting closer together. So I threw on my glasses and ran outside to check. When I got there, I saw Munchkin, one of our fluffier cats, seeming to fight with her own tail, hissing and biting at it. She just had kittens yesterday, so I knelt to look better.
That's when I saw her kittens. Apparently she hadn't cleaned them well enough or something, so when they dried, they stuck to her fluffy tail. When she came in the yard to eat, they came with her. They got caught on a couple of things, and rather than slow down and try to free them, it scared Munchkin and she tried to get them off quickly. Two of them came off almost as soon as I walked out there, and it freed her enough to run out of the yard, two kittens still dangling from her tail. I checked on the two kittens I now had with me, neither seemed harmed, just scared, so I took the two of them in to my fiance to hold and keep warm while I went out to try to find the remaining two. I found one more under a boat we have in our back yard startled the mother with the kittens in the boat (did I mention we have too many kittens right now?) and took this third kitten in to my fiance.
After an hour and half or so of more looking with a flashlight, I saw neither the fourth kitten, nor the mom, so I came in to feed these three tiny kitten with a bottle. They took to the bottle right away (and my fiance was glad to have his hands back) and it didn't take long for them to start to get comfy. I found a small box and put a t-shirt in it for a little more warmth, and put the three girls in there. They have names, now, so we can have a little easier time telling who has eaten and who hasn't, and they are Goatee (the biggest, who has a white chin and one side of her mustache white as well), Spectacles (who has light rings around each of her eyes), and Racer (the smallest who has a racing stripe going up her nose). We will be taking them to a shelter tomorrow, and if the shelter has room for three newborn kittens we will leave them there. If not, we will alternate staying up to feed them so everyone gets some sleep.
And please, before I get any hate about taking them to a shelter instead of raising them myself, listen to a few of the facts. My fiance and I are planning our wedding for later this year, so money is a little tighter than it could be because of that. On top of that we have a feral colony that we feed and take care of that we are trying to get fixed, and since we have around 25-27 kittens counting these four, you can guess at the numbers for the adults, so even if we get discounts on getting all of them fixed, it will be quite a bit of money, so money is tight there. We also have to feed all of the cats, whether we get them fixed or not, which is a permanent money drain. We have also taken a few of the cats into our home for various reasons. My cat, Mockingbird (who we lovingly call Idjit) has a deformed front paw and was abandoned when he was a few weeks old. His girlfriend, Isis, was the runt of her litter and the only black cat in a sea of grey and grey tuxedos, so she was picked on. We took her in and the two of them bonded immediately. Our oldest cat, Misty, came to us from the house across the street, home of a couple of boys who didn't understand that cats feel pain too, so Misty and her brother Fuzz came to us for shelter. Misty is my future mother in law's cat that is indoor/outdoor, and Fuzz stays next door with Papa (my fiance's grandfather) and guards his workshop (Fuzz is too longhair to stay in our house as Mom is asthmatic).
Ollie, Larka and Blaze are the next bunch in our house, they are siblings. They were born in our house to one of the most people friendly of the colony, we took her in for her sake while she was pregnant and although she returned to the colony, they have stayed in ever since. Larka has a home lined up, once my friend is settled, and Blaze is going to have a home we hope. Ollie will probably stay, but he gets along with everyone. The next group is an oddball set, Longshot was an only kitten that was picked on and came to us for shelter, which she got, then we found two kittens in our driveway, one of whom found a home, the other, Sea, stayed with us and she joined Longshot. Then we found another kitten, Fog, and he joined the two girls. We are hoping to find homes for Fog and Longshot, and we will keep Sea with Ollie.
On our property we have what used to be the servants' quarters. We use that house (the little house) as storage. We had a bunch of the cats in there, but Papa kicked them all out (or tried to at least) and all that was left was three females. Two of the females are very people friendly, Powermotor and Sheba, but the third is one of our most feral, Mouse. Sheba managed to not get pregnant this season, but Powermotor did and had five kittens, who I was mistakenly thought were all male, but instead are all female. Mouse also got pregnant, and she had four kittens. Mouse will be caught as soon as her kittens are old enough to be apart from her, as we do not like being hissed at and attacked every time we try to feed them. Whether we will take her to a shelter knowing she will be put to sleep, or if we will let her out with the colony after being fixed is yet unsure. We will take some of the nine kittens from the little house to a shelter, as they are at least used to people.
When it comes to the rest of the feral cats and their litters, Fuzzy Bagheera has the oldest kittens, Lucid and White Socks, and we will most likely take Fuzzy Bagheera to a shelter as she is mostly people friendly. Fuzzy Momma has three kittens, Oreo, Cookie, and Double Stuff, and if we can catch therm than Oreo and Cookie will probably go to shelters. Cute Nose has two kittens, and all three of them will most likely go to shelters as well. Buffy has either three or four kittens (we know of 3 for sure, have seen 1 other once in bad light) and we are not sure if they will stay or go yet. Two sisters, Fog and Cross, are raising one litter together, as they both gave birth but one of them abandoned their kittens and they got taken to a shelter. They have either two or three kittens (again, bad lighting) and they will probably be impossible to catch. Fire is the only female outside who does not seem to have gotten pregnant this season, and we think she is too small to go into heat (she is full grown, but several inches shorter than her sisters, Cross and Fox. Isis is about the same size and has never gone into heat, even though she is around 4 years old). The males of the yard are Big Boy (who will probably go to a shelter) Twinkle Toes (who will stay) Ninja (who will be impossible to catch and will stay) and Tweedle Dee (there is a Tweedle Dum somewhere but she hasn't been seen in a while. He may or may not stay, he is still a bit young). We also have a few other cats who wander in and out of our colony, but most of them are male, and at least one is fixed (and at least one is not and has fathered a few of our calicos)

Over the past few months, almost every single one of our female cats has given birth. We are planning on and working on getting them fixed, but it is being postponed until after my fiance and I get married this fall. I don't want to hear any of you complaining about us putting off fixing them, we have been waiting to get married for two years, the cats only started growing so rapidly in the last year. To inform anyone who is trying to keep track (which actually includes me, writing this will make it so I can go back and figure out who is related to who in the next few years) the mothers and their kittens are as follows(from oldest kittens to youngest as best as I can guess):

Fuzzy Bagheera has two, Lucid who is male and solid black, and White Socks who is gender unknown still and a fuzzy black and white tuxedo.

Fuzzy Momma has three, all gender unknown still, Oreo is the bravest of them and is a black and white tuxedo, Cookie is less brave but is also a black and white tuxedo, Double Stuff is the most skittish and is a black and white tuxedo with a lot more white than any of our other black tuxedos.

Powermotor has five boys, and we had a geeky fun time naming them, The Master is a grey and white tuxedo with a thin white blaze, The Doctor is a grey and white tuxedo with a thick white blaze, Tennant has a black head, front legs, and tail, grey body, and white tuxedo markings with black on one toe and his chin, Harkness has black from his head down his back, front legs, and tail, grey body, and white tuxedo markings, Bannakavalatta is the runt of the litter and is solid grey like their mom and has a tail that is kinked in about five spots (has been since birth) so his tail curls around to one side.

Cute Nose has two, both gender still unknown, we haven't named them yet, but they don't come where we can see them very much. Both are grey and white tuxedos, and the braver of the two has a somewhat thick blaze on it's nose, and the more skittish has a thinner blaze.

Buffy has three (I think, they are the most recently discovered and I had to count by laser eyes from flashlight) and to the best of my knowledge one is solid grey and the bravest (came towards the flashlight), one is tuxedo looked black and white, and the third is the one I saw the least but it seemed to be dark with at least one light front leg (I called it a jester)

Mouse has four, all males, Phantom is the most obvious and is a grey and white tuxedo with one side of his face white including one ear, Quasar is the next most obvious and is a grey and white tuxedo with a thick white blaze and white cheek stripes making his face look like a pulsing star, the other two are unnamed because we can't tell them apart yet and both are solid grey.

Cross has two, both male, the larger one is Ash and is solid grey, the smaller one is Soot and he is grey with a black head.

The last two we aren't sure who the mother is, but we are almost out of females they could belong to, and the most likely is Fox, the slightly bigger one is Leo and he is an orange tabby that is just opening his eyes, and the smaller one is Panthro and he has a black head and a grey body and is not as far along opening his eyes.

These are our current 23 kittens and their eight mothers. I will do my best to add links of each mother and litter in the next few minutes, but I am going ahead and post it beforehand.

I want to say a few things about my cats. A lot of the cats are feral, or at least partially semi feral. They are, for the most part, born feral and born on the property, with a few exceptions that we can identify easily. The cats are on a regular feeding schedule and they get fed twice a day (and let us know if we are even five minutes late). We are in contact with a Trap Neuter Release program, and are in the process of preparing for a mass capture and fix. We have only delayed in this because of the sheer number of cats that we would be taking in, not only do we have to collect the money and be prepared for the capture and transport, the location that will fix them will need to be ready and able to take in the number of cats all at once. Otherwise we will end up having to catch and fix small numbers at a time, which not only will that take more trips, it will unsettle the colony for longer. Our cats are considered semi feral, not because they are abandoned pets, but because we have been working with them from as young as possible to make them people friendly. We spend hours outside playing with them, encouraging them to come closer and closer to people, some of the most playful actually getting to the point where they will allow the occasional petting from people. Others among the cats have gotten to the point where they don't care about people, allowing us to pet them, but only so long as we aren't interrupting them eating. A few of the cats are more feral, but that's mainly because of one of the former cats, Snakekiller, who was feral to the bone, hissing and spitting when people get within 10 feet of her. She poisoned a few litters of kittens against people entirely. Now that she has left the colony, though, the entire colony has gotten more people friendly. Our cats would not, as a whole, be happy if they were taken to a shelter, not only because they don't like people, but because of the sudden loss of space. The kittens that we currently have may be able to go to a shelter, if caught in time. All in all, our cats are well taken care of. They may not be spoiled, like a lot of indoor cats are, but they are fit, healthy, happy, they have things to hunt, things to climb, each other to be with, and people to care for them.

Hi everyone, I posted a journal a little while back seeing if anyone would be interested in animal based dream catchers, and now I have some money to buy the parts. I thought I would start with a journal talking about them with prices and everything, I don't want to buy fox fur and only get people wanting deer (just as an example). The first few are going to take slightly longer to ship out, as I will be buying the parts as they are needed.

A simple yin/yang web (which can be done in colors other than black and white) will be $10 at a four inch diameter. If you are interested in a larger or smaller size, send me a message.
A plain dream web of any animal totem will start around $15, although some animals may not be available to have their fur (depending on laws and stuff) but will be worked out on a case by case basis.
You can upgrade a web of most totem animals with a face (varying price depending on animal and color) or with a tail (again depending on animal and color)
If you want to know how much a specific animal at a given size and level would cost, you can either message me or ask on this journal. I will post pictures of each spirit web as they are made and sent out (I will try my best to give them time to arrive at the costumer first). Prices may vary depending on current market for given furs.

So, I make dream webs (dream catchers) for my fiance's family business, and I don't really like my job, love making the webs, don't like the designs they make. I had a really cool thought of making totem based spirit webs, making a dream catcher that has a specific animal for theme (wolf, fox, specific species of birds, etc.) using either parts of the animal (taken humanely from an animal not killed for that reason) or replicas of the parts (such as having claws or fangs for the centerpieces, tails or feathers for the dangly bits). Would you be interested if I started making them? If so, what species should I start with, what would be a good price? I would sell them on Etsy when I make them, and I would offer a custom piece if I don't offer your species or your color, although they might take longer to get together.

1. We all know what we call you, what about the folks at home? Whats your name?
Erin, Snowy, Snolo (snow leopard became sno leo which for one friend became sno lo)

2. How tall are you?
5'6" I think

3. Natural hair color? (if you can remember it)
brown when inside, more red when in the sun, although the last black dye job seems to have darkened my hair color, not that i'm complaining, but the one month hair dye has lasted almost 5 months now

3. What about eye color?
brown with a fair amount of green, depending on my mood (sometimes just dark brown, sometimes brown with green, sometimes almost caramel brown)

taken by a caveman

6. What do you do in your spare time?
my fiance runs a couple of tabletop rpgs, so i am always running around getting references for characters, helping him come up with plot twists, etc. and I also try to draw a lot, and read a lot.

making dream catchers for my fiance's family's family business

8. What's one thing you like about yourself?
my creativity

my inability to sit still, and my lack of personal money

can't sit still, A.D.O.S. and the fact that I like to pick people up

was raised southern baptist, but turning away from that recently, I still believe in God, I just don't believe in the church anymore. If you note me questions, I will do my best to answer them

12. Do you drink?
yep, but not everyday, not even every week sometimes, I just like the taste of strawberry daiquiries ^_^ aside from that, when we have friends over to drink at a party, I volunteer to be the bartender, I have fun making the drinks, more so than I do drinking them(for the most part)

13. Do you smoke?
most I have ever smoked in my life is Hookah, which is fun and awesome, no cigarrettes, no cigars, etc.

14. What are your fears?
that my family was going to be really messed up (I was adopted and only met my birth mother and brother and sister this past year)

Spiders and other bugs that sneak up on me (glasses make spotting them not the easiest, if I can see the bug on the other side of the room, I am fine with it, if it is on my arm and I didn't see it get there, I will freak)

15. What are your dreams/goals?
I want to eventually get the feral cats in my backyard all fixed, as well as find homes for the kittens we currently have,

love the narnia movies, but then again I loved the books

veggies, especially okra, brussel sprouts, and spinach

don't drive, I don't like driving, but I will be getting my license sometime in the next year because my fiance cannot drive due to medical issues, and one of us needs to be able to drive
