Posted 3 months agoHey everyone, I'm planning a fanfic based on Arania and Usducktape's IoDM TTRPG, and I'm devising my own takes on the serum varieties. One of the ones I've got planned is mer, but I need to know one thing: WTF is "mer", exactly? ELI5 below, please.

Posted 5 months agoFor those of you who haven't been paying attention, Usducktape has finally released his IoDM TTRPG, based on Arania's sadly unfinished online RP that ran on Gaia Online between 2005-07. You can buy it in digital form from itch.io (https://usducktape.itch.io/iodm) and in both physical and digital form from Indie Press Revolution (https://www.indiepressrevolution.co.....Dr-Moreau.html) - go check it out, and show Arania, Usducktape, and everyone else who helped work on it your support!
New IoDM TTRPG needs some love!
Posted a year agoOne of my favourite TF things out on the internet is an old online RP inspired by H.G. Wells' "Island of Dr. Moreau" that ran on Gaia Online from 2005-07 (https://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/br.....561/t.9279157/), created and moderated by some of my favourite artists, Arania (https://arania.kamiki.net/, https://www.transfur.com/Users/Arania, https://www.deviantart.com/arania and https://www.furaffinity.net/user/arania/), Kamiki AKA Foxyfussings (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/kamiki and https://www.furaffinity.net/user/foxyfussings/), and Trinantula (https://www.deviantart.com/trinantula). I heard it sadly ended in 2007 after some kind of argument. However, it has the chance to come back in a new form as a TTRPG via Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....r-moreau-ttrpg), but it needs £15,978/$20'000 before Sun, June 9 2024 at 3:57 PM BST to get funded. I feel that IoDM needs a chance to come back, so. show Arania's project some love and head over to Kickstarter and help make the new IoDM become a reality! Also, to meet all three of its stretch goals, the project needs $29,000/£23,124.60 - it's currently at £6,951 as of today (13/05/2024)!
Update (18/05/2024): With 22 days to go, the Kickstarter has hit 50.21917286068229% of its funding goal, at £7,905/$10,044! Keep that support coming for £22,834.48/$29,000!
Update (30/05/2024): The Kickstarter has hit £10,017 of its £15,754 goal with 9 days remaining! IoDM needs that final push to get funded, so open up those wallets!
Update (14/06/2024): The Kickstarter is over! It managed to reach its funding goals, at $22,754! It didn't make it to any of its stretch goals, sadly. See you on Isla de las almas perdidas (Island of Lost Souls) in September!
Update (05/01/2025): I hear that the IoDM TTRPG will drop sometime this month - the art for the book is almost complete!
Update (29/03/2025): I've heard from the creator that after some delays, the IoDM TTRPG has finally hit the printers!
Update (01/06/2025): After a year's wait, the IoDM TTRPG reboot's now available in physical and digital formats from itch.io (https://usducktape.itch.io/iodm) and Indie Press Revolution (https://www.indiepressrevolution.co.....Print-PDF.html)! See you on the Island!
