So I've uploaded a whole pile of presh drawings. To try to prevent much confusion, I refer to cats as 'presh' (pronounced preesh, it doesn't rhyme with fresh).
I call my own cat that, and subsequently i just end up calling all cats that.
So that's where the 'presh' bit comes from. Strange? Sure. Anyway....

For those of you still watching me, I am still alive.
I think it's been about a year since I last posted. I've been kind of busy, and I haven't had a scanner. I have been drawing quite a bit, but haven't really bothered to try an get them scanned somehow. However, I just got a new scanner and i'm hoping to get some new work up.

Posted 17 years agoThere is a Buddhist mantra that suggests that when you are about to say something you should ask yourself ‘is it true’ and ‘is it helpful’.
I love this mantra. It has stopped me from saying a lot of things that, when I think about it, really are not helpful at all. At the same time, it has also stopped me from sharing a lot about how I feel and what I think about things. The way I see it, am I really doing any good by stating my opinion about something? I know what my beliefs and opinions are, do I really need to share them? I know in the past I have posted quite a few rants here. They have mostly been about subjects I’ve been very passionate about. That said, where they ever really helpful? Probably not. The result has either been that people have commented who agreed with what I said or disagreed. For the people who already felt the same way I did, what was the point other than learning someone shares my opinion. And for the people who disagree, it just opens up the possibility of getting into some kind of argument that cannot be won. People who disagree with something passionately are unlikely to quickly change their mind about it. So again, really, is there a point to sharing thoughts and opinions? Maybe. I’m just saying that for me, I’m not sure how ‘helpful’ it really is.
That said, I came across something today that really upset me, and I guess I felt like writing about it. And, making it public. I guess I’d like to know what other people think about this issue. However, sticking with the ‘is it helpful’ mantra, if you totally disagree with what I’m about to write and you think I’m some kind of stupid retard for having this opinion, then please don’t bother writing to tell me so. That definitely isn’t helpful.
I have a very big problem with sexism. There are two reasons for this. One, I am a woman, so it does affect me and my life. And two, it is one of the few prejudices which seem to get over looked. I think it is a bigger problem then most people realize. On a personal note, I grew up believing that I needed to be male to be cool, play sports, like ninja turtles, read comics, play video games, etc. When ever I would day dream about myself on an adventure, I imagined I was male. It was only years later when it occurred to me, that I could still do all these things AND be female. Since then, I’ve realized how much of our culture really is sexist and carries the belief that roles and activities are gender specific. A couple of years ago, I took a psychology course about gender differences and apparently it has been found that when the term ‘men’ is used to describe the human race, young girls think it excludes them. So they believe certain jobs or roles just cannot be done by a woman. Well I can confirm that, as I grew up with that very problem. However, I guess it’s either something we don’t really think about, or there isn’t enough motivation to change it.
Not to sound sexist myself, but I find it hard to believe that men would find this to be much of a concern. It doesn’t effect them, so why should they care. Sometimes I think that men don’t realize how hard it really is to grow up constantly trying to fight against the belief that your gender makes you inferior. Women try to fight to prove themselves, and are often met with ridicule or hate. If a woman succeeds then she is a whore, or slut, or stealing men’s rights, or whatever. If she fails then she was ‘put in her place’. These are, of course, blanket statements. I’m sure not all men feel this way, or that all women feel this way either. This is just my personal experience and observation.
So then, the second part of my issue with sexism is how readily it seems to be ignored as a prejudice. The expression ‘you throw like a girl’ or ‘that’s such a chick thing to say’ or when a guy walks up to a group of men and says ‘hey ladies’ (which is meant to be insulting), it is often accepted and over looked. If I said ‘that’s such a black thing to say’ or ‘you’re acting like a jew’, I would think it would raise much more of an issue. People gasp at the word nigger or kike, but would happily make fun of their buddy for throwing like a girl. All three are meant to be insulting, but only one is acceptable.
This brings me to what I found today that really bothered me. There is a site called menarebetterthanwomen.com. The whole site is dedicated to teaching people, both men and women that men are, in fact, superior in every way to women. The guy who started the site has even written a book stating this opinion. It seems that some people claim it is just a big joke, but it certainly doesn’t seem that way to me. I looked at some of the articles and read some of the comments and it just seems like a breeding ground for hate.
He tries to state that men are better than women by using absolute blanket statements. Like saying something like ‘all women hate sex’ or ‘all men know how to solve problems’. In one of the articles he claims that a bit of information he was stating was from a man. He hadn’t heard the fact before, but because it was from a man, he was going to take it at face value for being true. This was because, as he said, all men have what is called ‘integrity’.
I would love to cut into all the problems, contradictions and fallacies in his arguments, but I’d hope it would be like preaching to the converted. (In other words, I’d hope you realize how stupid it all is). Instead, I’d like to admit that I actually cried when I was about 10 minutes into the site. Why? Because it was a blatant expression of just so much hate toward what I am. The comments were the very worst. Any woman who was commenting was attacked by being called a dumb cunt and being emotionally unstable. She would be accused of being hysterical and irrational. Yet the very comments left by the men were worse. Hateful, spiteful and full of irrational responses like ‘women masturbate because they are fat, no man wants to sleep with them, or they are just cleaning out their viginas’. Basically, there was no intelligent conversation. When a woman spoke, whether calmly or in anger, she was received the same way: treated like a stupid moron with nothing intelligent to say.
I’m sure most people would see this site, roll their eyes and move on. Clearly it’s full of morons who just love being angry and calling people names to make themselves feel better. But again, why is that our response to something like that. If I directed you to a site called ‘jew are trash’ or ‘whites are better than blacks’ would it be the same? Do you think a book could be published and sold at barnes and noble called ‘jews are trash’? Would you just shrug and suggest it was just a joke and something to be laughed at? Probably not. If you did see something like that in a book store, would you protest it? How would you feel if the reaction you got was a chuckle and a pat on the head while you were told to settle down about it and not act so irrational?
I guess that’s all I really have to say about it. So maybe writing all of this wasn’t very helpful. But I think the spreading of hate and prejudice of any kind is even less helpful.

Oddly enough, what i'm about to do is re-have an old contest that no one seemed to be interested in over on DA. I can't remember but i don't think i advertised it here (and i'm too lazy to check).
Anyway, maybe like two very powerful forces canceling each other out, the awesomeness of a contest and the incredibleness of snoots resulted in disinterest and ennui rather than ultimate excitement to enter the contest.
Blah blah blah. Anyway, here it is.

I had a very very rough summer and things kind of grinded to a halt in my life for several months.
I am trying to get back into things, so I hope to get some new work up soonish. Sometime.... Eventually.
As for the people who have asked for trades and commissions from me, please don't think i just fucked off and forgot about you. I still have every intention of getting them done. It will just take time. Please be patient.
I hope you all enjoy the one drawing i've managed to start and finish in months. It's snoot AND Halloween themed!!

My first tagging...
Posted 18 years agoA while ago I was tagged by, I believe Kadath to do the 6 things people don't know about you. I had planned on doing it, but then got busy and never did. But now here I am up too late at night, bored and lazy, and willing to do it.
However, I think the tag actually states 6 things NOBODY knows about you. Well I won't be sharing any of those things because then they won't be things that nobody knows about me anymore. I've got my secrets you know! So I'll just share things that I believe that the majority of people onine probably don't know about me.
6 Weird things that nobody knows about you?
1. I LOVE pigeons madly. I can't get enough of them. I will let my breakfast burn on the stove in order to sneak in a few more minutes of watching the pigeons outside my window.
2. I have the tendancy to refer to animals by the noise they make. So I call mice 'squeeks' and birds 'cheeps' and sheep 'bleats'. Although I do call cows 'squares' because they are square......and I call crabs biscuits.....
3. I have an oral fixation. I will stick just about anything in my mouth. You will often see me with my fingers in my mouth. I probably look like a stupid douche.
4. I have hundereds of dollars worth of....questionable toys...
5. I pet bumble bees in the summer.
6. I have synaesthesia.

For the first time in 20 years I am not a student anymore. It doesn't really feel all that strange to me. But that might change as soon as I get a job (which might be soon).
Anyway, the point is that now I hopefully have more time to finish trades and commissions and other fun stuff. I will also be populating my real website soon and my final film will be uploaded there for all to see (how embarrassing).
Because I have been so busy with my school work, I am sure that I have forgotten a few of the trades/commissions I said I would do.
If you can (and you are reading this) can you please just remind me?

Happy Earth Day

Well, just a reminder that it is!
I will spare you all an environmental rant, but it is important to recognize that the well-being of the environment and the conservation and respect for our resources isn't a left wing, hippy tree hungging idea. It is vital to all life. We tend to think that we survive seperately from all other things on the planet, which just isn't true. So be kind to the place that keeps you alive.
In the spirit of earth day, I thought it might be fun to mention a few earthy tips/factoids. Feel free to post your own too, I'd love to hear them!
-90% of all waste in landfills is recyclable
-It is already possible to make 'disposable' plates, cups, utensils, napkins etc that are fully biodegradable in green boxes. These could all be used by fast food places and restaurants (check out greenshift.ca)
-If the USA had spent all the money they did on the current war (2.2 trillion) on producing windfarms instead, their energy needs would have been met by 150%
-The expression reduce, reuse, recycle is in that order for a specific reason. Always try to reduce first and recycle last.
-Uh....the earth is round....like a snoot. that is a fact!
Ok, hope that was somewhat interesting. As for some other news, I am almost done school! After I'm done I plan on doing loads of fun new drawings. I also plan on uploading the film I finished as well. It is about a dandelion. I really wanted to do a fun snooty picture for both easter and earthday, but this final crunch has given me no extra time. But you will most likely see them soon. I must admit, the snoot easter drawing for this year is pretty damn cute!

Something fun and not a rant...I swear!!!!
Posted 18 years agoAs some of you may know I am a die hard Erasure fan. I just saw my first Erasure concert two summers ago (I waited 11 years to see them!!) and it was amazing.
Anyway, they are coming out with a new album soon and their new single is already out. Some fans ended up making an unofficial fan video for the song, which is kind of cute. I will play selfless promoter and post a link here. Yay Erasure.

Posted 18 years agoSo, I personally feel that there should be a level of etiquette when fighting people on a PVP server. Yes, I know that if you make the decision to play on a PVP server, you should know that you always run the risk of getting killed by another player. However, I don't think sneaking up on someone while they are busy fighting a mob and using that to your advantage to kill them is respectable in any way. It doesn't show how good you are as you are needing the help or the monsters to kill the other player, it also most likely pisses the hell out of the person you just killed.
There have been countless times where I have seen some alliance player busy with a mob, and I just mind my own business. Yet I am repaid moments later by them running up and killing me. Do they really think that I didn't see them and that's why I didn't kill them myself? I personally have found gnomes to be the worst for this kind of behaviour. I have never seen a gnome not go out of they way to kill me.
Now, as the journal title says, this isn't just a rant, there is a question too.
Tonight I was just minding my own business killing some stuff in Felwood, when I noticed a silver dragon enemy just my level. For anyone who doesn't know, if an enemy has a silver dragon around the name, it will most likely drop some fun stuff. So seeing that this guy was my level, I figured he'd drop something fun that I could probably use. However, as I am trying to kill him and some other furblog that ran in too (something I'd have no problem handling) I notice this stupid little guy behind me. At first I thought it was some kind of minion the silver dragon guy summoned. Then I realized it was a dwarf rouge who had come up behind me who then killed me. Then he proceeded to kill the guy I was trying to kill and took the stuff himself. He was a level under me, and I still knew I didn't stand a chance.
Later, I went back, hoping he wouldn't be there as, with rouges, you cannot see them, because they can go invisible. So I figured he was gone, until I heard fighting. There he was! Fighting a mob of 3. So for the first time since I got this game I thought 'to hell with it' and I was going to be an ass myself and kill him while he was fighting. He was already half dead and being attacked by 3 other monsters, so I figured it would be an easy kill. Plus I knew if I just let him do his own thing, he would definitely just kill me shortly after. I got him down to about 1/4 health when he, like, broke off the fight. He was no longer targeted by me and the monsters he was fighting turned to fight me instead (I think this is something called 'disengaged'??). But I wasn't going to let him go, I started to chase him and suddenly he put on a burst of speed and was gone. I had NO way of catching him after that AND I was still being chased by these other monsters.
So, on to the question. As you might know, I am a Tauren warrior. I have noticed that almost every other character class has some kind of trick that boarders on unfair. They can go invisible, disengage from a fight, get bursts of speed, have a pet of minion that can fight for them, slow or freeze another player while moving, can heal while in battle and other such things.
As a warrior, I have none of these things. I don't have a pet or minion, I cannot heal myself except with potions (which you can only use once every 2 minutes) I can't get a burst of speed or go invisible or sneak up on someone or stun them except for by chance.
So, why is it that it seems like Blizzard has given the other class types such crazy stupid advantages and left the warriors behind? Or, have I missed out on some amazing warrior skill I didn't know I could get? I do everything I can to avoid fighting other players, even duels, because players of a different class even of a much lower level than me can always kick my ass. I often can't even get a single hit off. And because with warriors you need to build up rage, you need to get a few hits in before you can even dream of getting status effects on them.
Well, that was my rant and question. If anyone knows how to make a warrior player even semi useful for PVP playing, please let me know. Or if you know why Blizzard has left the warriors in the stone age, let me know too! Oh, and try to be at least semi courteous when deciding to fight another player. It might save many a key board from being smashed
There have been countless times where I have seen some alliance player busy with a mob, and I just mind my own business. Yet I am repaid moments later by them running up and killing me. Do they really think that I didn't see them and that's why I didn't kill them myself? I personally have found gnomes to be the worst for this kind of behaviour. I have never seen a gnome not go out of they way to kill me.
Now, as the journal title says, this isn't just a rant, there is a question too.
Tonight I was just minding my own business killing some stuff in Felwood, when I noticed a silver dragon enemy just my level. For anyone who doesn't know, if an enemy has a silver dragon around the name, it will most likely drop some fun stuff. So seeing that this guy was my level, I figured he'd drop something fun that I could probably use. However, as I am trying to kill him and some other furblog that ran in too (something I'd have no problem handling) I notice this stupid little guy behind me. At first I thought it was some kind of minion the silver dragon guy summoned. Then I realized it was a dwarf rouge who had come up behind me who then killed me. Then he proceeded to kill the guy I was trying to kill and took the stuff himself. He was a level under me, and I still knew I didn't stand a chance.
Later, I went back, hoping he wouldn't be there as, with rouges, you cannot see them, because they can go invisible. So I figured he was gone, until I heard fighting. There he was! Fighting a mob of 3. So for the first time since I got this game I thought 'to hell with it' and I was going to be an ass myself and kill him while he was fighting. He was already half dead and being attacked by 3 other monsters, so I figured it would be an easy kill. Plus I knew if I just let him do his own thing, he would definitely just kill me shortly after. I got him down to about 1/4 health when he, like, broke off the fight. He was no longer targeted by me and the monsters he was fighting turned to fight me instead (I think this is something called 'disengaged'??). But I wasn't going to let him go, I started to chase him and suddenly he put on a burst of speed and was gone. I had NO way of catching him after that AND I was still being chased by these other monsters.
So, on to the question. As you might know, I am a Tauren warrior. I have noticed that almost every other character class has some kind of trick that boarders on unfair. They can go invisible, disengage from a fight, get bursts of speed, have a pet of minion that can fight for them, slow or freeze another player while moving, can heal while in battle and other such things.

Strange Animals
Posted 18 years agoIt must be obvious to many people that there are a handful of very popular animals to transform into furry characters!
Although many people attempt to make modifications to create something more unique (like a yellow raccoon.....).
What animals do you think would be fun to see furries of? And what animals do you think would be impossible to make a fun character from? Like is it possible to make a fun sponge character?? (and yes, sponges are animals )
Maybe you could take up the challenge and try to make the most unique animal character ever made!

It's a fun enough game. I still think getting stunned is a pain in the ass and having to run back to your body doesn't really add to game play at all.
However, and I know tons of people will probably disagree with me on this one, I think the female characters are totally lame. Except for the female taurens, every other female of a race just looks like a female human with different colours and maybe long ears or teeny tiny fangs. Why does this bother me? Well first, they come up with all these cool races and put all this work into their designs, then they just seem to cop out on the female designs. Second, I often cannot tell them apart. Female trolls from a distance look just like female night elfs. A bit of a problem if you need to know what race you are about to run up to. Now, I'm sure the reason why they did this is because for the most part, human beings cannot seem to stand the idea of a humanoid female looking anything other than a stereotypical beautiful human woman. Is it because we won't find them hot if they look otherwise? You don't always need to be turned on by your video games. I think it would have been totally cool to see a big burly orc female, or a long nosed, big tusked troll female. Anyway. that's just my beef. And damn, does everyone look small when you are a tauren. Woot squares! (....I call cows squares.....because they are square...)

Just a few things to mention. I am super super busy with school so it had become very difficult for me to finish or even work on anything none school related. Also, FA is being funny. I'm not sure if it's the site or my computer, but it's very difficult for me to view comments and submissions. So I'm not being a hermit who doesn't post or reply anymore, I just can't right now.
Also, because I've been so busy I know I've forgotten some trades and possibly commissions that I've been asked to do. If you are one of these people who has asked for a commission or to do a trade with me, PLEASE note me or email me the trade/commission. I'm not a jerk, I've just lost or misplaced the info (losing all of my old notes didn't help at all). I can't promise that any trade or commission will be done soon, but I will try my hardest!
And again, I am slowly working on a Honey portfolio. Please let me know if you are interested, or have any ideas for it. I've got 5 sketches so far, I'd like two more.

You can have a snootified version of one of you characters or someone elses. A drawing of Snoot or any of his friends. Or anything else you can think of. Though any adult themed snoot drawings will not be drawn, mostly because they just wouldn't make any sense. Does Snoot really look like he's about to get down and dirty???
Also, I'm willing to colouring either by hand or computer.
I figure $20 should cover any snooty drawing that has up to 3 maybe 4 characters in it. However, if your request seems extra complex, then I'll have to raise the price a bit.

Also, I've got a snoot contest going on over at DA that doesn't seem to be getting any feed back. So maybe here over at FA people will be more interested in entering.

Posted 19 years agoI'm not much of a journal writer. I don't think a whole lot of people read my journals anyway.
However, there were a few things I wanted to say, so I'm posting them.
First, thanks to everyone who is watching me and have commented or favoured my work. I do appreciate it lots. I worry that people might think I'm a bit of a jerk because of my lack of commenting, favouriting and watching. Trust me, I really am not a jerk. I don't often have time to reply or sort through piles of new artwork. And the reason why I don't favourite things is mostly because if I see something I really like, I download it to my HD. Please don't take me not commenting, replying, not watching, or not favouriting personally.
I really like it here on FA. People seem really friendly. I just want to make sure I'm not coming across as a complete asshole
Also, It seems that my snoots are rather popular here. I wasn't going to post my snoot work here. I was only going to use FA as a site to post all the work I don't/can't post on DA. However, I've decided to post trade or commissioned snoots here if they were requested by people on FA.
I've decided to do 5 free snoot requests for first come first serve. After that, it will be by trade or request only. So be quick if you want a free snoot!
EDIT: Holy crap!! That didn't take long at all. Sorry, all five requests are filled.
