Some of you may remember the journal I posted about my pup of 13 years. Today I had to make the hard choice to put my baby to sleep after finding out he was in a horrible state for 5 hours. We didn't have enough money to try a surgery of any sorts so it was the only way to end his suffering.

I want you all to know I will not be working on commissions for the next few days as I kinda pull myself together. Any donations/commissions would be lovely since I had to use my money for my car insurance to cover the cost of the euthinasia since there was no way I was just going to let him later there as he was in so much suffering.

What do you mean you won't take "small" commissions? It is exactly that. I will no longer offer cheaper/small commission starting may 1st. From now on I am ONLY doing fully rendered commissions.

But Snow, why would you do that? Don't you realize you'll have less commissions? Yes, but lately I am really hating working on my commissions. My YCHs are starting to go only at the SB price, the only commissions I seem to be getting are for flat colored sketches and.. It is just really zapping me of all my inspiration and love of commissions.

Well, if you are only doing fully rendered pieces, what are your prices going to look like? Well my prices will be between $100-$200 for most commissions. This may seem a lot higher than my other commissions but I feel my gallery looks a total mess. I don't want to just have my gallery full of sketches and such, I would like people to get my full effort no matter what they get, and that is so hard to do when I only get paid enough to spend 1-2 hours on your commissions.

So, as my lovely watchers/friends/commissioners/silly peeps I got some questions!

1) should I bring back my hourly commissions?
-for more info on the hourly commissions... they would be done in a stream (id make sure to save the stream so you, the commissioner, can view it later if you are unable to join the stream, but also as proof of how long i took.) I would probably charge $25/hour, and you can go up to 6 hours on a commission. Since this is an hourly rate, you can request as many characters and a bg you want, within reason of the hours you want to pay. (ex. 3 characters + bg in 1 hours = nope)

now you are probably thinking
But Snow, isn't that waaay lower than your normal commission prices? Why would anyone choose to get a normal one if they could pay to do an hourly commission?
Wow Timmy, Great question! well there would be 4 huge factors in the hourly commissions
#1 - absolutely no WIP or changes. Unless it is something I obviously messed up on (like your character's hair is green and i made it blue) then there are no changes.
#2 - I am able to use this commission as part of my patreon/promotional piece/etc.. (credit will be given of course to you as the character owner)
#3 - I will only be taking projects I actually like the sound of and have confidence doing.
#4 - I will only have a certain amount of "hours" available for said commissions. probably like 40-50 hours/ month or something.


2) not so much a question as it is an announcement but... commissions are going to be limited over the next few months
-con season is starting and that means i will have way less time to work on commissions. So i will be trying to limit those, ETA on commissions might also increase

hey everyone.

Some of you got to see my last journal, some didn't before I deleted it. Basically to just go over some things..

I'm really not in a good mind spot right now between Taxes, sales tax, and my sweetest little 13 year old pup going through a lot of medical stuff I am just about as emotionally beaten down as I can be at the moment.

So, with all this and trying to do commissions it's...really not going well. I am so stressed/sad over everything else that trying to force myself to sit here and draw yall's commissions and characters well is just....about all the stress I can take honestly.

So before I have a mental break down for the next few days I am going to do something I almost never do, and that is self care. I'm gonna draw some things I want to draw, im gonna just watch TV if I want to, drink teas, take my puppy Mocha for long walks that I am sure he'd love... I'm just gonna do the things that don't stress me out for a few days.

I know some of you have been waiting for your commissions for awhile, and im sorry... Litterly this month has been the shittiest month of the last 5 years for me. Found out I owed $700 more on my Taxes then I was originally told, found out I owe Texas WAY more Sales tax from conventions than I thought ( I somehow thought texas had a 7-8% sales tax in most cities like in Oklahoma, nope it's 10% in the ones I was in...doesn't sound like much but when you sold as much as I have it's a difference of like $1000....). Found out my dog scrappy who is 13 has heart disease and is having some great days, and some very worrying days, so I'm trying to go to my mom's to see him a few times a week....

Just yeah...Very stressful. I know many of your lives are probably way more stressful than mine, but please understand im just having a very hard time emotionally right now.

I will return to working on commissions on Monday, please se my trello if you have any questions as to where your commission is in terms of the process. If you have any questions you can note me and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

I am also sorry but with everything going on, I cannot give any refunds to anyone who might want one since I am dealing with all the expenses I mentioned before... your commission will be finished, just please be patient with me.

-you will submit your character you want me to draw in the comments. you do not get to choose anything about the commission, ONLY the character and if you want nsfw, sfw and what you are hoping to get. (Example : " -insert character link- SFW and I am hoping to get a plain sketch from you or something small like that)

A few things to note
-spots are unlimited, think of it like an iron artist
-PLEASE keep in mind what you asked for and how much you should pay me. You can look at my commission prices for an idea of what I normally charge
(example: you asked for a base colored sketch, then you send me $2 USD.. that's a dick move)
-you can ask for busts, sketches, line arts, chibis, full portraits, painty syles, etc.. etc.. kinda limitless

again, some good examples of a comment for this would be

As for why I'm doing this since I do need the money

I just adopted a dog on New year's and his expenses have been a tad rough. (Long story short, I adopted a chow puppy from a friend of mine when their father bought him for a gaurd dog. He was gonna be locked up, chained and kept outside or in a crate all day. When they explained to their dad that you can't treat dogs that way he was gonna just get rid of him somewhere but to adopt him I had to re-imberse him for all the expenses he spent on him already. Then his shots and his neutering where also in there)

But I'm giving him a nice loving home. Since I'm working from home we are going on walks and he's sitting with me while I work on commissions :) I'm opening up commissions to help pay for everything since between what I already have paid and will, it's gonna be a total of about $800.

so reguarding pricing on commissions there are so many ways I can do them, but I wanted to know the general opinion on commissions.

what matters most to you? Price, turn around time, quality, availability?

are the general rules right? So I want to know what you are more likely to pick.

for example, I do a lot of posters for conventions of series (like my albedo I uploaded recently). now that took me awhile of just strait work. So if I was to offer something like that as a commission it would be around the $300 mark just due to my time and effort. Not everyone has $300 to dish out on a commission though, and I totally get that. I want most if not all of my normal commission types to fall under $100 and for about half of them to be under $50.

I just want to know yall's opinion for what I start coming up with turn around times, schedules, etc.. :) if there is a type of commission you'd want me to offer, please mention that as well! im considering offering body pillows :)

Since I'm going to be doing art full time soonish I need new commission examples as well as prices... However I don't want to under sell or over sell my art so I need to figure out what types of commissions I want to do and how long they take me so I can get an idea of pricing.
