Posted 13 years agoFor the record, I AM still working on felties, including the commissioned ones. I'm sorry for the lack of updates, I had a spell of poor productivity due to stress from various meatspace problems. Vinyl Scratch is most of the way done, she's waiting on her hair. One of my sources of stress was the fact that Scratch's hair colors are really hard to get on Suri with acid dyes. >.< I tried a new technique for eyes with her, her eyes are printed onto fabric. Her eyelashes are felted, but her eyes aren't, which gives them more definition. The fabric is held in place by the felt around the eye. I like the look of it, but the fabric (a special fabric meant for printing) is very stiff and hard to get a needle through. I tried iron-on transfer sheets on some softer fabric and that will work better in the future, I believe. The appearance is pretty much the same, but it's easier to felt around.
Status update
Posted 13 years agoCommission status: Doin stuff
Waiting list: 12 people, closed to new additions (It's supposed to be 10 people!)
I've confirmed two commissions from the waiting list, one person hasn't gotten back to me and will lose their place in line if I don't hear back soon. I can really only hold places if a person asks me to, if they just don't respond it's not fair for others for me to keep them there. :/ I also got behind on my work because life got in the way over the past couple of days. So anyway, here's my current status:
Phere and Sagome: Yeah I'm still working on them! :P It's my fault for messing up on Phere, and it was my choice to redo him, Yojiro-sage has nothing to do with the delay. XD They're rapidly nearing completion. Sagome needs a teeny bit more dress fiber and her face marking, then I'll finish fluffing the angora fiber (IT'S SO FLUFFEH!) Phere has his tail fiber (angora) and I'm working on the rest of him today also.
Princess Luna posable: Man I'm gonna have so much fun on this one. \o/ Haven't started yet thanks to the above mentioned meatspace issues. Plan to make her armature today, and hopefully pad it also.
Renamon posable: Basically remaking my original Renamon, except I know what I'm doing this time. XD I have better materials and a better armature method, so I anticipate this one will look nicer and pose better. Also not started, but I like to make armatures in batches so hers will be made at the same time as Luna's.
Vinyl Scratch: Not much changed, since I'm trying to get Phere and Sagome finished up first. She has back legs, that's about it. XD
German Shepherd: Haven't worked on it much lately. :( I think it just needs a couple of toes, then I can do the dress fiber though.

Commission status: Contacting the waiting list
Waiting list: 14 people, closed to new additions (It's supposed to be 10 people!)
I'm about to contact the first couple of people on the waiting list. :D I also started a Vinyl Scratch to put on eBay, as an experiment. I figure I can sell a few things on eBay to help raise money for a drum carder, so I chose Vinyl Scratch as the first such thing. A drum carder would be really useful in my work, but I can't justify buying one right now. I'm still trying to help my family, though one of the family members that lost his job has since managed to get another one. We're not out of the woods yet though, and nothing is ever certain, so I'm not going to buy something so pricy (even the "cheap" one that I actually want) even if it is useful. For Vinyl Scratch, I used an armature slightly larger than Fluttershy's, just because. Her coat will be the usual short fiber merino, which I always have around anyway. Her mane and tail will mostly be Suri alpaca, but I also have a sample of blue angelina I might add in, since I think it would fit. :D I plan to make her glasses from felt just so they'll match. I don't think I could manage anything else without a lot of extra effort anyway. They'll be removable. If it were a commission I'd attach it with magnets, but I think I'll just make it pure felt. They'll stick to her face pretty well because felt sticks to itself anyway, kind of like velcro.
Current project status:
Phere and Sagome OCs: Focusing on them because they're behind. Phere has recovered well from his accident (read: I started over) but he still needs detailing, and a couple of toes. Not sure when they'll be done.
German shepherd for RL friend: Kind of looks like Phere at this point. o.o I can tell them apart by their tails. XD
Vinyl Scratch: Only working on her between other stuff. Bottom priority, basically. She only has the base polyester and a teeny bit of core wool. Barely started.

Commission slots full! (Temporarily)
Posted 13 years agoThanks so much to everyone who has commissioned me! I can only take a few at a time, so everyone that is still in the thinking about it stage, you're effectively on a waiting list (ie you'll get priority).
Here's what I'm working on now:
Two MLP style OCs
Fluttershy
Two canid OCs
German shepherd dog
In-progress pics will be posted in my scraps, with final images posted to my gallery, unless the people commissioning them say otherwise. Gonna make armatures tonight!

Commissions open!
Posted 13 years agoThis is gonna be short. I need to make some money to help my family more. That's all I need to say. I'm seeking commissions for needle felted stuff. By "stuff" I mean posable figures, floppy plushes, little figures, big ones, keychains, random Minecraft blocks, neck warming dragon snake things, etc. I'm not stating any limits or prices ahead of time, you'll have to tell me what you want and I'll tell you if I can make it and then we'll decide on a fair price together. I do have limits on what I can make (not sure if I could do a human properly, for instance, though it depends on the style) but it doesn't hurt to ask! Note me if you're interested!
Submission flood! Trolololo
Posted 13 years agoI decided to start this account back up, and put my finished needle felted stuff here. :D
Leaving FA
Posted 17 years agoJust a heads up that I'm going to delete this account soon. I have a lot of reasons for doing so, but I'm not going to go into them all right now. You can still see my stuff on Jaxpad and DeviantArt.
