Gone until October
Posted 3 years agoHey everyone, just another quick life update.
Things are slowly but steadily progressing and are looking quite good! But it has become necessary that I travel around for a bit for the sake of job interviews and all of the formalities of handing in my bachelor thesis. That also means that I'll be crashing on a friends couch for the rest of the month though, and I won't really be able to check any of my NSFW online accounts during that time, including this one. So don't be alarmed if I don't reply to anything for the next two weeks or so. Once I am back I should have a much better idea of when I'll be able to continue with my regular art uploading though.
I hope you all have a great time! I'll see you again soon!

Another quick update
Posted 3 years agoHello everyone!
It's been a while since I went on a semi-hiatus due to my upcoming graduation, and I wanted to let you all know what things are at right now.
Unfortunately there have been a few delays due to outside factors nobody could really control and I am still not done with uni as I had planned. But if things keep going as planned, I should be finished by the end of this month. Unfortunately I had to move out of my student dorms (they're limited on the amount of time you're allowed to rent them, to make room for the new students) and am currently living with family again until everything is wrapped up and I know where I'll end up job wise.
So yeah, things have gotten a little chaotic for the time being, and the near future is still a little uncertain. It's not too bad since I have a good place to stay and enough savings to take care of myself for a good long while, so things will be fine on that front. But there's a good chance things might get hectic again at the drop of a hat when I find work and need to scramble to find a new apartment and all of the associated stuff that goes with that.
So long story short, I can't quite say when I'll be able to return to a regular comic schedule yet, and I am sorry for the continued delays on that. I've been able to put time into some smaller art projects though which I have been collecting in the background, and I'll probably be able to show off soon. I don't want to promise too much yet, but I've been doing a lot with the four devil characters I introduced recently, and I am still looking for the best way to organize and present all of that.
So yeah, I am still around, I am still making art, I just haven't really found the time to work on my usual projects lately, hence the lack of activity.

Taking it slow for a bit due to graduation
Posted 3 years agoHello again, everyone!
I am just letting you know that I will be slowing down on comic uploads a little bit for the near future. The reasons are still largely the same as last time, I am in the middle of finishing my graduation, which comes with having to apply for jobs, moving house, etc. It's all going well and without any unexpected problems, but it just takes up a little too much of my mental energy to also focus on getting my comics done on time as well. After a day of reading and writing scientific papers, I'd usually rather play a game or draw some small scale spur-of-the-moment idea that's been floating around in my head. So for the next month or two, I'll be uploading my comics whenever they're finished rather than sticking to a schedule.
If things go as planned, I should be finishing my degree by the end of August. There might be some more hold ups related to job search, moving, and general getting accustomed to new life circumstances after that, but I expect to be returning to my usual schedule sometime during September or October. Until then, I'll probably be uploading more small scale one-off kind of art.
Thanks for sticking around and baring with these continued delays. Y'all are quite lovely! <3

Taking another weak for the next comic page
Posted 3 years agoGreetings everyone!
Just a quick heads-up that I will be delaying the upcoming this sunday's comic page by a week. A couple of real life factors have been slowing me down over the week and I don't want to rush it.
For one it is summer, and that's simply not the right climate for a snow-leopards to work in. Le has been overheating and asking me for constant breaks while I was drawing her. Secondly I am getting close to graduating and work on my bachelor thesis is ramping up, and I had to find out that doing actual real life science is a lot more work-intensive than writing about imaginary furry sexy "science" (but just as rewarding!)
I am doing well and I really enjoy my academic work at the moment, so no need to be worried about me. I just wasn't able to set aside as much time as I would've liked for comics this week, and I don't want this to turn into an obligation that causes me stress rather than relief.
So yeah, sorry about the delays, but I am sure you'll understand. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Putting parts of my work under Creative Commons
Posted 3 years agoHello everyone.
This is something I have been debating myself on doing for a really long time now. But I have finally decided to go ahead with it and make it official. I will be putting a large part of my work under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license. By doing that, I am basically waving a part of my own rights to my work And giving blanket permission for anyone to use them for their own purposes, so long as they credit me as the original author and they aren't using them for financial gain. The full details of the license can be found on the creative commons website: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/
So, why am I doing this?
Because Copyright law in it's current iteration can be a scary, intimidating behemoth that stifles creativity and can scare inexperienced and experienced artists alike away from creating and sharing the things they want to create. I don't want to go too deep into the political and legal aspects of this, there are people out there who know this stuff way better than me. Suffice to say, I think having some form of copyright is very important, but what we currently have is way too much. I personally have benefited greatly from various things in the freeware, shareware and just the general free sharing creative space. I have found both the inspiration and tools that enabled me to become an artist in the first place out there because people were willing to share their work for free. In a way, this is my way of giving back to the freeware community at large.
Furthermore, I also want everyone to know that all of my ideas are free to use to base your own creative works on. I have always been very skeptical of the concept of someone "owning an idea". I can only speak for myself, but I think ideas and concepts are best when they are shared, and when everyone can feel free and unconcerned if they can use the ones that they like. I know not everyone shares that opinion, and that is totally fine. If you worked hard on something you do have a right in deciding what it is going to be used for, and I'd ask anyone to always respect the creators wishes before using any of their ideas. I just wanted to make my own stance on this issue clear and say that my ideas are always free to "steal", and in fact I often feel really flattered when someone asks if they can borrow something I have come up with.
One more important thing to note, which parts of my work will fall under this?
That's a bit of a tricky one, since I have used other peoples characters in my own work before, and I can't (and don't want to) make any decisions for them. Tracking everyone down individually and talking it through with all of them would be next to impossible at this point, so anything that includes characters that I don't own is excluded from this. I will also exclude comic pages if other pages in that comic have guest characters on them, since I don't think it makes sense to use different licenses for different parts of the same comic. This also doesn't apply for any of the commissions I have made, since whoever paid for them also holds rights over them.
What this leaves is essentially all of my personal work that does not include guest characters, which would be a large part of my one-off pictures, the entirety of "The big mutant plant thing" and the entirety of "Otherside". In the following days, I will be going through my entire gallery to add a small Creative Commons marker to the description of the works this applies to. So when in doubt, check if it has one of those.
In addition to that, I also want to apply this license to all of my original characters, with the exception of Inkwolf (sorry, he's my sona) and anyone that is co-owned by someone else. When in doubt, always feel free to ask. And yes, this includes Leandre herself.
So what exactly does the license mean and permit you to do?
Basically it means, if you want to use any of my stuff licensed under it, you can do so as long as you follow two rules:
-You have to credit me as the original artist (honestly, I won't be mad if you don't, but it's a part of the standard license, and I would appreciate it if you did). If you want to be extra awesome, I'd also appreciate if you provided a link to my original upload or my FA page on top if you decide to share anything based on my work, but again, I don't really insist.
-Non-commercial use only. Basically, you are not allowed to sell my work or anything directly derived from it without additional permission. Again, I probably wouldn't be very upset if someone did, but it's just a right I'd like to maintain the final say in for the time being.
As for some examples what this includes, you can reupload my work somewhere else, you can make translations for it, you can take parts of it and put them into memes, you can make your own stories using some of my characters or settings and you can make prints for personal use. Just to be clear, I still maintain ownership of my own characters and own personal art, but you have my permission to use them too as outlined above.
When in doubt or in need of additional details, always feel free to ask or consult the creative commons website: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/
In the end, I just want to say that I am aware that much of this might read like hubris. Like I expect everyone to want to use my great art and my ingenious ideas for everything all of a sudden. But that's not really what this is all about. I myself come across things that I want to use for my own art all the time. Yet it's often hard to tell if doing so might make someone angry, or hurt their feelings. Art doesn't exist in a vacuum. We all draw inspiration from everywhere all the time, and it can be hard to say at what point that turns into stealing ideas. I just want to contribute to an environment where people feel more at ease to pursue the creative endeavours that they want to pursue, unafraid of accidentally stepping on someones toes. All I really have to offer for that is my own art, since I can't and don't want to speak for anyone else on that behalf. I just want people to know that it's fine to take from my stuff if they see anything that they like. Inspiration is not a zero-sum game. Taking it won't diminish what I have in any way, so you are always welcome to it. I myself would not be where I am today if people hadn't been willing to share their own work and ideas with me as well. So returning the offer is the least I can do.
I swear to claws though, if anyone uses this to make Ayleena and Leandre hook-up...!!!
If you have come this far, thank you so much for your patience in reading all of this. May you all have an amazing and creative day!

Comics will resume tomorrow
Posted 3 years agoHello everyone!
I just wanted to give a quick heads-up. My real life obligations have calmed down a little and I am ready to resume my work on more comic pages as per usual now. Page 19 of Otherside is finished and ready to be uploaded tomorrow. From there on I plan to get back into my usual bi-weekly upload schedule.
Thanks for being patient with me while things got a little busy for me. The hiatus definitely was the right call for me though since there was just a lot going on at once. But now that I've had a month to get used to the new internship I am at, I feel like I've gotten used to it enough to resume with my normal pattern. Thanks so much, and I hope to see you all tomorrow!

Retiring my old arts tablet, time for a new one!
Posted 3 years agoGood evening, everyone!
After over 5 years of faithful service and near daily use from someone who doesn't treat their things particularly gently, I retire my old art tablet, Zenobia (Yes, I do give all my computers names). Today, my new one has arrived and I finished setting it all up, ready for more drawing! I decided to call this one Draga. I know it's not really a big deal. Essentially I just traded one heavily used tool for a less worn and battered one. But I just want to use this occasion to talk a little bit about my experience with it and the tools I use. Perhaps it can serve as a useful recommendation for artists who are just getting started or maybe it's just interesting to read.
Zenobia is an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A I got back in 2016 during my apprenticeship. Before that, I had been doing all of my drawing in paper, scanning them in, and then doing all the digital stuff on my PC with Wacom tablets. You can still see that in my earlier comics, up to the first few pages of The Sand-Serpents Tomb. What I was looking for at the time was something that had it's own screen that I could draw directly on, with the secondary priorities being that it should be portable so I could use it during my lengthy commutes at the time, and that it should be as cheap as possible. Well, the only thing you really absolutely need for an art tablet is a pen that can detect pressure levels. Everything else is pretty much a nice to have bonus (which I couldn't afford at the time. (Still can't to be fair.)). For a little over 300€, this just so happened to be the cheapest device available at the time that fulfilled that minimum requirement.
It's certainly not a professional solution. It's a regular android tablet designed for taking notes and other tablettey stuff like that. It being able to do art is more of a neat side-effect than a core design goal on a device like this. Still, I loved what it did to death. For the first time, I was able to do a piece of art from start to finish on one and the same device. And I could even do it on the go. Drawing on the screen directly also felt so much better than having to look at the screen while drawing on an opaque plastic board in front of you. It made the entire process of doing digital art so much easier and faster for me. The only thing I really still needed a PC for is writing all the text for the speech-bubbles (which I still haven't found a good android app for to this day).
I eventually settled on ArtFlow as my main art program. It's a lot more bare-bones than the professional tools for PC, like PhotoShop or... whatever other artists use (really showing how much I know here...), but it's enough for my hobbyist needs. Also a lifetime premium version cost me about 10€... money well spent! All of this certainly isn't enough to meet the needs of an actual professional, but for me it was such an upgrade and exactly what I needed at the time.
But Zenobia has been starting to show her age. No real wonder considering I used her for drawing on a near daily basis, sometimes for hours on end. But the constant scratching of plastic pens on a touchscreen do kind of wear them down over time. About one and a half years ago, she started to refuse some of the inputs, making it a struggle to zoom or pan around. Worse though, it would start registering inputs I wasn't making, booting me in and out of my apps rapidly and sometimes even deciding "No, I didn't really want to save all these changes I made during the last 30 minutes before closing the program" for me. I was able to stop her from doing that by literally duct taping pieces of cardboard over parts of her screen to make sure not the slightest bit of input could be registered. That helped for a while, but recently even that sledgehammer approach wasn't doing it anymore. So after 5 years, well over what I'd usually expect a fragile device like that to last under heavy use, I decided I couldn't put off spending more money any longer. I needed a new one.
And... here it is! Honestly, I was so happy with how things went back then, I applied the exact same search criteria again. Android device, needs a pressure-sensitive pen, as cheap as possible. And by mere coincidence, I ended up with another Samsung Galaxy, whit time the much newer S6 lite. It's essentially exactly the same as good old Zenobia, just some of the numbers are bigger and it's working properly. Even the price range was pretty much identical. So... I guess from your perspective, nothing is really going to change. I am still using the same software and the same methods as before and working from the same templates I used to make for myself years ago. Apparently if someone were to ask me if I would do everything the same way again, my answer would be a resounding yes. So, welcome to the team, Draga, and a restful retirement as Youtube-watching machine to Zenobia.
So, for any new artist who find themselves in a similar situation as my own, this is the approach I would recommend. As long as you don't care too much about having the most professional tools or all of the complex and sophisticated options that digital art has to offer, if you're more looking for a convenient and simple solution to make your hobby easy and convenient and if money is a concern, Android tablets are probably the cheapest option you can go for. As I said, the only thing you really need is one with a pressure-sensitive stylus (it has to be pressure-sensitive, don't confuse them with the kind of stylus that are just a piece of plastic to push pressure on the screen... though I am honestly not sure if those are still being made with modern touchscreen technology), anything else is just kind of a bonus. It's still not cheap, the entire package can cost around 300-400€ or your regional equivalent, but if that's within your hobby budget, I can honestly heartily recommend it.
Not sure if this was interesting to anyone, but it felt good to write, so I guess it was worth it one nonetheless. If you made it to the end, thank you for taking the time to read, and I hope you have an amazing day!

Taking March off from comic work.
Posted 3 years agoHello everyone. Sorry to have to delay again, but I am currently in a position where I just need to take some time off from working on the comics.
Nothing bad or major has happened, it's just that due to the pandemic, a bunch of my uni work has been delayed and rescheduled and this month a couple of things are just lining up in an unfortunate way. The new semester has also started this week for me, which will be me working a full-time internship and eventually writing my bachelors thesis. It started out amazing so far, they are leaving me a lot of freedom in when and where I want to work and I am mostly left to tackle my tasks however I want to. Which is great and I love it, but if I am working on a coordinated, large project like that all day, I don't really feel like working on another coordinated, large project (my comics) in the evening too. I am sure once I find my rhythm and get into the beat of things I'll be able to do that too, but until then (and with me still having to deal with some lingering finals this month), it's a lot easier for me to just take this month of from comic work and just focus on some of the smaller, faster art ideas I have.
My apologies to those who were excited to see the story continued soon. I expect that I'll be picking it back up in April. Until then, I hope you'll be happy with some smaller one-off pictures as well.

Busy with finals still
Posted 3 years agoGood day to everyone!
I just wanted to give you all a quick heads-up that I won't be able to do a comic page for this sunday. Sorry about that. I still have a couple of reports to write by the end of the month and one more exam to study for shortly after, and those have to take priority right now. But hey, thus far I am on track to finish uni in par time. Which means from march onward, I'll start working on preparations for my bachelors thesis. Things might get more busy for me then, but I'll try my best to keep interruptions to my comic schedule to a minimum. We'll have to wait and see how things go once I actually start working on it. Either way, I am pretty excited about this!
Despite all of that, I hope you all are doing well and are having a nice day!

Short break from comics
Posted 3 years agoGood day everyone!
I hope you all had some nice holidays! I certainly had a good time visiting family and enjoying all that came with it.
But unfortunately, I didn't get much done in terms of comics during this time, and very soon this semesters finals will be coming up. So I decided to take a little time off from working on Otherside so I don't have to stress out over that while preparing for those. So there won't be a new upload this Sunday. Sorry about that. I'll probably resume my schedule for the next upload on the 16.01.2022. I'll try to get around to uploading some of my backlogged comms and personal work that I did a while ago to make up for it :3
You all have a great day and an amazing new year!

I saw two of my friends do this sort of thing quite a bit a while back, and I am stealing this idea from them. It always seemed like a lot of fun when
MeganBryar and
GraceTheGoldenFurred did it.
So for those who haven't seen these before, you get to ask me or any of Inkwolf's other characters anything you like, naughty or nice, and we'll try to answer as best as we can. Questions can be anything, art related, personal, philosophical or just plain silly. This is pretty much just for fun and because I feel like talking to people today.

No comic page this week
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone.
Just letting you know real quick, I won't have the time to make a comic page this week, unfortunately. The new semester has just started this monday and I just need some extra time to get all the new courses organized and everything that comes with that. Also, this is the first semester since the start of the Covid pandemic where we are allowed to have some classes in person, so I also just wanna take some time to reconnect with my fellow students. Instead I might use this weekend to upload some of my backlog of finished art that I never got to publish for one reason or another. Thanks for understanding!
The next upload will be page 7 of Emxacerbating Enigmas on Sunday the 10.10.
Hope you all have a great time!

Next comic page will be a little bit late
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone!
Just a quick heads-up, the next comic page that was queued for tomorrow will be a little bit late. A couple minor things came up this week and I didn't get to work on it as much as I'd like to. It will likely be up on monday or tuesday instead. Sorry about that.

A sequel to Punishing Puzzles
Posted 4 years agoGood day everyone, Inkwolf here.
I have a bit of an announcement to make. After I finished my short comic "Punishing Puzzles", my good friend
dragonmaster2653 and I got to talking, and eventually we decided that he'd be commissioning me to a sequel to this comic, starring one of his own characters. I usually don't really do direct sequels to my comics, I normally like to leave things a little bit open towards the end, but this one sounded like something that'd be a lot of fun to work on. We are planning on starting to upload the first page today, so I wanted to address my plans for upload schedules beforehand so it won't cause confusion.
First off, this will have no bearing on the upload schedule of my personal ongoing comic, "Otherside". That is still going to get a new page every other Sunday. This sequel comic will be updated on the Sundays in between, starting today, and every 14 days from there on. So I will be working on two different comics in tandem for a while and take turns between uploading either one weekly for a while.
Also, as this is a direct sequel to "Punishing Puzzles", it'll take place right after that, but before the events of Otherside. I normally don't worry about timelines too much and I try to write every comic in such a way that they're accessible to someone who hasn't read any of the prior ones. In this special case it's somewhat unavoidable though.
That's pretty much all I can think of right now, so I hope you'll enjoy this story as well!

Taking a short break & Future comic plans
Posted 4 years agoGood day everybody, Inkwolf here!
I just wanted to give you a quick heads-up. I will be skipping next sundays comic page which would have been on 04.04. The reason being that the new semester has just started for me and I have taken on quite a few optional courses, as well as a small side job as a tutor, so I just need some extra time to get myself reorganized. It's quite a bit of additional workload and I want to make sure I don't miss anything important, so I don't want to split my attention between comics and that right now, at least during the crucial starting phase of the semester. It's likely going to be a lot easier once I have gotten back into the beat of things.
But yeah, I plan on continuing as usual on the bi-week after that (18.04. to be specific), and I don't think I have talked about my plans for the next comics publically yet, so let me adress what I have in mind after Punishing Puzzles really quick.
First off, there's another really short script that I wrote, it's only a single page long. So that's going to be the next thing I make. Right after that, I want to get back into making the regular long-form comics again. I already started work on the script for that too. I don't want to spoil too much, but the basic idea is that I want to emulate the basic structure of a typical horror movie, but replace all the death and murder with kinks and comedy. So really more of a loving parody of the horror genre (I hope! I am legitimately scared of horror movies. Please don't haunt me!)
So yeah, just to recap briefly:
04. April: No comic page
18. April: Seperate single-page comic
02. May and onward: Episode 5 of the main line Leandre comics
Thank you so very much for reading and for sticking around! Hope to see you all soon with the new projects.

Slight delay for the next comic page.
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone!
Just a quick heads-up, Punishing Puzzles page 3 will have to be delayed by a day or two. The reason is that exam weeks have started for Inkwolf and he's been too busy studying and finishing up uni-projects to also finish the next comic page on time. Sorry for the slight inconvenience, but the page should be done by monday or tuesday.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

A few changes of plan.
Posted 5 years agoGood morning everyone, Inkwolf here! Hope you are all doing swell this sunday.
It's been a while since my last journal, and a couple of things have changed for me since then, and I just wanted to let you in on the things that are going to affect my art in some way.
TL;DR: Patreon is on hold for now. Will do some more short form comics before starting another main series one.
First of, I have decided to pause my Patreon for the time being, and I am strongly considering closing it altogether. This decision has nothing to do with Patreon itself or with anyone who has been contributing to my comics through it. It is an entirely personal decision. What I found over the ~1,5 years I have been using it is that I am not great at handling the amount of pressure and expectations I put upon myself the moment money gets involved. Even when people keep telling me not to worry about it, I just can't help but be more anxious about the work I am doing if I know people have been putting their money and therefore their faith in my performance. Even if nobody ever said anything of the like, it puts a certain feeling of obligation in the back of my head, that I have to use certain characters as extras, that I have to adress topics and themes that are popular with my patrons in the comics, and so on. I am very grateful for the support that I have been receiving so far, but I don't think Patreon really was the right way to go for me personally. For now, I just want to go back to doing comics the way I used to. I'll feel a lot easier about doing silly and out there stuff in these comics if I feel like I can do them entirely on my own terms, and that's ultimately what's the most fun to me about making comics.
I will still use guest characters in the comics when there's a chance, especially those of the people who have supported me so far. But for now, I want to be more proactive about choosing what characters to use and approaching people for them myself.
Secondly, I have somewhat changed my plans for what sort of comic to do next. I am really having a good time with The Pneumatic Predator and it's shorter length right now, and I am really feeling like continuing with making shorter 5-8 pages long comics for the time being. I know I usually make longer comics, but especially after the 65 pages of Sand-Serpent's Tomb, I just feel like I want to do even more of these bite-sized comics before getting into another long-form narrative. I hope you don't mind and that you find these shorter comics just as enjoyable as the main ones.
That should be all for now. Thank you all for reading and for sticking around! Hope you all have a great day!

Comic plans for after Raiders of the Sand Serpent's Tomb
Posted 5 years agoGood morning, everyone!
This sunday, I will be posting the final page of "Raiders of the Sand-Serpent's Tomb". I have been working on this comic for almost 3 years at this point, and I am excited to finally see it conclude. I loved working on it, and I am overall very happy with how it came out, but I am also very excited to be able to explore new avenues soon. So in this journal, I want to give you a quick heads-up on what I am planning next and why.
In hindsight, I am really happy with how the Sand Serpent came out, but there are a few issues which came to light throughout it's long making, and which I want to address before moving into the next big project. For one, I had a lot going on in my life throughout the time of making this comic. I started in the middle of my apprenticeship, which involved a lo of travelling, job-school, spotty internet access and tech. I went through several different PCs and graphics tablets throughout (the first few pages of this comic are actually still hand-drawn, before I switched to fully digital around page 4 or so), had to move house, get back into university... and so on. It didn't always do the comic great, and especially with the typology it caused a lot of inconsistency. Secondly, I think I could have done a better job with the pacing and thematic consistency of the comic. This comes down to me not planing ahead far enough and not keeping proper design notes. Sometimes I forget or go back on how certain details within the story work internally, and I think some of it shines through in the tone of the overall narrative. That and some of the scenes dragged out for a little too long without much new information being conveyed. Thirdly, I have since learned how important it is to plan out your speech-bubbles ahead of time (been doing this for 100+ pages and only now come to really think about it). The text was always more of an afterthought for me, and therefore it sometimes end up looking squeezed in if the art doesn't give it the space it needs, or it can end up overlapping parts of the drawings since I didn't plan for enough space. So going forward, I want to try and plan for that accordingly, write out the text while sketching and adjust accordingly so art and writing can work together better.
Which finally takes me to my plans up ahead. Comic uploads are going to continue as normal, every two weeks on sunday, but I am going to work on a couple shorter comics including Leandre as their protagonist before getting into the next full on episode. The reason is that I am being a little more thorough in how I approache the plot of episode 5. I am being more thorough about documenting my planning and I am structuring the plotline ahead of time. With Sand Serpent and previous comics, I always had an idea about how to end the comic and what points to hit on the way there, but they also had a lot of spontaneous decisions on the way. For what I intend to do with episode 5, I think somewhat more rigid outline to stick to would be beneficial. Therefore, the script just needs a little more time before I feel confident to start the next long story.
But as I said, I have a few shorter intermission comics planned, so that uploads will continue as normal. For one, I already have a script ready for another episode of "Brunca's Sugar Shack". A 2-page long comic where Leandre will encounter some more candy-based bondage. Secondly, I have a script ready for a 6-page long comic that explores a fetish that I have been curious about for some time now, but never really explored in any more depth. It's gonna involve beaches, boys & babes and blow-up toys. I will be making both of those comics first and then I will very likely be ready to get on to the next episode.
A thank you to all of the readers who have been here throughout the comic and made it so much fun to do. And a very special thank you to all of my patrons who's financial support makes it so much easier to justify not getting a "real job" to pay the bills and instead spend my afternoons drawing snep-tits. It makes my student life so much easier, thank you so very much!
TL;DR: Final page of Sand Serpent is this sunday. The next 8 comic updates after that will be dedicated to shorter stories while I work on preparing the next full on episode. New comic pages every two weeks as usual.

Damsel Gachapon Auction by SuperMafia
Posted 5 years agoHello everyone!
I don't usually do signal boosts like this, but since the characters being auctioned are ones that were originally designed by me, I thought this one might be of interest to some of you. So anyways,
SuperMafia is auctioning off two of the adoptables I made for the Damsel Gachspon series a while back. You can find the auction right here if you are interested. SuperMafia did ask for my consent for this re-sale beforehand and I gave them my full permission to do so, so all of this is happening with my full consent.
We also agreed that a large part of the money raised will go towards a mutual friend of ours who recently became the victim of a break-in. Their insurance won't cover fully for all the items lost, so we hope that we can help out at least a little bit in this way.
Thank you all for taking the time to read! Have a lovely day!

I just had a random scenario pop into my head and I thought it would be a fun thing to share and see the different kinds of answers people would come up with. Pick one of your characters, imagine the following scenario for them and tell me what they would do in that situation. It's meant to be for entertainment first and foremost, but perhaps we can all gain a few ideas about character development in the process too.
"You end up in the hospital and it turns out that for medical reasons, one of your limbs will have to be replaced soon. While weihing your options, someone offers you to use their time-machine, and you decide to see how far medicine has come in the future before making any decisions. As it turns out, future medicine is amazing and procedures like this are not only very affordable but also completely risk free. You could easily get your limb replaced by a robotic limb that looks, sounds and feels just like your regular limb does, but you also have the option to have some hidden functionalities built in with the replacement. Alternatively, you also have a wide palette of looks and customizations too choose from. You could have it look any way you like or replace it with any other gadget of your choosing, even though at that point it would be obvious to everyone that you have a robotic limb.
So, what would your cyber-limb look like and which, if any, bonus functions would you add to it?"
I hope you find this sort of thought experiment as fun and interesting as I do, and I am looking forward to your answers.

A few thoughts on the topic of authorial intent.
Posted 5 years agoGood day everyone! Inkwolf here.
Spending my days stuck at home and slowly but surely running out of video games to play, I guess a good way to pass the time is to practice some introspection. As a hobby, I love to think a lot about media, analyzing and overanalyzing it and learning about it's creation process. Now one question that often comes up is what an author was intending when creating a story, and whether or not they succeeded in it. Since I have been publiching my own stories in the form of the Leandre comics for over 4 years now, I felt like it might be a good idea to put my own intent out there, and also discuss the topic on a general level a bit.
First off, I want to mention authorial intent versus audience perception. In an ideal case, these two things align. The author succeeded in conveying whatever message or emotion they put into their work, and that is exactly the message that the audience got. It is great when that happens, and a good indicator to tell that the author knows what they are doing, but we don't life in an ideal world. More often than not, messages are misunderstood, emotions are conveyed differently, intent is perceived wrongly and so on, or something was put in there by accident. This is not about pointing fingers or making accusations, miscommunications can happen on both ends, and they can be an interesting source of new interpretations. It is not something that should be avoided at all costs, but it is something we should be aware of when viewing or discussing media.
This is where politics come in, or rather, agendas of any kind. There's a popular notion out there that all media is political, whether it intends to be or not. People have opinions, and authors are people, and whether they intend to or not, telling a story through characters interacting with a world will be coloured by their own ways of thinking. I think there is some merit to that notion. At the very least I think we can agree that a lot of people are trying to view all sorts of media in a political light. That is not necesserily a bad thing, but I do want to remind everyone that intent, portrayal and interpretation are three different things. An author might have something they have to say or not. If they aren't careful, that message is portrayed wrong, or we end up accidentaly implying things that we didn't mean to. And finally, when engaging with a story, people can draw the wrong conclusions or find meaning where there's actually none.
As I said earlier, I don't think misinterpretations are necesserily a bad thing. Very interesting new points of view can come from it, ways to look at a story or a character that weren't even considered before. I don't think we should necesserily try and avoid them at any cost, but I would like to say, be weary of people claiming to know for sure. If someone claims Work X by Auther Y definitely contains messages of Political direction Z, and therefore Y is definitely a Z-ist, please take the time to look at the source material yourself and draw your own conclusions. And maybe consider the context of time, culture and the conditions under which it was created as well. On the flipside, claiming as an author "It was intended to say XYZ!" is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for careless story writing. We can not simply claim that our works are apolitical and magically be absolved of all responsibility for what our works end up saying, intentional or not.
So yeah, basically what I am saying is, when engaging with a story and deriving meaning from it, stay critical, draw your own conclusions, and grant the benefit of the doubt. Also, value misinterpretations for what they are. They might not be what was intended, but they can still be useful. Or at the very least entertaining.
To seperate this from the general discussion, I just want to take a moment to lay bare what my own intentions are when writing the Leandre comics. And really, at it's core it is just me telling the types of stories I would like to see more of myself. I try to avoid political statements with these comics, since that is not what they are about. I am not smart enough of a person to understand politics, social issues, or anythign of the sort, so I don't intend to make comments about them. The prime objective with these comics is always entertainment.
Obviously, I also portray some of the things that I am passionate about, first of all being science, critical thinking and a general attitude of open-mindedness and curiosity. I feel like all of these subjects are dealt with on a very surface level, since they come second to just having a fun time on my list of priorities, but I do hope they can inspire people to look more into those things and maybe learn something from people who actually know what they are talking about. Really, I am not taking any of this too seriously, and I am probably horribly misrepresenting the science of archeology terribly in my latest comic.
Also, I feel like I'd be amiss not to adress the uncomfortable topic of all the non-consensual sexual themes throughout all of my work at this point. I do hope it is clear that I do not in any way advocate for any of that. All of that is meant to build an escapist fantasy only and nothing beyond that. I really think that was already clear to everyone, but I feel like it needed to be mentioned at this point. Fantasizing about anything is fine as long as it stays a fantasy.
So yeah, other than the art of story-telling itself, really nothing in the comics is really meant to be taken too serious. I am telling a story because telling this story is fun to me. I hope you enjoy it for what it is too!

Thank you for 1000 Watchers! Have a celebratory Q&A session!
Posted 6 years agoGood day everyone, Inkwolf here.
It's been almost 4 and a half years now since I started uploading my comics and yesterday we managed to break out of the 3-digit range. We are now at one kilo of watchers! I am usually not someone who pays much attention to the numbers or thinks they mean very much on their own, but for this milestone, I wanted to came out and say thank you to all of you! Whether you are a new watcher or someone who has been here from the very start (and I do know a few people who are and are still actively following the comics, which is absolutely amayzing to me!), thanks for being here and enjoying this ride together with me.
It is kind of weird. 1000 people is a number too big to really comprehend for the brain. Sure, we all know how much 1000 is and we can do calculations with that, but really imagining 1000 actual people in one place? That kind of seems too much to even really comprehend the dimensions of. So in a sense the bigger the numbers get, the more incomprehensible and meaningless they do become. And sure, I know not all of those 1000 people are still around and following actively. A lot of those accounts will have gone inactive in the meantime, or they stopped paying attention and never unwatched, and I am sure there are a few alt-accounts in there as well. But still, that is why I usually don't care much for the numbers themselves, and rather for all the fun and inspiring interactions with the individual people I had on the way.
But also, it is custom to celebrate these milestones, and I came up with something I have been wanting to do for quite a while. I never really found the time to do so, but this seems like a good opportunity:
I will be doing a Q&A tour of my evil castle, where I cook up all of my ideas and create these comics. And you can participate by submitting your own questions to me or any of my characters. I want to give you the opportunity to see behind the scenes a little and ask questions about my workflow, my inspirations, or whatever you want really. You can ask me directly or you can ask Leandre questions, or any of my other characters if you are interested in them. I will then pick the most interesting questions and create a short comic strip where me and my characters will be answering them.
To participate, please leave your questions in the comments or send me a note here on FA. I will not be answering any questions before the actual comic releases, so please keep that in mind and be patient. You have time until Saturday the 21. of December to submit your questions. After that, I will start working on the comic.
Alright, that should be it, I think. Thank you all again and have a great day!

Another obnoxious patreon plug
Posted 6 years agoHello everyone!
Since the wisdom of the wise content-creators of the past dictates that you need to obnoxiously advertise your stuff at every turn, please kindly allow me to chew your ears off for a few lines.
I do have my own Patreon which helps me pay for food and rent while being a student with little other income. As a thank you for supporters, I offer to have their characters featured as extras in my comics, as seen on the most recent page. You can find all the details about how that works over on my Patreon-page:
https://www.patreon.com/SnowLeandre
All contributions help me in being able to afford the ongoing costs of being alive while still being able to dedicate time towards making this webcomic. Any contributions are greatly appreciated, so my sincerest thanks to all those who have helped me out so far.
I wanna stress again that despite having a Patreon, my comics will always be available to read for free here on FurAffinity.
So, subscribe to the like-button! Leave a bell! And definitely hit that... oh wait, wrong platform!

First week of lectures
Posted 6 years agoGood day everyone, Inkwolf here.
Since the last couple of weeks have been a bit chaotic, I just wanted to give you all an update. Things have finally calmed down again and I am settling in to my new life-style as a student again. I just finished my first week of lectures and thus far, I am loving it! I am back to studying mathematics, physics, electronics and I am also taking some english courses to improve my scientific writing skills. I have already made a few new friends to study and and play card games with when we're not in a lecture. The staff and professurs are all really nice and helpful too. All in all, I really love being back at university and studying science and engineering.
For the time being, I am also stable financially, since I have been able to save up quite a bit before starting here. I will need to find a job sooner or later, but for now what I have saved up plus my earnings from commissions and patreon are enough to keep me afloat for quite some time. So really, there isn't much to worry about at this moment in time.
I am really looking forward to tackling all these new fields of learning. This life also seems a lot more friendly towards my artistic aspirations than my time during the apprenticeship was.
Once again, my thanks to everyone for sticking around and encouraging me in my endeavours. I am looking forward to sharing many more of my ideas and pictures with all of you throughout this new chapter in my life.

Opening 3 commission slots [closed]
Posted 6 years agoAll slots gone! See you all next time!
Greetings everyone!
So, my professor just informed me that apparently I am too good at maths to participate in the basic pre-semester courses. Which means I unexpectedly have the entire day off tomorrow. So what better time to take on some more commissions to help pay for food and rent?
I will be opening 3 slots. If you wish to claim one, just reply on this journal to claim the slot. We can discuss the details on what you wish to have drawn via notes or other means later. Also, to give everyone a fair shot at this, those who managed to claim a slot during the last round of commissions I did will be on cooldown for this round. If by tomorrow evening there are still slots available, I will open those to them again too.
Slot A:
Zhiral
Slot B:
LordJaguar
Slot C:
Cloud-Tail
You can find my commission and price info here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32394258/
