I finally saw a doctor about my horrible physical health issues, ended up going to a walk-in clinic since I still don't have a family doc. He confirmed it likely being an autoimmune disease and thinks there's an underlying problem presenting as rheumatoid arthritis or polymyalgia rheumatica. The concerning part is I also have a malar rash and what seems to be polymorphous light eruption - the former I'm hoping is just rosacea, as I've had it for years, but the latter I'm aware can be comorbid with lupus, so yeah. (Lol I don't want lupus)

I'm going for labs in a few weeks for a complete blood count and to check every inflammatory marker and autoantibody under the sun, so I guess we'll see. In the meantime I have some extra strong arthritis painkillers that should hopefully take away some of the pain and allow me to at least walk again.

I can't maintain an online presence, not when my mental health is so dogshit and every time I start to improve, something slam dunks me all the way back to rock bottom. I lost one of my rats to a Zymbal's gland tumor three weeks ago and it pretty much destroyed me, and now it looks like his brother has a pituitary tumor and I just can't. I have worse things to stress about than creating art that barely anyone sees anyway.

Commissions will remain open for what it's worth, just be aware that progress on those might be slow but I don't have any ongoing right now regardless so what does it even matter. I plan on closing them permanently once I get a job, so yeah.

Hello! Sorry for my absence as of late. I had hoped to be much more active with art, but my physical and mental health both continue to suck. I've been suffering the effects of what I think is Long Covid; for about two months I was exhausted and in near-constant pain, every joint hurt like I was 90 years old and I could barely do any physical activity without feeling like I'd run a marathon. On top of that my mental health crashed and I was in a pretty shit state. I'm on some medication now for the latter issue, which does seem to be helping, but tbh I still feel very burned out and just...not built for this world, lol.

Anyway, self-pity and whining never got me anywhere, so I'm trying to be proactive and will be opening commissions again soon! They'll be mostly the same as before, with a few notable changes:

- Smaller canvases. Rather than working at 4k resolution for everything, I now paint on 1500-2000px canvases. This allows me to achieve greater detail and improved quality while cutting the tedium in half.
- Lower prices. Some prices have been lowered. This is a direct result of being able to work faster; it's not a drastic change, but my more detailed work should hopefully be a little more appealing now.
- Revamped scenery. Scenery was a point of confusion before. I had intended for it to be partially bundled in, but I often found myself having to tack on complexity fees. While the base price for scenery has been raised slightly to combat this, things should still be lower overall.
- Revamped sketches. I could never settle on a style for this tier, but I've been really happy with my sketches lately and figured I'd run with those. They are a little pricier now, but they come with better shading and detail, and hopefully stand out more.
- I no-longer accept PayPal. This company honestly sucks and I'm still salty about the time they tried to steal almost $2000 from me. Seriously, fuck PayPal. I shouldn't need to stress about whether or not my account is going to be banned every time I use it. I'm switching to Stripe via my Ko-fi page.
- I no-longer share images without my watermark. I'm really sorry, but I've lost count of how many times a full-res piece without my watermark has been uploaded by mistake, or even used by another artist. This goes for sketches and WIPs as well.
- I'm undecided on NSFW. Pinups are fine, but I'm currently not sure if I want to continue drawing outright porn. Please bear with me while I figure this one out lmao

Hopefully these changes aren't too much of a turnoff. I just really want to fix the things that were bothering me before, and what better time to do so than a brand new start :3

I really did not anticipate how much better I would feel after the fresh start. I didn't realise just how preoccupied I had become with what I believed other people wanted to see from me, vs what I actually wanted to draw. There hasn't been a huge change in my content, sure, but the shift in mindset has been wonderful, and I'm finding myself genuinely enjoying the act of creating again after so many years of believing I'd lost the spark.

Tbh for a long time I'd been considering giving up on art altogether, so I'm really happy this last-ditch attempt to revive some passion for this frustrating hobby pulled through xD That and no one IRL knowing about me here, I can be myself again and it's nice.

Hiii, it's super refreshing to have a nice shiny new account where I can be myself! I certainly want to be more active again, get back into the habit of talking with people and not just lurk like a weirdo lol

I have several new art pieces in the works that I'm so far super happy with and can't wait to share! A couple are NSFW, but I have a feeling that won't bother anyone here :') Along with the fresh start I'm also experimenting with making my dragons look more otherworldly and ethereal, pushing their shape language more, and generally trying to depict them how I always imagined in my head. I'm liking the results so far! When I have my current workload finished, I'd love to practice this new style on some other people's characters in the form of a small art giveaway, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested c:
