Posted 7 months agoSo it’s been quite a while since I posted anything and the reason is kind of funny (to me at least). The long and short is that I just been having too much fun with my “normal” furry friends. I been going to a lot of cons lately, making new friends to visit and hang out with and that’s what’s been eating my free time. Its not that I got burned out from drawing or anything like that, I just been having too much fun fursuiting with friends at cons and home. I always enjoyed fursuiting but never really had a “group” of suiters to do so with that click so well that it’s all I’m looking forward to whether its for a con or local meets.
I meant to make this journal sooner but I been busy being a dork, lol. So recently I found a canceled commission from YEARS ago and thought, “maybe if I finish this bare bones sketch it’ll bring the spark back to making time to draw” and boy did it work. The challenge of changing the characters/species from the original intention was fun to do and I am pleased enough with the results that I think some of you will enjoy it as well. The text might not be my best work but its the best I can do with an old description, scrubbing it of the originally intended characters and making it “generic”.
I do intend on continuing with the project of a while back that I mentioned before. I’ll be starting again on it now and will post it all once I get it fully completed. It’s 8 pieces, and I got 4 already inked, so hopefully it won’t be too long before I can post em.
Hope you’re all having a good year!

Posted a year agoSo I had a standalone image and a 3 part series that I was reworking and it's turning into a combined narrative of 8 images (maybe a 9th). The inspiration got ahold of me tight but on the same note, I don't think it'll be as optimal to post the pics as I each one. It's gonna be a little bit but I'm working on getting them all done before posting but I think it'll be a good kick-off to the theme I want to put a chunk of focus on.
I did have a couple commission requests pending and I tried but I'm just not feeling it and I'm messaging the people that I can't go through with them. If you saw it here first, I'm sorry I wasted your time but I'm just not feeling it and my output is gonna be total shit if I force myself to draw them.
I'm debating on making a repository for my art in Discord since I'm just on here and Inkbunny. Deermary made a great post talking about the importance of archiving stuff and in my case, if it wasn't for someone archiving some of my art, I wouldn't be so excited to get drawing at this time. Let me know if there's a better "repository" I can archive my art in than making a Discord for it. Thanks for your time and I'll see you all around!

An Unexpected Development
Posted a year agoBack in 2017, in an attempt to reinvent myself, I took on a new name and wanted to keep my art centered around a specific setting, a blend of ancient and sci-fi technology. It was still primarily focused on snuff, but with more direct world building and working myself up to making larger set pieces, like battlefield scenes with many characters involved.
I took the name of Samhain, which is an ancient Celt festival marking the start of winter, falling on November 1 which happens to be my birthday so it was fitting. Also, it sounds like a normal name if you split it, Sam Hain, though I altered it by changing the A to an E so when you split it, it sounds like a normal name, Sam Hein.
I was doing alright posting a few pictures and gaining some interest, making new friends, and old friend “finding” me again. It was going well, then out of nowhere I got messaged by someone that was very “hurt by me” and wanted to speak directly. I expected the usual hate, which can be amusing but this time I fucked up badly. To keep it brief, this person’s real name is Sam Hein, and as he was getting into the furry fandom, he ran into me and my art since I beat him to using his name. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal because, reasons but this was a young person that didn’t know better and was at the stage in his internet life that he would just use his IRL name for online stuff. His exposure to my content fucked him up a bit and I felt responsible for accidentally introducing him to such heavy and fucked up topics. Yes, I went nuclear and deleted everything.
I actually kept in touch with him since I felt so bad and he eventually got over it. Turned out to get into grindcore (ew) and death metal (meh), so he called our little event an “insight into the future” though he isn’t into snuff art. Ironically, he enjoys drawing cute and wholesome stuff and draws worlds better than me, so I closed that book though at least once a year we wish each other a happy birthday and such.
So here’s what pertains to this journal’s title:
A fur from the main telegram group I originally posted under the Samhein alias reached out to me a couple days ago. He fell off furry for a few years as college consumed his life while he worked on his master’s and PhD. Getting back into following and watching snuff related artists, he found me again and saw my last journal. While talking over things, he brought up my art from that time which I told him I nuked because of the incident with “the real” Sam. He then offered to give it to me because he saved everything I posted. That surprised me and spawned a long conversation about the shared art and my plans for that series.
Looking over at it, I can see that I put more effort than usual into it. I really enjoyed working on that concept and well, I got that little spark back in me. But I don’t want to just finish and re-share what I drew. I want to remake them. At the very least, clean up anatomical mistakes and add more detail to them.
In the end, I love drawing, it’s a great way to de-stress and relax. I still doodle a bunch, but it’s minimal effort for my own entertainment. I do enjoy sharing because there’s certainly an audience that enjoys my stuff, even if they want to keep it a secret, they’re still getting enjoyment from what I put out.
So with that being said, I’m gonna touch up, redraw, and add to those images and start posting them here. It’s pretty much the dystopian setting I bring up in submissions here and there, just more fleshed out and a good focus on warfare scenes with a blend of technology and magic to create some fun fatal scenarios.
It’s going to be a bit, but I’ll start trickling in those works. As far as commissions go, I’m pretty much caught up on all my backlog and going to decline future inquiries so I can focus on this surge of inspiration. Hope ya’ll been well and I’ll see you around.
Also, I’m no longer on Telegram, only on Discord for convenience reasons. Feel free to ask to get my name on there so we can chat if you’d like.

Posted a year agoSo I've gotten used to knowing that people don't generally like to associate with snuff art and artists. I get it. That's why I don't shout to people who favorite my stuff that have their favorites gallery hidden. I do appreciate it though.
The problem comes when I'm told that directly. Been some time since I heard it and maybe I'm taking it too personal but something about it just stung. Someone reached out to commission some art from me. He's a friend of someone that commissions me about 3 times a month and reached out because he wanted to make sure that I keep private commissions private. I told him I understand the concern, especially when I'm tasked with drawing a uniquely identifiable fursona, and that I've done well over 300 drawings that remain between me and the person that commissioned them. Here's what got to me:
"...I just want to be sure that its never linked that we talked or u drawn something for me. I CANT have people know I associate with your kind so maybe we can sign a contract? I trust u wont post but like if u get hacked or something I can deny it and u back me up saying you did it without my consent..."
Again, I get it, taboo and shit but fuuck. I just wrapped up my private commission queue and was doodling a commissions price list thingy to post but now I'm not sure how I feel about things. Doesn't help that I literally have 3 contacts on telegram I consider "friends" and can chat with here and there. I do have a non-snuff associated account and on that I got plenty of friends and groups but its different. It's hard to explain but I hope someone gets what I'm trying to say.
Anyways, I'm not taking commissions, public or private. I don't plan on posting anything soon as nothing is in the works and I'm not sure how I feel about continuing to draw publicly.

Status Update - February
Posted a year agoWell I’ll be damned, I could have sworn I made a post for this month. I’ll keep it short. I got 2 commissions I’m wrapping up and will post before the end of the month. After that I want to experiment with some suicide station ideas that I doodled a little while ago that I recently found in a random folder. Some are simple but there’s a couple creative ones I want to expand on. I do enjoy touching up on the whole dystopian world where death is a motivator to do well and avoid it or a viable option to solve issues. Let me know what you think, maybe I can stick with it and keep building on scenes in that world setting.
Status Update - January
Posted a year agoWelp, I started the new year on the wrong foot. Long story short, I spent 6 days in the hospital and now starting my recovery at home. I'm having trouble staying upright but I'm getting better everyday so as my body allows, I'll finish those pieces I've had lined up to complete and post prior to ringing in the new year. My resolution this year was originally to double the submissions in my gallery and I'm itching to get it beyond that. For new works, I'm going to initially post in scraps to keep a sort of regularity with posting, then put the finished piece in my main gallery with the usual flavor text filling and probably delete the scrap version once it's done. Hope everyone had a better start to the new year!
Status Update - December
Posted 2 years agoI been a bit annoyed with some current commissions that near completion decided to keep them private. I only have one in the works that's nearly ready to post, so my apologies on the lack of content in.... 4 months?! Wow does time fly!
It probably hasn't helped that I've taken a complete change in my career and been trying to get adjusted to it. That's pretty much settled and I have freed up a lot of time to draw (even at work) which I been using to get caught up on some serious gaming, but its pretty much out of my system now.
So hopefully by the end of this month I should have several new submissions posted.

Posted 2 years agoA little late on the update but here it is. Knocked out 2 private commissions, working on 2 public ones now. I borrowed an android tablet from a friend and really liked it for drawing so I went ahead and purchased one for myself so I'm not limited to drawing at home on my computer plug-in drawing tablet. It's definitely a bit of a process to learn what software clicks best with me, but I'll be playing with it daily so I should get the hang of it soon. Once I finish the 2 pending commissions, I'll put out a formal price list and most importantly, impose an upcharge for private only pics. I prefer not to take those commissions but everyone that's asked has agreed to the extra fee so might as well make it a clear option for any new commissioners wanting something to stay between us. If I don't get any additions to my queue, I'll start making some stuff I been toying with for a while in my private sketches. Hope everyone has a safe and sound rest of the month!
Status Update - September
Posted 2 years agoAlright, so I got 4 commissions pending payment that have been stalling me for a couple of weeks now. This prompted me to buckle down and make a proper commissions price list. I’m going to be creating and posting it very soon and hopefully that’ll weed out people wasting my time and those attempting to score free art. If these commissions pay up, then that’ll be my next 4 uploads, otherwise I’ll be posting some one offs I wanna draw as practice to try to improve my skills a bit. I been loosely doodling a lot recently so I want to give it 100% on some simple ideas and push my limits.
Also my apologies for not being as talkative on Telegram recently. I’ve been networking quite a lot with the local furs in my area and been hanging out with at least one every day (plus going to cons and further destroying my liver). I’ll try my best to be on more frequently, just don’t take it personal peoples.

Posted 2 years agoGetting back to the flow of things, I’m going to put together a formal commissions price list. I’ll keep it appropriate to my skill level and should be able to provide a quick turnaround on them due to a change of profession. If you’re interested in commissioning me, please hold off on contacting me until I post my price list.
For anyone curious: I’m taking a break from my career (possibly a super early retirement) and started an apprenticeship with my brother into a different kind of chaotic field of work. I will be done traveling which means I can enjoy my free time to laze around the place and draw more. Also I got bit by the furcon bug recently so I’ll be trying to hit up as many as I can as opposed to my usual 1 a year. Prolly shouldn't be saying this since I keep that furry side of me separate from this but it's fun to run into people at cons that faved some of my art [insert devious laughter here].

Status Update - June
Posted 2 years agoAs usual I been busy AF with work and just as things began to slow down I had some family issues to sort out come up. I'm working on a couple of commissions atm and once those are done I'm thinking of making a proper price list since I'll have a lot more free time for the rest of the year, perhaps longer.
On a side note, a friend helped me locate some art that I posted under a different name for a short time and I'm considering on properly finishing the pieces and posting them. They primarily have a sci-fi narrative though there are some one offs. I have another friend that found a handful of older pieces I'm considering on redrawing so we'll see how things go.
Shout out to the new watchers and favorites I've gotten, really appreciate it and hope I can keep you entertained with my future works.

Status Update - Been a while
Posted 2 years agoSorry for the lack of communication. Work has kept me insanely busy since early February. I been traveling constantly and pretty much always have at least one person around me, so even chatting has been pretty much off limits since many of my contacts like to send spicy art and I don't need that to mix in with my personal life.
I had a pic I started for Valentine's Day but then work picked up and I couldn't work on it or anything at all since. Things will be slowing down soon and I already been turning down work because it's been a bit too busy for my taste. Not the biggest fan of flying at least twice a week. So as things slow down, I'll finish the Valentine's pic because I can get away with a different flavor text to make it work and I think many of you will enjoy it.
Thanks to all the favorites for the time I been gone, really brought a smile that people are discovering and enjoying my crappy art. Now I got 559 submissions to go through and favorite since I got a few hours alone, lol.
Feel free to say hi on Telegram and Discord, I'll be back to checking it constantly soon and love making new friends and joining new groups.
Hope everyone's been having a good year so far!

Status Update - January
Posted 2 years agoBeen busy with life like most of us. Found a couple old sketches I'm pondering on finishing up and posting to get back into the flow of things.
To clarify something from my last journal: I'm not taking any commissions. I appreciate the interest from those that messaged me, I really do, but I'm not interested in doing them anymore.

Status Update - December
Posted 3 years agoSo I kinda got myself burned pretty hard with a couple of commissions. Apparently my model of "name your price" was a stupid idea in the end as 3 different people found the initial sketches/inks sufficient to fill their interests and run without payment. Obviously those pieces will not be completed or posted.
So with that being said I'm not going to take any commissions anytime soon. I won't be reaching out to anyone I previously discussed doing art for, sorry about that. If I get around to making a proper price sheet then I'll consider taking commissions again but I'm pretty unhappy about things at the moment so I'm going to focus on working on my own stuff.
Have a happy holiday season everyone!

Posted 3 years agoSorry for not making this journal sooner. October is always my busiest month for work but this year has gotten a bit out of hand and I've lost track of time. I haven't had much free time to draw but when I do I been working on my current commissions.
Everyone who inquired about commissions, I'll be reaching out next month if you're still interested and to hammer out the details. I got a few people that sent me vague concepts so hopefully they'll have a better idea what they want now or cancel. Once that's wrapped up I'll be focusing on new art, possibly a commissions price sheet since my current model is a bit outdated.
Hope you all been having a great month and have a happy Halloween!

Status Update - Commissions and pricing
Posted 3 years agoFigure I'll do things like this since I got a few commissions on my queue.
Basically got a little art block thanks to 3 vague commissions, I hit a point I got stuck on them and put things away for a couple days to wait for more details and clear my head. This helped me figure one out so I started working on it again today, the other two I'm hoping to hear from this weekend and get working on them.
Got 2 others after that are far more detailed in their description, so those will be done at a much faster rate. Just going through them in order they were all received.
Also, for anyone reading this: Should I make a firm commission price guide? I kinda just make it up as we go with each piece but there's been a few people that were either turned off by that or didn't want to handle any sort of negotiating. Highly appreciate any and all input on this.

Getting back to it!
Posted 3 years agoDoing much better now in physical and mental health and I grabbed me a proper drawing tablet to get back into the swing of things. I'm inking and coloring some stuff from my gallery to get used to it and I'm flying through the process.
Does anyone know if FA notifies watchers if an image is replaced? I'm tempted to do everything and just migrate the pencil pieces over to my scraps folder, dunno, could use some advice on this.
If you reached out to me about commissioning some art before/during my downtime, please get in touch with me again so I can get the full details and throw it on my queue. There's a couple very early stage sketches I have lying around that are commissions but past me didn't bother to write any notes on them but "commission piece". Very helpful past Snuff, very helpful.
Silent and fellow jackal bud (whatever you go by nowdays), I'm already working on yours first, so all's good there buds.
Anyone interested, I price my stuff to go with the quality of my work so.....cheap as fuck, lol
Hit me up here on on Telegram if you're interested on getting thrown in the queue. Only limits I feel worth mentioning are MLP, feral, and cubs.
Hope everyone has been doing well and hope you enjoy my finishing of older pics and all new works.

Status Update - March
Posted 3 years agoSo about a week ago I got a free flying lesson courtesy of a drunk driver during my morning run. To keep it brief, I'm not gonna be drawing anytime soon due to being unable to sit upright for any period of time. I have a few finished pieces pending the write up to post. I may have a sketch or two I'll be able to finish digitally since I can do so with a mouse and keyboard (because I suck with my tablet). I'll very likely start digitally finishing works from my gallery since I'll be having a lot of free time in bed and I can only play so many video games. Stay safe folks and let me know if there's a specific piece of mine you'll like to see colored.
Motivation Tactic
Posted 3 years agoThanking an anonymous friend for the suggestion to push my motivation by setting goals and updating in a monthly status format. Let's see how it works, so for this month:
-Finishing up and uploading a pic from last year I'm not crazy about how a couple characters came up.
-Inkbunny exclusive pic due to content (wink wink).
-1 to 3 new simple pics as practice for more detail, anatomy improvements.
-Stop playing FFXIV.....maybe just like, cut out like 4 hours a day...maybe 2....just do the dailies and log off...and pvp...shit!

-Stop playing FFXIV.....maybe just like, cut out like 4 hours a day...maybe 2....just do the dailies and log off...and pvp...shit!
Hmm (mini rant)
Posted 3 years agoI work excessively but in my free time, drawing is the best activity to wind down for me. I've had a very nice string of commissions in the past 3 months. Great new people with great communication. Once done and I run the completed piece I'm asked a variation of "can we keep this between us?" with some even throwing in a few extra bucks my way. I never given it much thought but then I realize its been months since I been on here and well...no new art.
I understand with some characters people don't want the connection made to their twisted side, or with some content, being too extreme that may put others off. I get that, but shit, 11 people in a row (23 images)? I'm starting to feel that maybe its less about the content and more about the quality of my work. Maybe these people commission me because its better than nothing and cheap? Shit thoughts been swirling around my head.
I dunno where I'm going with this but to state that I'm not taking private commissions anymore, at least in the meantime or if you're insane enough to pay double or triple my usual rates.
I'll be posting soon, have a pic I did early October I need to color to post then get onto new stuff.

I'm on Inkbunny now!
Posted 4 years agoTook me too long to get around to it and the merge took forever but I'm on there now!
https://inkbunny.net/SnuffReturns
I'll be posting alternate versions of future works there involving urination/soiling for those that are into that (I love the multi-image per submission thing they got there)
I'll also be doing a big taboo and posting cub art on there, so if that's your thing, then more of a reason to follow me on there as well!
Also want to note that I am open for commissions. Very few limits and excessively low prices since I'm in it for the fun factor, not the money as you can tell by my artistic skills.
Reach out to me via PM, Discord, and Telegram!

Yeah I'm still around
Posted 4 years agoBeen lacking inspiration as I been spending an insane amount of time reconnecting with my brother. We're both furs and had a bit of a nasty fallout a few years ago. Bro reached out to patch things up and I'm so fucking glad he did.
-Insert Vin Diesel Family quote meme here-
Since most of my free time now goes to hanging out and gaming with him and my new local furry friends, I haven't been able to sit around and ponder new snuffy art ideas. If anything, I'll ink and color pics with high view count until the inspiration hits again to come up with new stuff.
Hope everyone is doing well, thanks to the couple new watchers and the fistful of faves. If you wanna chat or want me to doodle up something for ya you can always PM me here in FA or hit me up on Discord which I'm on all the time (usually in invisible mode but will reply promptly) and Telegram which I check a few times a day but hardly have any contacts on.

Unplanned delay
Posted 4 years agoSo....guess it doesn't take much to get the attention of the diaper furs and let me tell ya something: When the fuck did they get so damn chill?
I had a pretty bad take on em in my early furry days and had very negative run ins with many as well. I preferred to stay far away from them except for a couple that I knew that got into it later on and kept it out of our chats, cool dudes so why judge?
So my latest submission was interesting in the numbers. Not only did the views on it climbed significantly faster than most of my other submissions, but the contact it created really surprised me. I'm a little irked at a few that just said something among the lines of "really like the new pic, hope you do more" privately, which I would have preferred to see as a comment on the pic but I get it. Don't wanna associate yourself with the whole snuff thing openly, I came to terms with that and I can respect it, especially after looking at some of their pages, definitely a clash with their usual cutesy faves and junk.
Well I been talking to a few of them and to keep it simple: I've been having the best interaction with furs in years. Very few furs talk to me more than a few words here and there and these furs have been very amazing at striking up conversation. We're not talking about snuff, or fetishes or any of that. A few started that way but the gears quickly shifted into a more "friendly" territory and we're having more casual conversations about stuff. Its been very refreshing and I'm really enjoying building this unexpected friendships.
With that being said, I got a handful of private commissions that I regret I won't be able to share publicly. They're gonna take me a little bit of time to do, so until that's wrapped up, no new art will be posted. Sorry for the inconvenience but money talks and making friends was what really drew me into the fandom to begin with, so all I can say is that I'm gonna work hard to wrap those up quickly so I can get back to posting new stuff for everyone.
Also, there will be a journal coming up to announce a migration of my gallery over to Inkbunny. I talked about it before but now I'm definitely gonna do it and will mirror my content on there as well as offer pieces unique to that gallery.
Be safe and thanks for reading, love you all!

Rescue pic series
Posted 4 years agoDebating on making more pieces from the setting of those images.... or going back to the fighting tournaments.... or back to the random settings I been doing.
Feedback will be greatly appreciated!
PS: If you're concerned with outing yourself as someone who views snuff art, feel free to DM me your feedback. I respect your wishes for privacy and would never out anyone. Kind of why I don't do shouts for favs anymore. Thanks!

Coming up...
Posted 4 years agoI found some sketches from a series I wanted to flesh out a LONG time ago that sparked some inspiration. Currently I'm experimenting with digital inking styles and coloring (flat, but gets the job done no?). Also got a new pic I decided not to put the sketch up but a digitally finished version thanks to excessive erasing marks, lol.
One thought I've had as I been practicing ink and color: I'm thinking of giving the finished treatment to either my entire gallery or just some of the pics with the highest views (4 or 5 maybe?). I'll prolly ask for opinions once I post the next batch of pieces and see what you all think. Definitely gonna be a good 4-6 pieces I'll be posting once I'm done with them and I'm getting pretty close.
Also: If anyone can recommend a budget drawing tablet, the ones with the screen on them, let me know. I'll hate to drop $500+ and not get used to it, like the regular tablets I just can't get into. I need to be looking at what I'm drawing, not up at the screen and drawing below. My Wacom Intuos is gathering so much dust it almost feels criminal, but I just can't get the hang of it.
Thanks and I hope you're all doing great!
