Elliott's Spring Gathering
General | Posted 15 years agoThanks to my last round of eBay auctions and some unexpected consulting work, I can go to Elliott's Spring Gathering without worrying about whether I can pay the bills! I will be at the convention in Kissimmee, Florida, from the afternoon of Thursday May 20th through the following Tuesday morning.
I am driving down from New York, which will take about a day and a half. (I wish I were just a little bit closer so I could do it all at one time, but 23 hours of driving without sleep would be a bit much.) My route should take me through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, the Carolinas, and Georgia.
Is anyone else going? :)

Large Number of Anime and Manga-related Items for Sale
General | Posted 15 years agoHello everyone,
In order to give myself a financial cushion and to ensure I can make it to Anthrocon in June, I am currently auctioning off a large number of old anime and manga related items on eBay including some very nice character goods. Almost all of this stuff dates from the 1990s and is a little bit old school. Ranma, Maison Ikkoku, Oh My Goddess, and many films from Studio Ghibli are all represented in these lots.
I have DVDs, art books, framed posters and prints, and even a couple of pieces of animation production artwork from Rurouni Kenshin. Quite a variety of things and I'm sure theres something there for just about any otaku. :)
If anyone is interested, they can find my auctions on eBay by clicking here.
These auctions end on May 2nd between 7PM and 9PM Eastern time. If anyone knows any anime fans, you are more than welcome to spread the word.
Thanks for reading!

FCN is a No Go
General | Posted 15 years agoI had planned to make it to Furry Connection North this weekend, but my financial situation simply will not allow it right now. As much as I was looking forward to going, I really need to stay home and work in order to shore up my bank account.
Ah, well. Hopefully next year! I hope everyone who goes to the con has a great time.
I will be at Elliott's Spring Gathering in May and Anthrocon in June. If money becomes a bit less scarce, I will see about squeezing in another con or two during the spring and summer.

Happy Christmas to All
General | Posted 16 years agoMerry Christmas to all of my watchers and friends! May you all enjoy a wonderful day, filled with good company, good food, and happy times.
On another note, thank you again to everyone for watching me. I want to apologize for not yet posting anything to my gallery; I actually have done a fair amount of art this year, but pretty much none of it has been furry.
I do have a few things on the burner that I hope to be able to post here soon. I tend to work on a larger scale these days, so completing most things takes a lot of time (which is in short supply). I hope everyone thinks it's worth the wait in the end.
In the meantime, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Elliot's Spring Gathering
General | Posted 16 years agoJust a quick note to let everyone know that I will be at Elliot's Spring Gathering this weekend, wandering around and probably spending more money than I should. Say hi if you see me. I'm half blind, so I probably won't see you unless you flag me down.
Also, in line with my previous journal, art is coming in the next few weeks (either here or on DA). I'm still working on my portfolio, which has been the priority. Thanks to everyone for being patient!

First Journal - A Thank You
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, this is my first journal here on FA!
I wanted to post something and thank everyone who is watching me, especially considering I have no work posted. Some of you have been my friends for nearly 15 years, others I barely know at all, and still others fall on some point in between. I appreciate all of you very much and hope you'll enjoy my work when I start posting it here.
I've been drawing on and off for about 17 years. Art is my second career (systems administration being my first) and I agonized over whether I should "retire" from computers despite not yet even being out of my twenties. I'd been thinking about going into animation since I was 15 and finally decided to make the leap. I enrolled in some introductory courses in the fall, and it turned out to be a good choice; recessions are the best time to be in school. I almost certainly would have been laid off from my old job had I kept it to this point, anyway!
Fair warning that I'm not sure as to how much I'm going to post because most of the art I'm doing these days is not furry. As a beginning art student, I am currently doing fairly generic drawing and design projects, so they don't really belong on this site. I used to do a great deal of character artwork, but I might not be able to post anything along these lines for a while, as my coursework keeps me pretty busy.
Just to be clear and to head off anyone's being disappointed, I am not going to post the following:
1) Porn. I don't draw this stuff. It doesn't offend me, but I really don't care for most of it and I think my work would look ridiculous if the characters were anatomically correct.
2) Blatantly fetishistic art. Unless it's something that comes off as fairly innocuous to an untrained eye, I won't draw this stuff, either.
I also abstain from posting memes (unless it's somehow very relevant), and I will not post journals concerning politics. I doubt anyone cares what I think, anyway (nor should they ).
I am not here purely for props. It's great if you like my work, but it's even better to get critique. Please help me to improve my art by pointing out when I go wrong (which is frequently).
I work mostly in traditional media. Themes you're likely to see in my work include sword and sorcery, superheroes, period pieces, and time and space. I draw other things, as well, so there should be something for almost everyone.
Thank you all again for watching me. It really means a lot.
And feel free to say hi anytime!
