Im No Longer Sodapop2d and This is a New Journal!

That’s right, baby! Im finally TexanSoda! It’s funny because the reason why I was that name as so that my friend’s on deviantart wouldn’t find me on Fur Affinity. I was worried someone would just search up my name on Google or something and whooooa who the heck is this?? Back there I went as TexanViking. On Twitter, I just changed it to TexanSoda. NOW, I am finally TexanSoda here! It feels so much better having my real name on here. The good thing is Im sure all of you knew me as TexanSoda, so it wasn’t like… a huge deal. It just feels right now.
What’s Art Lookin’ Like, Texan?
Let’s just jot down some stuff I wanna work on or looking forward to!
• More silly art of our new Lion boy, Micah! Definitely more toony stuff of em. So look forward to that.
• Aesthetic art: So basically more vaporwave, VHS styled, edgy-er, and more “vibing” kind of art. I don’t mean that’s ALL one piece. Just some styles I’ve been wanting to try out for myself! So expect more than just toony stuff! (Please don’t leave. If you do then…… bye!)
• Art Fight!!! Put em up!! I’ll be TRYIN to join art fight again this year. I’ll be moving AGAIN, in June. I’ll try to strike others and make some movements. Either way, Im looking forward to this year!
• Commissions! Like I said, with the move coming up, I might need some help paying off some bills so I might do some YCH’s and experimentation commissions that maaaaaaybe you guys might be up for! Keep an eye on that! I’ll be sure to keep you all informed about it in the coming days.
• Experimentation drawings. I’ve been wanting to mix things up and try new things! Backgrounds, dynamic shots and maybe studies! I think it’s about time I pack up my camp and move on up in the art world. You may get a taste of that here or maybe on my Telegram channel. I don’t wanna impose too much on ya’ll but in case you’re curious, I’ll definitely be keeping ya’ll up to date with my art studies!
(Intermission: This is why making journals are hard, they take up so much time and time is something I don’t have a lot of. *Sobs*)
So I’ll probably keep these short and try to update more occasionally. Maybe we can do a Q&A in the future!

Yup, that’s right. Im turning 27! It’s not really a big deal because it’s just 27. Not like 29 or 25 years old. Anyways, Im going to send you all a note to let you know my birthday is coming up so I can make you all uncomfortable :D (I won’t, just kidding) Either way, Im looking forward to my birthday. Im not the kind of person who groans at the thought of it. Im just grateful to have made it this far and to look back on my trip.
Anyways, I don't have much to report so I guess this will be it for me. I'll keep on trying to do more of these in the future. Maybe just talk about fun stuff rather than updating. Whatever I feel like, I guess. Thank you all for your patience, support and for reading this if you did! :D

Let’s just jot down some stuff I wanna work on or looking forward to!

New Year, New Goals! … and New Journal!
Posted 7 months agoHello everyone! So good to be writing one of these journals once again. This year, I’ll be trying my hardest to keep these journals going. I love to do these towards the end of the day or when I get some time on my hands.
In other news, I'm making some more resolutions for myself! I listed them off entirely somewhere else but Im gonna be keeping it minimal so it’ll be more realistic and easier to keep up with.
Work out more! Yeah, been kinda slacking off and I really wanna get back to working out or at least get more active in my everyday life. First of all, I gotta get some new shoes becauseI don’t really have anything to support my feet when standing. Might try taking up the gym at my apartment. I just hope I can manage squeezing it into my everyday schedule after work, especially after the ugly amount of traffic I have to face. That traffic alone LOVES to absorb all my energy, even affecting my drawing time. Right now, Im just saving up some money to grab the new shoes. If anyone got any recommendations, leave them below in the comments!
Writing more! That’s right, write! As you can state the obvious with my journaling, I am aiming to write more and do more with my creativity. I believe I can write some pretty good scenarios, stories, journals, and such! I just really need to dedicate myself and get out there. I’ll be happy to let you know that I'm already working on a short story for a future drawing. I would love to add some stories to my drawings to give it more extra, something you could keep coming back to! In the future, I’ll definitely be poking my writing friends for some assistant, so watch your back, I’ll come knockin’!
Cook more! I don’t think it means much but my father is a retired chef. My father cooked for many restaurants, even opening a few steakhouse chains here in Texas. My dad has the ability, the experience, and the tools to cook whatever he desires almost! So, I wanna be just like him and cook like he does! However, Im not cooking because my dad did and so should I. I already felt the pressure from my family when they’re like “Oh you must know how to cook like your own man right about now!” when I’ve only learned a few things from him. That’s not the whole reason behind this goal. The real reason is because, honestly, my father will one day pass and I won’t be able to enjoy his meals if I don’t learn them myself. I also think it would be super cool to cook them for my friends instead of being like “Oh you guys would’ve LOVED his stuff!” and not know how he did it. That’s not the right way to do it! So in conclusion, I wanna learn his tricks and recipes, along with learning my own and possibly make my own dish!
Animate more! I recently came to the discovery of Rough Animator. I haven’t gotten it yet but I'm trying to get more comfortable with animation. I got all the lessons ready to go but animating in Clip Studio Paint is pretty tough. It doesn’t help that I'm too impatient to learn new things, so in a way, it really feels like I'm learning how to actually sit down and dedicate my time to learning something. *Sweat sweat* So I wanna, AT LEAST, try to put out an animatic or something. Just something to show “Hey Im interested in this” for once. Bear with me, everyone, this is actually harder thanI thought!
Commission more! That’s right, commission more! As in, opening up commissions! Just working on pricing, the price sheet, and the Terms of Service. Hopefully commissions will open around the corner. I know I say it plenty of times but, trust me on this! I really need to make the money as you can tell heh.

Well wasn't that just a wacky time, huh???
What a crazy week it's been. We lost control of FA and then FA's twitter got sabotaged. Honestly it was like watching a great catastrophe on late night news. I was keeping up to date with the twitter account because it really does fascinate me how a disturbed individual wakes up, then thinks "Yknow, I got some time on my hand today" and goes to cause a stir. Of course this sent everyone losing their mind, tossing their folders and files in the air, things catching on fire, all that jazz. For me, I just really wanted to get back on FA because I needed a dose of inspiration for art! My only worry was losing my favorite artists' galleries. I was telling a friend how going through old accounts is probably the most fun to do. Seeing how they first started, mentions of "Ive been busy with school!", pictures from their adventures to cons, meeting new friends that would become a big part of their life. All that. I was scared of losing that. (Which is why Im doing this journal thing!)
Either way, what a bum. I don't wanna shed too much light on em because that's their goal; attention.
Im still working on some art, trying to learn new tricks and really getting out there to maybe... spruce up my stuff. I love my art, don't worry, but I think it's time I really try to reel in the big fish. Try anatomy, expressions, poses, and dynamic shots. Maybe even try my hand at backgrounds. Of course, this ain't all gonna be done overnight, just over time.
I do, however, wanna learn animation so I will be doing mostly exercises with animation. Bouncing ball, moving flour bag, swinging pendulum, the usual. It's best to start small than getting ambitious and trying to make a whole animated short in a foreign program. (Clip Studio, God help me)
Another thing I wanna do is draw my fox hanging with some friends of mine! I hate seein em all alone, I need to draw em more with others! So that's one of my missions as well. I could go on and on about what I really want to fix and try but we'll be here all day.

Dragoneer, Life Update, Art Status, and Journals!

Hello! I decided to take this opportunity to write a journal after so long! Felt like connecting with those here with a casual journal and such. Trying something new so let's hope this works out and being able to keep it going!
Let's go ahead and establish what has happened, because it's hard to ignore it. With Dragoneer's unfortunate passing. It's really strange to think he's gone. It felt like he was going to be around with us... till the end of time. When I hopped out of the shower, dried up, then checked my phone, it happened that night. It took me away for a second. It had to settle in my brain for awhile. Dragoneer is gone. It felt like a bad dream... waiting to wake up and seeing him tweet again on Twitter. It's definitely gonna be hard to not GET anymore updates from him either. I never knew em personally. I knew his position in the fandom but never really interacted or such. He's following me on Twitter, maybe on FA and such. Maybe he's commented on my stuff, too. Yet, we just never talked to each other. I always felt like he was one of those guys that is waaaay up there in the leaderboards. Like, yeah I could send him a note and ask if he wants to chill and chat sometime but just never felt the need to. I don't wanna be another voice in the noise in his notes or dm's, yknow? Dragoneer had that... celebrity vibe. Someone you can't just walk up to and say "Hey what's up!" and just get on a personal level with someone. Who knows. Maybe we woulda chat. Either way, Im happy he was following me and such. I can rest easy with the fact he probably liked my art and it got his attention for a few seconds.
May he rest in peace, same goes for his family, friends, and anyone really close to him. Without him, this funny site wouldn't be around. I know others are behind the scenes and such, thank you to you guys but I think it's important where credit is due. Thank you Dragoneer. God bless <3
Next up, let's talk about my life real quick. I moved out of my dad's place and moved into a new place with my cousin. We are now living in an apartment together. Everything is set, it's just getting used to this kind of living. I'd wake up and dad would already have things to tell me to do or an agenda for me to follow. Now, I make the agenda! Awesome! Now it's just falling in LINE to that agenda. Keeping the area nice and tidy, going grocery shopping, cooking at the right time so Im not eating late, and getting used to having my own space. Yeah I have my cousin here but we kinda do our own thing. Right now, Im kinda alone to myself. Currently listening to EQUIP's album " I Dreamed of a Palace in the Sky". Very good stuff. Anyways! It's weird living on my own, paying for my own bills and such. Im definitely gonna have to get on with commissions and push back at these bills. Getting to work on time as well. Work and traffic take up MOST of my time around these parts. Coming home is sucha drag. I immediately flop in bed and actually passed out! It's not a good feeling. Sure some of my friends have said that's fine, but I like doing stuff as soon as I get home! Like DRAWING.
Drawing. Yes! So it's hard to work on art when you come home exhausted from work and traffic. Kinda just wanna shut off my brain and sleep. I have gotten better though! Im starting to immediately get to my daily chores when I get home. Avoiding my bed entirely. Not even to sit down and untie my shoes. However, with all this good time managing and such, Im still failing to draw. I've kinda gotten burned out. yeah, everything I was drawing didn't feel right. It felt like I was back to square one with art. Started all over. Was having a hard time drawing my fox for awhile. Thankfully, I've just been doodling random stuff, kinda writing ideas in the meantime so Im just not doing anything. Working on my characters, maybe some scenarios I wanna put em in. Maybe one day I'll spill what I've been cooking up. Here's hoping! So yeah, Im trying to get back in the swing for art. I know I posted a few things back but it felt weird. It must've been Art Fight. I'll be sure to post my entries. During Art Fight, I was posting quite a storm, I had grand plans to attack all who crossed my path! Buuuuuuut work and such got the best of me. Im just glad I participated at the very least AND for the first time too! Definitely gained some experience for the future! I'll definitely be back with more oomph! *sparkle eyes* Now, back to the topic at hand though. I will be working on more art, some personal projects, trades and other goodies for you all! Hopefully open some commissions in the future too, I could reaaally use the money right about now! Im not down in the dust but man, I'd love to not have the water up to my knees.

Wouldnt mind if it's my cousin or friends, we can always talk for hours and laugh all night long!
02. When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
Always! After working fast food, you kinda see the work force in a different lens. I like to help workers as much as possible!
03. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?
Depends. I like to talk but sometimes I feel like I can talk too much. I like to listen to others.

I do! Im pretty modesty tho so I give thanks to all who give compliments, to really show I mean it!
